So this is funny. I just announced to my co-workers I'm expecting. A lot of them came by and asked me what the sex was... I said boy... then they said oh third time is the charm! I believe they mean that if I try for a third I should get a girl. I'm like wait a second let's get this one out of the oven first people!
Also one of them has 3 boys and for that one I said yeah sure 3 boys guys.

@Raindrop: ugh! People are so annoying sometimes! You new boy is going to be a whole new person with their own little personality, look and identity outside of their sex. And how do they know you even want more children? What a lame thing to say.

It's quite possible that I missed a discussion of this, but what's everyone's thoughts in the nursery? I have no idea what we'll do. Nothing major, but we'll at least paint and put up a few just-for-him decorations.

@Mrs. Blue: Congratulations!
For the nursery, we're painting a dark gray on the walls (we have white trim) and my husband is making baby girl a crib. I'm crocheting a blanket that's silver-grey, pink, and teal. That's about all I know.

@Mrs. Blue: Once we move later this month we will paint the walls either a white or light blue - the house has craftsman style wood trim which I love but am having trouble figuring out what colors will work. I posted a quilt on our facebook group that is the loose color scheme for the room. Reusing a lot of LO1s old stuff and adding few new art pieces and I need to figure out curtains.

@pmrlady: Yeah, I shouldn't complain. Mine isn't very restrictive. I can still bend forward and see my toes

@Mrs. Blue: we just got the drywall up in the nursery... Thank goodness. I was worried for a while this baby would come home to a room without walks. I think we'll do cream and a soft green like a laduree box.

@Mrs. Blue: We are moving LO to a bigger room so instead of having to decorate another nursery we have to work on a little girl's room.

Our little guy will be rooming with us for a while. We'll reuse DS1's mini crib and bedding. Poor second child.

@Mrs. Blue: we did custom bedding only (no paint since it was an apartment) for #1 and when we moved this summer we started on her big girl room (right now she still sleeps in crib in the not really decorated nursery). We are doing different bedding for #2 and he will also get curtains and such to spice it up more since we have more space now. Thankfully my mom sews all the bedding and curtains for us! It was fun to pick fabrics again.

@Mrs. Blue: we are going wallpaper the whole room in a vintage circus print and then I'm painting an old dresser a nice bright colour.

@Mrs. Blue: our nursery is small, but big enough. I'm fighting an inner type A not to repaint it. We had someone paint it an off white before we moved in. He didn't use a primer, so the previous yellow makes it much more yellow than I wanted. Paint splatters everywhere. It's a bad job, but I hate putting more money into a rental!
The room is small, so we'll stick to a pretty simple design. There are built in bookshelves, so I'm looking for baskets. They can get expensive or look really cheap! Anyone know where to get baskets at an affordable price?

Leg cramps--anyone else dealing with these? I had to hop out of bed with a big charlie horse two nights ago and my leg is still aching today.

@Happygal: I had this issue when I was pregnant the last time. I would drink a little powerade before bed, and that really helped!

@Happygal: I'll get cramps if I'm not drinking enough water. You can also try getting some extra magnesium and potassium in your diet (or taking a supplement, or some sports drinks will have them too)

@Happygal: Last pregnancy, yes! I don't think I'm far enough this time (20 weeks today, you just reminded me!) but I expect to experience them again.

@Radish: I'm 21 weeks today! Congrats on being half way through this thing.
@Charmed: I'm definitely bad at keeping up with water intake now that I'm back at school. My yoga teacher also recommended a calcium/magnesium supplement. I'm going to ask my doctor today about it.
I forgot to mention I have an OB appointment today. I suspect it will be very boring (in a good way)! We talked more about dogs than babies last time.

@Happygal: I had one last week and could barely walk the next day! So painful. I talked with my doc about it and she said that the new thinking is to increase iron intake and rehydrate. One week in and I haven't had another one.

@Happygal: Yes! Ugh, leg cramps with #1 and now for a few nights with #2. So painful!! Good idea about the sports drinks @Cupcake: and @charmed:. I drink plenty of water every day (about 90-100 oz) but I still got/get them. I'll have to try that before bed tonight.

OB appt. was boring/good. 130 heart rate, normal weight gain for me. He approves of a glass of wine every now and then, and a small glass of red may sound appealing as the temps cool off!
