I feel like my lo is soooo insatiable! Was easier w my twins because I was 100% ok w formula supplementation. W this kid, my husband wants me to bf all the time except at night. Ugh. So annoying. Other than that, post-surgery, I feel fine. Not taking any more meds. Prune juice saved me too.

Still at the hospital 4 days later. Baby baby was admitted to ICU for jaundice. I have to go down there every two hours to try feeding him but milk isn't in yet. We are able to do some colostrum with supplementation as a top off. He was SO yellow by the time we admitted him poor guy. I'm technically able to be discharged tomorrow but since I have to be here I may need to ask to extend my stay for another day or so. (I guess you have a right to 5 days in hospital for a csection here). After that they have rooms for NICU parents but they aren't as well equipped, granted it would only be for another day or so.
Cannot wait to get him home and be normal sleep deprived parents!!!

@gingerbebe: Oh, that's so wonderful if you don't have to go home yet! For me, that was the worst feeling ever, leaving the hospital without my baby. Hope you can all go home together, soon!

@Pancakes: my kids love the baby and want to give him tons of hugs and kisses, but I feel bad we've been mostly holed up in the nursery.

@Pancakes: Thought I might as well bump. LO1 loooves LO2 so much. Though I'll admit it's overwhelming at times trying to get him to give baby (and even me) space.

Hi all! I have taken an unintentional hiatus from HB - been busy! I'm not really a September mama but I figure I can join you all the same despite my early bird August baby right? Hope you are all doing great!!
honeydew / 7968 posts
@psw27: lol Technically, I'm not sept either.
@Boogs: gotcha. Well, let's ressurrect this thread then!
My son is 1.5 months and I think he smiled at me for the first time on purpose. He doesn't seem excited to see me he just like expects me to be there or something. If he's like my daughter, he won't be that affectionate. But one hilarious thing, I wore my glasses cuz I came home from driving and didn't take it off. It's pretty thick framed and black. Well, I guess he wasn't really paying attention. My mil was holding him and she gave him to me. So I fed him, changed his diaper. And then he looked at me, and I could see his face changing. From like what the hell, to crying to literally screaming lol. Like almost high pitched girl scream lol. I think he thought he was feeding from me, saw another person and then freaked out. But then I talked to him and lifted up my glasses and he calmed down. Lol.

@psw27: You're still an honorary September mama!
@tequiero21: Haha how funny! My LO is 5 weeks, so I hope the on purpose smiles are soon, they are the best. And that's so funny about your glasses lol!

Hi! My boy is 6 weeks tomorrow and is just about to grow out of his newborn clothes which is exciting because we had weight gain issues. He's going through his 6 week growth spurt so he's being fussier and needier and pukier than normal. Lots of laundry happening.
nectarine / 2180 posts
@gingerbebe: ugh, C has been pukey since day 1. It seems like she gets overfull and then it just all erupts. I can't keep up with the laundry!
Do your LOs like a pacifier? I can usually get C to take one as apart of her bedtime routine or if she is really upset. It is nice to have another soothing tool but since DD1 never took one it is uncharted territory (as in, keeping it from becoming a bad habit or something--I know we are still a long way from that point though).

Anyone else up? It's 4am and we are up! Charlotte is starting to be like clock work and is always up at four to eat.
@Pancakes: we tried a pacifier but it's hit or miss. I figure it's one less thing to wean her off of. Chloe never took one either.
pomelo / 5220 posts
@tequiero21: that is so funny! I wear glasses sometimes too, I wonder if LO even notices?
pomelo / 5220 posts
@Pancakes: LO likes pacifiers when he's tired during the day and needs to calm down for a nap. He doesn't seem to want it at night though.
honeydew / 7968 posts
@Pancakes: he hates the pacifier. Which sux cuz he obviously likes to suck himself to sleep. He insists on nipple. My nipple.
Ugh, my son hasn't slep more than an hour and half straight last night. What a headache. Very annoying. Sigh.

The transition from 0-1 and 1-2 is amazing.
With Chloe, I didn't shower for days at a time. I'd be stuck in my pajamas all day, complaining that I couldn't set the baby down or get anything done. It felt like months - she was maybe six months old - before we felt like we got into a routine. I couldn't make dinner because I didn't have time. I couldn't take her to the store with me because it was too hard. There was so much newness and worry and ifs.
Now, and I've really surprised myself, I'm so relaxed and easy going. I've showered more in the last 6 weeks than I did in six months with Chloe lol. I cook dinner more. I take both kids out without batting an eye.
Charlotte molded into our routine, whereas I felt like I needed to mold into Chloe's.

Well hello there September mamas! It's been a long time since I checked in, I hope you and your babies are all doing well.
I had a little girl at the end of September through emergency c-section, she's lovely and doing really well. Life with two kids is both crazy and wonderful, we've got in the swing of things now.
Hope you all enjoyed the holidays and wishing you a happy 2015!

@London Mama: hi! So glad to hear that you guys are doing well I still can't imagine two kids! I think I'm one and done after this experience!
How is everyone else doing? I've been relatively quiet on HB since my little guy was born. But I just got kinda nostalgic for our Sept 2014 board!
How is everyone adjusting? How are your babies sleeping? Anyone sleeping a blissful 12 hours yet? We got so close and then I guess the 4 month regression kicked in and we got derailed. Getting back on track slowly though.
Hope everyone is doing well

@SweetiePie: we are pretty active on FB! We'd love for you to join us!
Glad to see you over here, though. I can't complain about charlottes sleep. She's my sleeper, though my 3yo is my night owl & no-napper! I got 11.5 hours out of Charlotte last night which is our longest stretch to date. She's usually a solid 7-8 hour kind of kid. I probably just jinxed myself!

@SweetiePie: Hello! My LO has been grumpy lately and hasn't been taking the best naps. I'm thinking teething is the problem. Luckily, night sleep has been pretty good with 7ish hour stretches, so I'm happy with that for now! Life with two is, different, that's for sure lol!

I didn't realize there was a postpartum group. I didn't find HB until after LO was born this Sept and would love to join!

My baby girl is doing great, she's getting so big that today I dressed her in 6-month sized clothing and it's not even really big on her. She was born with red hair and a lot of people have said it won't last, but I have a lot of redhead cousins (Irish on my mom's side) and so far it hasn't changed at all. Love it.
