@Miss Sarah: Yes!! I have to hold my stomach when I sneeze. I've had terrible allergies lately so I feel like I'm constantly bracing myself for the pain!
persimmon / 1461 posts
@Miss Sarah: yesss Mainly on my lower left side as I can feel the baby is sitting on the left. the right side of my belly feels soft and the left is harder. If I lie down on the left its pretty achey, and then I flip to the right and can feel a pressure shift. ahhhh.

@Miss Sarah: OMG, yes! I've also felt what feels like a sharp kick to the cervix occasionally lately, which apparently is usually round ligament pain too.
nectarine / 2047 posts
@Miss Sarah: yesssss! I definitely do! I get it when I go from sitting to standing or even laughing! Boo!
I've been neglecting this board! I had a conference out of town for work so everything has been crazy! Congrats to everyone who has found out the gender of their baby! So exciting! I still can't decide if we are going to find d out! Is anyone this month staying strong on team green?
persimmon / 1259 posts
@FannyMae: Oh my gosh, I wish I could feel where baby is! Sometimes I question if baby is still there. I have too much cushion between my skin and the baby, haha, so I don't know when I'll feel him/her externally. I CANNOT wait to feel baby moving!
@peaches1038: We're definitely finding out, but it sounds like it might not be until my 22-week appointment! They told me they won't do it at the 18-week appointment and I'm betting they'll just stick with the every 4 weeks schedule and not schedule an extra ultrasound to find out. But I'm hoping so!!!!! I'm so impatient, lol!

@FannyMae: I'm glad to hear someone else is experiencing this, since I notice my lower left part of my stomach is firm and the right side is soft. I always imagined that even early in pregnancy, you get a uniformly round, solid bump but I feel like mine is sort of smushy in parts!
I'm hoping once baby grows a bit more I'll get more of the cute round bump and less of the "I've eaten one too many burritos" look...

@Miss Sarah: definitely! Every time
I sneeze - it's been happening for a few weeks now. At least I assume it's round ligament pain I'm feeling!!
persimmon / 1436 posts
@Miss Sarah: I have tons of round ligament pain, especially if I sneeze while lying down. I've definitely screamed in pain and scared DH.
persimmon / 1461 posts
@Miss Sarah: trust me, I have plenty of padding in my midsection, its more that the right hand flubby side is soft and the left hand side is firm flub! hahah
@Imabee: I think I'm at the *almost* over the fat-looking stage, though it is obvious theres a baby there as my belly starts from quite high up and not just my pre-preg low flubby mummy tummy. I guess its mostly my squished up stomach and intestines up high.

@peaches1038: we're team green! We were also surprised with #1, so all our gear is gender neutral and ready to be used again.
kiwi / 673 posts
@peaches1038: We're still solidly team green! I'm actually pretty worried that it will be apparent on the ultrasound, the ultrasound tech or my doc will let it slip, or the hospital will have it on the baby's band.

I admire you ladies with the willpower to stay on team green!
I was too impatient to wait for my anatomy scan so we did an elective scan (technically two because the first was at 15 weeks 3 days and they were pretty sure but wanted to confirm it again at 17 weeks)... I'm still in shock but so very excited!

@clover: congratulations!!
is anybody else getting dizziness? Im finding myself kinda out of breath dizzy if I lie down on my left hand side or my back. its really wierd, like my head is getting fuzzy and im a bit short of breath. not sure what could be causing that as baby is still little at the moment
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@FannyMae: Yes. I have been noticing it when I wake up to use the restroom at night. I thought maybe it was dehydration but I am too lazy to go get a drink.
persimmon / 1461 posts
@anbanan15: same.... I know if I have a drink in the middle of the night I'm going to feel horribly spewy within a few minutes so I avoid it. the thing is it seems to be happening whenever I lie down, not just at night. maybe its blood flow or something, blood pressure was fine at last check up and I have another 2 weeks til OB appt. Probably just the usual pregnancy niggles.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@FannyMae: Totally been dizzy...started within the last week or so. Ick!
grapefruit / 4681 posts
@FannyMae: funny you say that about your BP! I keep thinking mine is sky high and I am going to have pre-E, but it is nice and low. I tend to have a lower BP normally and it was normal to slightly higher than normal throughout my other pregnancies. Irrational pregnancy fears?!?
persimmon / 1461 posts
@anbanan15: I always tend to think mine is low, it has been in the past (when not pregnant), but had been completely normal through 1st pregnancy. I was always feeling dizzy then but he chalked it up to pregnancy and being overworked (I was 6 days a week full time)

@sometimesshesings: @Hoots: you ladies are giving me inspiration!! Trying to stay strong!
@clover: Congrats! Do you have any names yet?
@FannyMae: @anbanan15: @Miss Sarah: I just took a pregnancy and postpartum class for my license (I'm a women's health physical therapist) and apparently it's normal to have lower than normal blood pressure until 20 weeks and then it normalizes. Also if you are getting dizzy when going from sitting to standing or laying down to standing, it's probably orthostatic hypotension, which is common during pregnancy and if you're dehydrated. So drink drink drink!!

@peaches1038: thanks for the info on low blood pressure! It bugs me that the baby sites tend to dumb down information about pregnancy symptoms and fetal development. You have to make an effort to search for the science behind all the changes that are occurring.
Good luck staying team green! But don't worry if you cave... Knowing the sex only gives you a tiny bit of information. The real surprises will come as your lo's personality starts to shine through!
nectarine / 2047 posts
@sometimesshesings: no problem!! I like to know why things are happening too!! And that's such a great point about the personality, thank you!

Anyone feel any baby movement yet? My doctor asked me at my visit last week and I feel like everyone asks me at work! I keep trying to pay attention but I have felt nada. I am 17.5 weeks right now ... so I am hoping anytime!
Anyone else feel anything? If so, what did it feel like?
nectarine / 2047 posts
@wrkbrk: I'm pretty sure I haven't yet. I'm 18 weeks today. Sometimes I feel a little something, but it never repeats so I'm guessing it's just gas. I can't wait to feel a little kick!
kiwi / 673 posts
@wrkbrk: I'm pretty sure I have just this week at late 15/early 16 weeks. The first few times it was a weird flutter and maybe like random bubbles erratically popping along with the flutter. They were non-consecutive nights just after I lay down. Then, Friday and Saturday while I was sitting at my desk, there was a feeling like bubbles popping or very light tapping a few inches below my belly button and a bit stronger than earlier in the week. It goes on for a few minutes and then goes away. The first time I thought maybe it was gas, but the same feeling has repeated and it's more targeted and feels a bit different than gas does. I asked my mom and she said that's about the time she felt it with me and that my description sounded right.
persimmon / 1259 posts
@wrkbrk: I'm right there with ya. Nothing yet, a couple of gas bubbles...and I'm always reading into those little signs! I can't wait to distinguish the movement!
Anyone else cramping recently? It's not major, similar to mild period cramps. The midwife did warn me about growth spurts...but i still get nervous about the crampy feeling.
persimmon / 1461 posts
yep, I felt some pop-boop feelings just under my belly button as I was sitting in the car, as well as the stretchy pressure feeling of the baby moving in there. no definitive KICKKK feels yet though.

Have you all picked out names yet? DH wants to wait until our anatomy scan as we plan to find out the baby's sex then. My doctor wouldn't let me schedule it until the first week of July though. I was hoping to find out before this weekend since I am 19 weeks and DD's birthday party is this weekend. I thought it would be fun to share with our whole family there and my OBGYN said it was "too early!" ARRGH.
I'm also waiting for the results on our integrated serum genetic testing. She said she'd call with bad news and I'd get a letter in the mail (old school!) with good news. It's been 2 weeks since I had the second set of labs done on that, so....
pomelo / 5084 posts
@peaches1038: @Miss Sarah: That makes me feel better! I know he is moving because I saw it on an ultrasound last week - I guess we will just continue to patiently wait!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Hoots: Dang! That's so early! But yes, that is exactly what I have read its supposed to feel like!!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@Finfan: Good luck on your letter (NOT call!). And booo for having to wait for the scan. It will be SO FUN when you get to do it! We did pick out a name once we found out it was a boy - Cooper. We had a list for each sex before we found out but it wasnt "serious" until we knew which list to focus on! Haha!
nectarine / 2047 posts
@Miss Sarah: I do have some discomfort in my belly, but I've been constipated so I attribute it to that. I wouldn't say it's "cramping" though, it feels like a wave of tightness maybe? It's hard to explain.
@Finfan: we do have names picked out. They are family names and we've had them forever. Henry and Eliza. Our anatomy scan is going to be the second week of July, so we will see if we decide to find out!! Also, I JUST got the results back today from the serum screen. I had the NT scan on 5/6 and the blood draw on 6/2. All normal, which is a big relief!! I hope you get your results soon!
@wrkbrk: my friend is about 16 weeks and says she has felt movement. I'm so jealous!! Our day will come!
pomelo / 5084 posts
@peaches1038: congrats on your normal results! Yay! Love the names you oiled also!
persimmon / 1461 posts
I'm kind of sure what the name will be, but not quite yet. Knowing that its a girl means my boy name is now on reserve, and I have to decide on 3 names that I am considering. I say them in my head to try figure out combinations, but when I'm sure I will tell hubby "THIS IS THE NAME" and that'll be that
apricot / 358 posts
@Finfan: we haven't gotten anywhere with names. It's such a big responsibility! We were still waffling until the day my son was born.
I have been feeling movement, though! It started around week 16, and so far it's still light and fluttery.
nectarine / 2047 posts
@FannyMae: @sometimesshesings: I'm excited to hear what you decide!!
kiwi / 557 posts
@FannyMae: @Hoots: @wrkbrk: Thanks ladies!
@peaches1038: I have a ton of names on my list, unfortunately DH is incredibly picky when it comes to names (esp girl names) so has vetoed ALL of my favorites off. There are only a few that he agrees with and I'm ok about. Not sure why he is so difficult about it but there will be a few more name discussions in the future.
