My update today said my uterus is the size of a SOCCER BALL! Felt about right, since I got measured today too at my appt. Baby was super easy and the doc found the heartbeat in like .2 seconds and commented on how easy baby was Hope that continues come fall!! HA!

@kjpugs: Yay for growth. A soccer ball is pretty big. I guess that's how our bellies probably look these days. I've lost all perspective.

@Jennimac: Congrats! Are we supposed to be counting kicks yet? My kicks are still very low so I can't see them. I can't see below the top of my belly anymore. But anyway -- sometimes the baby seems very active and other times, pretty quiet. I have no idea how it's supposed to be.

@corilyns: I think we aren't supposed to do that until the 30 week. I know I feel mine most of the day. She's not active around 10 am-ish unless I'm talking and same for mid afternoon.
Eta: 28 weeks

@kjpugs: I hope yours is a mellow baby too! So far, mine's been a wild child.
@corilyns: My kicks are super low too. I guess a watched belly doesn't jiggle. I think I'm just going to have to be patient instead of intently staring at it wondering if I'll see her move in there.

My LO is breech so I think it's her arms flailing about. They about 2-3 inches below my belly button to one side. Now last night she was moving around so much that it was popping above my belly button!!!! She is going crazy in there.

@Jennimac: That's awesome! I've been feeling the baby low quite a bit but when I lay down on my back he tends to move to the center of my belly. Between 9:30-10:30 PM I can usually see him moving all around. It is crazy!

@evansjamie: 99 days! That is so exciting!!! How are you feeling about everything? Overall, I would describe my feelings as nervous anticipation/excitement. It sometimes doesn't feel real that I will actually have a baby in just over 3 months -- or 100 days (assuming I counted correctly)!!!

@evansjamie: yay!!!!!!!!
@Sadieloo: she is moving up!! I'm feeling some whacks above the belly button.
Also, I have 115 days!!!

@Jennimac: Awesome! Now that I think about it - I didn't really start feeling him mid belly until the last week or so. It's crazy how much changes and so quickly. Hopefully we'll avoid body parts getting jammed in ribs and things like that

Just wanted to share with you gals -- if any of you are suffering from inner thigh chub rub (thanks pregnancy weight and east coast humidity) and/or love the comfort of stretchy and flowy clothes, I highly, highly recommend the Liz Lange maternity skirts from Target. So comfy and affordable!!! I have a feeling they will become a post-pregnancy staple in my closet.

@Sadieloo: I am feeling pretty good! Though, on Sunday, I looked at my husband and said, "I can't believe they are going to let us take her home in three months! Just, let us walk out with her!" There is so much to do, and it's all going to get done in August and September when he is here. Ahhh!

@Jennimac: @evansjamie: Thanks you guys for filling me in on this. Sorry it took me so long to respond...

@Sadieloo: Good looking out! On both counts. I'm going to Target's Web site now. I will say, tho, that Target maternity in-store in these parts (Chicago area) is pretty paltry. Oh and we went to one in Michigan and I was pretty disappointed too. I'm tired of Web shopping. The mailing back stuff that doesn't fit is a pain in my arse! So I'm sticking mostly to boutiques from now on.

@evansjamie: So you can see over your stomach? What is wrong with me? I won't see any kicks I don't think until they move above the belly button. Which is stretching by the way. When it pops, I'm going to cry. I guess worse things could happen. At least I don't have hemorrhoids yet. Which I can thank Good Belly probiotic shots.

@corilyns: no, she has moved up a bit. When I feel her kick most of the time, it's down low, but today she was kicking/punching right above my belly button.

@corilyns: Yeah - I was pretty disappointed with the selection here only two racks or so. H&M wasn't much better either and had mostly winter clothes. At least I was able to find something!

@corilyns: @Sadieloo: Yep, Target here is sorely lacking in the maternity department.

Great news at my ultrasound today! Both of the cysts on Baby Girl's brain have resolved, and I've been released from the MFM office! The calcium spot on her heart is still there, but the doctor said that 47% of babies without Downs have that too and it doesn't affect the heart function. My risk of Downs is 1 in 700, lower than the general population. This is the best day ever!
I didn't get a lot of cool pictures today, but they did give me some, and I'll try to scan one later. Little Miss is head down (of course, that can change), but I hope she stays that way. My BP was higher than normal (134/83), but I think that's attributed to running late and catching my neighbors' dog.
Hooray for Friday!

@Evansjamie: That's awesome to hear!! I'm so happy you got good news at your ultrasound, can't wait to see a pic!

I had my 1-hour glucose test on Wednesday and failed by 2 mgs!!! I completed my 3-hour glucose test this morning and passed with flying colors! Whew - I feel so relieved! I know after my first test on Wednesday, my OB told me she wasn't worried about me since baby was measuring on track and I've had minimal weight gain.
As for baby kicks...I think I have a little soccer player! I've been counting for the last 2 weeks and she gets her 10 kicks in within 5 minutes or less. She also seems to be on a 4-5 hour schedule...wouldn't it be nice if she stuck with that once she arrives in October???

So, I looked through the pictures I got, and they weren't fabulous. I think I got spoiled by the last ultrasound tech, because she really went above and beyond to take some nice keepsake photos. I'll never get over that thumbs up shot from four weeks ago. But look at my cute baby girl!

@EVANSJAMIE: She is precious! I have a 30 week ultrasound and a 36 week ultrasound...I cannot wait to see her again!

Ugh, all this talk of kicking is making me a nervous girl. I can go almost the whole day sometimes without kicks. Granted 11pm is always dance party time, and right now I am being attacked way low (it's almost reverberating on my vajayjay/butt haha!) but I think/hope it's the anterior placenta just effing with me. Every time they've seen baby they've commented how active baby is and kicking so much, and I do get kicks every day... just, UGH. Nerves. 25 weeks Monday. My OB hasn't mentioned counting kicks, is it # of kicks a day or what specifically will we have to count? I wish I had thought to bring this up at my appt Tuesday. They asked me if baby was kicking and I said yes but we didn't talk about how much. WOMPPPPPP.
In better news, Two WEEKS til we reveal boy or girl to everyone
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: don't worry! I'm just about a week ahead of you and I just started feeling them more regularly. My placenta is on the front/top of my uterus (transverse) so anything I felt before (and mostly now too) is really low on my cervix. Just a few days ago is when I started feeling them higher and seeing them too.
I can't wait until your gender reveal!
kiwi / 726 posts
@evansjamie: so happy to hear the good news! Hope things continue to be on the up and up for you!!! And that thumbs up picture is priceless!
pomelo / 5073 posts
@kjpugs: I wouldn't worry!!! I think since my placenta is posterior, that accounts for why I feel a lot of the movement. There is nothing blocking it and my uterus was already stretched out a bit from before.
As for counting kicks, some sources say they don't do that anymore, but some say if you haven't felt them move in awhile, drink cold water or juice or something sugary and lay down and see if you feel them moving then. I wouldn't worry!
Also, I can't wait until your reveal!!! I wish you would PM all of us on our walls and tell us.

Great news!!! Baby threw a total dance party after I posted (you know the usual... complain about it and baby does the opposite to prove you wrong... stubborn already) and I FINALLY got DH to feel baby kick! It was maybe a 6 or 7 on the scale of 1-10 (10 being strongest kick I've felt yet) but still he was like WHOA!!!!! Funnest ever I also forgot to mention I got my first request of "can I feel your belly" which I thought would annoy me but it didn't. I guess because I don't get out much they'll be few and far between and maybe less annoying!?

@Jennimac: if you (or ANYONE in this group) want to know Gold message me privately (or on twitter, fb, etc) and I'll tell!!!! As long as you definitely want to know!! A bunch of my internet friends know because we HAD to tell people. DH told his work friends, I told internet friends hahaha

@kjpugs: I think I feel the same as @evansjamie, I really want to know but I kinda love the surprise aspect of it all
pomelo / 5073 posts
@kjpugs: I would love to say that I could wait until the surprise, but I know I can't! I'm messaging you right now!!!!!!!
ETA: I will be quiet with my new found knowledge.

AFM, My MIL and FIL just took me to a baby furniture store and bought us WAAAAAY better furniture then we would have bought ourselves. Plus a kick butt crib mattress. So generous! I'm so excited to cross something that big off our list.
I included pictures to show my excitement!
*The crib looks soooo dark in the maker's photo but it's the same color as the dresser which I took in the store.
