@charmed: gap.com sells maternity jeans by length.

@oliviaoblivia: I think the big reason I made it was thanks to my little internal heater...man, I was always SO hot with my first LO! I was in tank tops in the middle of winter at work (when ususally I'm in a sweater trying to stay warm in the middle of summer!) I'm just hoping that I don't get too much bigger otherwise I may be out of luck this time around.

We've been a little slow over here, so I figured I'd come up with a little status survey.

    Days left until due date:
Next up on baby to-do list:
    Most looking forward to:

    persimmon / 1313 posts

@Radish: Yay this sounds like fun!

Days left until due date: 104 which is SCARY to think about.
Next up on baby to-do list: Registering this weekend and ordering shower invitations.
Most looking forward to: Bringing home a baby!
Stressed about: The nursery. We were supposed to be "on top of it" like months ago and the room still is the same. We're moving into busy season so I'm not sure where the time will come to get this done.

  5. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

@Radish: I was just thinking it got slow too. The boring part of pregnancy! lol

Days left until due date:ummm no idea. poor second child. about 17 weeks left.
Next up on baby to-do list: paint the nursery!
Most looking forward to:having the nursery painted so I can start nesting, sorting and crafting
Stressed about: not super stressed at the moment!

  6. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

Days left until due date: 133

Next up on baby to-do list: Once we move, finally go through all DD's old baby stuff and make sure I have everything I need.

Most looking forward to: Right now being in our new house and getting it ready for baby. Obviously, super excited for her to come, but so not ready at the moment.

Stressed about: Switching doctors and having the hospital be 40 min away instead of 5, having our house put together before baby arrives and I'm suddenly worried that she will be breech.

  7. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@sorrycharlie: Haha, I had to put a counter on my phone because I had no idea how many days were left.

  8. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

    Fun!

Days left until due date: 106!
Next up on baby to-do list: Paint sample swatches on the nursery wall, then pick one and paint the whole thing!
Most looking forward to: MEETING HER!!!! (And in the meantime, having all my loved ones together for showers.)
Stressed about: Our house. There's just so much we want to do to get ready and have things clean and uncluttered...and so much that I'm thinking we won't get done.

  9. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@mfa_lady: Ooo I want to see what color you end up with. Paint colors are driving me nuts right now.

  10. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Radish: We're going with a dark gray--but I have three versions to pick from. Haha. Grays are just so hard to figure out without seeing them...I'm hoping to paint them tonight, but my work day is making me think that I might not get to it. I'll let you know!

  11. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

@mfa_lady: we just painted two grays on the wall and it took me hours in front of the computer to narrow down to those two samples. good lord. I'm forcing myself to choose one because I'm not spending $20 on samples! lol!

  12. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@sorrycharlie: Right? That is why I'm being so picky about the samples I get in the first place - I don't want to pay for samples. Also, the computer is super unhelpful because they look nothing like what they look like on their swatch card. I was making photoshop design boards for all my rooms and the screen color was like 10 times darker/more saturated than the swatch.

  13. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@mfa_lady: Oooh nice. I think all colors are hard to tell until you see them on the wall... I am trying to narrow down different colors to one to figure out what color I want. Of course I'm doing it for like 8 different rooms so that might be why it is more overwhelming for me right now.

Days left until due date: 114 days, ahhh!

Next up on baby to-do list: painting his dresser - luckily the room was painted green already and I just had to touch it up instead of repainting it completely.

Most looking forward to: getting his room organized instead of being a dumping ground for all the stuff in our house that doesn't have home!

Stressed about: Money! I just started using YNAB and am sort of stressing about how little we have leftover each month now that I am tracking it so closely. My previous "budget" said there would be way more than enough for baby #2's daycare but now I'm getting nervous.

  15. oliviaoblivia

    pineapple / 12793 posts

Days left until due date: 104/ 101 to c-section date... Still waffling on that
Next up on baby to-do list: finish the mudding in the nursery then painting. We have all the furniture already. I'm ordering carpet this weekend.
Most looking forward to: seeing DD1 with a sister. She's obsessed with babies right now.
Stressed about: not having the house done on time.

  16. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

Days left until due date: 131 days (I only know because I took Radish's number and subtracted two since she's due two days after me! :)) Just like sorry charlie... poor second child.

Next up on baby to-do list: Nothing! We kept everything from LO and so we don't think we need anything new since it's the same sex. They will be sharing a room indefinitely after LO #2 hangs out in our room in his crib for 6 months to a year.

Most looking forward to: Meeting our new little guy.

Stressed about: I really hope everything that is going wrong in this pregnancy resolves itself. Doctors are pretty confident that they will but we will see. All in all though they aren't the worst things and LO is perfectly fine so I'm mostly okay if the worst cases happen. It still worries me though.

  17. Espion

    pomegranate / 3577 posts

Days left until due date: I have no idea. Just like @sorrycharlie: poor second child! Although we are trying to decide when to schedule the c-section. Probably sometime the week after I'm due.

Next up on baby to-do list: I actually don't really have a to do list at all. We didn't do a nursery for E and we won't do one for this one, because we (literally) don't have the room for it. Besides, this little one will sleep in our room for the first 6 months or so. We'll figure out bedroom sharing after that.

Most looking forward to: A cuter baby bump. I'm getting there! Most people still act shocked that I'm 5 1/2 months along, which I guess is a good thing...

Stressed about: Nothing really. I'm not looking forward to the newborn days all that much, but it makes me all dewy and nostalgic at the same time.

  18. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@oliviaoblivia: A is also obsessed with babies! I'm really hoping she isn't over it by the time January rolls around.

@MrsTiger: If the walls would not clash with my furniture/decor I would totally leave them as is for the nursery. They are currently BM grecian green and my rocker recliner is lime green.

@Raindrop: Jealous of nothing to do. I considered going the route of them sharing a room after baby being in our room for a couple of months, but I really want to ensure that everyone is getting the best sleep possible and we technically have the extra room.

  19. HappyBaker

    nectarine / 2242 posts

@Radish: Ha too funny - ours are BM Kennubunkport Green and our glider is lime green (from my daughter nursery). I'm just going to put a big blanket and pillows on it!

  20. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@MrsTiger: Haha, nice! I'm kind of annoyed because the owners painted the whole house to get it ready to sell, but they used colors I don't love so I'm painting over fairly new paint. I wish they had just used whites or beige because I could live with those.

  21. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@Radish: We are in a weird situation. We live in a townhouse and we have 4 rooms but we have one room on the bottom story (guest room for now), one room in the middle story (office for now) and 2 rooms on top story (master's and LO's room). We are very uncomfortable having our LOs on different floors till they are way older. We aren't sure what age we would be comfortable having them in different stories. Honesty we thought we would have moved by now but we still feel for us the housing market is just too rich for our blood.

  22. Radish

    nectarine / 2079 posts

@Raindrop: Ew, that is a hard set up. I would do the same, I couldn't sleep on a different floor than my child until I was confident they could easily handle any emergency situation.

  23. Espion

    pomegranate / 3577 posts

@Raindrop: That's our exact situation. We have an office downstairs we could convert, but there is no way we are sending our toddler downstairs that soon. I have no idea what we're going to do, but we're going to shove cotton in our ears and sing La!La!La! until we have to figure it out.

  24. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@Radish: I know! I think EW all the time! I really wish we thought this through more 4 years ago but we bought what we needed / could afford at the time so no regrets. As weird as this is we didn't think we would have kids so fast! I wish housing prices were more affordable. As it is... if we bought our townhouse now we couldn't afford it. That is so weird to think about!

@Espion: LOL! Our rooms are pretty small but we are able to fit a twin bunk bed and a crib into LO's room pretty nicely. I believe our rooms are 10 feet by 10 feet. So this should work for us for a while. We will just put LO #1 on the top bunk when LO #2 is old enough to get out of his bed. They could share the bottom bunk for awhile though. Haha.

@bhbee: I'm going to see if my mom can hem one of the straight leg jeans. The bootcut ones are so long I think they might look weird hemmed (bought them used for $7.50, so it's not too much of a loss)

@oliviaoblivia: I'll have to check out Gap's jeans - thanks!

Thanks for getting the thread going again, @Radish: !

Days left until due date: 113!

Next up on baby to-do list: Registering, and coordinating a date for baby showers with the hostesses.

Most looking forward to: Getting pictures taken with DH next month. Just doing a little "mini session" with a photographer, but I'm excited to have professional photos done.

Stressed about: Weight gain I've gained about 2lbs/week this month and I have no idea how. I don't have a problem gaining if that's what baby needs, but if feels like too much too fast!

  26. Snowdrop

Days left until due date: 138!

Next up on baby to-do list: I'm knitting a blanket and DH is wallpapering.

Most looking forward to: obviously meeting baby but in the mire short term, having the nursery done.

Stressed about: writing my 15,000 word dissertation with baby brain!

  27. bhbee

    cantaloupe / 6086 posts

@charmed: if it makes you feel any better I had one of those months with #1. my OB said not to worry if I hadn't changed my habits because you don't gain weight in a linear fashion while pregnant and it evens out (or it's swelling that you will easily lose after baby).

Days left until due date: 118?

Next up on baby to-do list: my mom made our crib bedding and our mobile (from etsy) should arrive soon, so looking forward to setting that up. as of last weekend #1 is sleeping in her big girl room!

Most looking forward to: having the baby - I'm over feeling sick so much this pregnancy! also the big sister thing for LO

Stressed about: the flip side of having two - keeping them both happy without going insane!

  28. Raindrop

    grapefruit / 4731 posts

@charmed: Ooo You are so good. I want to get professional photos done but have been too lazy / busy to set a date and contact someone. They will be great memories for the time it was just the two of you!

    @Snowdrop: 15k paper! Good luck! ^_^

Days left until due date: 103! (my due date is actually January 1st)

Next up on baby to-do list: Baby shower, finalizing registry, getting more winter-weather maternity clothes

Most looking forward to: getting the registry gifts, seeing the baby kick and move in my belly (although I think I'll be a little freaked out at first)

Stressed about: my weight gain and feeling super uncomfortable as the bump grows, the actual labor and delivery part

Days left til due date: 136
Nexus up on the baby to-do list: make baby to-do list? more like get my craft/storage room finished so I can move my stuff down there and move LO to his big boy room so I can get the nursery back on order for his little brother.
Most forward to: eating as much as I want at thanksgiving and Christmas? ? Hahaha
Stressed about: how I'm going to handle a newborn and a 2 yr old at the same time!

  31. Happygal

    pomelo / 5000 posts

Days left until due date: I have no idea and prefer to keep it that way for now.

Next up on baby to-do list: Ummm....everything? I've researched baby gear, but haven't registered or purchased anything. I have an idea of what we'll be going for with the nursery, but we haven't purchased a thing either! I met another January mom-to-be who is already taking baby classes b/c she wants to avoid them during the holidays. Guess I should look into that. One of my labor books lists ways to cope with pain during delivery and they're things to start practicing now, so yeah--put that on the list, too!

Most looking forward to: Our ultrasound on the 26th.

Stressed about: In just the last few days, it seems like the baby went from being a rock n' roller to being a bit more chilled out. The ultrasound will hopefully make me feel better.

I also get these waves of anxiety where I feel like I should be doing more to enjoy the pregnancy or capture moments, like photos or classes or things like that.

And I saw someone mentioned child care--we should try to line that up. It's expensive and the best places are competitive with wait lists, and it will probably take half my paycheck. Ouch.

Hi ladies! I dropped off for a long time, but I'm still here. I've been more of a lurker on HelloBee, so I'm trying to turn myself into a more active member. I learn so much from the threads, and I'm feeling really good at this point (was so nervous about the pregnancy at the beginning!), so expect to see more of me

I've been excited to see all the boy and girl reveals - we had our anatomy scan several weeks ago and decided to stay team green. I was all for it until this past week when I've been picking things out for our registry, and had no idea how boy/girl specific so much nursery stuff is!

Our next appt is Sept 26, and I can't wait - even though we'll just hear the heartbeat, I'm really excited.

Days left until due date: 120ish I think? My baby center app sends an automatic notification through, and that's the last one I remember. I'm due on Jan 16.
Next up on baby to-do list: Finish registering, tour the hospital, sign up for classes on birth preparation
Most looking forward to: meeting this baby in January Moving into our new place in October, and decorating the nursery.
Stressed about: what the third trimester will feel like. I have felt awesome throughout the second trimester, and in the last few days my back has been sore, I feel more physically uncomfortable, the kicks are waking me up at night sometimes. I am so happy to be pregnant, and know I have it pretty easy, but trying to stay optimistic that I'll feel good most of the way through.

How are you ladies doing on the name decision?

We have a name picked out for the time being, but I am still looking for a better one. I am so picky when it comes to girls names and have so many little hangups I can't get past. I've kind of sidelined the obsessive name search for the time being, but I'm sure as the due date gets closer I'll be searching again.

  38. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@Radish: We have two ideas at the moment. Girl names are SO HARD for us. Unless something else comes to us in the next few months, we'll choose between those two (different first names, middle name is set) when she's born.

  39. sorrycharlie

    hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts

@Radish: @mfa_lady: I think we are also down to two names. I can't pick!

  40. mfa_lady

    pomegranate / 3921 posts

@sorrycharlie: Me either. In our case, one is a name we just both really like, and the other is a spinoff of my mom's middle name. I think that's what's making it hard for us! We love them both, but feel like we should be choosing the one that's a family-ish name.
