@Mrs Jump rope: that would have driven me mad too! Hopefully it was worth it and the pics are fantastic!

Hi girls!
I've been so bad about keeping up here. Some of you just post too fast for me to respond, lol. But I'm committed to start participating again! Mostly because I have 5 weeks left at work and I'm kinda coasting until then
I saw on some of the other boards they started having these check-ins so I thought why not start it over here! Here are the questions, copy and paste to a new post and answer xoxo
1. How many weeks & EDD?
2. How often are you seeing your doctor?
3. How are you feeling?
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)?
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way?
nectarine / 2932 posts
@tequiero21: holy moly...I'm drooling! Hope you are enjoying yourself!
1. How many weeks & EDD? - 28 weeks tomorrow, EDD is Sept. 17th
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? - Right now every 4 weeks.
3. How are you feeling? - Ok. Getting more uncomfortable. Sick of buying maternity clothes!
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)? - Not ready. At all. The nursery is mostly done, but we have absolutely nothing for keeping the baby alive! Hopefully that'lll be remedied at the showers.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? - Looking into taking a labor class. We're touring the hospital next week, and taking the infant cpr and first aid class.

@London Mama: I think you have a few options. Can you get a double stroller that isn't side by side? And where do you plan to store the stroller? Do you have a garage?
honeydew / 7968 posts
@gingerbebe: haha didn't even notice Mickey!
@London Mama: we got the baby jogger city select. Goes front and back, not side to side. Think it's too small for a toddler though, but I have seen front to back strollers with bigger toddlers. Might be cheaper than doing the porch.

1. How many weeks & EDD? I'm 30 weeks tomorrow! But my ead (estimated arrival date) is 8/29.
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? Was seeing every 4 weeks, but now seeing every two. Got an appointment for 30 weeks on Monday.
3. How are you feeling? Ok. I still think this pregnancy is so much harder than my last.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)? Nope!
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Not really. Doing csec so just want to lock in a date already but still too early.

@brownbear: welcome back! I was worried about you, glad to know you are doing well and back!
pomelo / 5220 posts
1. How many weeks & EDD? 28w 5d
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? have my 28 week appointment tomorrow, and then will be every 2 weeks until 36 then every week.
3. How are you feeling? decent I guess. Lots of Braxton hicks which make me super nervous and uncomfortable. Having a hard time staying hydrated (any amount of water is never enough I've realized).
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)? Logistically, not even close. No nursery details have been handled, I don't even have a paint color yet. We purchased a crib and dresser but they aren't being delivered until August 2nd. We have a lot to do! Emotionally, I just want to stay pregnant until after 35 weeks. I have this new anxiety of going into labor soon and I can't shake it.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Just trying to avoid early labor at this point. We have to sign up for a few classes but we are waiting until August to take them because we don't have any free weekends until then.
nectarine / 2180 posts
1. How many weeks & EDD? umm, 28 weeks 2 days
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? I go in for my 1-hr glucose test and 28 week appt on Thursday and then I think I'll start going every 2 weeks.
3. How are you feeling? Okay...this pregnancy has been a lot harder for me physically than last time. Varicose veins, I hate you! I went to a prenatal fitness class on Sunday and it was great; I wish I had been going this whole time. It only meets once a week, but I'm going to try to go as often as I can for the remainder of this pregnancy.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)? Logistically, if she came today we would be fine...we technically have most of what we need to get started (although there would totally be an emergency run to Target or Amazon prime order for bottles, diapers, wipes, etc). There are just more things I would like to do to get the nursery ready...wish DH would be more interested in that. Also, every time I go in there to do something, L is suddenly very interested (of course) in all her old baby stuff.
Emotionally, I have also been very anxious about preterm labor this time. I think it's because my good friend was suddenly hospitalized with preeclampsia at 25 weeks and had to deliver her baby at 26 weeks. Her baby is now over a year old and thriving, and with every week that passes I breathe a little easier, but man, anxiety is not fun.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way?
I registered online at our hospital a couple of weeks ago when I was procrastinating doing something else (ha!). I saw that our hospital has a sibling class for kids ages 3-6, I think, and I'm trying to decide if I should sign L up for that. Also since this is not the hospital I delivered at last time, I'm thinking maybe we should do a tour of the L&D unit? I also think the prenatal fitness class will be a good way to get prepared. The instructor teaches breathing exercises, pelvic floor exercises, and ab exercises to prevent diastasis (sp?)...I just want my body to be a bit stronger before labor.

1. How many weeks & EDD? I am 28 weeks and 3 days. Original EDD is 9/13 but we may end up having a C-section in mid-August.
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? I'm still monthly right now.
3. How are you feeling? Crabby, tired, really achy, and my eyes are going blurry again. Energy levels are much better now that I don't have morning sickness all the time, but I get heartburn a lot more easily.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)? I feel ready emotionally for him to get here, but we haven't really done anything to get ready other than giving our family our registry list. We have the crib stuff in the living room still in boxes and we have yet to set anything up yet. I think we're just in a holding pattern until we see if my complete previa status has changed.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Not really. Again with my previa, we're looking at C-section at 36-weeks so we haven't bothered with birth plans, hospital tours, birthing classes, etc. We know where we are going to deliver (unless its an emergency) and if its a C-section why bother with classes. I guess this will change if the previa moves and we can try for a vaginal birth. I HAVE been preparing for C-section recovery and post-partum blur by doing a lot of freezer meals and batch cooking. We're starting to eat some of the meals now because I'm tired after work a lot and its been so nice. Keeps me motivated to keep cooking on the weekends.

@gingerbebe: we took a newborn care class or something and I really thought it was beneficial. I think I may look into it again just to refresh my memory.
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@tequiero21: Oh yeah, the newborn care stuff would be really helpful. I was talking more like Lamaze or Bradley.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@tequiero21: That view is awesome! Where did you end up going? (Sorry if you said and I missed it!)
I find it so interesting that this pregnancy is harder than the twin pregnancy!
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Your story about getting your hair done for the photoshoot - omg I would have also been livid! I get that she was doing a "favor" but at some point it becomes not a favor at all! Like, if you can't be focused and just do it, then don't do it at all! But I'm sure the pics will be fab
1. How many weeks & EDD? 26 Weeks, 5 Days. Due 9/26.
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? Still every 4 weeks-ish. I had an appt last Thursday at 25+6 and also had my 1 hour glucose. They said it would be a week for results, so holding my breath that I don't hear anything by tomorrow...they said no news is good news! Next appt is July 14, I'll be 29+3.
3. How are you feeling? Up until a week ago I felt awesome! Not even like I was pregnant (besides the obvious belly and movement). Since last week I've definitely been feeling a bit less comfortable...pressure in my chest, lots and lots of heartburn, and kinda crampy. Chalking it up to a growth spurt (Hopefully) Still have the same amount of energy though, which is nice. Using it to see friends and plan for baby.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)?
Logistically, not ready at all! Crib is ordered but won't be delivered till July/August. Some gifts from my registry have started to trickle in, but none of it is "survival" gear Carrier, Mamaroo, stuff like that is what we have...no diapers, bottles, etc.
I also ordered all of the decor for the nursery (just about, except for the glider)...so if this kid came tomorrow he'd have a really cool room, just won't have anything to wear or eat
Emotionally...some days I just want him to be here already and other days I get panicked about night wakings and breastfeeding and all that jazz. So, I'm cool with him staying in there as long as he can
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? Not really - I still might end up with a c-section for my hips, but I won't know until much later...they said they'd do an assessment at 35 weeks! I have a few places to contact about birthing classes, I'll probably do that either way, just in case.
I've given zero thought into any type of birth plan - delayed clamping and "newer" stuff that I just have no clue about. I think that once I have the nursery sorted out I'll start to sit down and do some research. I don't want to go in with some laminated birth plan that makes the nurses roll their eyes, but I also don't want to be clueless.
Oh and I also want to start doing some reading on what the heck to do once baby is here...like different sleep training methods and stuff like that. There was a thread about sleeping recently that scared me into it
Hope everyone is feeling good today!

Has anyone had any crazy pregnancy dreams? When I was pregnant with my first, I had a very vivid dream that my LO was born with teeth. It really freaked me out, I guess, since I still remember that. Last night I dreamed that this LO was born and she had very bushy eyebrows and terrible melasma, and my mom went over to her and peeled a sheet of skin off of her face/neck. But apparently she was healthy...it was such a weird dream!
honeydew / 7968 posts
@SweetiePie: I'm at grand cayman. Never had any desire to come here. But it just came into my radar when I was looking for places to go. And so far, really loving it here and definitely plan to come back again, and i don't say that about many places!
Yeah, i think this pregnancy is so much harder because of my twins lol. I'm constantly tired, they keep waking up at night so I get broken sleep. I'm nauseous a lot, and a few times, I throw up a lil in my mouth when I was just dry heaving or something. Gross. Even here, I'm having miserable sleep. I'm not sure if the bed just sucks or if it's just cuz I'm pregnant and can't get comfy. Food is great here tho! Mmmm.
honeydew / 7968 posts
@Pancakes: lol no crazy dreams yet. Sounds very vivid! I wonder if it means anything. I swear my mom has dreams and it signifies stuff. Like she dreamt about two fish or so when I had my twins. She knew I had twins before I told her.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@Pancakes: yes! I've dreamt a few times about breast feeding and once it was so bizarre...I was trying to breast feed my baby and every time I brought him to the breast he turned into a puppy or kitten. So I'd look down and there would be one or the other lapping at my boob. So weird!
The a few nights ago I dreamt that the baby arrived and we had nothing for him. Not even a diaper. So I went to change him and realized that we didn't have anything. And he started pooping all over the place. So I told my husband to go out to the
Store and get diapers. He told me to text him what kind but I couldn't type! So every time I tried to type "pampers swaddlers" it would autocomplete to something like "pepper swallow" and I didn't have a back button on my phone. So in the dream he kept replying what? What? And I just couldn't tell him what to get and the baby kept pooping nonstop.
I literally woke up the next morning and thought "I should start stocking up on diapers!" out of panic. But I haven't bought any yet.
honeydew / 7463 posts
@tequiero21: Ahhh that sounds amazing! We were invited to a wedding there next April when baby will be 6-7 months. We think it might be our first big vacation with a baby My parents are going to come with us and babysit a couple days/nights. I'll have to wall you for recommendations!
And now that makes sense about the pregnancy being harder. Before you had the twins in you...now you have to take care f them with ANOTHER one in you! I can't imagine.
My sister had her baby last night! It's her third...she has 2 boys already and last night had a girl. It's adorable because the oldest boy was really resistant to the idea of a baby let alone a GIRL (yuck! ;-). but now that she's here he's in awe. Wants to hold her all the time and is protective - he'll tell his younger brother to be more gentle and not to lean over her. So cute! Makes me really excited for September to get here already!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@pancakes: yes to weird dreams although I'm so tired today I can't really think of any right now! The weirdest ones always happen when I'm in that half sleep either right after I go to the bathroom in the middle of the night or right before I wake up for the day...
@sweetiepie: congrats auntie! So cute about your nephew!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Pancakes: I've had vivid dreams in general during pregnancy but none related to the baby specifically. This week I had this dream where my wedding rings all cracked and fell apart into pieces while I was walking at the mall and I was scrambling to pick up all the pieces under kiosks and display tables. DH tells me all my dreams are anxiety related.
@tequiero21: Tae-mong dreams are legit. My mom was worried she hadn't had a pregnancy dream for me, but she always "felt" like I was going to have a boy (despite DH and I swearing we were going to have a girl) so when we found out it was a boy she was quite pleased with herself.
@SweetiePie: Ahh I can't remember if I mentioned here but we had a nephew born this weekend too! BIL and SIL had their son on Saturday and he is the SPITTING image of BIL - all red hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. Its too funny. He was a tiny baby leprechaun - 6lbs, 6oz - but took 30 hours of labor! He was sunny side up and SIL pushed for hours and hours. Poor thing.
Makes me think about what its going to be like when our boy gets here. I can already tell DH is kinda wistfully looking at his brother with his own son, wishing our's was here too. DH's family all live near them and SIL's sister and parents live pretty close by too, so everyone is just swarming around them. We're having such a different experience because we're far from both sides of our families. I really like my privacy, so I think I would get overwhelmed with 10 people in the waiting room, but then again it must be nice to have all the help!
I have my 28 week ultrasound today to see if the placenta has moved - fingers crossed! And I have to take my 2nd 1-hour glucose test tomorrow. Blech. At least I get to leave at 1pm today and I'll be off tomorrow!
honeydew / 7463 posts
@gingerbebe: Ahhh congrats! You might have mentioned it but I missed it. That's so much fun that he looks just like your BIL I'm just dying to know who our boy will look like!
I'm with you on the family thing. My sis having her baby this week made me realize that everyone is there to gather around and help and visit. But we're here all alone except for my IL's which...I'm not too thrilled about! It would be nice to have my family here - except for my parents, I don't think anyone will meet our son for a few months, when I'm comfortable flying with him.
But, at the same time, I'm also private and need space and have had anxiety about people coming to the hospital (i.e. my IL's and their friends)...so maybe its a good thing in the end
nectarine / 2932 posts
@gingerbebe: good luck at your ultrasound!!
Officially in my 3rd trimester! Had my 28 week appointment today. Did the glucose test, an ultrasound, and got the TDAP. I should find out if I passed the test Monday or Tuesday. The drink wasn't so bad!
Our ultrasound went awesome! My placenta previa is gone so no more restrictions/worrying! So happy. They also switched over to 4D a couple times so we got some cute pictures I can't wait to meet him! He's already measuring close to 3 lbs.
With my restrictions I was worried I was going to gain a ton this month, but I only gained 2.5 lbs! So I'm pretty happy with that. The previous month I gained 8 lbs in 4 weeks, so I was nervous. Total weight gain so far has been 21 lbs.
So all in all, a really good (but long) appointment. Now my appointments will be every two weeks. I can't believe how close we're getting!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Littlebit: OMG congrats on the previa! I have a complete previa, so my doctor warned me the chances of it moving completely out of the way are slim, but I'm still holding out hope. I almost think having a marginal previa would be worse because I'd still have to worry about bleeds but carry the baby til 39 weeks and get the C-section anyway!
nectarine / 2932 posts
@gingerbebe: Thank you! I'm thrilled! Mine was partial/marginal. I'm hoping yours has moved a TON. When was the last time you had a scan to check? At your anatomy scan?
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Littlebit: Yeah they diagnosed me at 20 weeks and my doctor said there was no point in speculating until 28 weeks at the earliest. So I've been on pelvic rest, no lifting over 5lbs., ordered to take it easy, etc. No bleeds at all, so hoping its a good sign!
nectarine / 2932 posts
@gingerbebe: Mine was marginal and when they checked today they said it had moved completely out of the way and with 3cm to spare...so it's definitely possible to have lots of movement in just 8 weeks! I'm crossing my fingers for you!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Littlebit: no results yet. Had ultrasound yesterday but tech wouldn't say anything. It looked like it's moved but the question is how much! Baby is on track at 2lbs10oz. On way to regular appt with NP. Maybe she will have results. Did 1 hr glucose this morning too- no results either! Boo. Ate ALLL the carbs afterwards.
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Littlebit: OMGIZZLE THE PLACENTA IS 6.1CM FROM THE CERVIX!! Nurse says it's so odd they may have me rescanned and have my medical records examined!!
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@gingerbebe: wait, is that good or bad? Did it move? I'm so confused!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
@Mrs. Jump Rope: Yes the placenta was totally covering the cervix before and now it's 6.1cm away from the cervix. I needed 3cm for vaginal delivery. NP was totally confused she was like that is REALLY unusual I may have your doctor go back over your file and personally look at the ultrasound footage in case the radiologist screwed up. DH is like OMG CAN WE GO ON VACATION.
nectarine / 2932 posts
@gingerbebe: oh my gosh!!!! That's awesome!!! Congratulations! So happy for you guys!
blogger / coconut / 8306 posts
@gingerbebe: well, it could be legit! Did your OB look at the ultrasounds before?
I had marginal previa and was told it was common before 20 weeks, and they wouldn't worry until I was 27+. Mine moved completely (it's at the top of my uterus) from 13 (when diagnosed) to 18 weeks (my anatomy scan).
I REALLY hope yours moved! Then you can go on vacation

1. How many weeks & EDD? 27w3d, EDD 9/23
2. How often are you seeing your doctor? I've been going every 4 weeks, today I had the glucose tolerance test and my next appointment is in 3 weeks.
3. How are you feeling? Mostly feeling good. Wednesday she was kicking all day, which was the first time I've felt her move around that much. Currently kicking in my pelvis, though Wednesday she was kicking higher (still below the belly button). I have mild pelvic pain and tightness if I sit in one position too long, and my heels start hurting a lot if I'm walking or standing too long. And of course back pain, but I've gotten used to that. Getting prenatal massages every few weeks and hope to get them weekly by the time I get to the last month or so. Otherwise not too bad physically.
4. How ready are you for LO's arrival (logistically, emotionally, etc)? I go back and forth. We have finally started making significant progress on cleaning and rearranging the apartment in an effort to turn the living room into a nursery - I think it finally started to sink in for my husband once I had my baby shower at work on June 6 and brought home a bunch of baby stuff, so he's doing a lot more work while I'm on the job all day. Then I do some when I'm home and night and he's still at work (late shift), and on days off, and then I bring him in and point out what I need him to do for me (heavy lifting and moving). A month ago I was panicked that we wouldn't have a nursery by the time she's born, but now I know we'll get it done. My "real" baby shower (family and friends) will be July 20, so the goal is to have the apartment ready by then to move in the crib and dresser, which my parents bought for us but we don't have room for yet, and all the other gifts we'll be receiving.
5. Have you started thinking about labor or preparing in any way? It would be great for us to take a child/infant CPR class, it would be great to tour our hospital's L&D, it would be great to take a childbirth class... but no, I haven't started planning any of that stuff. Priority at the moment is cleaning the apartment.
We finally got word that our bankruptcy case is almost over, our debt is going to be discharged but will take 2-4 months to be finalized or whatever. After my husband had major health issues for almost 4 years (mainly back pain that it took a zillion doctors til one finally solved the problem), and then now he's okay but still not back at work full-time, it's a relief that we're not going to have this $221,000+ debt hanging over our heads anymore. Low credit scores and whatever else comes with bankruptcy I can handle, we're young enough to bounce back. I'm just so glad this part of our lives is almost over and we can focus on becoming parents.

@gingerbebe: omg omg congrats!!! That would mean no early delivery n most likely no csec unless u wanted it?! Miracles do happen!
@butterflyprism: so glad u have that weight off your shoulders!

@Mrs. Jump Rope: I have no idea what he did or didn't do before. The NP and my OBGYN alternate appointments and so she was like this is so highly unusual I'm going to have the doctor look into this. The doctor is on vacation now, so we'll see what happens but DH is looking at Hawaii packages as we speak!
@tequiero21: Yes, they are saying its basically a regular ole pregnancy now! I don't even have to start appointments every 2 weeks until 36 weeks!
cantaloupe / 6131 posts
Ugh failed my 1-hour glucose test. Now I have to take the 3 hour AGAIN. So bummed. I got a 157, so it wasn't even close either, so now I'm assuming I have GD. Put me in a bad mood after I found out yesterday.
Also had to get my TDAP vaccine and I've been having a really bad reaction to it. Been like a narcoleptic all weekend, sleeping non-stop, getting hot and cold flashes, and generally feeling really mopey and sad (probably why I didn't take the glucose test results very well). Arm is all puffy, itchy, and sore too. Ugh.
