@Mrs. Sunglasses: Still EBF and no sign of AF, thankfully. That's just one thing I really don't want to deal with right now!
So, Penny slept very well last night (after poor naps all day). Took 3 different trys to get her to stay asleep, but she finally was asleep around 9:30. She didn't wake up again until 4, then I pulled her in to bed with me (since DH was gone to work). She woke up a little between now and then, bit it's 9:15 and she is still sleeping! I need to get her up soon though because I imagine she has a very full diaper!

I just want to let you all know I'm reading along but don't have enough time to reply while on my phone! Thinking of those of you who are struggling!
Tylers sleep is kinda screwed up on vacation now. Hope we can et back on track when I get home. And he was conceived this very weekend at this very place last year. Crazy how different life is!
- No AF yet - trying to scale back on pumping but I still pump 4x a day and produce like 40 oz just in those sessions
-@pastemoo can you maybe get a babysitter for an evening or afternoon?
- no rolling over at all yet
- no crib yet still in Rock n play plan to transition starting next week
- still swaddle plan to wean after crib transition
- T 15 weeks
- I wore a bikini on vacation - hollah!
- don't think T close to ready for solids. Maybe in a month
Happy almost long weekend!

Sawyer's sleep just seems to get worse and worse. I am anxiously awaiting our white noise machine (the app works amazing for naps, but I need to charge my iPhone overnight so I can't leave it in the crib all night). Last night I gave up and just had him sleep with me, but even then he only slept 3 1/2 hour stretches. My Mom helpfully informed me that I didn't STTN until I was a year old
I am sure it is the teething, because I think he is swallowing insane amounts of drool. His poops went from every 2 days, to major mucousy blowouts every day, and they smell nasty. I have tried teething tablets, but they don't help at all. I am afraid the kid if going to pop up with a half dozen teeth at once!
@Mrs. Sunglasses: No AF here either. Though I have PCOS and had 100 day + cycles prior to metformin, so I am not too surprised.
@regberadaisy: I think I am going to put him in black pants and his tie applique onesie ... I am also bringing his PJ's and swaddle sack, because we might end up there late, and if we do I can probably put him "to bed" in his car seat (he usually does well when I try). As for the EBF/AF/fertility issue I am paranoid about getting pregnant too soon, so on top of EBF (and I still haven't had AF) I use the mini-pill and we use condoms.

@Mrs. Sunglasses: Liam is still in the pnp right next topic bed. I'm too lazy to have to walk down the hall to get him when he wakes up at night. I just scoop him up, nurse laying down, then put him back in the pnp. Everyone tells me their LO was in their own room by 3 months, but we're not there yet.
Still no AF here.
I got my BFP a year ago yesterday! Had to look back at my charts to remember! It's funny because a friend of mine just got her BFP last night after a year of trying.
Liam does not want to go to sleep anymore! He cries and I have to walk back and forth down the hall for 15 minutes until he passes out. he has never once gone to bed on his own without me rocking him. Might be sleep training time...

@MsMini: I understand your pain on the sleep front. Last night the longest stretch willa did was two hours, although most of them were 45 minutes. By four a.m. I pretty much just broke down and started bawling because I was so exhausted. My body hurt from holding her so much and my nipples were cracked and chaffed. I am feeling so defeated cuz I feel like she is getting too old to have such crappy sleep....

Oh, and willa has been in her crib for a month now. And no AF. And I didn't get my BFP last year until September 8.

@duckduckkristen: I'm thinking that maybe I should get rid of the bassinet and put the parc n play instead. Hubs just asked me today "When is Sienna gonna sleep in her room" um... "when she stops waking up 4x a night to get soothed." he replied "well it will be good cardio seeing you are trying to lose weight" Sigh! I don't need cardio when im half asleep!

@Mrsdaredevil: If our room wasn't in the basement, Sienna would have been in her crib since day 1! Alas, I need to transition her (she's slept in the crib 3x already) but still...

@winniebee go you! Rocking a bikini!
@msmini Sawyers wedding attire sounds adorable!
@ducksuckkristen and mrsdaredevil I feel your pain! I brought sleep up to my pedi at Lilys 4 month appt and he was like "oh no she doesn't need to wake up so often at this point, she can go 10 hours without eating, you need to stop feeding her and it's a good time to sleep train" duh! I'd love for her to sleep longer haha but I guess I've decided I'm going to try harder and be more consistent with sleep training!
No af here and liking it that way

Oh the sleep sagas continue!!! Tyler has been doing 4 or 5 for his long stretches the past few nights and then only 2 or 2,5 the rest. It wouldnt be so bad but since we are with family Im not going yo bed til later and therefore missing out on the "long" stretch. We are on vaca but it feels like anything but! He's also doing short day naps (one long one today) and wakes up 2-3x a night after we put him down. He's only 15 wks so I'm not sure about sleep training though I read somewhere (maybe te blog) that one ideal time to do it is 4.5 months. My MIL keeps mentioning Dr Spock....

Oh I feel for you all with crappy sleep!! We seriously JUST got out of that... It does get better.. but I know every baby is different and for some their sleep doesn't get better until later.
I'm so sorry! I have no solutions, but my deepest empathy.
@Mrs. Sunglasses: 6 months pp and no AF!! I'm so happy. I have heard that it usually comes back once babies start STTN (as in 12-13 hrs straight). We still have one night feeding.
@winniebee: oh dear no I've only heard awful things about Dr. Spock. I think he is now deemed dangerous!! One thing I have noticed since having a baby though is that the previous generation is very stuck in their generations ideas.
I am so thankful my mom has had an open mind about different parenting ideas. She is so sweet and openly admits she did so many things "wrong".

So after a day full of fussiness and very little napping, Liam went to bed at *7pm* (his usual is anywhere between 9 and 11)! He woke up to eat at 8:30pm, then I did a dream feed when I went to bed at 11, he woke up at 4:30 and 9:15 to eat, and is still sleeping now at 10am! I'm going to have to wake him up soon so we can go pick up our monthly grass fed meat supply.
I have an appointment with a therapist Monday. She explained to me on the phone that they are trying to change ppd to pmaad (perinatal mood and anxiety disorders) because while everybody recognizes post partum depression, a lot of doctors still don't recognize post partum anxiety. I didn't even know there was such a thing as post partum anxiety, so I'm glad I called her! I also tried to explain to DH just how bad it has been and how afraid I am of absolutely everything (therapist caled it a "fear of impending doom" lol) and he had no idea how bad it was, so I'm happy I told him.
DHs parents are coming today which means I can get a whole lot done for our party tomorrow and pick out kitchen tile! Yay!

Penny slept for a while in her pack n play last night. She has been arching her back when I put her in the RnP asleep, so I figured she couldn't do that on a flat surface. She slept in it feom 9:30-1. The rest of the night was in bed with me, which I wish was not the case. Oh well, at least we are sleeping better. I feel WAY better, with no signs of mastitis anymore. I haven't left the house since I have been resting over the last few days so I am ready to get out some this weekend. FILs bday is on Monday ao we will have a pool party/cookout. I might even take Penny in the pool with me! Hope you all have a great weekend!
And here is Penny this morning, such a happy girl!

@bpcmarj: Cobi coslept with use for the first few months, and though it was hard during the time - I kinda now miss it!! He won't sleep with us anymore, he needs his own space... it's a little sad lol I love his cuddles!! I don't regret it, it was the only thing that worked for us for awhile. We transitioned him to his crib at 3.5 months; he was going thru his sleep regression so we figured things couldn't get worse... they actually got better!! I think he likes his space to sprawl out.
@duckduckkristen: Aww!! I'm glad you found help... and I'm really glad your husband is being supportive. I think a lot of times we underestimate their ability to understand... or even just be there for us. I've been surprised at how amazing DH is when I actually just open up to him!

@MsMini: We love our sleep sheep! White noise is a must for all 3 of us :). Good luck with that, and I am sure it will help out in the sleep dept.
@Mrs.M57: Precious little girl! I like the bow!
@bpcmarj: Happy to hear you're feeling better! Cute little Penny pic!
We decided to get the Sophie giraffe teether while at Babies r us today. Our son took right to it, and has never been so excited about a toy. I hesitated to buy it at first, bc all of the babies I used to nanny were never that excited about it despite the hype.
Cooper has been put to bed way past his bedtime for much of the week resulting in a very unhappy boy! Tonight, he went down at 9, and we are finding that his bedtime needs to be by 7:30. I wish he didn't have to go to bed so early! We have so much fun with him. My husband and I are such night owls, so we still have plenty of time to spend together, just the two of us.
Cooper is now scooting on his tummy! I fear that he will take after his daddy and start running by 9 months. I'll be fine if he waits until after he's a year old! There is noooo rush!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
Ugh well we started off the week well in terms of routine, sleep, and demeanor and all got progressively worse. Last night he slept 9 hours but in small increments and MIL has a house full of guets so i was nervous he would wake everyone up. Sad to say but I'm looking forward to going home today, get Tyler back into a routine and hopefully get him on an earlier bedime and in his crib, have our own apace, and me start going to bed early again! Vacation is fun, but exhausting.

I'm so behind, but I read all of your posts. The weekend with the in-laws here was going well. They are a grandma and grandpa who respect bedtime! I was so happy. But guess who had less respect for bedtime than was needed? DH.
Long story, but the short version goes like this: I was crying and screaming at him this morning for not respecting how difficult it is to put down LO when he is overtired.
Right now, as I type, DH is upstairs running bedtime routine. If it works, I'm going to make him do it for the rest of the week too so I can go back to yoga nights in peace, and especially so that he gets back to respecting the sleep. (Although, in order to REALLY know what it's like, I should make him get up to soothe Nico back to sleep when he wakes up EVERY HOUR ALL NIGHT LONG on those nights when Nico goes to bed too late because of DH). Yep, last night was the worst ever.
Now, since I have the pleasure of being down here and typing while he's putting him to sleep, I can join the thread with replies!!!
@winniebee: You made it through vacation! I used to be worried about waking up guests, but I have found that only I hear the baby cry in the night, and it's for such a short time.....wait, since you bottle feed, does Tyler end up crying for a little while before you can soothe him with the bottle of pumped? I've always wondered that about night-feedings with bottles. I can go from sleep to feeding Nico in about ten seconds, and practically with my eyes still closed.
@calsmom: that reminds me: I've lost our Sophie somewhere in the house and haven't seen her in a couple of weeks. I'll have to hunt her down now that Nico is better at hand-mouth coordination. PS. I like your new username. Any reason that you changed it?
Oh! Reading about Cooper's scooting success reminds me that I almost forgot to report a milestone today:
Nico rolled over for the first time (and 2nd and 3rd time) today. Tummy to back. Not an early roller, but not the latest. He seems to have absolutely no idea how to roll onto his side from back, so I don't think we'll have to deal with the sleeping-rolls for a while still.
@Coco Bee: and @bpcmarj: My guy needs his space too. Well, i should say that he either needs his space, or he insists on being attached to my boob. When he is attached to my boob I sleep like ca-ca. When he sleeps with me, but not attached to the boob, he sleeps like ca-ca (which wakes me up in the end). So, because of all this, I'm pretty diligent about putting him back into the crib. But last night was so horrible that I finally gave in around 1am and decided to accept my ca-ca sleep so Nico could sleep.
@duckduckkristen: Thanks for sharing with us everything you are learning about PPD and the anxiety component; i think when I was in prenatal classes they were very in-the-box about what PPD was and it might have been more beneficial for them to be more up-to-date about the spectrum that you're talking about.
@Coco Bee: That is cool that your Mom says that. I think at first my Mom felt a little strange about helping me, since she didn't breastfeed and didn't cloth diaper, so she felt like there wasn't much she knew to do. I realized this a bit on the late side, but she needed to hear from me that I am not judgmental of how she raised me....it never occurred to me that she was feeling insecure about that. She told me that back in her day there was no talk of breastfeeding and they just assumed you were giving formula and asked you which one you wanted to use.
@winniebee: Never heard of Dr. Spock. I'll have to google.... Here's what he was (from wikipedia):
-whose book Baby and Child Care, published in 1946, is one of the biggest best-sellers of all time.
-influenced several generations of parents to be more flexible and affectionate with their children, and to treat them as individuals
-Spock advocated that infants should not be placed on their back when sleeping
- at first was pro-circumcision and in the late 80s was an advocate for leaving the penis alone
Hmm he sounds like a pretty good guy....just didn't know about the SIDS research.
Update on DH's bedtime routine: well, the good news is that Nico took a bottle---yay! And he is not crying---yay! But he is also not sleeping. I say 'yay' to this too, since the purpose of this exercise was to teach DH that this was not easy.
@Mrs.M57: I loooooooove that little headband! girl envy!
@Mrs. Sunglasses: We have a similar situation where Nico's room will be on a different floor than ours. His crib is in our room now, and I had planned to keep it there for the first 6 months, as per the Canadian health recommendation.....but now that he is getting so sensitive to sound, I'm considering moving him earlier because the other room would be quieter. But there is not enough room in that room for his crib AND a bed, so if we do make the move and he is still waking up a lot, I will also be getting midnight cardio sessions in. (No thanks!) For now, I am just advocating for us living a quieter lifestyle (leading to the big giant fight this morning).
@Mrsdaredevil: Ah! we both had bad nights In my dream in the middle of it all, someone handed me a bottle of lanolin. Yep, my nipples were that sore that my dreaming-self wanted some lanolin.
@MsMini: I am now really considering a noise machine thing. Are you getting the Sleep Sheep? It's the only one I've ever heard of. There is a small possibility that I might break down and order one this week.
DH putting Nico to sleep update: not sleeping...but I sure do like this getting a break and just sitting on my laptop while DH does the work. Why was I only having him do bedtime routine on my yoga night?
So, with all the time on my hands, I just pulled up my calendar from last year. I thought that my BFP was Sept 1, but according to the calendar, it was the 2nd, so happy BFPiversary to me! (Sept 1st was the day I felt pregnant even though the BFN, I was still 100 percent sure that I was). Man, I was a super-late BFP. I got a BFN 4 and 1 day before that too. Crazy how fast time flies, even though pregnancy felt like it took forEVER.
DH bedtime routine update: Nico is sleeping. He did it. It took exactly an hour, including the bath and the bottle and the walking-him-to -sleep. He did a damn fine job.

@bpcmarj Penny is such a sweetie! What a happy girl! Glad youre feeling better!
@cvbee yay for Nico rolling! lily has been obsessed with rolling from back to belly lately, she has been rolling onto her belly at night, and last night every time we switched her to her back, she rolled right back to her belly, so we ended up letting her sleep like that, but I was soo nervous! She's reverse Nico she can't figure out how to do belly to back yet.
That is frustrating that dh didn't respect bedtime, it is such a sensitive thing, I think that it can be hard for other people to realize until they're the ones living it. Also I saw you mentioned the sleep sheep, we have it and it's wonderful! But we use it in the car cause Lily hates the carseat and it puts her to sleep.she likes the whale noises setting. It's slightly creepy, my dogs bark at it, but it works like a charm! And we use a different white noise machine that has a night light at bedtime I think it's from target, but we use the rain noise for bedtime. I think it helps!
@winniebee that had to be tough getting T to sleep at someone else's house! Glad you get to get back on track! I thought we had turned a corner with sleep I hav ebeen trying hard to keep Lil on a routine. we've been great with naps and Lil has slept 1 stretch of 7.5-8.5 hours followed by one 2-3 hour for the past 4 nights. and last night she did 7.5 then 2 both in her crib and 2 in bed with me so I got to sleep in! But, low and behold tonight she has been up 4 times since going down at 7. can't win them all I guess!
@calsmom wow, scooting on his tummy, sounds like you'll have a little mover on your hands!
So Lily has been giving us giggles here and there for a good while now, but I was waiting for the full belly laughs, and we got them today yay! I laughed so hard I had tears in my eyes and I actually startled Lil at one point haha so cute, can't wait for lots more! That is the best ever!

@cvbee: DH is the same way about Liam's sleep. I keep telling him that as soon as Liam does any fussing at all he needs to go to sleep, otherwise he'll be a mess and it will be harder to get him down. Of course, DH doesn't listen. When Liam gets fussy, he just plays something else with him so he gets overtired and then I have a hard time putting him to sleep. I need to start making him to the bedtime/nap routine and then maybe he'll appreciate what I do!
nectarine / 2039 posts
@Mrs.M57: That's neat that Lily does the opposite roll. Nico liked napping on his tummy as a newborn, but definitely not anymore. I guess it makes sense that maybe they're just motivated to get to their favourite position, but not to get into the less-favourite one. @Mrs.M57: So funny that your dog barks at the whale sounds.
@Mrs.M57: Yay for belly laughs bringing tears to your eyes!
@duckduckkristen: I really should have taken better advantage of this weekend for making DH do the bedtime/nap routines more often. I feel bad during the week when he gets home from a long day of work to get him to do that work as well. But this way he will appreciate/respect the sleep more AND I will feel better knowing that if something happened to me that someone else could keep Nico's sleeping on-track.
Just opened a box of hand-me-downs. Lots of nice warm stuff for the winter and some cute summer stuff for next year! New books to read too. Hand-me-downs rock.

A bit of exciting news - 3 lbs to go to get to my pre-preg weight and I fit into my old jeans! Muffin top, but whatever.
@Mrs.M57: Well sounds like she may be turning a corner!
@cvbee: yay for Nico rolling and for DH stepping in! Dr. Spock was one of the first proponents of "cry it out" I think.

@winniebee: with a little more googling, it is true: he was a cry-it-out guy, even though everything else he did seemed much 'nicer' like feed-on-demand. Interesting.

@Mrsdaredevil: ughhh no so sorry...
@cvbee: what I had heard about him was that he teaches babies are manipulative from the very beginning and you have to "train" them right away. He advocates letting them cry until they "submit", even if they start vomiting from crying so hard, you're not supposed to give in. It was traumatizing for me to read
Cobi's sleep has been so back and forth. We have been experimenting with a 6:30pm bedtime. The first night wasn't great. Before he'd been sleeping 7pm-4am, then til 7:30.
The first night it was 6:30-12, then to 4, then 6. It was a pain. Next night he slept 6:30-6am, then back to sleep until 8.
After that it was similar to the first night.
Then another 11.5 hour night!
Last two nights he woke up at 8:30, 12, 6 and 8.
It is a hit or miss... But now he is always tired by 6:30pm so I think we're sticking with this bedtime.

@Mrsdaredevil: Wow, 2 years is amazing! On one hand I'm glad we'll be able to TTC without even necessarily having to stop BF, but its still such a bummer to have AF so soon.
@cvbee: So glad you're rebounding from your kidney stone business... you've had a rough go!
@golidlocks1107: Yay for hitting your pre-preg weight, you must feel awesome!
@Mrs.M57: That's scary with Lily flipping over like that! Hopefully she doesn't make a habit of it! We gave A some cereal last night too and she did surprisingly well too!
@Mrs.Sunglasses: My period came back days before A was 2 months and I've been EBF since day 1. A is in her crib too unless its too hot (we have an a/c unit and ceiling fan in our room) but I bring her to bed for her last sleep stretch in the morning.
@winniebee: I think my jaw just hit the floor when I read 40oz.... I've been having supply issues since AF returned and last night I was so excited to have pumped 3oz haha
@MsMini: I broke down and bought a new white noise machine this weekend too. We had a sleep sheep but I hate that stupid thing... what the heck is with every type of infant soother being on a timer??
@Mrsdaredevil: Hang in there. I know how you feel about the sleep stuff... A was doing hourly wake ups forever and I literally came unhinged a few times... to the point where I was a little embarrassed the next morning.
@winniebee: hah too funny, my Mom said they tried to follow the Dr. Spock stuff too. Except she said it nearly drove her crazy until they ditched the books and followed his cues.
@calsmom: A has gotten into a 7:30 bedtime too. There's just no keeping her up longer.
@Mrsdaredevil: Ahh nooo... so sorry you got your period I was hoping things would work out for you like it did your Mom. Boo.
Well... we've had a few nights of better sleep here. 7:30 to anywhere from 10:30 to 12:30 for a dream feed then the next waking around 2-3. Last night for the first night her early morning stretches were 2hrs, not her regular 1 hours so I'm feeling a little better.
We bought a new white noise machine that doesn't have to run on a timer (yay) have started using some anti-gas drops over night and last night resorted to giving her a little oatmeal cereal mixed with breast milk after she nursed before bed. I was hoping to wait until she was older so I could just start with purees, but we've been thinking she really just needs something a little more substantial. She ate it like a total champ which was surprising.
I feel like we're right on the cusp of her getting back to some better sleep because she's at least been napping sooo well all week. And of course I jinxed that and she's up early, crying as I type! Boo.

@cvbee: From my Mom's memory, Spock was basically the first guy to commercialize a baby how-to book. She always talks about how much info we have available to us now when back "in her day" all they had was Spock! He seems a little rigid and hardcore for my liking.
nectarine / 2039 posts
Sounds like lots of the babies are finding their new bedtimes--yay. We're still figuring things out, but it's getting easier.
@LAGS: Thanks for the white noise machine review before I go out and buy one.
Now that Nico got used to me feeding him before sleep, I can't put him down for a nap without either a LOT of crying or feeding him. Oh well.
PS. I'm curious to ask my Mom about Dr. Spock now.....before this I never heard of the guy.

@calsmom, we do lots of laundry anyway—but YES. He spits up sooooo much. Sometimes it goes splat on the floor, sometimes it goes all the way down my back or into the couch. Ugh, gross. Today there was yellow-green specs in it—I almost puked when I saw it!
Cooper is scooting onhis tummy? WOW! Cool! Gabriel doesn’t do much at tummy time (but cry), but he loves standing and will now stand on the floor with his hands against the couch—so cute! Glad the sophie is working for you. Gabriel loves his.
How cute that he likes bananas! We let him lick an apple DH was eating and he was all smiles. So cute!
Still EBF though and no AF—and I forgot to ask my mom when she was here this weekend! The weekend was exhausting. It was fun but too much. We did go to Gabriel’s first Nationals game (baseball) but it was hot and we lost. We should have gone a different day. We used to be season ticket holders so we were kind of desperate to go. Oops.
@cvbee: One thing after another! I’m glad the house is clean now, and I hope you had fun this weekend. Bummer about your husband putting the baby to bed late. My husband would do that too, but I have to put Gabriel to bed when DH is still at work (6 to 8pm bedtime, DH gets home around 10pm).
@winniebee: I hope his sleep is better when you get back! And yay for a bikini! I wear mine to the pool but usually it’s just me and the baby and the lifeguard since I go for maybe 20-30 minutes right when the pool opens. And my tummy is still flabby with my linea nigra still showing.
Yay for 3lbs to go! Congrats!
I guess I could look for a sitter. I don’t really trust my neighborhood but maybe could arrange something with a daycare center? When my parents were here I really tried to nap with baby but all day he only took 15-30 min naps and I’d wake up feeling sick and wished I hadn’t tried… or he would sleep in the car and I was driving.
@msmini: I’m sorry his sleep is getting worse. That is what we’re dealing with and it’s rough. I wish I had advice for you.
@mrsdaredevil: 45 min sleep stretches are the worst! I have been sleeping on the couch by the crib and nursing and then sleeping there. Sometimes I put him back in the crib, sometimes not.
Sorry about AF.
@mrs sunglasses: WHAT A BUTT! I can’t believe he said that! I am not going on a diet until 6 months pp. We had Gabriel’s crib in our room for 4 weeks—then he started talking in his sleep so we put him in the living room. I walk back and forth but sometimes I just sleep in the living room.
@mrsm57: Lilly is adorable! I love the green headband. Sleep training… I am trying it now because I need to try SOMETHING. Ugh. 10 hours without eating? Really?!
@duckduckkristen: mmm grassfed meat. Yay for lots of sleep! Glad your therapist sounds so good.
@bpcmarj: Yay for sleeping in the pnp. Hope you get a whole night there soon. She is so cute and smiley!
@cocobee: Gabriel needs his space to sleep, too.
@lags: I know! I am lucky if I can pump 1 oz from each side anymore… bummer.
So… what is instagram? Do you have to have a smartphone to do it?
How cool is it being a year out from the BFP? We’re one week away from ours (ish) Sept 9 or 10?
So… 10 lbs to pre preg weight. I can zip/button all my pants but the muffin top is really bad, so I’m only wearing my fat pants. And most of my shirts are way too short (and not nursing accessible).
PS My spock book says babies need to sleep on their backs because of SIDS research.

Well, our weekend continued with awesome day naps (3 naps, about 90 minutes each every day), and lackluster sleep (a 3 1/2 hour stretch and a couple 2 1/2 stretches, with fussing in the morning until I bring him to bed with me for the last sleep stretch). The noise machine should be here soon I hope ...
Sawyer is really slowly tolerating tummy time more. It has been a slow process to get him on his tummy at all. He is extremely adept at the front to back roll, and the back to side roll.
Sawyer has been feeding like crazy all weekend (every 1 1/2 - 2 hours) I am almost wondering if he is having some kind of off-schedule growth spurt?
@cvbee: I was going to get the sleep sheep, but the noise shuts off after 45 minutes, and I don't think that will work well, so I got a regular adult sound machine where the sound stays continuous. It was like $30 on well.ca, it should be here soon (I hope).
@Mrs.M57: I agree, the full out baby laughs are the best ever!
@winniebee: Yay for the weight loss! I am not planning on sleep training anytime soon. I don't have the heart for CIO. We do have more of a routine, and I don't go in for fussing, just real crying. He also is pretty good at going down drowsy and falling asleep, so it isn't the worst situation to be in.
@Mrsdaredevil: Oh no! Period are just no fun at all.
@LAGS: Did the oatmeal cereal work?
@Coco Bee: Yay for little baby teeth!
@pastemoo: I am sorry you are in sleep hell with me, though it feels good to not be alone LOL!

@winniebee: I hope T sleeps better for you tonight! Nice work on losing the pregnancy weight! As long as you can button those jeans, it's considered an accomplishment...muffin top or not haha
@pastemoo: The spitting up is out of control. I can't burp him over my shoulder anymore for the reasons you stated!
He hasn't scooted much more! He's also being stubborn on rolling back over when he's on his tummy. We bail him out when he starts whining, so hubby and I are having to try to let him work it out.
@Coco Bee: Sweet!
@cvbee: No particular reason I changed my username. I was just ready to switch it up a bit
@Mrsdaredevil: Sounds like mine. It was horrible. There was no such thing as a light day and it was 7 days long. Gross.
@LAGS: Ha! That happens to us all of the time. Either my husband and I will comment how Cooper is still asleep. Without fail, he wakes up more often than not!
It took Cooper an hour to fall asleep tonight. I'm having a hard time with him going to sleep these days! You would think a 7:30 bedtime is early enough? I kept going into his room to check and see if he had a spit-up, so I know that doesn't help him drift off. Instead, I found a lot of drool. I moved him to various parts of the crib, but eventually I ran out of options lol. I decided to put more Aquaphor on his cheeks.
In another post, I stated how Cooper had several wake ups last night and I was wondering if it was due to an upset tummy from his solid feeding yesterday. I'm going to ask the Dr about it tomorrow at his 4 month appt. I decided to forego the solids today.

@winniebee: oh no so sorry sleep is so whack. It's so freaken unpredicatble it drives me bananas. For 3 nights straight Sienna woke up a good 4-5 times (I only nursed her once during that time) but definitely not fun!
Last night, I had an iced cappuccino and was up til 2 am!!!!!!! I swear I could not close my eyes. and... Sienna slept for 10 hours straight. WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!! the night I can't sleep because of coffee?!!!!!! SHOOT ME NOW. I'm very pesimistic that she will have an encore but just in case, I'm going to bed early tonight.
@Coco Bee: Oh yay teeth!!!!!!! they are so adorable when they start coming in but when it disrups sleep it's not fun. Glad he wasn't fussy!
@pastemoo: ya, i think i might have to transition her to crib and suck it up. I mean it's temporary right?! Plus, I don't work so I could always try and catch a few zzz when she naps if I had a rough night.
@MsMini: Sienna still doesn't roll. I blame her chubbiness. She did it once on my bed, but hasn't done it since. Need to work on that! What a smile! he's adorable!!!
@calsmom: OMG that face! and those eyes. Oh he's gonna break many hearts when he's older.
