@MapleMoose: Right now dealing with the immense swelling and blistering is far worse than the tiny bit of pain left from my c-section. I think I would've felt pretty back to normal today if it weren't for that. Thanks for asking.

Well, we decided to set a date to be induced. It was a tough decision and I am still hoping the little man decides to come naturally but if he doesn't we will be induced on the evening of the 23rd.

@Meltini: goodluck with your induction. I needed up having contraction when I went into my induction and after two gels they let me labor completely naturally without even breaking my waters so you never know!!

After a 3rd session of acupuncture I went into labor!
I had acupuncture at 9:30 am, list my MP at about 2:00pm was in labor at 3:30 at the hospital at 8pm and after 5 1/2 minutes (!) of pushing our sweet baby John Amos arrived at 4:07am on 9/19. He is a big guy 9lbs 11oz, 22 inches. We are of course so in love and his sister (at least for now) is smitten as well -

Ahhhh I'm so behind! Between navigating this whole new world of parenthood and spotty wi-fi, I have barely been able to catch up! We are doing well (although my body feels like it's been hot by a truck, and my episiotomy stitches are giving me hell) and H is absolutely the love of my life

I added in my little one. AFM, they took the steri-strips off of my c-section incision because they think it's what's causing the horrible allergic reaction, but so far still have all of the c-section pain plus the oozing blisters all over my belly.

@LittleGBee: I'm so sorry! That has to be hard but I totally agree with indulging in ice cream. Given my cervix was closed the day before my c-section I would probably still be pregnant too if he wasn't breech.

@Mrs squirreld: How did we all end up with hairy babies?! I've heard tears are really rough to deal with. Are you taking any meds?

@LittleGBee: I'm right there with you. Just had a little cry fest that the baby isn't making moves. I'm due on Monday. As of right now I'm just about 2cm and 50% effaced.

@Mrs squirreld: I was 6 hours total as well. Just 4 hours active labor and it was only 4 hours on oxytocin.
@marionberry: @Mrs squirreld: right?!?! So many hairy boys! I have a 2nd degree tear as well and it was great until today. I'm guessing the swelling is going down because I've been having some pain again. Truthfully I expected it to be horrible and it's better than expected.

@MrsClownfish: I KNOW that the cervical checks really show no sort of indication of labor or whatever, but perhaps you can feel a little better knowing that I'm not even that yet? Apparently I just grow babies big, I grow babies late, and I grow babies that don't drop.
I see hill walking in my future tomorrow, lots and lots of hills.

@jetsa: @Mrs squirreld: (and anyone else with tears): Sorry ladies! I had a 2.5 degree tear with my first and it's NOT comfortable. The nurse showed us how to stuff newborn diapers with ice and my mom stocked the freezer with them. It was the only thing that really helped. Well, that, and keeping up with the extra strength tylenol.

@marionberry: I was pretty surprised that S had hair! I don't think Dh or I had much at all at birth. Hers is fair like me so it doesn't look like a huge covering, but it's long at the back!

I can't imagine how you must feel but I know I am super scared of having a poop and my tearing was minimal.

Well ladies I wanted to update yesterday but didn't get a chance. baby girl Finley Grace was born yesterday 9/20/13. We are totally in love. Labor was fast and furious, but I'll give all the details and a photo when i'm not on my phone.

I think I just lost part of my mucus plug but not sure.... Was two thick stringy globs that were white/ yellowish

I know I have my induction scheduled for Monday evening but I'm feeling pretty down about the fact that I haven't gone naturally yet. I haven't even noticed losing my mucus plug. Even though I have an end date, I currently feel like I am going to be pregnant forever. Ugh. Come on little man, make your move!!

@MrsClownfish: I think mine was 2 blobs about the size of quarters of brown goo which came out in the shower once I was already in labour. If that wasn't it and was just part of the bloody show, then I guess I never saw the plug! Yours sounds like what I've heard from others though!

@Meltini: aww bless you. He is going to be here so soon though! I had the same thoughts as my due date approached and others started having babies in the group. What I should have done was concentrate on resting and enjoying doing a few "me" things before she arrived. Hope you can take some time to do something fun with your Dh
