Y'all, I feel like total crap today. Posted another thread about it because I'm a little worried. Any of you having dull period like cramps / back pain?
watermelon / 14467 posts
@daniellemybelle: Anytime I have dull cramps like that, I do three things: Try to go #2, drink a crap ton of water, and lay down/put my feet up. Usually it's because I have to go to the bathroom (that's how it's always manifested when it's been awhile). I think you should call your doctor though if you are worried.
cantaloupe / 6669 posts
@evansjamie: I went #2 last night (TMI haha!) but I did have a big heavy meal so that might be part of it. I feel kind of dumb to call but I'm going to anyway!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@daniellemybelle: There's no such thing as TMI among friends . The cramping doesn't worry me as much with me because that's how my...#2 feelings...have always manifested, especially when I'm out on a run (and there's no worse feeling than being miles from the closest public restroom when you have to GO). Don't feel bad about calling, that's what they are there for! I hope you hear that everything is ok!
kiwi / 726 posts
@daniellemybelle: I agree with @evansjamie: no such thing as TMI. In the last week or so, my body has been feeling quite different overall. I also had period-ish like cramps/slight discomfort that were taken care of after #2. Hope you feel better and your doc can alleviate any concerns you have.

Is anybody here rocking their pre-pregnancy bikini/two-piece swimsuit? I have avoided going to the pool all summer, but with the heat wave that has hit my area, the pool is sounding awesome. Plus, I have been invited to go with some friends; however, with less than 6 weeks left to go, I'm not sure I want to buy a maternity suit...
watermelon / 14467 posts
@mrs. mochi: I tried the bikini on, but it wouldn't contain my boobs. I have a tankini that I would wear folded up. Unfortunately, all the public pools closed early this year, so no pool for me.
cherry / 175 posts
@EVANSJAMIE: Yes, the extra boobage has eliminated a lot of my tops because I tended to favor bandeau style; however, I have one halter style that seems to hold them in - no massive cleavage or side boob. We'll see how I "brave" I feel...no stretch marks but I have a little linea nigra action going on...not to mention a 35.5 week belly - can't call it a bump any more!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@mrs. mochi: Yeah, it's stretch mark city on my belly. I don't normally wear bikinis, but depending on how my belly looks post baby, I may stick strictly to the one-piece/tankini look.
apricot / 286 posts
@Mrs. Mochi: I've been rocking a maternity tankini from Old Navy all summer. I found a nice one with halter style top that actually keeps my boobs in and secure. Nothing's better than floating in the pool. It takes all the weight off and cools me down! And yes, I have stretch marks from my twins and am starting to get stretch marks. Any embarrassment I could feel is trumped by my comfort right now. Be brave and dive in!

I have been searching for a used BOB stroller, hoping it would be my only stroller. My husband's coworker is selling a 2008 model for $175. The stroller is in good condition (I've seen pictures and am going to test it out this weekend). Unfortunately, I apparently bought the most finicky car seat known to man, because Britax/Bob doesn't sell a car seat adapter for any model manufactured before November 2010 that will work with a Graco Snugride 35 Click Connect. So I said eff it, if this is a good stroller, I'll just buy a snap-and-go too and it will still be cheaper than buying a brand new BOB and the car seat adapter.
blogger / pomelo / 5400 posts
@evansjamie: You will probably be happier with a snap n go for the first little while anyway. I have a BOB and it's nice, but it's a beast that takes up a lot of trunk space if you're on the go. The stroller frames are so much more convenient for tossing in the car.
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Mrs. Yoyo: Yeah, at this point I just don't care anymore. It's not like I'll be jogging with the baby for a long time. I just wanted to take some leisurely walks on the park trails and to only have one stroller. But the BOB is a beast.

Now that we're almost a month in advance... and EVERYONE I know seems to be going early... who do we think is going to be first from our board to have their baby?!??!?! I'm so anxious to find out!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait til we can add an "October Babies" list with their names (if people want to share) and birthdates!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@evansjamie: LOL I KNOW! i am feeling the same way. I have SUPER anxiety about not going early due to my in-law's visit schedule and when I would go back to work. Please let baby girl be late! (I will regret saying that, haha!)
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@kjpugs: @evansjamie: you may be in luck, none of the September mommas have gone early. We have an induction on Tuesday but that's September!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@jetsa: wow! That's good to know! I feel like EVERYONE I know is going early but maybe that's just because I'm scared to, I keep noticing it more!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@kjpugs: Yes, if she could stay in until September 28, I would be able to be out of work until January 2 AND will have made it through my work deadlines.
@jetsa: I hope so! Hey, how are you feeling? Is your BP still okay?
watermelon / 14467 posts
Also, today is the first day that my entire belly skin feels stretched. The stretchmarks have migrated above my navel.
grapefruit / 4663 posts
@kjpugs: we expected to have some truthfully and nope, I'm trying to talk this baby into coming early but it's not listening which is funny considering in my poll I chose 10/1 and girl and now I think early and will be shocked if baby isn't a boy.
@evansjamie: thanks for asking! I'm doing pretty well with the BP meds we've got my blood pressure under control so now I'm just waiting on baby to decide to make its appearance. Most dr's induce at 39 weeks with chronic high BP but mine isn't planning on it.

Hey ladies - I updated my other thread but all is well! Unfortunately this crampiness is just another lovely pregnancy symptom...
@jetsa gave me the idea that we should all guess our baby's birthdays! I think I am going to go a few days late. LO seems really happy in there. Her EDD is Oct 15 - I'm thinking Oct 19?
kiwi / 726 posts
@daniellemybelle: great idea! I agree with @evansjamie: @kjpugs: and think this baby is going to be late. I'm going to guess Oct.9th. If it's any consolation, @kjpugs: out of my three friends due in August one was 2 days late, one was 3 days late and the third was 1 day early. The first two were first baby's and the third baby was my friend's second baby.
kiwi / 726 posts
@daniellemybelle: Glad to hear your crampiness is just a symptom of pregnancy and nothing else!!!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Sadieloo: ooo fun idea! I guess either October 11th (that's DH's guess and his dad's birthday) or October 16th (that's my preferred day and my hope! I just have it in my head!)

Hi all! Sorry to disappear. This was our first week back to work and of course, the first hot week of summer in Ohio. It was brutal and I am beyond tired. Our baby shower is tomorrow at our house so we've (mainly DH) has been busting his butt getting everything ready. My jobs start today (cleaning, cleaning, cleaning)! I hope everyone is doing well!
AFM, I'm uncomfortable all the time and am starting to swell. I blame most of it on the heat and being back to work. FYI, schools in my district don't have AC so it's been bad. I am terrified of going early so I keep praying I can make it to Oct 22 or even later!
I better go get my butt moving, I'll post pics later. Nursery is almost done!
apricot / 286 posts
I think I'm going to be late... don't think this baby is going to come naturally or early. So, I'm going to guess October 22 -- a day we are scheduling a c-section if we go past the due date.
kiwi / 726 posts
@ladybee: sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. As a teacher (I'm assuming you are one) you must be on your feet a lot which can't help. I too have been having some swelling (bye bye all rings), pelvic pressure and general discomfort, especially when I sleep. I have been telling myself it is just my body's way of preparing for labor and delivery. Hang in there!!!
@kjpugs: I stole it from @daniellemybelle:
@evansjamie: a full week? I hope that doesn't happen to any of us (and I just jinxed myself). I already asked my midwife what I can do to help my body prepare and she suggested raspberry leaf tea and lots of pineapple, both of which irritate (i.e. stimulate) the uterus, starting at 36 weeks.
@Tfrances: that doesn't sound too bad
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Sadieloo: Well, according to LMP, my due date is 10/4, the ultrasounds pegged it as 10/6, and according to my O date, my DD would be 10/12. So I'm preparing to go at least a week over.
kiwi / 726 posts
@evansjamie: maybe we'll be the same date then?!? My LMP would also put me at 10/4 and conception date (we actually know) at 10/6. At my 20 week sonogram I was measuring ahead of schedule. We'll see! We are getting close!!!
watermelon / 14467 posts
@Sadieloo: We're totally twins! And yeah, I hear you on the close. I've been doing so. much. laundry, and all of it belongs to someone who is hanging out in my uterus.
I asked my husband if he would move the washer and dryer out of the laundry closet so I could clean the walls/repaint. He said no, unless we were getting a new w/d. We aren't, since I just bought these last year. Clearly, he doesn't understand nesting.

@ladybee: happy shower day!!! My feet started swelling a little bit yesterday. I had to sit down and prop my feet up.
@TFrances: that's my youngest sister's bday!!!
I think I'm going to go early. I really don't think my doctor will have me go past my date, especially since DH has just a certain amount of time off. I've been measuring ahead and I really don't know where is is going to go for 7 more weeks. I'm predicting October 17.

@evansjamie: Lol. It is amazing how much laundry baby's require. I think it hasn't hit me yet because we just upgraded from an apartment size washer/dryer to a full size one. I think my husband is going to kill me because I keep adding things to our painting/to do list. It really does make the house look ten times better though
@Jennimac: Thanks for updating all the B-days! Hope your feet are feeling better.

@Jennimac: I hope you are feeling better!
@ladybee: No A/C at all? How cruel! It would be so hard to concentrate on work/school when it's this hot. I hope it's much cooler next week for you.
@Sadieloo: Yep, I'm sure my husband is tired of all the parenting projects and to-do lists.
We did our completion at BRU today. We didn't get everything, just the necessary things. Between the completion discount, the 20% off on one reg. price item, and our $25 gift card, we saved $143 (includes the free video monitor we got for spending at least $150). All in all, a good haul. Now, all I need to do is get my Amazon completion code and get my stuff off there. It's so exciting!
But first, I'm taking a break from baby laundry to do grown-up laundry.
