    @mfa_lady: That sounds super cute! I take really lame videos too but those are always the best to look back on.

    @oliviaoblivia: Thanks lady! I definitely don't wish this pregnancy away but if it could be shorter that would be nice. I know how important it is to keep that bun in the oven, but can January somehow come sooner?

    @oliviaoblivia: Same here! Also usually right around dinnertime--a girl after my own heart. Ha!

    I totally zoned out at a meeting today because she was be-bopping all around and I couldn't stop staring at my belly. Oops!

    @Raindrop: I hope you feel better soon! Pregnancy isn't kind to everyone and I think it's totally ok for you to feel this way.

    @mfa_lady: Watching her move is my favorite thing! It's so distracting, especially in meetings lol I've turned to standing during meetings when I can.

    @namaste: So glad I'm not the only one! Haha. I completely zone out! Standing meetings are a good idea.

    @mfa_lady: i'm 22 weeks tomorrow and haven't seen my belly move yet but if I put my hand on top of where he kicks I can often see my hand move (if that makes sense). Love strong kicks

    I've just seen my belly move
    In other news, the wallpapering is nearly done! How is everyone else getting on with nurseries?

    @Snowdrop: Nice! We move this weekend and then it is like the 7th room on my to-do list :silly:. Aka a long ways out even though I have it mentally planned.

    pear / 1846 posts

    @Radish: 7th room?! I hope you have lots of help! I really want the majority done by the end of October and to have it totally finished by 1st December so that we can relax and enjoy Christmas together.

    nectarine / 2079 posts

    @Snowdrop: luckily we are reusing most of DD1s stuff, so the only major thing is painting and figuring out the arrangement. My life would be much easier if almost all the rooms didn't have a wallpaper boarder on them.

    @Radish: that is the worst about decorating, fixing other people's mess!

    @Snowdrop: our nursery is currently the cat room...We just moved and I wanted to have all their stuff somewhere so they could feel comfortable. Now I just have to finish unpacking and get to painting!

    @Snowdrop: We are leaving the nursery as is for LO2 and moving LO1 into a new room. This weekend we're going furniture shopping for a wardrobe and convertible crib for the new "big girl" room. I have the theme pretty much planned out on Pinterest but not sure what we'll decide for furniture.

    @Snowdrop: Aw, yay! Isn't it so fun?

    Our nursery is...not coming along yet, really. Haha. I'm going to paint the walls dark gray, but I haven't even painted my samples on the wall yet. Also I need just about everything except a crib (because DH is building one) but I'll cross that bridge when I'm ready. Haha.

    ETA: Oh, and I don't need a dresser, either. We moved our old dresser in there for her, so I guess furniture-wise all I really need is a chair.

    haha the nursery is getting the least amount of love in my house right now. We really need to clear it out...

    @Snowdrop: how exciting!

    Baby is kicking right now, I love putting my hand on my belly and feeling it on the inside and outside. I haven't really been able to watch my belly move, but at my Dr. apt today, my dr. said that should be soon.

    Our nursery is currently empty of anything and painted a bluish-greenish. I've been pinterest'ing it up to pull together some ideas. It's overwhelming! This is the most challenging part about team green, I think - I'm good with neutral clothes, I'm good with names, but decorating the nursery is tough - so much stuff seems to be very girly or very boyish.

    I'm leaning toward just fun neutral patterns for the curtains/sheet/crib skirt, and some sweet etsy prints I have found that aren't too theme-y.

    In other news, my GD test is now scheduled for 10/24 - have any of you ladies had this yet, or is it coming up for you? Did you feel sick after from the drink? I get to choose from orange or fruit punch - I don't love sodas/juices, so I'm really not too excited about the sugary drink . . .

    @Oliviapope: My test is on the 13th! I'm a little worried but I'm not too worried.

    @Oliviapope: mine is next Thursday. I passed last time, but still had an enormous baby so I'm worried I'll fail this time.

    @Oliviapope: I had mine on Wednesday - it's not awful. hopefully they keep it cold, that helps. I just try to get it down fast.

    both times I felt pretty sick/shaky after a while once my blood sugar crashed, like I was craving protein for sure, but not like I was going to pass out. I think you can sip water if you feel really bad. and then plan to go get a burger after or something

  24. Snowdrop

    pear / 1846 posts

    @Oliviapope: we are doing neutral too as we plan on only decoratigthenursery once for all babies we have. I'mnot a fan of things that are too gender specific anyway!

    @Snowdrop: aww I saw my belly moving last night - I never thought to look before everyone started posting about it here!

    And our nursery is still on hold, since I'm using that room for my office. We had an electrician lined up to come do some rewiring so I can move my office to a different room, but he bailed
    I'm not in too much of a hurry since we don't have anything for the nursery yet, but it would be nice if the room was at least empty so I have somewhere to put shower gifts (but the showers aren't for a month yet).

    @bhbee: Yes, we found out! We were going to wait to open the envelope at a nice dinner with just the two of us, but my husband caved during the appointment and had to know! I waited until we left the building and were heading into brunch.

    Add one more GIRL to our list!

    I boo hooed tears of joy. I know boys are great (I have many nephews I love and adore), but I really did hope it was a girl. When I've imagined our baby, it's always been a girl.

    After reading here about people seeing the baby move, I lifted up my shirt and stared. Boom--there was a kick I could see! Sometimes it's a ripple across the stomach.

    I haven't done the GD test, but I think that will happen soon. I'm concerned about failing. I'm a healthy weight and eat a good diet, but I've had a pre-diabetic A1C reading before. We'll see!

    @mfa_lady: I'm so impressed that your husband is building a crib! What is the final product going to look like?

    The nursery has nothing in it except a huge amount of hand me down maternity clothes. I feel like Goldilocks--most are either too big or too small--not a lot of "just right." One friend gave me clothes that are a size 0. Why does that even exist?!?

    @Oliviapope: I have GD found out at 10 weeks. It's actually not too bad. Good luck though! My mom had it so I was a little more prone to it. I had the orange drink for my 1 hour and that was fine but I had a lime drink for my 3 hour test and that made me feel gross after drinking it.

    @Happygal: Yay a girl! Congrats!

    @Happygal: yay so exciting!!

    random, but I started part-time cloth diapering my 2 year old yesterday. I love it!! I'm going to use disposable at first with the new baby to ease into having two kids at home on my own, and less laundry while recovering. but I am loooving it.

    in other news, my daughter is two today. sob. I'm definitely not as emotional as when she turned one (not emotional at all actually) but two?! where does the time go??

    I'm home from work today with some kind of little stomach bug--at least I hope it's a bug because if it's pregnancy-related and is going to keep going....it's going to be a long 14 weeks!

    But, the good/fun news is, I'm pretty sure baby girl had the hiccups early this morning! I had to Google what was happening, because it felt like a little pulsing kick, which kind of freaked me out at first. But according to the internet, she had the hiccups! Pretty nifty.

    Hope everybody has a great Monday!

    @mfa_lady: I hope you feel better soon! I loved hiccups with my first... he would have them almost every day near the end. It was very comforting to me for some weird reason.

    @mfa_lady: Ahh hiccups! This makes sense. Sometimes she has little pulsing movements and I never thought anything of it. The more you know!
