@Happygal: Haha! Thanks! I'm not really disappointed. There was nothing the doctors or I could have done. It is what it is.
Does that mean the spine is on the outside for you? I think our kids are in the same position but LO has his spine on the inside so his face is facing outwards. So I get mostly him sticking his head out or his hands out or his knee out. The doctors were definitely pushing around his head and knees while taking the u/s. He's actually not in an uncomfortable position... what's nice is that he's not pushing on my bladder at all... so I don't have to pee as often as I did with my first LO.
From the u/s his head is basically side ways on my left side with his little hands fisted underneath his chin and his one foot in fetal position and the other foot in my cervic.
It is comforting to know he has room to turn if he feels like it... so it makes me think your LO had room to turn too!
Good luck to us both. Haha. Did you schedule your c-section yet?

@Raindrop: Ugh, that's frustrating. Hope he'll turn and stay before your c-section date.

@Raindrop: I was thinking about your ECV last night, haha. Sorry it didn't work out, but sounds like things are still up in the air so at least there is still a little chance.

@Raindrop: ugh! I hope he is nice and flips on his own for you
@Mrs. Blue: ughh I hope it's pre-labor yuck and not coming down with a cold yuck!!

I've been in a black hole over here. First O was sick for over a week, then my husband and I caught it (but not nearly as bad as she did). We are both still a little stuffy but pretty much over the worst of it. I've been in this antisocial funk..just wanting to hole up, spend time at home and rest.
Plus, I'm trying to avoid giving anyone our cold (so that they can visit when baby is born!) and catch anything else!! haha. so I guess hermits we will be
On the bright side, even sick I have cleaned the crap out of my house. I just have to steam mop the downstairs, and clean or replace the blinds in the upstairs bathroom (leaning toward replace because I'm just over cleaning). Bag is packed, laundry is done.. ready to go!!
Hoping for good dilation news on Wednesday at my appointment or they won't induce me (unless I'm 3 cm). Which has me all sorts of stressed and panicking because of my history. Sigh.

@sorrycharlie: Thanks for the support!
Wow you are amazing for still cleaning and getting ready!!
Good luck on your appointment!

@Raindrop: Hmmmm....not really sure of the placement. It's confusing. I was a little excited to have one more ultrasound, but a 38 week ultrasound is pretty squished. I like the odds your doctor gave you--mine said it was much, much lower than that! I think I've realized I'm harboring a day dream that we'll go in and find out last minute she's flipped.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@Happygal: It could happen!! I was day dreaming that I would go into the ECV today and they would tell me... well he's head down actually ... you are good to go! That didn't happen of course. But we can still dream! Hehe.

@Raindrop: sorry baby did not cooperate today....or maybe only half cooperated!
over here, i am still sick sick sick...i am so sick of being unhealthy. my cough is so terrible it keeps me up at night and my abs are so sore from coughing so hard. bad thing is that its just a nasty virus and i can't do much except treat the symptoms. hoping baby waits for at least a week so i can get better. i have had zero signs of impending labor except maybe painful BH contractions that feel like terrible indigestion.
hope all you ladies are making progress and get good news from your dr's!

@SleepyMonkey: Thanks! I just read what mrs. lion wrote on my post and she says she read that some babies go transverse before going head down. So that gives me hope!
Sorry you are so sick!! I hope you feel better soon. Rest as much as you can!!

My doc is letting me wait until Friday to do an induction. Here's hoping something happens before then!! I've been really crampy, so who knows.
cantaloupe / 6086 posts
@CatchAFallingStar: yay for the date you want! I'm planning a Friday induction too, hope we both go earlier
@Raindrop: @Happygal: I hope both you ladies get a late turn! I'm curious when do they schedule the section for breech? My SIL wants to go to 40 weeks (she's 34 now so lots of time) but not sure they will let her. Do they try to catch you before spontaneous labor?
pomelo / 5000 posts
@bhbee: My c-section is schedule for 1/22, a day before I'm at 40 weeks. I don't know if they waited that long b/c it's the only date they could get with the hospital, or if they're waiting in hopes she'll turn (I'll ask on Friday!) I skimmed an article that said it can be beneficial to go into labor for the baby--hormones and things kick in that prepare the baby for being born. But an argument can be made (in my non-medical opinion) for avoiding all that so you don't have a woman who is tired and sore and a bit freaked out before surgery.
I personally hope that I do NOT go into labor before my scheduled c-section date. I'd prefer to be the first one into the hospital in the AM and have things be nice and calm.

@Radish: I meant to say "thank you" for your reply earlier. Just knowing that someone else feels the same way made me feel much better!
pomelo / 5000 posts
@SleepyMonkey: oh, I'm so sorry. I had a cough for just one day and was amazed at how bad it felt when big and pregnant! Hope it clears up for you soon.
grapefruit / 4731 posts
@bhbee: Thanks for the well wishes. I am going in on wedneday to meet my OB to schedule my c-section. I definitely know they want to do it at 39 weeks so I don't go into labor early. I think my hospital is interesting.... it's Kaiser not sure if any of you know that name but they have strong beliefs in vaginal deliveries are the best and safest and c-sections before labor are the second best and safest. So they really want to make sure that they do it before labor starts.
Especially for me since I have nothing in my cervix ... no head or butt if my body starts push things down .... the cord is the scarest thing and could cause a lot of problems. They told me all this during my failed ECV today. I will let you know on wednesday when my c-section date is.
@Happygal: That's very interesting! I wonder if your hospital does hope the baby will turn and is giving it as much time as possible!

Labor is back ... Woke me up and seeing blood this time so hoping it doesn't stop again. Definitely intensified when I got up to make lo's lunch for preschool just in case - hoping that's a good sign!

@bhbee: Wow exciting! Good luck! I'll be up for a few more hours. I'll keep checking this thread till I fall asleep!

@keepcalmcarrie: @Raindrop: definitely happening this time! Felt water break so no going back now

@bhbee: yay awesome news! Happy labor thoughts coming your way!
@Raindrop: bummer about the whole ECV. But I think you have a great layed back attitude about it so maybe it will work out in your favor. FX!
@sorrycharlie: sorry you're sick too. We're all slowly back to normal here with just some occasional coughs (after over 3 weeks!). We're all hoping little lady didn't catch anything. We shall see.
Also second labors can be so different from first labors. I really hope I'll find a couple of minutes this afternoon to write up my birthstory because it's just soooooo different than my first.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
Water broke, 4 cm and being admitted! Light meconium in the fluid, so hoping all is fine.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@Mrs. Blue: Dear Mrs. Foever Pregnant, I feel for you since I've been there too. With our first pregnancies you surpassed me (I know not fair to compare because of twins ;-)). If I remember correctly you had an April due date and March babies and I had a March due date and April baby
All joking aside my fingers are so tightly crossed that you'll go into labor soon!
I really hope that everyone can avoid their inductions (who don't want one) and the babies cooperate and make it on their own.
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@sorrycharlie: Ahhh yay! Good luck I had meconium too and all was fine so FX same things goes for you!!! Exciting!
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@Pumuckl: Hahahahaha! Well, that is true, but in my defense, I was measuring 44 weeks pregnant at the time! It's an odd feeling this time to just wait for a baby who should be developmentally ready to come out. Last time, I was so miserable, but I couldn't really wish them to be born any earlier than they had to be. Here's hoping I join you on the other side soon. Is your little man still adjusting well to baby sister?
pomegranate / 3601 posts
@Mrs. Blue: yes he is. Although you can tell that sometimes he doesn't know what's going on and gets irritated. If J cries then he's always telling us that she's hurting. So cute! You can tell he is processing things though because this morning he kept getting his paci and lovey out of his crib (normally they stay in the crib). We let him have them but gently kept reminding him that they belong in the crib. So we'll see how it continues to work out.

@Raindrop: hope baby gets where he needs to be!
@CatchAFallingStar: that's great your doctor is letting you wait! Fingers crossed you can get something started before then!
I'm already getting overwhelmed by all the friends/family asking "when baby is going to arrive". When it happens, you will know. It's not like I'm going to run off an hide the baby from you!!
Any tips for dealing with all the (well intentioned) nosiness?

@bhbee: @sorrycharlie: woohoo!! Today will be an active day on our boards!!! Good luck to you both!

Ladies, just realized my pf changs fortune was right - go get some Chinese food and see when your baby will arrive!!
Thanks for many good wishes on the other board

@charmed: I ended up having E the day before my due date, but from about 38 weeks on people were asking THE question. I'd just say "I think she's pretty happy in there--but we'll be meeting her soon no matter what!" Or something to that effect. If people really pushed, I'd explain that my practice would let me go to 42 weeks max. Good luck with the nosies!

She's here! 6 lb 4 oz (!! Peanut!) at 9:33 am. Born in 3 pushes! She's already great at nursing - in fact, that's all she wants to do. Ow.

37.5 week checkup today. Went from a 1 to a 3 over the last week, which surprised me because I haven't felt too many contractions (which I know you don't want to hear @Mrs. Blue). Thinking this girl will actually come in January.

@Pumuckl: Thanks!! I hope everything works out. Haha well I'm totally a-type and so I read a ton and I know csections are pretty safe so I just keep telling myself that. That seems to work for me.
@charmed: Thanks I have been doing a ton of spinning baby stuff. Haha. We will see if LO decides to turn or not.
@bhbee: @sorrycharlie: Congrats you two!!
@Radish: Yay! For my last kid I was 3 cm at 40 weeks with no contractions yet either. After she did the membrane thing ... I got a ton of braxton hicks contractions and when I went in for labor 3 days later I was 6 cm. Good luck!!
