$37??!!
I made all four in the picture below for like $11! 68 cents per box for four boxes of crayons. 3 pack shadowbox frames for $6 and $2 posterboard.
Do I have a future on Etsy? haha....they would be a pain to ship. Seriously though, things in Canada on Etsy suck, creativity seriously lacking, there are a few things I can do/have done on there I see for sale and think....I could make money!!

Re #2 I think i want my kids to be about 2 years a part. Definitely don't want to think about #2 yet tho. One thing to remember is it will probably be easier with the second. We'll know what to expect and have experience.
@JessLC: hope it's not thrush! I had some sharp pains the other day in my left breast. I was so paranoid I was getting thrush. It would throb for a while after he BFd on that side. It went away tho... Not sure what it was.
@Beebug: our LO is sleeping mostly in his bouncy seat in our room. Probably around 12 weeks we'll try to move him to the pack n play in our room. Not ready for him to be in his own room yet. I like him close to me.

A slept 8.5 hours last night! 8:30-5 he went back to sleep until 6 then had a massive blow out poo so just got up for the day. Can't complain about getting 8 hours of sleep tho!
@Beebug: that is adorable!

@beebug: @hilsy85: @mrskc: the pains don't hurt that much, so i hope its not thrush! LO's mouth looks normal. i'm keeping my fingers crossed that its not thrush. she took her last dose of antibiotics yesterday, yay. so i hope the chances of getting thrush are lower going forward.
@beebug: that is so sweet of your husband! re: the bassinet, we are having her sleep in her pack n' play newborn napper...want to move her to her crib soon. and you should definitely start a little etsy business on the side! those are so cute!
LO slept from midnight to almost 7am last night then until 10am...pretty good, but i have to figure out how to shift everything earlier. hmmm.

Feeling pretty lucky right now.
C fed at 9, in bed at 10, asleep by 10:20. DH and I DTD, woo!!! She slept til 5:15, nursed/changed all in 20 mins, and is still sleeping. If this could happen habitually.....oh I would loveee it.
Dog attacked another dog on walk this am though, so that totally killed all the other good stuff....

I think my boobs are so confused!
C has now slept through three feedings in the last 15 hours!
We just got back from the clinic, have an antibiotic cream for her. We noticed yesterday she was batting at her ear, we joked her hair was bugging her, but took a look and it was really red and warm. She didn't have a temp, sleeping and eating fine, but I didn't want to mess around and wait it out, so hopefully this cream will clear it up, and if no progress, doctor Monday, I will see if I can have her immunizations done then, instead of next Friday to save two trips, we'll see.
Her amazing sleeping last night, she's only been awake an hour today so far.......poor thing!

@Beebug: so jealous of everything in your post. I wanna sleep! I wanna DTD! Waahh! Those things currently don't exist.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@TurtleDoves: I don't even mean it in a gloating way, but omg DTD was so, so awesome. DH prob thought I was cray cray not wiping the smile off my face after!
All the sleep today though.....may mean a not so great night tonight. She is nursing now and can't stay awake....poor little bean she is!
Got our Christmas cards from vistaprint yesterday, mailed them today......cut it kinda close, but glad it's done.

So 2 nights in a row of 8 hours of sleep! Yay! We're going to go visit daddy at work today. All his coworkers have been dying to hold him. Hope everyone is doing well! A turns 2 months today and has his 2 month appt tue. Nervous for him getting all those shots. Anyone splitting up the shots? I'm thinking about doing that so he doesn't have to get so many at once.

@beebug: I hope C had a good night and her ear isn't bothering her anymore! Poor thing.
@mrskc: J also has his 2 month appointment on Tuesday, and it's the first one my husband won't be able to go to - he's missing a bad one! I'm nervous about J's reaction to the shots (I hope he doesn't get a fever), but I'm excited for him to finally have lots of antibodies. The first 2 months are so scary germ-wise!
J has been super fussy the past 2 days, and seems constantly hungry like during a growth spurt. Has anyone else had a growth spurt at 8 weeks? It doesn't seem to be a normal time for that, but he's acting the way he did during his previous growth spurt!

@mrskc: @Beehive: my LO is only 7 weeks and we had her very late 1 month appt today (long story about taking forever to transfer medical records, etc). anyway, the ped said we might as well do the 2-month shots today and she'd rather give them today than split them up because she doesn't want the baby to have to come back into the office and get exposed to all the germs since there was a flu outbreak in the neighborhood recently. anyway, she got her Hep B (didn't get it when she was born), Pentacel (which is 3 in 1), Pneumoccocal and rotavirus. The rotavirus was oral, but the others were shots and she screamed poor thing. but, she's been poked a bunch of times already because she's been in the hospital twice and needed an IV and spinal tap. not that it would make her used to shots, but i think i'm used to them! anyway, she is sleeping now. she wore herself out with the crying. doc said she might get a fever tonight and to give her tylenol for it.
@mrskc: so jealous of the 8 hours of sleep! my LO is at 6 hours right now...hoping it'll just increase naturally. did you do any type of sleep training, or did your LO just naturally extend his sleep?
squash / 13764 posts
@mrskc: aw yay, have fun visting daddy! We will be doing the shots on schedule, that's what our pedi recommends and we feel comfortable with it. L's appt is on monday, I am not excited. Luckily DH is coming with us.
@JessLC: aw poor baby I hope she isn't too fussy the rest of the day and that she doesn't get a fever!
Are any of you ladies on Instagram? I'm looking for new people to follow!

@Beehive: have you heard of the wonder weeks? There is a wonder week 8. Look up the book. Wonder weeks are times when they go thru a developmental growth spurt. I think week 8 is patterns.
@JessLC: your poor LO. I'm not looking forward to the shots. I didn't do any sleep training he just naturally started sleeping longer. He does eat about every 2 hours all day and sometimes even more in the evening to fill up for his long sleep. I think I just got lucky with a good sleeper.
@hilsy85: I'm on Instagram. I need to start posting more on here tho. My username is katiekc. Is that how u look up people? I need more to follow too. I think I'm only following 2 pp at the moment.
Well visiting daddy at work was fun. His coworkers were all fighting to hold him. Lol they were all just doting on him so much.

Hey everyone! I have been so MIA lately but I wanted to drop in and say hi. I'm trying to spend as much time with emerson as I can before I go back to work. I'll be back active once I return to work (sorry employer!)
We are doing great, Emme was sleeping 8-10 hours straight a night until 2 nights ago. She has started waking up to eat after 5 hours, I'm thinking she's having a growth spurt. But she is a happy baby now that she is on formula (she had issues with my breast milk, doctor thinks it was too rich for her sensitive tummy.) She is so smiley and starting to talk and coo.
I hope you are all doing well, all the pictures are adorable!

@TurtleDoves: day after Christmas, so I guess it was a little nice better than Christmas Eve, although the week after would have been nicer! Our mom's are taking turns watching her since our daycare is closed until the 2nd.
coconut / 8475 posts
@jessiejo17: ok-not too bad. At least you will get to transition yourself into work with her being a grandma and then with daycare. I find it kind of odd that daycare is closed though:( what about all those peoe without family to help out?
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@hilsy85: Love the new avatar! She is still rubbing her head, it's not as red, flaky or hot anymore though......we may still go see another doc today.....ugh, but thank-you!
@mrskc: @Beehive: Thank-you for well wishes for Miss C.
@TurtleDoves: Yah, go for new avatar, I thought why not, lol.
C just did 10pm bedtime until 7:30am this morning, love her. We went out last night which was our first evening outing with her, daring given her fussiness between 8 and 9, but she was great/bearable, lol. I had like a 1/4 glass of wine and it was lovely.
Still not sure if we are going to go to another clinic today, or wait until Monday and just keep her low key, we have a fam get together tomorrow with 50 people or so attending, and may skip it now, last night was just 8 people, so it wasn't too bad. The cream definitely hasn't solved it, she is still batting the ear like craaaazy, but otherwise acting, eating, sleeping, etc pretty normal.....totally have no idea on what it could be.
Booked flights for next weekend, finally! Fly the 23rd, return home the 28th.....short and sweet.
Haven't spoken to DHs parents since they left, should be a good and awkward 5 days.

@TurtleDoves: It is an in home and she closes 2 weeks out of the year, this one and one in summer. I knew that going into it so we were prepared.

Alright I need other Mom's advice. Emme has been sleeping in her rock n play since she was born. We have been trying to get her to sleep in her crib and she will scream bloody murder until we pick her up and then she falls asleep against us and will sleep all night in her rock n play. How do we transition her into her crib without her freaking out? I think she likes the closeness of the rock n play, since she isn't so out in the open. I would really like her sleeping in her crib before I go back to work.
squash / 13764 posts
@jessiejo17: glad to hear you guys are doing well! As for sleeping in the crib I don't have much advice...we made the switch pretty much overnight and Leo was ok. Does she take naps in her crib? Maybe start out that way? Or can you prop her between 2 rolled up receiving blankets in the crib to make her feel cozier? She's swaddled right?
So I totally thought we had our nighttime sleeping down... Then Leo woke up at 2 and 630 two nights ago, and 1 and 5 last night. I guess that's stil better than waking up every 2-3 hours, but we were spoiled by a week of 7 hour stretches. Maybe it's the 8 wk wonder wk although he doesn't seem any fussier.
Also, we are doing laundry and I put him in a 3-6 month sleeper while his clothes dry--and it fits! *tear* he's getting so big! Can't wait to see how tall he is on tues.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@hilsy85: I'll try the blankets, she was doing well until her 2 month shots then she refused to sleep in there again and hasn't since. She will be dead asleep and as soon as we lay her down she is wide awake and has to be consoled back to sleep. Last night was rough, we said we were going to make her sleep in there but by the time 1 o'clock hit we gave in and she slept until 9 am in her rock n play. I try naps in her crib but she never sleeps as well or long in there, but that is what we are doing tonight!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
I find C won't sleep "down" during the day, crib, bassinet, pnp, etc.
But at night she is fine in the bassinet, hopefully the pnp while we're away (worst case I will put her in bed with us I think?) and then hopefully the crib once we're back home!
Is it ok she doesn't during the day? Usually we're out and about or she will nap in swing!
@jessiejo17: When you lay her down do you ever try paci? I will think C is down in my arms/over my shoulder, go to lay her in bassinet and by the time I am laying her down her eyes are wide open! I throw the paci in and hold it in (she can't always keep it in on her own!) until she is out cold, she spits it out and then we leave her for the night.
GOLD / wonderful olive / 19030 posts
@Beebug: We did try a paci but she will always pull it out of her mouth but I might try again and hold it in and see if it will work. I'm willing to try anything again at this point! Last night was rough!
pomegranate / 3917 posts
Yah, I won't lie, sometimes I fall asleep with my hand in the bassinet from holding it in, by the time she spits it out (my hand goes useless, lol) and is out cold, I am not far behind her, and then DH lifts my arm back into bed. I still haven't figured out how this will work when we transition to crib, lol.
I just say to myself worst case we make a habit of this holding it in/using paci to go to sleep, we are making good sleep habits at the very least, so when she gets older she will at least be "ready" to sleep, and will maybe have to CIO. That's my thought anyways, not sure if it works that way

@hilsy85 & @mrskc - I started following you on Instagram!
Delaney is 10 weeks old today!!! She's definitely starting to get a little personality now! And she's getting great control of her head to look around and check stuff out.
We did her shots on Thursday and she did as good as I'd expect. No fever afterwards. She did sleep a little more and I snuggled with her a lot that afternoon/night.
She's 11 lbs 14 oz and 24 inches! She stayed in the same % - 75th and 95th respectively.
Still sleeping well at night in the crib (thank you miracle blanket). Breastfeeding is going well, I've been pumping once every morning since Thanksgiving and I've got 70 oz frozen. I go back to work on the 2nd... Only 2 full weeks left Boo!!!
Thinking of you mommas all the time Like @jessiej017 I will be back on more once I'm back at work! Trying to enjoy my Delaney as much as I can now!

@CarrieLouWho: glad you're doing well! I go back to work at beg of feb. not looking forward to leaving him in the care of someone else.
A has his 2 month appt tomorrow. I'm really nervous about all the shots he has to get. DH is taking the day off work to go with me.
squash / 13764 posts
Leo had his 2 month appt today. He took his shots like a champ, only cried for a minute. He's currently sleeping on me...hopefully he won't get a fever. He's 11lbs2oz, and about 23 .5 inches... I think their system for measuring length is off though, as he was first measured at 25.5 inches, lol.
@CarrieLouWho: glad you guys are doing well!
coconut / 8475 posts
@hilsy85: what's their system? Ours puts him flat on the bed, uses a pencil to mark the head then the feet. Then they remove the baby and measure the distance between the two. They use the examine paper that is underneath to mark on.
squash / 13764 posts
@TurtleDoves: they do the same thing...but if the paper is bunched under him or he's lying at an angle or he moves his feet, etc. it doesn't seem that accurate but I don't know that it's that important to know down to the exact measurement as long as its within the same range/similar percentile as the visit before.
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@CarrieLouWho: Awesome about Delaney's shots, I hope C handles everything well too!!!
@mrskc: Hope appt tomorrow goes well!
@hilsy85: Yay also about taking shots like a champ, this is making me hopeful!!! Weird about the length thing though, that doesn't make any sense!
We have Chels' shots and appt Friday, 10am. Looking forward to seeing how much she weighs! However we were at the doctor again today, I asked if he would do her shots and stuff today to get it done, but he said come Friday, boo.
So she's seen two doctor's and today my doctor thought nothing was wrong -she's just "found" her hands and it batting her ear....her hair could be tickling her, nothing to worry about. I still don't know if I buy it, but if two doctor's don't seem worried, I guess I will just go with the flow, she's eating/sleeping, everything normal, so I can't complain.
She is loving hanging out in the Beco facing out and "helping" me around the house, man that carrier is so cool, what a good purchase.
I have about 30oz pumped milk in the freezer, but got a bottle ready over last two days and in the fridge, leaving her after her next feeding to go out with a friend tonight, looking forward to it!!!
Off I go to make dins, hope everyone is doing well.
I'd really like some snow.....not feeling like Christmas is coming aaat all. We fly next Sunday, eeep!

@Beebug: hmm but didn't you say her ear is warm/red? If she was just playing with her hands that wouldn't affect her ear color/temp, no?
I forgot to mention that the pedi found a heart murmur during Leo's checkup...she didn't seem concerned, but we have an appt with a cardiologist in Jan. Anyone have any experience with that?
pomegranate / 3917 posts
@hilsy85: heat and red before we put mitten on it.....now that we covered it (and with more days passed, less mitten time) it's not hot at all, and hardly red, except when she gets going on it again.
I really don't know....!
