@gingerbebe: I have some that can cover 3 sides but we have the Graco Lauren crib and L actually gnawed the back of the crib and a teething rail won't cover it. It's awful!

@gingerbebe: I'm very jealous of your two motn pees. I think my count's around 5-10? I have a genuinely tiny bladder, and I can NOT sleep if I have to pee at all. Add her kicking my bladder all the time, and I'm peeing non-stop, even with cutting myself off on liquids later in the evening. Though I'm bad at that because I'm always thirsty, and I can't go too long without water without the BH's getting bad. There's no way to win.

@Pancakes:
@Torchwood: That sucks! I can't imagine getting up that many times a night and making it into the office in the morning.
Ugh, I think my morning sickness is trying to creep back into my life. I felt queasy and sick all day yesterday and woke up feeling the same way. During a super busy week at work too!
At least its cool and breezy today and not 115 or whatever it was over the weekend. What's everyone up to today?
pomelo / 5607 posts
@gingerbebe: Well, thankfully I don't have to get up and be somewhere most days. But I've always had to get up at least a few times a night, so after all these years I pretty much just sleepwalk through it. It is a LOT nicer to have an en suite bathroom though. When we were living with my mom we were sleeping in the (finished, obviously) basement, and there wasn't a bathroom down there. That was frustrating.
Where do you live that it's so hot? Even the hottest days here (TN) haven't been miserable yet. It's coming soon though, ick. I prefer cold over hot any day.

@Torchwood: I live in Northern California where it gets scorching in the summers. At least its dry heat. I put my time in on the East Coast and that mugginess is the worst.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@torchwood that is crazy you are up that many times in the MOTN! I would be a zombie. I am usually only up 1-2 times these days, thankfully. (Down from 3-4).
@gingerbebe hope you aren't getting MS back! Hope its just temporary.

Hi ladies! Just caught up with two weeks of reading this thread (again!) I don't know what my problem is, I have been so bad with keeping up over here!
Sh*t is starting to get real, real fast. We toured the Childhood Development Center that we will most likely enroll the baby in after my 16 week maternity leave. It's on my work campus and while it's pretty pricey, it's still cheaper than hiring a nanny. I loved it way more than I thought I would, but it was so weird thinking about lugging in a kid and bag and gear and dropping them off for the day as a part of my daily routine. It is starting to feel so imminent!
Just finished my registry, all on Amazon (baby stores make me depressed and stabby) and I have 100 items, which felt like a crazy amount until my mom said the same thing some of yours have - put more on there! I have four showers - church, work, home (in SD), and family (in Chicago). One shower is one big gift and I'm getting my car seat, but the others will have 25-35 people each. I hope they just go in together to buy my pricier items!
We are really really anti baby clutter. I will get put in my place is 15 weeks, I know! But in the meantime, I'm keeping my registry pretty small. But I am going to go back and increase the number of bottle, towels, bibs and burp clothes thanks to your advice!
I have my glucose test tomorrow morning. Fingers crossed!
nectarine / 2180 posts
Oooh, for you FTMs working on your registries, don't forget a white noise machine. The Marpac Dohm is really the best thing we bought the first time around and I wish we'd had it from the get-go. Definitely getting another one for baby #2!

I have my 28w appointment today, and I think this is when appointments start being every 2 weeks.... Which means time is really going to go by quickly!
coffee bean / 44 posts
I'm 25w3d, and my next appointment is at 27w2d - that's when I'll have my glucose test. After that, according to the paper they gave me, my appointments are going to be every three weeks until I get to 32 weeks, every two weeks until 35, and weekly after that. Although if you count, the numbers are off so I'm not positive.
At any rate, I'm about a week and a half away from starting my third trimester and that doesn't seem like a long time at all for all the preparations we have left to do. On the other hand, I am making progress, so I hope that my husband picks up his pace too.

Wow @mrs. jump rope! 28 weeks... so crazy. I think once I hit 30 weeks its going to get reallllly real. My 28 week apt is a week from Monday and then I start going every 2 weeks. Eek!
Had a total meltdown yesterday over the nursery. The furniture store basically told me I had to take delivery in the next 30 days or else (even though the furniture arrived 5 weeks early!?) and I started crying and said okay even though I meant to say no way and stand up for myself... Is anyone else in the cry over everything stage? I haven't been like this at all and this week it is just constant! Everything makes me cry!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: yay, good luck! I just had mine on wed. I have to see them every two weeks now too, although going to be a lil late next one cuz I'm on VACATION!!!
@psw27: that's weird. Did they order it early or something? Hope everything works out!
@LatteLove: good luck w glucose test!
How long did it take to get results? My doc said a week! I don't remember waiting long for my first pregnancy....
nectarine / 2180 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Exciting! I'm 27 weeks on Sunday but my 28 week appt isn't until almost the end of 28 weeks. I'm kind of ready to get this glucose test over with!
@psw27: With my first pregnancy, I remember feeling like 30 weeks was a major milestone...I think I'll probably feel that way this time, too.
@tequiero21: Woohoo! Vacation!!!!!

@Pancakes: I really want pancakes.
Work is so aggravating today. UGH.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@gingerbebe: We totally had pancakes for dinner a couple nights ago. Do it!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@tequiero21 no, they ordered it a few days after we went in (we went in on a Sunday so guessing on Wednesday when they reopened?) and it just happened to come in less than 3 weeks later! That doesn't seem like my problem though! I think DH is handling it.
@pancakes I agree, 30 weeks is a big milestone to me in my head! I think its more important than even hitting 3rd trimester. I just want this little guy to keep cooking as long as possible...and then promptly evacuate once his due date comes

@psw27: I am SUCH a cry baby lately. I cry when trying to communicate the most simple and unemotional things. I was telling E about planning my baby shower (which I'm so excited about) yesterday, and I burst into tears! It's frustrating because I cannot control even when I know I'm being ridiculous!

@tequiero21: I had mine this morning and they told me that I would know on Monday! A weeks seems like a long time to wait.

@tequiero21: My order is in for my test, but haven't taken it yet. But, when I do it I usually have my results online within 24 hours.

@LatteLove: @psw27: I cry all the time lately. I don't even bat an eye anymore. I read something cute, SOB. I see a commercial, SOB. I read an article, SOB.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@gingerbebe: @LatteLove: @psw27: I've cried 3 times because menus at restaurants didn't have what I wanted.
2 nights ago I cried because I was tired and we weren't home yet so I couldn't go to sleep. I also cried when our hotel room wasn't ready for check in.
And I cry every. single. time. I think about meeting our baby. When I try to picture him and picture my husband holding him. Sob!
A lot of songs make me cry too that normally wouldn't. Changes by David Bowie?!?! Weird!!!!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@Gingerbebe @lattelove @sweetiepie glad it's not just me! I cried yesterday over the pedigree commercial and something on tv showing a child birth.

Anyone else feeling really easily winded already? I swear I don't remember this with my first pregnancy. I'm blaming my first trimester SCH and the horribly long winter for being out of shape. We are in a 3-story townhouse and I'm already finding myself avoiding the stairs if possible. It's things like this that are making this pregnancy drag for me!
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@Pancakes: not winded but just tired? We went for a walk this evening and half way around I was like, crap this sucks! Andy bra is getting tighter, and I hate buying new ones. I don't know how my boobs could possibly get any bigger but it's happening.
My belly is also soooo close to touching my steering wheel. I should stop driving.. got 11 weeks left, so this will be hard!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: That happened to my friend! She's like 4'11" and her belly had no place to go but out, so she literally couldn't drive the last 2 months of her pregnancy! Her parents had to come drive her places and she'd send me texts like "I have no groceries."
hostess / papaya / 10540 posts
@Pancakes: Yes, easily winded. Out shopping is the worse, l have moments where I HAVE to sit because I feel like I will pass out.
@Mrs. Jump Rope: That looks like me! I keep scooting my seat back, but I can't keep tip toe driving!
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@gingerbebe: I'm 5' and drive an SUV. I'm like @Boogs: and can't scoot my seat back any farther.
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: That's emotional. Did you have to stop driving when you were preggo with C? Also, I thought of you last night and your snowsuit analogy because I got my Snoogle all arranged perfect and then had to get up to pee. I was devastated.
Had a really good Father's Day, except our neighbor's dog woke us up with really loud barking. Complained to the landlord and settled our lease situation FINALLY. Now we can set up the baby's gear!
Had DH's favorite ice cream air mailed for his Father's Day gift from baby. We also got him a new paper shredder for his office because the other one died. I made him pancakes for breakfast (@Pancakes, they were so good...cinnamon raisin brulee and chocolate chip!) and moco loco for dinner, per his request. I even made cookies to turn his gifted ice cream into ice cream sandwiches for dessert.
Went to Costco for gas, groceries, and a carwash next door. Prepped our lunches and snacks for the week and threw a casserole in the oven to have on hand. Also baking a loaf of bread since the oven's on anyway.
Slept a ton and hung out with some friends with a pool yesterday. I didn't get off work until 10pm on Friday so I was really needing to unwind. Took a fatty nap this afternoon and went to bed relatively early last night, so hopefully I'll be chipper tomorrow.
In other news, our friends gave us their kid's Britax convertible seat because they didn't need it anymore, so that's neat! It will be nice to have that down the line.
How was everyone else's weekend?
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@gingerbebe: nope! I drove a much smaller car then and my belly wasn't this big.
pomelo / 5607 posts
Been gone the last couple of days because I was out of town at my first shower! It was the smallest one, so didn't get a ton of gifts or anything, but I LOVE what we got, and we had fun! The big one was that we got the bedding (http://smile.amazon.com/Woodland-Animals-Sweet-Jojo-Designs/dp/B00AB0HV88/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1402934891&sr=8-3&keywords=woodland+bedding- doing a twin size floor bed, not a crib), so we can paint the nursery now! We were waiting to make sure we coordinated the colors properly. I'm still nervous about how big the shower this coming weekend is, but I'm excited too.
So, tmi/personal question, but I'm wondering now. How are ya'll on sex/orgasms? We hadn't risked it since we were in ATL, because that was right before my BH's started getting so bad and I was worried that contributed. Tried again, and O-ing definitely does not feel that good anymore. My belly got so tight it was painful, and as I feared, it set of a chain of one-on-top-of-the-other BH's. One book I read said that O-ing was supposed to be better pregnant, even after sex got uncomfortable, but I definitely am not agreeing.

@Torchwood: aw exciting!! I can't wait for our showers! I've been meaning to ask you, are you still being monitored? With ultrasounds, etc?
pomelo / 5607 posts
@Littlebit: Yep. Next one is Wednesday. That should give us a little better idea since it will have been 4 weeks (last time it was only 2.5 between). They said once I get to 34 weeks they'll see if she needs to go ahead and come out (that's only 6 weeks away, eek!), or start monitoring much more frequently. So lots of fingers crossed over here that Wednesday will bring good news.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: I hadn't even thought of this issue... I too drive an SUV (not often, really only on weekends) and I am all belly so it might be hitting soon! I'm a bit taller than you, but not much!
honeydew / 7968 posts
@Torchwood: ooooh good luck! Keeping u in my thoughts, hoping all goes well and she's able to cook longer without any issues. Have a blast at your next shower! So lucky to have so many people who care about u!!!
@gingerbebe: yay for settling lease situation! How stressful, eh? With the car seat, just make sure it's not expired by the time u use it!
On my front, this is our third attempt on buying a house. This time, we passed inspection!!! So now, we are waiting for the appraisal! Fx! Luckily, they were able to work with us on quick turnaround, since we have to move in about a month.
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@Torchwood: I hope your appointment tomorrow goes well!@tequiero21: fx on the appraisal!

@Torchwood: Good luck!
@tequiero21: Yeah, I have to go out to the garage and check the date on it. The friend just called DH and he was like "FREE IS FOR MEEEE!" and took it. How was your vacation!?
The fatigue is hitting me again this week. I think its because last week was so busy at work. I've been sleeping like a corpse at night and am so offended when the alarm goes off in the morning. And the afternoon foot swelling has begun in earnest.
And I'm hobbling around with foot pain because I think the ligaments have started to loosen up or something.
The joys, ladies. The joys.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@torchwood: good luck!
@littlebit: your nursery post made me feel like I need to get my butt in gear. With my first pregnancy, I felt like, okay, I'll wait until my showers and then see what I need to get. This time, since I'm not having a shower, I guess I just need to get on buying things myself. Fortunately there's not much we absolutely have to get, but it would be nice if I did something for this baby (other than ordering clothes online, I'm good at that)
