@mrsjyw: My LO has always preferred standing and I'm not sure he will crawl. He hates being on his tummy and will yell if we put him on it. However, he sleeps on his tummy a lot of the time and I've seen him army crawling in his crib.
We have more teeth here too and I feel like such an idiot about it. He got the bottom two two days apart at 5.5 months. At 7 months (2 weeks ago) he got the top "two." My husband and I thought he only got two, but yesterday my mom was watching him and told me he has three teeth on the top. He doesn't like to let us look at them, but I kinda forced him and she is right!

@ChelseaRose: I'm wondering if we'll miss top teeth too, I can never get a peek at his top gums!
LO has mastered sitting up from army crawling/laying down.. he looks so proud when he does it! He was sitting when I went in this morning so I guess we need to drop the crib tonight!! Ack.

C managed to army crawl forward towards me this week! Yippie!
And those top two teeth are definitely coming through. Her poor gums looks SO swollen and tender, but she isn't in a bad mood about it.
Anyone sporting some serious guns! My biceps are stacked from lifting up and holding my little beefcake all the time.

M is still trying to sort out crawling. She rocks on all fours all the time but she just can't get coordinated enough to move forward. She tries and then she face plants. And then fusses to be rescued. We are ready for this stage to be over!!
@highwire: no sweet guns over here! My little peanut is still under 15lbs so she's pretty easy to lug around with me!

@scg00387: He is really funny about blocking our view of them. He either clamps his mouth closed, sticks his tongue out and over them, turns his head away, etc. I felt so silly that I didn't see the extra tooth.

So... this happened this past wknd

... I guess I worried for nothing? LOL Oh mama hormones.

We lowered C's crib last night! She has been pulling up to standing in it and I'm afraid she will topple over!
pear / 1992 posts
@highwire: We did too! A certain someone was not only standing up but bending over the edge to look at the toys she had fun throwing over the rail. Almost gave me a heart attack!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
C is on the move! Still army crawling, but getting really fast and efficient at it. I can't take my eyes off her for a second. The babyproofing has begun!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
We officially have a crawler! We got her first wobbly "steps" on all fours last night on camera.
pear / 1992 posts
@highwire: Big Girl!! LO is crawling here too but sometimes still resorts to her 'scoot' in order to go faster or turn around.
Our newest milestone is understanding where things go - she will look under the table if her toy falls down or stretch to look around us if we've turned her away from something she was watching (like the cats).
I may be imagining things, but I think she is trying to mimic our words a lot more lately too. If she is holding a green toy and we say 'green!' she will make a g sound. She also says 'mamamamamama' in a long string while reaching for me but only when she is sad which kind of breaks my heart. I don't want her first words to be said while she is crying
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@lindseykaye: OMG C does the exact same thing. She is having MAJOR separation anxiety going on. We had the whole family over this weekend and anytime DH or I tried to hand her off, she would start wailing and through her crying going "mamamamamama"

@highwire: I'm way behind on reading here, woo hoo, congrats to C on being a crawler
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
A is scooting/army crawling... he attempts the sitting to face planting crawling position A LOT when he's playing... and it's making me nervous!!! I want to enjoy the immobile period longer!!!
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
@lindseykaye: @highwire: A does this too. It's super cute but sad too, I can't wait until she calls out for me with a big smile on her face
@mrsjyw: I know, isn't it crazy how much these babies can move now? A is full on crawling and is pretty speedy on those hands and knees. I can't turn my back for a second now, especially since her favourite *toys* seem to be things like flip flops and wires that I obviously need to grab off her super sharpish, I spend a lot of time chasing her, ha ha.
In general, A is doing very well. She's crawling at the speed of light, sitting fabulously and rolling. She doesn't stand yet, but I attribute that to wearing the pavlik harness for 14 weeks. I've been really surprised by how quickly she's caught up in general, but would like to see her standing to set my mind at rest.
I can't believe our little babies are getting so big!
pomegranate / 3225 posts
@travelgirl1: sounds like she's doing awesome! L is not crawling yet, so I wouldn't worry about her not standing!
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
M has just really mastered the scoot/army call in the last couple days. She obviously does it with purpose. She sees something she wants and gets herself right over to it. She also pulled up for the first time today!!! I'm not ready!!!!!!
@lindseykaye: M also sometimes wails maaaaaamaaaaaaa when she's crying!

my baby cut her first tooth finally! are any of you guys starting to brush their teeth? i want to start the habit early so she gets used to it but maybe just wiping it is good enough for now?
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@kodybear: Aw exciting! C has 5 teeth now (cutting the 5th as we speak) and we aren't brushing. I guess we need to start, ack! I'll probably wipe them down with a wash cloth in the bath for now.
C is starting to pull herself up to standing (but still VERY wobbly and has to have her legs splayed out very wide to do it). Slow down, baby girl!
honeydew / 7687 posts
@kodybear: we only have two teeth but have been brushing for about a month at night. All the horror stories I've read on HB motivated me to make it a part of our routine early and so far LO loves it he wiggles for his toothbrush. We ordered spry toothpaste and the green sprouts silicone brush off amazon.
LO pulled the air vent register out of my moms floor this weekend...ack!! He loves to pull up on things but then lets go with both hands. Sooo many bumps and bruises around here lately I hate it!
pear / 1992 posts
@scg00387: Bumps, bruises and scrapes all around here. She is pulling up like a champ and now has the bravery to bend down to pick up something she has dropped while holding on with one hand. She is finally understanding how to drop to sitting on her bum instead of pitching forward or keeping her legs locked and falling straight back (only did that in her crib a few times though)!
Now we're on to cruising, she has this weekend shown that she can walk the length of the couch (to get to the dog) and can go back and forth bracing herself on the coffee table and the couch as long as one hand is always on something steady. She still has no fear though or concept of consequences so I am hovering like crazy. We are getting ready to move this weekend (uuuuuuugh I hate moving) so I am optimistic that we will babyproof from the start at our new house.
@kodybear: I have tooth wipes and a little practice toothbrush but I haven't used either yet LO's bedtime routine is already kind of a battle and I have hesitated to figure out where to add this step without it becoming yet another task we perform that she cries and fights us through. I am thinking she might be okay with it during the bath. Either that or just before because when she has to get out she knows it's diaper/pj/sleep time and the yelling doesn't usually stop until she is nursing...
honeydew / 7687 posts
@lindseykaye: haha, my LO tries to bend over and pick up toys but does not have the balance yet and topples! We've half babyproofed but I need to finish ASAP. FWIW he LOVES his spry toothpaste. We joke that it's really the only thing other than breastmilk that he gets excited about. It has made our bedtime routine easier because DH brushes then gives him the brush while he does other stuff and it keeps him from trying to crawl off.

And we officially have ... FIVE teeth, with the sixth just about to cut through....
A has def cut down a nap, but started taking 1 hour+ naps again on Friday.... and we were out of town this wknd and he did well with sleep too.
i hope his next set of teeth wait a few months before they decide they want to make an appearance!
He started pulling up last week! ... AHHH. IAMNOTREADYFORMOBILEBABY.
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@mrsjyw: Dude M learned to crawl, pull up and cruise all in about 10 days time. My world is seriously changed forever!!!!
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
@mrsjyw: Ha C has 5 teeth also!
And she is definitely pulling up on stuff. We went to a playdate with a little activity table and she was ALL ABOUT IT. I'm trying to convince hubby to get us one off of craigslist for our own house.
Here's a pic:
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@highwire: A LOVEs his music table... he literally grunts and squeals when he sees it.
He pulled up for the first time in his packnplay (we have mattress/blankets) so it's higher up than just the standard.
Then on Friday he pulled on his music table.
We bought him a walker over the wknd. We should've known when he started standing at like four months, that he'll like skip full-on crawling and just stand/cruise~
GOLD / eggplant / 11517 posts
This phase is so fun! I love her little monkey temperament where she just wants to like tumble and crawl and be flipped upside down and pull on everything and thinks everything is super hilarious.

I think I have one of the oldest "November" babies (he was born on 10/31) and he's still not crawling. He loves standing and cruising though. He can get on all fours and rock back and forth, but still pushes himself backward.
GOLD / wonderful apricot / 22646 posts
@ChelseaRose: A is 8 months in a week and he is not crawling yet either! Just army crawling and swaying back and forth if he happens to get on all fours... he just learned to pull up and is just starting to cruise today!
pomegranate / 3225 posts
@ChelseaRose: @mrsjyw: Lily is not crawling either. She's rocking a bit but definitely not pulling up, and she still hates tummy time! My DH never crawled so I suppose she might be like him but in the mean time I keep telling myself just enjoy this time before she's mobile!
grapefruit / 4066 posts
@ChelseaRose: M JUST started crawling last week at 8 months.
Still NO teeth!! I am kind of glad because I am afraid of her biting me lol, but just wondering when one is going to pop through!
pomegranate / 3225 posts
@NovBaby1112: Yeah, you are lucky. L bites me now when she's bored or not really hungry! ouch!
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
@mrsjyw: @ChelseaRose: Maybe your babies will skip crawling and go straight to walking!
A is crawling everywhere and destroying everything, ha ha. She isn't cruising or anything yet though. She pulled up to standing once today, in her crib, not sure if was a fluke though...
honeydew / 7687 posts
@travelgirl1: i'm so nervous about LO figuring out he can pull up in his crib.. he pulls up on everything else, including the outside of the crib, so it's just a matter of time until he's fighting a nap on his own two feet!
If it is a milestone... he climbed into the dishwasher today... he LOVES to climb up/over anything in reach including his end table, the bottom of the exersaucer/bouncer, and another end table. Guess I need to keep the dishwasher closed in the morning! Eep.
kiwi / 541 posts
@scg00387: this made me giggle at the dishwasher comment!
We will be 8 months next week. He isn't crawling but flopping around on his tummy trying to figure out how so we are guessing it won't be long. We had two teeth pop up last week but haven't fully come in. Today he came close to pulling up so I'm guessing he will do that by the weekend. Need the DH to move the crib down ASAP! We started putting up baby gates but have a long way to go to get ready for mobile baby.

@scg00387: Haha! That was my thing as a baby. I'd always get into the dishwasher and "help" unload by dumping all of the silverware on the floor.
cantaloupe / 6630 posts
I know this isn't really a milestone, but I put A's hair into a pony tail today, ha ha. I was super excited bout it
apricot / 429 posts
Baby girl just crawled today!! It's been WEEKS of rocking back and forth, spinning around, and scooting backwards, but she finally did it! Apparently the lid to her bottle was all the motivation she needed to go forwards. Who needs toys anyways??
pear / 1992 posts
@travelgirl1: Totally a milestone! I am looking forward to the day my little baldie can have a ponytail or little piggies! For now I'm going to impatiently wait until the bow shop that @princessbaby showed me to open back up because mama needs her fix
GOLD / squash / 13464 posts
@wildcardinside: hahaha congrats!! my LO first crawled because she was trying to get to her basket of clean diapers and wipes. Babies are silly.
@lindseykaye: Someone on here told me that you have to have a super pretty face to pull of the bald look and I think our girls are doing it
