@dragonsword - thanks. DS 4 1/2 & DD 2. Hang in there - it's the worst, I'm finally coming out of the fog!

@delight & @caterw - I hadn't even thought about newborn photos - mostly just birthday parties! But how fun would that be - especially with older siblings with a costume theme!

@MrsRcCar - Hey there! What an adorable U/S photo! That little hand!

@LAZB: Yay for healthy results!! I'm excited for you for this weekend! I can't wait to find out what you're having lol.

@MrsRcCar: what an awesome picture! Glad everything went well with your scan

I am holding out hope that the nausea goes away soon. I feel awful feeding my kids lots of cereal because cooking is so unappealing. 😬 I am over here trying to throw up while I make pasta.

@MrsRcCar: what a great picture! My ultrasound picture from my appointment yesterday kind of sucks ( a medical student did my ultrasound). I'll post from my phone later.

So I told my supervisor today! She's really happy and excited (she's pregnant too and due in August). And then about an hour later I went to tell our boss, and my supervisor had already spilled the beans! Oh well. She is also happy for me, but of course immediately starting say oh, so when do you think you will be out on leave?

I was like: woman! I can't even think about what I might eat for dinner tonight...I am not ready to think about maternity leave!

I had my appointment and my doc couldn't find the HB with the Doppler. I'm trying not to worry. He told me I should definitely not worry because he often can't find it at this stage. Always something to worry about though. I guess I just have to keep trusting everything is going well! I wish I had just turned down the Doppler in the first place though. My next appointment isn't for 4 weeks but hopefully I'll start feeling more movements by then.

@delight: popping in from September. My doc couldn't find my heartbeat at 12 weeks. She did a quick ultrasound and everything was fine. So it's super common!!! I'm 21 weeks and had a great anatomy scan last week. Totally get your anxiety. But hopefully my story helps.

@delight: ugh, I'm sorry! That would drive me crazy. Hoping you get peace of mind!

Had our u/s at 11 weeks and all looks well! A medical student did the ultrasound so the picture isn't great.
I did get a lecture from my doctor about losing weight! he said if I lose any more I'd need to go on anti-nausea meds. I don't know why, but I'd just rather not take them, so I'm trying eat more calories, even just in the form of milkshakes and crackers.

@delight: I am sure everything is fine. Although I am surprised that you weren't offered an ultrasound just to check up. Hoping the time flies to your next appointment.
@LatteLove: I lost weight like crazy with my two other pregnancies. My doctor wasn't too concerned as long as the baby's growth was not inhabited. However with my second pregancy I did get put on meds because I wasn't able to function. If you are able to function and bulk up your calories I would just do that.

DH and I are finally talking names! For a boy we are thinking Oliver Jacob and for a girl we are thinking Ellanora Mary

@sandy @dragonsword @littlebear16 thanks for the kind words!

Appointment went well. I didn't get another ultrasound but she found the heartbeat wth te Doppler. 172 bpm. So magical! It's the first time hearing it for this first time mom so my husband and I were in awe. He recorded it in his phone and I just listen all night long. It's such a strange feeling since I'm not showing and my symptoms are fairly light, I'm like, how is there something inside me with its own heartbeat and I barely notice?!! Crazy awesome.

@lattelove cute lil baby bean! I told my boss already too. I did at 9 weeks because I was so tired and felt like I needed to let her know that I'm not just staying out late or anything, lol. She said she didn't even notice and she's super excited for me.

@delight I'm sorry about the Doppler issues. I've heard that once you get further along, they can be tricky to find cause they can hide so nicely in that cacoon. Next time (s)he'll cooperate, I'm sure!

@MrsRcCar: I just saw my family doctor and there is no ultrasound machine or anything there. He seemed to think it is super common to not be able to find it but it's still worrisome. I'm trying not to let it bother me.
@mrsjd: thanks for popping in and reassuring me! I know it has happened to tons of people around this stage. I hear midwives don't even try until 16 weeks most of the time
so that makes me feel better!
@Plainpistachio: I'm so glad you had a great appointment!!

@LatteLove: still a cute pic! mine was all blurry.
@Plainpistachio: Glad your appointment went well!!
@MrsRcCar: oh man, I wouldn't know what to do if I had to cook for my LO (my dh usually does all the cooking). I made him noodles once and I was gagging so much. He's been having granola bars for breakfast every morning.

My nausea has been going away, like I didn't even get sick after eating dinner last night... which has me happy AND worried at the same time. Ugh.

For all the mamas going to the pool/beach this summer, where are you getting your bathing suits at? I bought some at Target, but I don't love them and I think I'm going to return them. Any recommendations would be great! I like to cover up my belly! So i prefer tankinis or a one piece.

@Plainpistachio: Glad you had a great appointment and hear the heartbeat!
@dragonsword: I wish my nausea would go away! Now that I've had two ultrasounds I feel confident that everything is okay, and I just want to feel better!! Also, I just bought a bathing suit from destination maternity for our hawaii trip. I got it online so I wasn't sure how it would look, but I love it! It's this one: http://www.destinationmaternity.com/Product.asp?Product_Id=961770082&MasterCategory_Id=MC9

NT scan went great! I'm still waiting for my doctor's appointment, she's running super behind again, but there doctor at the ultrasound said all results were normal. Such a relief to see the baby again!

    @LAZB: beautiful baby!

Just occurred to me my phone autocorrected my girl name. 😒 Eleanora Mary is correct. DH is pretty sure we will have an Oliver. We shall see.

@delight: don't worry! Very normal not being able to find the HB with the doppler at this stage

@Plainpistachio: yay for a good appointment!

    @LAZB: beautiful photo of baby!!!

@MrsRcCar: I love the name Oliver so much!!!

@milag64: you are one of the lucky ones to escape the awful pregnancy symptoms - count yourself lucky

I stopped my progesterone this week and I feel like my nausea is so much more manageable and the extreme exhaustion seems to be so much better too.

@LAZB: yay! great news!! And nice pic!
@MrsRcCar: what a cute little baby!
@delight: ugh sorry they couldn't find it. Are they checking via ultrasound? I guess it is common so the odds are in your favor that everything is just fine!
@LatteLove: glad you had a good scan!

I am 11w today, and just ready to get out of the nausea stage. I have 2 new skirts from target (the ones with the thick fabric waistband- maxi or knee length). They will be great to wear instead of pants this summer! I will probably find a pair of maternity shorts but I don't want to spend too much. Not sure where to look.
And (patiently haha) waiting for my NIPT results (by the end of next week I guess)

@kes18: Have you looked for maternity clothes on Zulily? They have shorts on there for $15-$20 sometimes but you have to check back every day for new sales

@mrsrccar @lazb @lattelove Yay ultrasound pictures!!! I love watching all the little beans turn into babies!

@delight We had a terrible time getting DD to cooperate- we couldn't hear her heartbeat early on either (and she would NEVER turn properly for her ultrasounds... and now she is super stubborn lol). I'm sure everything is fine in there

@mrsrccar I love your names. Eleanora (nn Ellie) has always been a favorite of mine, but I don't think we will end up using it since my cousin has a little Ellie. Oliver is so cute too!

@LAZB: Yay! What a beautiful picture!
@kes18: I just bought a pair of shorts from Gap! I'll let you know how I like them.
@MrsRcCar: I love both names! I knew a girl in Italy named Eleanora and think it is so beautiful. (they said it Eh-lay-uh-nor-uh) Your ultrasound pics are SO clear!

@sandy: @kes18: @caterw: Thanks! We love both names. Just shocked me that DH and I are actually on the same thought. It never happens. Ever.
@LatteLove: that's the pronunciation we would use.

@delight: when my doctor found the heartbeat at my 11 week appointment, she seemed surprised and told me it was much more typical to have trouble finding it. I didn't know that about finding heartbeats by Doppler until this time (I used to get ultrasounds every appointment, so haven't really used a Doppler before).

@PinkElephant: @caterw: @kes18: @sandy: thanks everyone for your replies. I have been worrying a bit today so asked a close friend of mine who is a doctor about heartbeats and dopplers. She said she would have tried harder and if she couldn't have found it she would have ordered a scan. Anyways, she brought me down to her office and whipped out her Doppler and found the HB right away I'm so relieved!!

@littlebear16: me too! I don't know if I should be mad at my doc or shrug it off. He's pretty old school and probably doesn't realize how much things like hearing our babe's heartbeat actually matters to us. I only have one more appointment with him anyways and then get to see my OB.
@MrsRcCar: ooooh great. I'll take a shot tomorrow.

@MrsRcCar: I was wondering if you had changed the spelling of your girl name!! It does kinda look like an Oliver to me though.... But it's hard to tell so early!
