@StrawberryBee: the brown discharge is still there and I had a couple brown clots over the weekend but I feel like this is my new normal so not too alarmed. No cramping and no bright red blood since the one episode so I'm hoping all of that just stays at bay and hopefully this is just a "first trimester thing." Wish I could have another u/s to see if the heartbeat is getting faster because the NP said it was "slow but it will get a lot faster" and didn't seem alarmed to measure it. Next appt isn't until March 13th. I am staying optimistic that hopefully all will be fine. Thank you for thinking of me!

@banana330: it's more like a constant old brown discharge. Hoping it is just a first trimester thing!! My next appointments are march 13 and 20th (nt scan). Praying for healthy appointments! How are you feeling? How is the nausea?

@lulu22: ugh, that sounds so stressful! Good to check if there's even a chance of meningitis, but so glad to hear it wasn't. Can you guys take a short weekend vacation somewhere nearby once everyone feels better to recharge a bit?

@Banana330: hopefully you'll feel tons better in the second tri and this will all be a distant memory. DH has been doing more than his fair share around here, too. And my toddler is just constantly clinging to me...I feel so bad when I tell her I can't pick her up, and even worse when she cries and tells DH that she doesn't want him to do it!

Have you tried diclegis? It can really help with the nausea.

@Bibliolove: I hope you're able to relax and get your mind off of things

@Mrs. K: no cramping sounds like a good sign!

@Mrs. K: still going strong. I'll have one maybe two ok days a week the rest are multiple pukes, but small ones. Sounds promising. Hopefully it stops altogether for you soon!

@StrawberryBee: ya luckily DD is going through a massive daddy phase ya I have some, I took it last time but I was hoping it would be ending soon and I didn't want to start then wean off... I'm almost 11 weeks!

@Banana330: I forgot you were so far ahead of me! Hopefully the end of the nausea is in sight

  8. Mrs. K

    apricot / 308 posts

@Banana330: I second @strawberrybee! I had a few days of nausea here and there but mild compared to what you're experiencing. I felt pretty crappy so I am so sorry you are going through that. You're almost at 12 weeks! Hopefully the nausea will be over soon! Woohoo!!

@StrawberryBee: yes, thank you! I'm definitely counting my blessings and praying little bean is growing happily how are you feeling these days?

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@Mrs. K: nauseous at times but not TOO bad as long as I remember to eat constantly; I tried taking my Diclegis but it totally wipes me out. I feel like I'm drugged on a sleeping pill all day. Thanks for asking!

@Mrs. K: ya pregnancy does not treat me well! I hated most of my last pregnancy and was kinda hoping this one would be better. I do hope I can feel movements more this time. Last time I had an anterior placenta and rarely felt movements except for hiccups.

I ended up taking a diclectin last, cause I was feeling so bad. I had the best sleep since getting pregnant! I might take one a day for a while and see if it helps.

I took today off to prime and paint our bathroom! It looks like the fixtures will get installed on sat! Maybe we'll have a working upstairs bathroom soon. And it looks like our kitchen cabinets will get installed next week too. So excited for the Reno to be completed but there's clearly a few more weeks left.

Had my first doctors appointment today. Official due date is 10/2 but I'll be having a c-section so good chance of being a September mama. Measuring 10mm crl and 153 heart rate.

@Banana330: hope the reno is complete soon, sounds really exhausting especially on top of not feeling well. Glad the meds helped you sleep though! Getting rest right now is invaluable.

@sugarbee: happy your appt went well! Great news

@StrawberryBee: I'm in the same boat, just trying to constantly eat. It doesn't help that I can't stand all the normal healthy stuff I usually eat! I feel gross eating so much and being on "pelvic rest" not used to being so sedentary hoping I can be more active during second trimester.

nausea has been super bad for me lately. different with this pregnancy is that it's more of an afternoon/nighttime nausea than morning. Which is a killer for me because usually it hits when I'm almost done with work/picking up kids/fixing dinner, etc.

My first appointment is in 1 week!

@lulu22: Gosh that sounds hard! Where is your family that they are 24 hours flight away?! The only thing that I can figure is.... the only way out is through. lol. Like the first year might just be a shitshow. Literal and otherwise. But we will survive. And some day I'll be sitting at the dinner table looking at my 5 and 8 year olds. Or my 15 and 18 year olds. And I'll be so glad we dove into this craziness. But in the meantime... yea... I'm a little scared to go through the hard part.

It sounds like a lot of us are pretty sick at the moment. Sucks eh? What's everyone trying? I tried a unisom cocktail first. (1 unisom + 25mg b6 + 20mg pepcid before bed and just a b6 + Pepcid in the morning). I found I was still pretty sick in the mornings still but felt better in the afternoons/evening. Then my doctor prescribed diclegis which seems to do well in the mornings but wears off a bit by mid-afternoon. He said I can up the dosage but it already makes me so exhausted I don't know it'd be worth it to feel better but be asleep on my desk. lol. I legit was nodding off today working. Had to do a lap around my floor and chew some gum to wake myself up.

@Mae: I am only taking diclectin (Canadian name for diclegis) I take 2 pills at night and 1 pill in the morning. I find it works way better that way and it's how my doctor prescribes it.

Otherwise I eat a ton of small snacks throughout the day.

@Mae: I have to be constantly eating to stave off nausea. It's this weird 24/7 sensation of being starving and nauseous at the same time. I've definitely never felt this before! But the only thing I can seem to stomach is carbs and fat (yummy at least!). All of the healthy things I normally eat sound revolting. DH is away for business for 2 weeks so I predict lots of take-out in my future

Popsicles are also really helping. My mouth seems to taste weird all the time. The flavor and coolness of popsicles temporarily helps that problem.

    papaya / 10343 posts

@YouGotMe: that is what my doc recommended at my last appointment (i'm only taking 2 at night). but i've been so tired I'm worried that it will make me totally useless

  20. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@annem1990: YES. exactly that. hungry/nauseous constantly. and nothing sounds good really... but some things definitely sound bad (anything except carbs and chicken). And yea I'm having the weird taste thing too. I'm chewing a lot of gum.

@Mrs. K: Although I am not on pelvic rest, I feel the same way about eating and being active. I've just accepted the fact that apparently all my body wants is boxed mac 'n cheese right now Hopefully we will feel more like ourselves in the 2nd trimester and can resume old habits.

@Mae: I think I'm lucky in the sense that my job is the perfect mix of running around and sitting down that I am able to keep myself awake.

My first pregnancy I was working overnights. That was awful.

@Banana330: I hope your reno is finished quickly! I'm sure the results will be worth it. I hate painting with a passion 😅

@sugarbee: congrats on a great appointment

@Mrs. K: I want bagels and Chinese takeout but also fruit and salad, so I guess that's not too bad. I pop raspberries in the morning first thing, and have a whole bag of halos/clementines at my desk. I never drink enough though.

@Mae: diclegis does the same to me. I was awake from 12:30am to 4am yesterday before taking one, and was a zombie the rest of the day.

  24. Mrs. K

    apricot / 308 posts

@StrawberryBee: @annem1990: so glad I'm not the only one! I picked up some premade salads and fruit from the store last night for my lunches at work. They aren't the healthiest salads but I figure they're greens and any appetizing veggies I can get in at this point is a win!

So I know it's super early but I've been debating getting a pair of maternity pants for work because I end up so bloated that it's uncomfortable to even use a hair tie to keep my jeans up part of me wants to wait to get a pair but I figure if things don't work out this time around that eventually I'll be pregnant again and I'll get use out of them! I have also been wondering if I'm just getting too fat for my own clothes because I'm eating so much or if it is pregnancy bloat? Lol

  25. Mae

    papaya / 10343 posts

@Mrs. K: I TOTALLY want to get some maternity pants. It's not even that I'm really getting bigger so much as my work pants have no give and when I'm feeling sick I just really want comfy pants with no buttons lol. And fuck it, who is going to know right??? (That's what I tell myself bc I'm probably going to buy some in the next week or two.... hah)

  26. matador84

@Mae: I've been wearing maternity pants for at least 2 weeks! I was doing the rubber band but the zipper was digging!

  27. Mrs. K

    apricot / 308 posts

@Mae: @matador84: Ok that makes me feel better that I'm not alone! I normally wear my pants very fitted and I've noticed that every time I try to wear them I get crampy around my uterus. DH is visiting family out of town and is bringing back my SIL's maternity wear.. hoping there are some nice comfy pants in there! Either way, buying a pair of maternity jeans now that I've always wanted to get once pregnant

@strawberrybee: sounds like you have a good balance! I too have a hard time with consuming enough fluids. I have to be careful to not drink too much when my stomach is full otherwise I end up with heartburn

  28. Banana330

    nectarine / 2317 posts

@Mrs. K: @matador84: @Mae: I love maternity pants! I seriously went and bought the gap jeans that had elastic waists (non-maternity) post partum last time and they are all i wear! I'm kinda looking forward to wearing some maternity clothes and having a bump vs this too many burritos and beers look i'm rocking right now. I'm actually wearing a maternity shirt under a normal sweater today but it looks slightly ridiculous cause theres no bump to fill it out.

I'm 11 weeks today.. 6 days until my NT scan. I really want to see that heartbeat again. I've been taking the meds regularly now and i'm feeling much more human when i do. I'm not sure why I resisted so much!

I had an U/S yesterday and learned this morning that I lost the baby. On the previous U/S a week ago, I had two gestational sacs and one was empty. The other had a heartbeat. Now it doesn't.

Coming off of my October miscarriage, this is all a bit much. I'm not even sure I want to try again.

In any case, you ladies on the board have been lovely and I wish you all healthy pregnancies! Thanks for your support.

How is everyone doing? I haven't vomited once but I've had nausea pretty consistently. I was sick almost every day with my son until 17 weeks, so this is a bit different for me!

I just hit 9 weeks and I finally feel like time is starting to pick up a bit as I get closer to the 2nd trimester. I have my next appointment in 2 weeks and I'm hoping everything with baby is ok.

Anyone have any ideas or gut instincts on what they're having? I think I'm having another boy.

  39. StrawberryBee

    nectarine / 2530 posts

@Boopers: I've had an upset stomach for I think the past week. Feeling weirdly normal today (I have been taking one diclegis each night), so now I'm freaking out that something is wrong. I even fit into my regular pants today. March 7th (next ultrasound!) can't come soon enough.

Oh, except we accepted an offer on our house but closing has to be March 31st, so now I have to schedule a billion inspections for my #@$#!@# township's U&O requirements, pack up an entire house, and find somewhere to live so we aren't homeless in a month. We put in an offer on a house on Saturday and I'm still waiting to hear back because the seller's agent wants to be extremely thorough and vet out all the mortgage companies, and of course with today being a holiday in the US the banks are closed. They had an open house on Sunday and I'm scared they'll get more offers.

So I could be in really good shape in about two month's time, or still utterly stressed out ;).

  40. Bibliolove

    kiwi / 526 posts

@Boopers: I felt totally non-pregnant on Friday and Saturday, then nausea came back Sunday and I was up at 4am today.

I am feeling boy, I don't know why. Maybe because my husband's family leans heavily boy, and I am mainly craving meat and salt. I don't really have a preference either way.

I broke down and bought maternity work pants and jeans on Saturday! They are great! I figure I will need them either now or later, so I am trying to let my superstitions go.
