@Bibliolove: DH is really struggling with the thought of paying someone thousands of dollars to move all our stuff. He wants to rent a storage area and start hauling stuff up there. And I just keep telling him that he can't possibly move an entire house by himself. I can sit on the floor and put things in boxes, but I certainly can't help him move furniture!

@StrawberryBee: oh man! Sounds stressful! I'm not sure where you live, but it only cost us a few hundred to hire movers. It was the best decision we could have made! You should shop around!

@Boopers: I'm outside Philly. Next step will be to get moving quotes :). I have two recommended companies to call. Plan is to move out the day before settlement, since the walkthroughs are that morning. So they'll have to store everything at least overnight, which I'm sure adds to the cost.

@Boopers: I'm still feeling pretty sick every day. I've only thrown up once but at least a few times a day I have to stop and do deep breathing to keep from throwing up when waves of nausea overtake the constant mild nausea. I'm still resisting upping my diclegis dosage because I'm so freaking tired all the time already I can't handle being more tired.
My current concern is that I'm traveling for business this week and just.... ugh. It is the first time I'll ever be away from my almost 3 year old and I'm really feeling guilty going. Plus I'm just worried about how I'm going to feel on this trip. It means getting up really early Wed and flying to NYC then going straight to our NYC office and working long hours wed-fri and flying home Fri night. Plus I'm going to be working in a conference room with 5 other people. I'm worried I'm going to be too tired from the pace of things and travel. I'm worried about finding the right types of food and having it available at all times to keep the nausea at bay when I'm so busy working. I'm worried I'm going to throw up in front of them. I just want this week to be o-v-e-r and for this trip to be behind me!

@Boopers: meds have helped my nausea a lot, but I'm still sick most days. I can't cook or go in our kitchen area still. I have my NT scan on thurs which I'm hoping everything will be ok for.
Our Reno is getting closer to being done. We have our bathroom 90% finished upstairs and the kitchen cabinets are going in today! Will still be a few weeks until we get a functional kitchen but I'm hoping by then I will be able to at least be in it without puking.

@StrawberryBee: good luck with the packing and moving. Maybe your DH can enlist some friends?
nectarine / 2317 posts
@Mae: that doesn't sound ideal, but you never know. I often find I can survive in situations like that better than at home. Pack snacks with you and just don't be ashamed to eat often!

@Mae: Hope this week flies by for you!
Being a FTM, I've been having fun looking online to see what we might put on a registry. Holy cow do they overprice items marketed towards "baby." I was looking at diaper backpacks and ones I liked were around $80-$100 at Target. Then I looked at just regular women's backpacks and similar quality/style were more than half that price. So silly!! I feel like we are getting take for a ride
kiwi / 526 posts
@annem1990: lol, that is what I remember about wedding stuff too. Anything marketed as bridal had a higher price tag.
nectarine / 2317 posts
@annem1990: get as much as you can second hand! We bought our stroller new and car seat, could easily save money by second hand crib etc especially toys and swings etc cause they really only use them for a few months. Take all the hand me downs you can get especially if people are done having kids! Then you can get rid of it when you're done.
nectarine / 2530 posts
@Mae: I second bringing lots of snacks you know you can stomach, and eating them often. I hope it goes by quickly! I was about to schedule a work FL trip until I remembered about Zika. Luckily work already knows and is flexible enough to just send someone else.
@Banana330: How exciting, I hope the end result is everything you hoped it would be! As terrible as this sounds, DH has no friends. He has two brothers 'only' an hour away, but one hurt his shoulder and the other is less likely to help.
@annem1990: It's like things marked "pet" are suddenly twice as expensive. Anytime something is specialized. We started packing up the baby stuff this weekend and I was amazed at how much stuff we had for one kid. So many things that were "necessary" but now aren't

So ladies.. I've had this pain in my ankle for the last 6 months or so... I finally got in to a sports doc today and it turns out I have a stress fracture in my foot and i've been put on non weight bearing rest for the next two weeks. I've just emailed my boss to see if I can work from home... and called my mom to see if she can do daycare drop off cause I can't imagine toddler drop off with a stroller and crutches.
apricot / 477 posts
@Banana330: that's insane! I cannot imagine carrying for a toddler while on crutches. I struggled to care for myself when I had injured my leg.
My next appointment is march 3rd for my NT scan and March 6th for my OB appointment. I also will be expecting my NIPT results any time before march 3rd.

I have my first appt this morning at 10! I am super anxious for this one even though it's my third. Have been feeling pretty normal just ready for the extreme exhaustion to go away!

@matador84: good luck today!
@Banana330: oh no, what a pain (literally). I guess they couldn't give you a boot?
nectarine / 2317 posts
@StrawberryBee: I got a boot, but they said still stay off it. My boss has been good and is letting me work from home for the next two weeks. But it's a major pain!
@YouGotMe: My poor DH he was already doing so much now he has to do everything! It was pretty crazy this morning trying to get her to walk down the stairs. I ended up having to carry her while hobbling down.

Appointment went well! 161 was the heart rate and all looks well thus far! Due date he gave me was 10/2 based on measurements but he kind of laughed and said based on my past history doesn't think I will make it that far.
nectarine / 2317 posts
@matador84: congrats! That's great news. Do you want me to put you down as 10/2?

Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Excited with some nervousness hanging around. We had our first appointment and us last week and everything was looking good with a nice strong heartbeat!!
I had a mc back in the fall so it's hard to shake that fear. Trying to focus on the positives and am very much looking forward to our next appointment in a few weeks!!

Had my NT scan this morning. She managed to do it abdominally so I didn't have to take off my boot. Baby looked good and was super wiggly! NT fold measurements looked good so far and heartbeat was 160! We didn't get a good picture cause of the wiggling but we saw it flailing it's arms and legs around. Babe was measuring one day ahead so I wonder if my mid wife will go by that date.

@Banana330: great news!!
I also had an appt today (my first) and all is well!! Baby wiggled it's nubby arms at us. He/she looks like a cute little gummy bear. Heartbeat is strong at 170 around. I am so excited!!! They also moved my due date up to 9/24, so I am a little further along than what I thought.

I have an appt tomorrow (my NT scan is 3/11)..really nervous. We haven't heard a heartbeat yet.
My morning sickness just kind of disappeared which makes me feel a little uneasy.
@Bibliolove: @Banana330: yay for great appts! So exciting.

Any symptoms? Tired. Morning sickness.
Who have you told? Just the grandparents.
Current thoughts/feelings/fears? Got diagnosed with gestational diabetes at 10 weeks. I didn't have it with my other pregnancies. I'm a little overwhelmed with all the effort it is going to take to keep it under control for the rest of the pregnancy.

I gave in and bought a few pairs of maternity pants today. I've been doing a belly band for the past few weeks, but I was just not comfortable. Wow did the maternity pants feel great! I was dreading getting dressed every morning because it meant 10+ hours of feeling like I was in a sausage casing So happy to be able to be comfy and feel put-together now. I hope everyone else is feeling comfortable!
