@MrsTiz: @Maysprout: @sweetooth: Thank you! I'm feeling much better! I think I just need to drink more water (been drinking a lot today!) And no, the doctor never called me back. I guess I'll mention it at my appointment on Thursday

I've had a pretty constant headache since I got KU but the past two days have been unbearable, they almost bring tears to my eyes it hurts so badly. I've never had a migraine but I think that might be in my future DH is miserable when he gets one so fingers crossed my headaches go away!

@MrsTiz: that's how mine have been too. I'm sorry!

Well, found out I jumped the gun by not taking my unisom and b6 last night. I've spent the morning throwing up... can't even keep down water.

@MrsTiz: I had a killer headache yesterday Hope you start feeling better!

@Ash: Not being able to keep down even water is the WORST! I hope you're feeling better today. I decided to be adventurous yesterday since I have been eating bland foods for a month now. I had thai food. And I think was punished for it last night. It was my worst experience throwing up yet! I just want to have an iced coffee today and sit outside and enjoy the weather. But I don't want to be punished for that too. I'm ready for my stomach to be nice to me.

@MrsTiz: I hope your headache has lessened. Migraines are the worst. I've only had 2 in my lifetime, and they were so painful I'll never forget.

I've been having some headaches in the past week and I've found that drinking more water helps some. Maybe it's tied to dehydration?

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@sweetooth: Awe thank you! I'm gonna keep up with my meds for a while but I'm hoping being in the second tri will start lessening the nausea. hope you are feeling better as well!

@MrsTiz: what do you do for the headaches? I have one right now that I cannot stand.

  8. MrsTiz

@Ash: I usually just let it ride but if it gets too bad i'll take Tylenol and drink a ton of water.

It doesn't always help but it's worth a shot

@Ash: My midwife said that ibuprofen (aka Advil or Motrin) is safe only in the second tri if you really need it. Then she said if it was reaaaaaaaaaally bad, they would give me codeine.

Anyone else sleeping really poorly? I may need to invest in a snoogle to help!

  11. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@MrsTiz: I chugged gatorade yesterday thinking it would help but no luck... and it's still here today. Thinking it's a migraine since I'm prone to them.

I'm kinda weird but really don't want to take meds... and Friday at my appt I told my midwife about the occasional headache and she said Tylenol hasn't really been proven to be safe... so now I'm even more against taking it.

@Mrs. J: yep! Most nights I sleep terribly... I feel like I physically have to think about rolling over cuz of my "belly". Hahaha! I think a snoogle sounds like a good idea!!

@Ash: I find that a little caffeine helps my headaches. I don't like to take anything either.

@Mrs. J: Last week I had weird sleep. I was either really hyper and didn't want to sleep or soooooooo tired and just was looking forward to when it was time to go to bed.

My stomach has decided to show itself, I've gotten a lot of belly comments in the last few days.

Boo for headaches! Hope you all feel better soon!! I'll be 16 weeks on Friday and still crossing my fingers that my zits let up soon... I spent last week in San Diego and am going to Washington D.C. this weekend, and it sucks so bad not being able to wear tank tops/cute dresses/etc. because of the gawd-awful back zits!

@ms.janedoe: I say rock them anyways, mama!!!!

@Ash: Dude, there's no way. If it were a few random zits/clusters, I probably would just say eff it and go for it, but it's seriously...bad. People have compared it to a full-back rash... Hahahha. And they're all like, the deep, cystic kind so they HURT... On the plus side, I think my chest is...mayyyyybe starting to clear up, so that's a plus! I just hope my back follows suit!

Oh, and P.S. that's super interesting about the Tylenol thing. I've only taken a few so far (and only one of the two in the recommended dose or whatever) to help ease my zit pain, but every time I can't help but feel guilty! I don't know why, either!!! I mean, I scarfed down a Pinkberry (gasp! softserve!) with no shame, but one Tylenol has me guilty!

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@ms.janedoe: Hahahahaha! I eat deli sandwiches like they're going out of style and will indeed indulge in some frozen yogurt but I just can't get myself to take something for this pain.
Have you tried putting alcohol on them? Mine are sporadic but I totally feel for you with those cystic zits... :(( I think we're the ones carrying the girls of this group... Hahaha!! Just when I think my chin or chest is clearing up, I get a whole nother batch!! Fingers crossed yours will clear up for summer!!

@Ash: @ms.janedoe: I had a bunch of zits, but my back and chest are clearing up--it's my face where I am still getting them like a teenager. I still think it's a boy though, haha.

@ms.janedoe: I have awful back zits too and refuse to wear tank tops or dresses that show my back. It's really limiting!

I've had terrible headaches too and my midwife said Tylenol is safe but also to try a cup of coffee and see if that helps get rid of it.

  23. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@Cara M. 17: I don't drink coffee but I could slam down a soda, I'm sure! Caffeine scares me though... bawk bawk bawk.

Dudettes - I will keep this brief, but I have to share. I'm actually amazed I am putting this out there on the web, but here goes. I experienced the WORST constipation of my LIFE yesterday. I mean - seriously, thought I might birth the 13 week old lime-sized baby right there on the toilet. I know - I won't go into anymore detail. But here's the thing I wanted to share...The side effects on your medicine, do you ever really have those happen to you? I very rarely do, so when the anti-nausea meds I started last week said "constipation" was a side effect I though - meh, whatever.

    Oh my. Never again.

I stopped those puppies yesterday. Cold turkey. I've been eating like crap for 5 weeks - and my body revolted yesterday. So I did my best to jump in with a simple salad (first salad I've eaten in 5 weeks!!!) and a fruit smoothie. I've only been able to stomach bland carbs for what feels like forever. But now - I'm going to push to get more fruits and veggies in there.

Constipation is awful. I never want to experience that again. For those of you on this board that have been pregnant before - did you experience constipation later in the pregnancy? Do I need to prepare for more of this?

I used to be SO regular!!!

    Ok. The end

@Mrs. J: I've been sleeping pretty well still - but I've had to move to the guest bed because my husband's snores have woken me up and stirred up my nausea in the middle of the night. He never used to snore - or maybe I just used to sleep heavier before pregnancy?

Is a snoogle a fancy body pillow? I think I may eventually invest in one to help me sleep on my side. I'm a back sleeper - so I've been trying to enjoy that position for as long as I can.

@ms.janedoe: I live in the DC area! Have a great time here this weekend! It's been super hot this week - but it's supposed to cool down this weekend. So maybe you can sport the simple cardigan over your tanks

has anyone else started having Braxton Hicks? or leaking for that matter? I know, probably TMI but I noticed the leaking (a teeny amount) this afternoon and it kind of weirded me out as it seems so early?

  28. Ash

    honeydew / 7909 posts

@Mrs. Pink: I posted on the November Mamas board that I started having BH a couple weeks ago. I'm a couple weeks behind you (just hit 20 weeks on Saturday). I called my midwife and was told they are completely normal. But I did notice mine first started coming on when I was dehydrated. No leaking though.. but that's normal too!!

@Mrs. Pink: I haven't had any leaking yet with this pregnancy, but with my last I did. I leaked a little at night for a few weeks, I want to say from 25-30 weeks (?), and then it stopped as I got closer to my due date. My milk came in SUPER fast after birth, but I'm not sure the one has to do with the other.

I think someone else mentioned leaking on the chat thread a few weeks ago.

@Ash: Yay for 20 weeks! Hit it Friday

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue. Over the 4th, I was outside a lot and since then I have a colorless rash on my arms and legs that itches. I will need to be outside this summer and am hoping to get rid of or manage this better.

    Any suggestions?

@williamsh2: I just read about this over the weekend through my Babycenter app on my phone. I found the article that talks about it.

    http://www.babycenter.com/0_skin-darkening-during-pregnancy_222.bc

I don't know if it describes exactly what you're describing, but I thought it sounded kind of close with the sun exposure, etc. Sounds like plenty of SPF, try to stay covered up, and for some women it goes away after pregnancy.
