Oh my gosh ladies, the air conditioning is out in my part of the office. Our thermostat needs a new battery, and naturally there is not one AAA battery in the entire building. To add to this, I'm wearing long sleeves since I'm running out of shirts that fit the belly.

Is it time to go home?

@evansjamie: YES! Can you work from home?

@MrsMed: @Chillybear: To top it off, I am without a car right now! AHHHHH. I'm taking breaks in cooler areas of the building for now, since it will take my husband 45 minutes to get here.

Sorry I haven't been on here in a while. How is everyone feeling? I think baby girl finally dropped. Last night I felt "off". I couldn't place my finger on why. I woke up this morning and my belly is super duper low. Plus I was having tiny contractions. I hope she stays a couple more weeks, but I wouldn't mind meeting her at 37 weeks. Is anyone using Primrose Oil?

@dreamcatcher: nope not yet.... i'm due 10/9 so only just started week 33.

@Chillybear: Today is 34 weeks for me. It's going by so fast!!

@dreamcatcher: Good luck! You must be so excited. Do you know if you're starting to dialate yet? What does primrose oil do?

  13. avivoca

    watermelon / 14467 posts

@dreamcatcher: Hey there due date twin! I'm 34 weeks today, I definitely feel like she has dropped. My pelvic bone is really aching today, but for work purposes I really need her to stay in until September 30.

  14. dreamcatcher

    pea / 22 posts

@MrsMed: My 32 week appointment my cervix was squishy (as the doctor called it) said I was starting to efface. No dilation yet. Primrose Oil helps efface and softens things down there. I'm going to start using it so I don't tear this time. That was the worst part of recovery last time.

@evansjamie: I'm opposite, for work purposes 37 weeks is perfect timing I can't believe we only have 6 weeks or less! My hips have been achy. I swear my pelvic bone is going to break in half some days.

@dreamcatcher: Well, personally, I'd love for her to come on her time, but we have a publication that I'm the editor of and the final edits are needing to be done by September 27. Also, we've got a ton of events coming up, and the more comp time I have banked, the more time I get paid during leave and I won't have to come back before Jan. 2.

@evansjamie: That's a good reason for her to keep cooking! I hope she stays till end of September for you!

Hi ladies!!!! We had our first full week back at school and it is wearing me out!!!! The temp is back up and the humidity is in full force. Not cool for this pregnant lady. Fun fact for the day: I had recess duty today and I was really dreading it because it is so hot. Well, I get out there and not even two minutes go by and it starts to pour!!!! Inside recess! I was so happy to be back in the ac.

My dr is now having me go weekly. They took my bp in Monday and it was the highest it's ever been. I started to freak out. I have no swelling, no headaches, nothing!!! They had me wait a few minutes and they took it again and it only dropped a few points. Dr did the ultrasound and then he took my bp for me. Well, he switched to the larger cuff and the nurses were like, she doesn't need the large cuff. Well, he takes it and it drops 20 points into the normal range and about where I've been the whole time!!! He was like, you are fine. I think you just get nervous and ill just start seeing you weekly. No biggie.

It does make me feel better. I don't have too much time to get crazy thoughts. Or at least not any crazier than I normally have.

We have the pack and play set up, diapers, and I'm going to wash some clothes. I did get the car seat set up in the car and I had it checked out by a car seat tech. She told me she had never had one that was so perfect! I was pleased because I really studied the manual.

@Jennimac: sounds like my BP issues last time ... It was all over the map, but I still think a lot of it was nerves. Still, I had to start going weekly and one time I had to do the 24-hour urine. Gah. But never anything else to suggest pre-e.

Meanwhile, I set up my PNP today so I could take some pics and sell it on Craigslist Never used it, and I'm in a purging mood!

@Mrs. Yoyo: thanks! When I've been searching past threads for bp issues, I've been reading your old posts. Hopefully, it won't turn out to be anything serious. At this point, I'm glad they will just see me each week.

It's finished!!!! We nailed the new back on the dresser and I decoupaged wrapping paper from Target into the drawers since some of them were stained. On top of the dresser is the owl lamp that my husband picked up for me. I saw it in IN at JCPenney, and we searched all over our city and in Ohio (where he was stationed for a few week) and finally found just across the river in Clarksville. I love it!

The dresser was a Restore find. I stained the outside last year and painted the drawers with some antique white paint I had already. The drawer knobs are from Target (top drawers) and Lowes.

@EVANSJAMIE: Excellent work on the dresser and cute glider Is the ottoman a storage cube?

  28. Chillybear

    @evansjamie: love the dresser!
@Mrs. Yoyo: your ottoman is so cute!

has anyone had a bunch of Braxton hicks contractions in a row? before i was only getting one offs but midday yesterday i had 7-10 in a row in the space of less than 2 hours that were pretty uncomfortable. I laid down and drank like 3 bottles of water. eventually they passed without incident but left me worried that they were real contractions instead of braxton hicks. We are not ready for baby to be here....

  29. Mrs. Yoyo

    blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts

@mrs. mochi: @Chillybear: yup, it's a storage ottoman from Target! Couldn't justify the money or space that the matching one would require.

@mrs. mochi: @Chillybear: Thanks! I'm super proud of it. It's the most complicated refinish I've done since I had to sand the old finish off first.

@Chillybear: I have had some Braxton-Hicks in a row. It's nerve wracking, so I'm trying to stay cool and keep drinking water. I notice it happens on days where I don't drink at least 60 oz. of water.

@Mrs. Yoyo: I love your storage ottoman! We have a gliding one, but I my cats took it over and I like to have it in the living room for extra seating.

My MIL painted the nursery this weekend and we arranged the furniture. I will post a pic later once the mattress arrives (Wednesday). My FIL and DH installed wood floors on our main floor this weekend...this weekend was full on nesting!

@Evansjamie: I love the owl lamp, that's adorable.

@Mrs. Yoyo: Your ottoman is awesome!

So this is my TMI question of the day, are you ladies using anything for stretch marks? I realize it might be fighting a losing battle but I'll try anything...

  33. Mrs. Yoyo

    blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts

@Redmini1: Thanks! As for stretch marks ... honestly, I wouldn't bother. You can slather on anything you want, but if you're gonna get them, nothing will stop them. And if you don't, it's lucky genes and not some magic cream. Of course, there are others who may swear by whatever, but I don't believe them

@mrs. mochi: I can't wait to see pictures!

@Redmini1: Thanks! It came from JCPenney, and I searched online but I couldn't find it until now: http://www.jcpenney.com/dotcom/for-the-home/college-living/room-decor/lighting-lamps/happy-chic-by-jonathan-adler-lola-owl-accent-lamp/prod.jump?ppId=pp5002440392&catId=cat1002350025&deptId=cat1002350013&dimCombo=null&dimComboVal=null

Also, no, I've been using lotion, but it's a losing battle.

Another note: the air conditioning is STILL DOWN in my part of the office. Thank goodness I wore a skirt and short sleeves. There's a part they are waiting on and it's 80* in the director's office and my supervisor's office. We have our overhead lights off so it's marginally cooler in here, but ice water is my best friend.

  36. Chillybear

    pomegranate / 3032 posts

@Redmini1: knocking on wood but at 34ish weeks i only have stretch marks on the underside of my boobs... I normally have dry skin and psoriasis so i've been using burts bees mama butter or body shop body butter since day 1 religiously. But in talking to my mom she didnt really get any stretch marks so maybe i lucked out genetically too.

@Mrs. Yoyo: Love, love, love that storage cube. So cute!

@mrs. mochi: Awesome that you got so much done on your nursery this weekend! Can't wait to see a pic!

@Chillybear: I have yet to have Braxton Hicks contractions -- I think.

So we are now 100% moved in (at least our boxes and furniture are) and now comes the fun part, unpacking! I also had my 34 week apt. today. Baby boy is doing well and his heartbeat got a little faster when I talked My midwife reminded me that at this stage if I have him, he is coming home with me -- yikes! Let's hope he bakes for 6 more weeks so we can get completely settled and have a little time to relax too.

    How is everyone feeling?

I am loving everything everyone has got to put the nurseries together! We just got our stroller in the mail today (and got the carseat last week!) so we can get them figured out and in the car now! We also did our hospital tour yesterday, it was AWESOME. I somehow picked the best hospital in the area. It's like a hotel. Bonus! DH is REALLY excited now after our trip. It was so funny to see the other moms on the tour- one was due after me and looked like she could pop any day, one was due in less than 2 weeks and looked my size. I got to explain how torsos being long/short can effect your bump to DH, who was VERY confused

Oh and re: BH - I haven't had any (that I know of, but I assume I'd know if I had one!) And stretch marks- a few more, but I've struggled with them forever. I am also in the "nothing you can do" camp! DH tried to point them out like "oh looks like you got some stretch marks" and i was like you idiot I've had those since high school (the ones he was pointing to) but THANKS FOR NOTICING. haha! Seriously... MEN!

  39. MrsMed

    apricot / 377 posts

@Chillybear: I think I have BHs all the time. Especially at night. I have no idea what's fake and what's real. They eventually go away, so I TRY not to worry. The baby tends to move afterwards, I feel him/her when I'm laying on the sofa or in bed resting, but still, it makes me uneasy. How do you know the real thing.
Plus I have a lot of pressure on my pelvis and bladder.

    how are you feeling?

  40. MrsMed

    apricot / 377 posts

@Redmini1: I use almond oil from Whole Foods. It's a little bottle, about 8 bucks. I've only gotten a few tiny ones so far, they are on the sides of my baby belly. So I'm not sure if that's because of the oil or because of genes. My Mom got them, but so far I've been lucky. It can't hurt to try. Plus, if you do get them badly, there's always Strivectin, which people swear by. But I don't know if it really works.
