Oh my we are having a little crisis. Not sure if it is teething or belly issues, or from antibiotics im taking( ill explain further)but Lily has for the past 4-5 days been having inconsolable crying fits! Not even nursing calms her and that normally always does the trick. It seems teething related, but I don't know the crying is extremely intense! It was really sad I was rocking her to sleep last night and she was so peaceful, had just drifted off and then suddenly she began screaming. It took me 15 minutes to calm her. Then we put her down forthe night and an hour later on the monitor we heard a blood curdling scream. Hubby went to check on her and she was screaming inher sleep. So sad! Today we had a 30 minute crying spell and she just calmed. I think another call to her pedi is in store today.
Also, I have an insect bite on my arm that turned into an abscess, which is so gross and it hurts like heck, and I am on 2 different antibiotics. 1 i started on saturday after going to urgent care an 1 that i started today after going to the ER because the bite wasnt getting any better. I thought Lilys crying could be from the antibiotics, but it started before I started taking them. They have gotten worse though since. I'm thinking there's a possibility I may have to try to pump and dump and give Lily some of the frozen stock. I just worry because I only have 2 days worth saved up and it's tainted with cows milk from before I started the milk protein free diet for Lil. Blah sorry this was somewhat of a long rant. I guess I'm just a super nervous momma today.

@coco bee: 1 hour earlier bedtime tonight
@CPCMARJ: she looks like she’s having a blast!!! (and by the way , that is a fancy looking pack and play, or is that a quilt draped over the sides?)
@MRS.M57: since I just read that sleep book I’d have to suggest that maybe it is because she is overtired and tonight you should try to put her to bed at 6pm and see if that gets her back on track. What a nightmare with you having to go on antibiotics and then having to question what might be making poor Lily get so upset. Have you tried Tylenol or a teething cream? What does she do if you rub her gums? I am not much help if it is teething, as we’re not there yet, but I sure hope this issue resolves for you. So sad! And yes, I agree the new page thing is tricky for replies. This time I opened a Word Doc to type into.
Bookclub report: The Healthy Sleep book gets totally disappointing at chapter 5, when it seems to just instruct everyone to do his particular version of cry it out (soothe first, put down, leave and never come back) once babies are like 5 months or so….oh, except for co-sleepers who should just continue co-sleeping. He says if your baby is 4 months you might hate what he has to say, but you might want to read it again when your baby is 8 months. We’ll see. So, I’m taking a little break from the book now, as it’s dealing with older children (through to adolescence) and then particular issues. Since I’m not dealing with any of that, I’m not as motivated to read it, but the sleep stuff is interesting. Wish I never stumbled upon chapter 5 though….a real turn-off after 4 chapters of being so inclusive.
So happy to have Nico back on his schedule. All I had to do was make bedtime earlier and now he’s back to being nicer (I forgot how calm and independent he could be) and back to pooping when I expect him to poop (not that I insist that my baby should poop at certain times, but it sure made life predictable when he pooped every time after he woke up, usually while I was feeding him). And I now feel like I have the tools to keep him in the healthy sleep zone and correct things when he gets overtired again.

@cvbee thanks for the sleeps suggestions. Thatnstinks that chapter 5 was disappointing. we struggle with sleep still also. She did go to bed at 6:10 last night, but then acted like it was a nap and was up at 7:30! I got her back down by 8:30 and she didn't wake again til 2:30 to eat. Have you had that problem with Nico, treating 6:00 bedtime like a nap? We have had that problem since starting early bedtime, she never seems to go to sleep and stay asleep until about 8.
Also we've been regularly doing teething tablets, biting cool wash cloths, teething toys and Tylenol as a last resort. I did give it to her today and she's out now, which does make it seem to be teething, I think I'm just paranoid about the antibiotics, because my hubby is allergic to all of the amoxicillin, penicillin antibiotics.

@Mrs.M57: We dealt with that with Cobi.. we never really found out the answer and it lasted nearly two months, but only from 7pm-12am. Give or take a few hours. One theory was night terrors, another was teething, but it also could have been overtiredness.
Since we started sleep training two weeks ago, he's been fine.
We got him the albert diaper yesterday! He's so cute!

How wonderful that she's laughing a lot now!! Baby belly laughs are, without a doubt, the best!
@cvbee: All of these sleeping tips are good to know!! Thank you for helping all of us out!
@Coco Bee: We decided to stop swaddling our son a few weeks ago. He slept better without it, bc he loves to spread his arms out.
@duckduckkristen: Sounds interesting living without a kitchen for a while! Let us know how that goes lol. Congrats on getting him to sleep 12 hours at night!!

I wrote most of the above post last night. Midway through, hubby came in complaining of sharp back pain. We immediately thought it was kidney pain due to an infection or something. We went to the ER, and 6 hours later at 3am, we left with a diagnosis of a small kidney stone, 3 prescriptions, several doctors orders, a referral, and a very pissed off/overtired baby!
He went to bed immediately upon returning home, and slept until 10:30. It was beautiful! We were still very tired, and Cooper fell asleep immediately after his first feed. He's taking his second nap, so I will be going up to the grocery store to get hubby's prescriptions and a Similac ready to feed bottle of the added rice starch to see if he really does take that (aka spit-up less) better than the powder.
We just had tummy time before he went down for this nap, and he is rolling all over the place! Maybe he won't freak out as much when he rolls over in his crib.
I have pics to post once I download them from facebook to my computer. Soon!

@bpcmarj: How adorable is she ! We use pampers awareness and then the baby dry overnight.
@Mrs.M57: Oh you poor thing and poor Lil! I didn't know you were on a dairy free diet top. It is hard ESP since I dot even have the fun of nursing, just pumping. how long do you plan to e on it? Do you think t helped?
@cvbee: Thanks sp much for he cliffs notes pn that book! It is really helpful and I have been more persostent with naps even though we are on vacation. He woke up 2 times fro
His afternoon nap but hen finally was out for 2 hours! I successfully got him to bed at 8 last night!
Vacation is good the weather is beautiful. Tyler has slept well at
night 7 or 8 the past few nites) but napping poorly during he
day. He has also been more cranky he past few weeks which I think is related to poor napping but also maybe he needs to go to bed earlier. Hard to do on vaca so hopefully will move him up after we get home.
Hard to keep up but hope beehive is doing well!

And we never figured out what caused the rash - it was gone the next morning. I'm going to assume it was something at grandma and grandpa's house that she rubbed up against.
@Mrs.M57: So sorry about Lily's screaming fits. I don't have any advice, but I hope it eases up soon!

@Mrs.M57: what is your daytime nap schedule like? 3 naps at 9, 12, 3 is the aim, although he says not to watch the clock. I haven't had the problem with Nico, but he doesn't always actually go down at 6. We'll see where things settle down. Yesterday because DH interrupted nap 1, we were super off in the schedule all day long, so he woke up from nap 3 at 6:00. So we figured it might be an 8pm bedtime again. But then at 7pm, Nico FLIPPED OUT (as we have seen him do maybe once or twice a week for the past month, just before bedtime.....we always knew that we had to get him changed and into nursing to sleep ASAP because it was the only thing that stops him from crying and then he'd sleep). Tonight we are on track for a 6pm bedtime, especially because 3pm nap was just a catnap.
@Coco Bee: super cute photo...beautiful quilt too!
@marriedandlovingit: ouch! Your poor DH. I did labour and delivery without meds, but I needed morphine when I had my kidney stone and my kidney infection.
@winniebee: For our vacation time Nico was about the same age as Tyler is now, and that was when our problems started, and I blamed it on the vacation but I think it was also the age of change. Sounds like you are doing a great job with it all. Bravo to you!
Alright, time for me to take Nico for a walk before he falls asleep and has an inappropriate nap time.
Funny baby thing today: he's into kicking his own bum with his heels today.

You guys... I want to respond to everyone but it's so hard on my phone. My in laws don't have wifi. Uggghhh. I wanted to tell you all, the flight went great! I will try to respond to everyone else soon!

@cvbee: after our las vacation is when Tylers sleep was awful. But it was also his 3 month grown spurt. I think. It is hard on vaca because MIL bless her heart is completely laid bak about babies schedules and doesn't underhand when it's nap time. Today when he woke up after 10 mins of his nap she was like oh just leave him he's not crying. Just to sort of show her what happens I did and of course he went ballistic and the. I got him down for his nap gain - he woke up once more but then was out for 2 hrs. I feel like an overbearing mom in front of er sometimes but he's my kid I know best!!!
@mediagirl: great news!!!! Hope the week continues to go great!

M was a absolute terror last night. We did our usual routine of bath time at 6pm. Then we get dressed for bed time and saying good night to daddy. And we go into our nice dark bedroom with just a night light & humidifier to nurse.
She did not want to nurse. She was fussing and screaming at the boob. She hasn't screamed like that since I went on a MSPI diet! She's been fussing more at the boob last couple days and I'm wondering if it's because I started being a little lax about my diet. Like last week I had soup that had some Romano cheese in it. And I've started adding in some regular coffee into my cup of decaf. So I also wonder if she's tired but the caffeine is keeping her up. Sigh. So after various attempts at which point she became completely overtired she finally started nursing and calming down at 8ish and going down in her crib about 9:30pm. A full 2 hours after her usual bedtime.
I thought maybe her teeth were bothering her but once we did something to distract her attention she was fine.
But she slept from 9:30-3:30am which I def appreciated because I went to sleep at 10:30. It's been ages since I got a straight 5 hours!!!!
In lighter news she is officially four months today!!! Can't believe how fast the past four months have flown by. We look at her everyday and marvel at how amazingly perfect she is. And wonder how it's possible we could possibly love another human being so much after each other.
These sleepless nights are rough but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
@marriedandlovingit: omgosh! how's your husband doing?

@regberadaisy: He's feeling great, thanks! He hasn't had any pain since Sunday.
Cooper took forever to fall asleep last night. He was overtired and may have been thrown off from the night before. I couldn't let him cry it out, bc I wasn't sure if he was in pain from teething or another reason. I went in a couple of times to cuddle with him. After the second time, he calmed down enough to fall asleep. It was sad hearing him cry as hard as he was last night!

@regberadaisy: Things have been tough with us lately too. I DON"T UNDERSTAND HOW EVERYDAY IS DIFFERENT IN THE SLEEPING DEPARTMENT. (sorry that needed caps)
Sienna slept a whole 8 hours straight 2 days ago (YAY) but the last two nights have been hellish waking up 5-6 times. Shoot me now!!!!
@Coco Bee: OMG that diaper is ADORABLE! it kinda wants me to get diaper covers to put over the disposables. ha! Hang in there mama, now that he's doing pretty well with the sleep training, you might have to nap train him. Bee wrote some great posts about that!
@marriedandlovingit: Sienna just started giggling and it makes me laugh. It's so adorable. Crazy how fast you forget. With Mavrick it's only been 2 years and seems like I'm experiencing everything for the first time. Love it.
@mediagirl: yay! so glad it's going well. Can't wait to hear more. Enjoy your vacay!!
@winniebee: I'm with you there! Sienna still doesn't roll over, but then again I don't put her on the floor much. She likes fluffy stuff. Aka my bed, the couch, the crib (diva in the making maybe?)... not so much on the floor with her toys (i need to work on that!)
@marriedandlovingit: Oh no! i heard kidney stones are worst then actually giving birth. Luckily it's a small one! yesh. Hope he feels better soon!
Mavrick has been back at daycare since yesterday. YAY!!!!!!!! He was off for three weeks (daycare was closed) so I barely had time to go online. During our 3 weeks, his bond with Sienna has grown even more that is makes my mommy heart so happy. He holds her all the time and cares for her. So sweet!
We went on a mini trip to the US (plattsburg, nothing fancy) but it was nice to have a change in scenery. Both kids did great on the car ride and during the vacation. Mavrick loved the pool and sienna slept pretty much anywhere. We came home with 2 strollers and I'm happy to report I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Baby Trend Double Stroller! Not only do I love it, but Mavrick is a fan too!!! (he hated our Joovy) I also got a jogging stroller so I can start in September! I love that I can clip the infant car seat in it. So easy!!!
So now, I'm a 5 stroller mama... but I'm trying to sell one. Waiting for a response from someone who's interested. I'm prepping Sienna's baptism, so that's what's taking most of my time lately.
Heres a pic of Sienna (taken yesterday) my baby girl is getting so big.

@winniebee: Yeah, well that's a grandma for you! LAst weekend when we got to the cottage I tell my Mom that it's Nico's bedtime. So what does she do? Get him ALL wound up playing and laughing and postponing bedtime longer and longer and longer.....then he finally flipped out and I was able to say "see, I told you it was past bedtime". Now when I wrote on my facebook about making bedtime earlier than 8, she is all like "what? but that's not even night time!".
Hey, one day (hopefully) we'll be grandmas too and I'm sure we'll be stirring the pot....that's what grandmas are for!
@Mrs. Sunglasses: I hear you on the cap-lock comment. I feel like after reading that book now I can at least understand why he's crazy and how he got overtired, but I can't always control it. Last night was nuts. I was already feeling worn down because the napping wasn't long enough during the day for me to get good breaks, and then he was so overtired that he couldnt fall asleep at night and was super fussy. In the end I went to bed with him and my boob out and hoped it would all work out, because I was too tired to stay awake. He eventually fell asleep (after me) and I moved him into his crib in the middle of the night. Today he's having a monster morning nap, so I now forgive him for last night.
@Mrs. Sunglasses: That must be so sweet to watch how Mav and Sienna interact. And 5 strollers for you? Fun! That pic of Sienna is so sweet. Makes me want a girl to add to my baby collection. I think I'm going to have to just keep having babies until I get a girl. Watch, I'm going to be one of those crazy 4-boy families.
Nap brag here: 1.5 hours and counting. and loving it
We have the in-laws coming to visit this upcoming weekend. The last time they were here I had a 2 week old and it was dance recital weekend. I am pretty sure I was a terrible host. Hopefully I can make up for that.

I have been following on my phone but I just don't have any time to post. My life has been very chaotic lately. I hope to post with a more detailed update soon, but this is what I have for now:
-w is rolling both ways now, and it keeps her awake at night. She is constantly going back and forth and her sleep is just awful.
-naps don't last any longer than 40 minutes
-she is constantly happy....she doesn't even seem sleep deprived, although I know she is.
-grandmas are driving me nuts too. My family has no respect for the fact that she needs sleep, and they will shove toys in her face and try and get her to laugh even though I have told them a million times it is bed time.
-one of my boobs is producing wayyyyy more milk than the other. Wtf? I feed her equally on both sides, but one is pretty much always empty so I end up feeding her on the other side anyway. Anyone else?
-really regretting not cloth diapering. Need to start my stash now for our next one. Which ones are best?

@Mrsdaredevil: one of mine produces way more than the other too, but it's always been like that for me, even though I switch which side I feed on.
I use flip covers with osocozy prefolds. It's inexpensive and works great. I have a couple newborn thirsties covers too and like them just as much, if not better. I bought a bunch of flip inserts, but have had a lot of leakage issues, so I just use the prefolds instead and they have only ever leaked once and it was overnight. With covers there is no stuffing and if they only peed you can reuse the cover without washing.
I'm 2 days into not having a kitchen and it's going ok. Yesterday i just ordered a bunch of pizza! Liam is sleeping much better, but has been more fussy during the day and chews on his fingers. Maybe he's teething?

Here is a pic from Tylers first boat ride!
@cvbee and @mrsdaedevil: what is it with relatives not respecting sleep?! My MIL says T goes to bed early - since when is 8 early for a baby??
@marriedandlovingit: Cooper is so cute! I was hoping you would post pics!
@mrsdaredevil: I pump so I know that one boob regularly produces 1 oz more than the other. Not sure if that's a lot?
@mrssunglasses: no clue while one day differs to the next. I constantly try to recreate our 8 hour stretch nights.
Vacation is going well - Tyler seems happy and has enerally slept well - at least one good nap a day and nights have been good though we have been going to bed at a normal adult hour (ie 11) and he goes to bed at like 8 so I am more sleep deprived than usual! I think but am not sure if T is teething. E is just drooling soooooo much and gnawing on everyhing. Hard.
We put him in the swing at 6 and it's 730 and hrs sill sleeping. Hasn't eaten since 4. Does he think that was bedtime?! We did no routine just swaddled and plopped him in the swing..... Now do I wake him up to eat before we go to bed?!

Sounds like he is teething! About him sleeping...tired baby! He is bound to wake up at some pt soon. Cooper did the same thing last night. It made things tricky bc we had to keep him upright for half an hr after his feed, thus keeping him awake longer.
Also, thank you!

Alright mamas, I am 3 pages and 6 days behind! Today is my birthday, and one of the best days I have had in a while. I even was able to run for 3 miles today! (I used to be a marathoner, so it feels weird to say how proud I am of “just” 3 miles but I really am proud of it!)
Also my husband took me to base today to buy jewelry (together) for my birthday—a little emerald ring. It is AMAZING!
I’m going to therapy tomorrow—I haven’t posted because I haven’t wanted to write down just how unhappy I have been.
@duckduckkristen: Glad your recovery was so good!
Rolling? YAY!!
And I hope your joints start feeling better!
Glad Liam’s sleep is coming back to normal, too.
@mrsdaredevil: I also don’t turn DH down ever... used to be I had the bigger sex drive, and now he does. It’s actually kind of nice.
Scary about Willa’s rolling! How is that coming along? I don’t have any advice because Gabriel doesn’t roll.
So... looks like you need a grandma intervention! UGH. Family can be less than wonderful sometimes and it is so hard to tell them when that happens. Don’t regret not CDing.... I am so OVER it. I only use gDiapers and “love” them though I haven’t tried others. And honestly didn’t like disposables either.... I guess it’s just easier to blame the cloths for leaking and get mad. When the sposies leak I just think “well, it happens”
Congrats on her church dedication!
@cocobee: So glad Cobi is finally sleeping better—what a relief!
Solids sound like so much FUN!
Your whole family is gluten free? Wow! That is rough.
How did the CD inserts work?

That’s interesting that the mini pill helped with your oversupply issues!

Glad to hear the swaddle helped!
looking forward to the new BJs diaper report. We just joined BJs. We cloth diaper, but I am sick of it.... of course once I stop and realize how much laundry we STILL have.... I might go back.
Congrats on fitting your pre-preg pants! That rocks!
That “gymnastics” photo is so precious I LOVE it!
@winniebee: Is he still getting 12 hours of overnight sleep? I can’t wait to get more than 6-8 hours of overnight sleep! I usually get one “long” stretch 3-5 hours, and then he gets 75 minutes or so at a time. I hate mornings! He never does more than 3 stretches, sometimes I only get that long stretch and usually I get “3-5”, 75minutes, 75 minutes, then AWAKE. And yet... by nap time I am totally incapable of taking a nap.
... Tendinitis, too? I hope you feel better soon!
Glad you’re enjoying vacation!
PS Congrats on the deed.
@regberadaisy: I agree that being tired is a bad reason not to have sex. There are plenty of good reasons though—like not being ready, or needing to relearn how to feel/act sexy.
Is she still rocking on her side?
Yay for laughing –an laughing on video!
Those peaches look SOOooooo good.
RE: screaming—don’t worry about the coffee. You know “decaf” coffee only removes half the caffeine (plus some other delicious aromatics)—if you want “real” coffee, just drink half a cup. It’s not the coffee causing the screams. I hope it’s just the diet or something like that.... Good luck!
And congrats on 4 months!
@kiddosc: Ethan is so cute! I love those little boots. And no, we stopped swaddling and just tuck a blanket around him (like the seaweed rolled around sushi if LO is the fish and the mattress is the rice). It keeps him nice and “wrapped” but he can pull his arms out if he wants and it works well, I guess. Or maybe it doesn’t considering everyone else’s LO sleeps so much more!
@cvbee: Gabriel is 16lbs 1 ounce, too! And 25.75, too.
Avoid over the counter what for colds? I am confused. We got some saline drops to “break up the mucus” and immediately suction. It’s helping with his cold.
Thanks for the heads up about falls!
What a cutie Nico (still) is!
Hope the daddy putting him to bed during mommy-yoga time gets better!
And... I plan on starting him with a spoon and breast milk at 4 months. When he gets the spoon thing, we’ll start some solids (like a spoonful a day, I’m guessing).
Re; naps. We are working SO hard to get naps in. It is really hard to get our little boy-wonder to stop staring wide eyed at things and actually sleep!
Hope your cramps go away soon! Hope you are OK!
@lags: How is the sleep going now? I hope it is getting better!
@mrs.m57: Good luck on shots this week!
And... I’m not making purees at all. I’ll make stuff as he “asks” for it—and I might even *gasp* BUY some.
Gabriel does the blood curdling scream thing about twice a day—and it still scares the crap out of me!
How is Lily doing now?
@ goldilocks1107: How cute that she’s rocking! Sounds adorable to watch. And how are you feeling?
How is her rash? Totally gone?
@mediagirl: I wear a bra or lingerie during sex now since the boobies are not really “ours” anymore. It helps a lot!
Glad the flight went great—hope to hear more soon.

I am so behind again. I just don't seem to have a ton of down time lately. We went back to my hometown for the weekend again, to celebrate my birthday with family (though my actual birthday isn't for a few days).
We are in teething hell again ... Sawyer has been chomping at things since we got back, and he is very clingy! He was up every 2 hours the other night crying, I think because his mouth hurts. I nurse him back to sleep, because I feel like that is the best thing I can do at night ... I am going to go out tomorrow and pick up some teething tabs.
I have also been trying to get our garden harvested, which isn't happening very quickly. I am going to put aside some of our garden veggies (puree, and freeze some whole for a modified BLW approach) for Sawyer when he is ready for solids. I have also been meeting up with the local cloth diapering Mom group once a week or so, it is nice to find some camaraderie!
I finally got the arms up swaddle sacks today so I washed them today and we will give them a shot tonight. We gave Sawyer a nice long bath and massage, then got him into the swaddle sack. He didn't like it at first, but he is asleep now. I have also ordered a sound machine, because ocean wave sounds put him to sleep in no time flat, and I would like my iPhone back!
Tomorrow my DH has a doctors appointment, so hopefully we will have more of an idea of what is going on, and I can let you guys know what is going on ...
@Mrs.M57: The crying sounds like Sawyer with the teething. He will be fine, then all of a sudden sob! Is Lilly chewing on things a lot and drooling up a storm?
@cvbee: Sounds like starting solids is going well for you guys! I have the same book that I have started skimming, but I think my shift work throughout pregnancy has impacted Sawyer's sleep/wake cycle. No matter what I try I cannot get the kid to bed earlier than 10 pm!
@Coco Bee: I love the Albert diaper! I have been searching for an Albert Flip cover with snaps, but I can't find one in Canada
@winniebee: 7 or 8 hours of sleep sounds like heaven!

I am nursing her on that side a little more, and plan to feed her more often tomorrow. I really don't want to take antibiotics, but will if I have to. Now, we'll see if I am feeling better in a couple of hours and if we can still continue with birthday outing plans.
Any insight on who to call if I do have mastitis? Midwife? PCP?

@Mrs. Sunglasses: those babies just love to trip us up!! Last couple nights despite waking often she has let me put her back in the crib so I'm gooood.
@cvbee: hope you get to have alone time with your husband when the ILs visit! Mine are coming at the end of September and I can't wait! And are you OK? Were you able to sleep?
@calsmom: SO cute! New username?!?
@Mrsdaredevil: my boob goes thru those phases too. Generally the left one produces more and then it'll equalize itself. Yay for the dedication! Pictures???
@duckduckkristen: How old is Liam? I can't imagine living in a house with the kitchen demo'd! our cabinets have been sitting in the living room for over a month. Can't wait to see them up. What kind of counters did you end up going with?
@pastemoo: there's nothing wrong with buying purees! I"m planning on buying some pouches for when we're out and about. I'm planning to buy a few from Ella's Kitchen, Earth's Best and Plum Organics to see which one M likes better.
And what's wrong??? I hope therapy helps. *hugs*
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
@MsMini: yea, our garden is out of control. I've been meaning to harvest the beans so that I can take the peas out to make purees. Ugh.
@bpcmarj: oh no!! I thought for a brief moment that I had mastitis yesterday. Scary. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Ladies, I feel like the worst mom ever. Remember how way up there I posted about M being a terror. She was the same way again last night. Crying and fussing at the boob but I knew from her daycare sheet that the last time she ate was 4 hours ago so no way she was not hungry. So as a last resort I put 2 ounces in a bottle to see if she'll take that. Well she guzzled it down. I then transferred her to boob and she immediately fell asleep. I don't know if my milk is not coming out fast enough and it's frustrating her. Baby hungry = mommy epic FAIL.

@pastemoo: Hang in there! I saw from some other posts around the bee that you've been having a tough time too. Hope things start to turn around for you too. I'm not 100% better yet, but I'm definitely not as "down" as I was and am better able to control my feelings. I have a follow-up appointment with my doctor on Friday to see if we stay at 20mg of Prozac or if we need to up it a little more. Since you're a marathoner, think of your mental trip as another 26.2 mile race.
Audrey's rash is totally gone. And I'm already on my second cycle post-baby. This period is definitely not as bad as the first one post-baby. Maybe the Mirena is already helping with that?
@MsMini: Fingers crossed for good news for you and DH today!
@bpcmarj: Happy birthday and I hope your present to yourself was NOT mastitis! I would think you'd call the doctor for that one?
@calsmom: It's going to take me awhile to get used to the new username, but thanks for the warning!
@regberadaisy: It's not a fail! She's just too impatient and wants food NOW! If nothing else, pump so you're ready for those moments and hopefully things will calm down soon.

@MsMini: I'm impressed that you have time to garden!
Good luck to your husband. And I hope Sawyer is done teething soon and stops waking you up so much. I hope the new arms up swaddle sack will help, too.
And thanks for the birthday wishes!
@bpcmarj: I hope you get an emerald ring! And happy birthday!
I hope you feel better and have a good birthday!
I would call your PCP.
@calsmom: Hi Did you nickname Cooper Cal?
@regberadaisy: I know nothing about solids.... I thought the pouches were for toddlers? I'm just planning on buying some of the little jars. Plus you can do so much with those adorable baby food jars!
Sorry about the nursing "fun" last night. At the hospital, before my milk came in (I swear it took forever!), I dripped formula down my boob, so he was still latched but he got milk from the boob instead of the bottle. I don't know if you can try that (since it worked for us but it was when he was so much littler!).
@Goldilocks1107: Thanks

@pastemoo: happy birthday!!!
AF has not returned yet. Liam still eats every 2 hours during the day so I'm not thinking it will come back soon.
I'm considering therapy too. I'm not depressed and I love being a mom, but my anxiety is starting to get out of control. I have such a ridiculous constant fear that something bad will happen (tornado, car accident, break in).
@MsMini: Happy early birthday! Hope everything is ok with your husband.
@bpcmarj: Happy birthday! So many bdays this week!
I'm thinking you would call your midwife? Hope you feel better!
@regberadaisy: Liam is a week shy of 4 months. My plan for the timing of the kitchen renovation was to do it at the end of the summer because that way it would be warm enough, but not too hot, to still grill and be outside to avoid the noise, and I wanted the whole thing done before Liam starts solids in a couple months. So, because I planned it like that it's not too bad. Plus we worked it out so I'll only be without a kitchen 3 weeks max and we have a mini kitchen in the basement, so it hasn't been too bad yet.
I had the same issue with Liam not taking the breast, but taking a bottle instead about a month ago. For a few weeks there were just times where he wanted a bottle instead. I never figured out why, but he got over it, and now doesn't like bottles much.

Gals, it was indeed an attack of the kidney stone, yet again. Fun night barfing my guts out from the pain and then gathering up baby and DH so DH could drive me to emerge. And they were sooo slow in emerge, it took more than an hour for them to hook me up with pain meds.....last time it was like 5 minutes. I was so mad. And of course, just after we got Nico's sleep so 'perfect' this happened. He didn't wake up when we put him in the car, but he did wake up at the hospital and then was a cranky cranky baby for the 3 hours we were there and any time we'd put him back to sleep, he'd wake up from a curious noise, or even just the lights going off. NEedless to say, SUCH a long night. DH babysat today while I went for an ultrasound....I'll have to wait to get results. And while DH was on babysitting duty nap 1 was only 20 minutes, so now I just spent soooooo long getting Nico down for nap 2. Bah!
And now I will read and reply.
Edit: I really enjoyed reading all of that, but I am way too exhausted to reply. I might take my first nap ever...have never napped during the day since giving birth. But today I think I will fall asleep. Thanks for the updates all.

@cvbee: Goodness! You poor thing! I hate the ER, esp with an infant in tow. Our son screamed a nice portion of the time there.
What the hell is up with kidney stones between you and my hubs?! He's at the hospital now getting an xray, then will be heading to the urologist afterwards.
Will they break it down if necessary? I'm so sorry you have to deal with this again. Hugs!
@Pastemoo: CAL are Cooper's initials.
About the Similac coupon....yay! Love it. What's your email? Mine is Elizabethla78 at gmail.
@Goldilocks1107: I will be dropping the coupons in today's mail!

Well, first night in the arms up sleep sack was mixed. It took him longer to fall asleep, but he had ok sleep stretches (3.5-4 hours). I think it will take him a bit to get used to though, I am going to keep trying it for the rest of the week for naps and bedtime, and hope that once he adjusts that makes the difference.
I am going to head out in a bit for our cloth diaper mom meetup, and later this afternoon DH has his appointment (he is going solo to this one).
@Coco Bee: I would love it if you could do that for me. If you want to email me your paypal address to j.welch at me.com I can email you my address, and I will send you money through paypal for the diaper and shipping!
@bpcmarj: Happy Birthday! I think that sounds like mastitis. Luckily, once you get on anti-biotics you feel better quickly from what I have been told.
@regberadaisy: I don't think you failed, you have no control over how your boob makes and expresses milk. In fact, the fact that you figured out a solution at the moment shows what a good mom you are.
@cvbee: Oh no! I hope you start to feel better soon.
