    Hello all--

    21 weeks yesterday.

Had my 20 week anatomy scan last Friday and baby looks good. I did learn that I have a placental abnormality which should be okay (they told me that they didn't even check for these things 5-10 years ago) but that would warrant extra monitoring so I have another hospital ultrasound scheduled for 24 weeks.

Feeling pretty good and past the nausea mostly. Work has been crazy (but should slow down in June) and so I'm feeling extra tired. But good.

I went to a friend's baby shower on Sunday and there were 3 other pregnant mamas there--all due in August--I felt bigger than all of them--but I'm short and this is my 3rd (whereas they were all tall and on their first) so I guess that's to be expected.

I hope everyone else is feeling okay.

p.s. I posted a separate thread discussing minivans yesterday. I know we've got some mamas to be of three in this group so I'm interested to know what everyone's driving or thinking of driving.

@SouthernGothamCityMama: Congrats on the great scan! What a relief and hopefully the placenta issue ends up being nothing to worry about. Will be kinda nice to see baby again in a few weeks!

Glad you're feeling good mostly. You're in the home stretch

We are thinking about the VW atlas to accommodate our soon-to-be three kids. No firm decisions made yet though...

  3. SouthernGothamCityMama

    coffee bean / 39 posts

@Autumnmama79: the vw atlas is nice! I'm leaning towards the honda odyssey--even without the AWD--after a lot of people said that they're fine 99% of the time without it. Just a smidge nervous for no AWD with the odyssey and also a smidge nervous we would regret not having enough space with any midsize SUV. Let me know what you end up going with when you eventually pull the trigger.

Finally feeling a few movements over here! 18+ weeks. Felt them WAY earlier with DD and DS, like 13/16 weeks. It's probably my fav part of pregnancy

    Everyone else feeling them too?

  5. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@Autumnmama79: Yay for movement! This little one is a mover and shaker. I'm 22+3 and I've been seeing and feeling movement from the outside for about 2 weeks. She's currently breech and I can feel her little kicks basically in my butt.

I had a repeat scan yesterday (I get one every 4 weeks with MFM since I'm high risk) and everything looked good! She's breech but it's still early. Measuring exactly 1 lb/37th percentile. I'm having major insomnia/trouble sleeping because I can't get comfortable lately, and some pretty bad pubic symphisis pain, but I'm just relieved everything looks good!

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@SouthernGothamCityMama: Glad you're feeling mostly good and that the anatomy scan went well, aside from the placental abnormality. Which hopefully is no big deal!

  7. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@IRunForFun: Ooh outside movement, even better! Glad to hear things are continuing to progress well for your little baby. Do you have a snoogle (pregnancy pillow) to help with the sleeping discomfort? Mine has been a lifesaver lately.

  8. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@Autumnmama79: I do actually, someone gave me a Snoogle, but I can't seem to figure out how to use it comfortably? I can't seem to get things lined up so my head, neck, back and belly are all
comfortable at the same time. I think I'm too short for the full size one. I've got a regular body pillow and a Boppy wedge I've been using for my back, and a memory foam pillow for under my belly. It's like a nest!

  9. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@IRunForFun: I form the snoogle into the C shape and use it that way. Either with the curved middle C part behind my back and then the top as my pillow and bottom end between my knees (great back and belly support!) or I flip the other way and use it more like a body pillow, hugging it while using the top as my pillow and bottom between my knees.

How’s everyone doing? I’m 22 w and had a follow up ultrasound today. Waiting for my one hour blood draw for GD.

  11. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@youboots: remind me what they were looking for at the follow up scan? I'm doing well pregnancy wise. Very tired as DS is not sleeping well. Anatomy scan next Monday! Did you take your fam? How many ppl did they let in the room?

  12. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@youboots: Did you have GD last time? Is 22 weeks early for that? Hope you pass!

@Autumnmama79: I'm so tired too. My DD is on a nap strike and I'd been napping when she did. I hope she isn't done with naps forever.

23 weeks and 3 days here. Chugging along. Been having a lot of pubic bone pain so I need to make a chiro appt. I have another scan on the 29th with MFM and then June 12th my glucose test.

  13. youboots

    honeydew / 7622 posts

@Autumnmama79: they were not able to get the spine and heart chamber view last time. Last time it was DH and me-he did not come since it was just a routine follow up.

@IRunForFun: I got vertigo and an adjustment helped. I had GD last time so I had to test early.

@Autumnmama79: good luck on your anatomy scan!

@IRunForFun: I had a ton of pubic bone pain a few weeks ago but it resolved on its own - I think baby must have shifted. I hope you get some relief soon!

I am doing well! 23w3d now - feeling and seeing kicks from the outside for a couple weeks now! We had an offer accepted on a new house (we needed another bedroom and a kid friendly yard) so that has been our recent excitement. We close in 6 weeks then have some renos to do before baby comes. It's going to be a busy summer!

  15. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@IRunForFun: how’s the public bone pain? Is it from the baby lying super low or general pressure?

@youboots: same thing happened today at anatomy scan baby was in some weird position and she couldn’t get pic of the four chambers but she persevered and finally got it.

@bananasareyellow: Congrats on the house that’s so awesome!! What a fun and exciting summer you have coming up. I wish we had a new house to do renos on.

Anatomy scan today went well. It was very long, an hour and a half! Baby was in some weird position and it took a very long time for her to get the pics she needed. Dd and DS came too so that was cute. Feels like the last big hurdle and now I can relax a bit more for the remainder of the pg.

  16. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@Autumnmama79: The pubic bone pain is worse. I'm thinking it may be pubic symphisis dysfunction based on what I've read. I made a chiropractic appointment for next week and I might make a physical therapy appointment as well.

Glad you had a good anatomy scan!

@bananasareyellow: Oh my goodness moving right now! That's ambitious, but glad you'll have a better space for your growing family.

I'll be 25 weeks on Monday, and it's crazy to think of having just 15 weeks (or less) left. So much to do, so little time!

  17. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@IRunForFun: happy 25 weeks! That sounds like a big number. Time is going so quickly for this pg.

    Anyone thinking about names yet?

  18. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@Autumnmama79: Oooof we have had many many many many name conversations. It seems we can't agree on just one. Top contenders at the moment include Helena (nn Lena) and Amelia (nn Mia.) But neither of us are 100% enthusiastic about either of them.

  19. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@IRunForFun: Amelia is on my list too! Nn Millie. It was my paternal grandma’s name and I’d love to use it. But team green so who knows.

Hi mamas, how’s everyone doing? Hopefully no news is good news. I ordered two maternity dresses online and they arrived today. I look like an actual whale in them. So glad this is my last pregnancy EVER.

  21. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@Autumnmama79: Haha! I'm sure you do not look like a whale. How are you feeling otherwise??

Doing OK here. I'll be 27 weeks on Monday, and we are leaving tomorrow for a week's vacation at the (probably cold this time of year) beach. I'm feeling really big and uncomfortable so I'm glad we are going now and not when I'm even further along.

I'm still having a lot of pubic pain so I'm doing weekly chiro appointments and also have started swimming laps and doing aqua aerobics classes.

Had a scan at MFM Wednesday, she's head down and measuring in the 40th percentile. When we get back from our trip I have a regular midwife appt and GD test on June 12th.

    How's everyone else??

I'm doing great! 26w4d here. I had a quick labor and delivery visit last week due to some crazy left leg swelling, but my BP and NST were great and the swelling has been better since. Feeling large but other than my swollen feet I can't really complain - I'm feeling pretty good recently! I fly out for a conference next week then when I get back is the final push to get ready to move into our new house! So excited! Anyone else have bump pics to share? This was from nearly 2 weeks ago but the most recent I have at the moment.

  23. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

    @bananasareyellow: You look great!!

The last bump photo I took was exactly a week ago, so I was 25+4. It's grown since then I think! I'll hopefully get a good beach bump photo this week. Please ignore my outfit, I'd been cleaning all day and was shocked by my bump as I walked by the mirror, so I snapped a pic.

@IRunForFun: Nice belly! Sorry about the persistent groin pain, that can't be fun. Which coast are you visiting?

@bananasareyellow: Glad everything checked out ok! So exciting that you're getting closer to having the house done - then you can start nesting Great belly shot! So jealous of you mamas who get the nice round belly. When I get pregnant I gain weight all over and my boobs rival my belly in size. Ugh.

  25. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@Autumnmama79: We live on the east coast and are going further up the coast.

@bananasareyellow: Glad the swelling and all checked out OK, but that must be super annoying to deal with!!

  26. bananasareyellow

@IRunForFun: This is what my foot looked like last Friday afternoon when I took my shoe off. It was crazy and definitely uncomfortable! It hasn't been nearly as bad since thankfully.

  27. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@bananasareyellow: Oh WOW! And they had no explanation for it other than retained water?? That looks really uncomfortable, I'm so sorry! But I'm glad it's not been as bad since.

  28. bananasareyellow

    cherry / 146 posts

@IRunForFun: Their best guess was that baby was sitting on vessels returning from that leg, causing fluid to back up. Thinking back I did eat a high-salt meal the day before as well (fries are so yummy!!), so I suspect that played a role...

Hey sorry I haven’t been so active on here. Third baby plus super busy at work= just not thinking as much about this pregnancy.

    How is everyone feeling?

I had Braxton Hicks that literally kept me up half of last night and sent me into a panic. But otherwise life and this pregnancy have been uneventful (even if starting to feel really long)—haha but stay in there baby! You’re just shy of 28 weeks!

We’re still nameless. Which is also bothering me bc we’d named both our first two by way before this point. But he won’t always be nameless so I know I should stop worrying about it.

  32. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@SouthernGothamCityMama: Yes to neglected third pregnancies! Hard to find time to process it all. The Braxton hicks in the night do not sound fun at all. This morning at 5 I was woken up with a leg cramp that was so bad I couldn't bend my leg - it was stuck bent in the cramp! Scared me there for a minute.

Hope all you September mamas have a great day!

@SouthernGothamCityMama: We just barely settled on a name last week! Ugh sorry about the BH. When they keep you up and scare you it's the worst!

@Autumnmama79: Ooof leg cramps. Are you taking magnesium?

I had a preterm labor scare on Friday and spent 48 hours in the hospital getting medications to stop it, and steroids to mature baby's lungs just in case. After things were stabilized I was sent home on modified bed rest. So hopefully that will keep this baby in AT LEAST 5 more weeks. This isn't how I envisioned the last trimester going, but every day she's on the inside counts!

  34. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@IRunForFun: Ohmigosh that is scary! I'm glad everything is okay now. How is modified bed rest with your other Los at home? Also, can you share the name you decided on?

I'm not taking magnesium but maybe I should be! Hadn't heard of that remedy before.

  35. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@Autumnmama79: My inlaws came and got DD Saturday, when I was in the hospital, and she's been with them since. (They live about an hour away.) They're bringing her back Friday and then next week my parents, who are local, will help out. It's going to be tricky figuring it out for weeks on end, but we are lucky to have help.

She's going to be Eleanor! We will probably call her Ella. It was a game time decision Friday when it didn't seem like they would be able to stop things, and now that's who she is!

I have heard a lot of people have had good success reducing muscle cramping with this: https://www.amazon.com/Natural-Vitality-Supplement-Raspberry-Lemon/dp/B00BPUY3W0

@IRunForFun: Grandparents really are the best aren't they? Thats so awesome that they can jump in like that to help out.

I love the name Eleanor. Its the name of my childhood bffs moms and I've always thought it was so lovely. Thanks for the link! Thats so thoughtful.

    How's everyone doing?

I'm 33 weeks and very crampy. Have tracked contractions a few times and they peter out but learned I was 1-2 cm dialated already last Friday and 30% effaced. I'm not sure just how unusual that is (my doctor said it's early but there's a bias in that she only checks when someone has had an early baby before or lots of cramping). I'm feeling so very done and dreading having weeks more of intense cramping but also obviously want him fully baked.

    Ah, isn't pregnancy glamorous?!

Hope everyone is doing okay and anyone in the heat wave states is staying cool.

  38. Autumnmama79

    pear / 1703 posts

@SouthernGothamCityMama: hi mama! Also feeling done over here but at the same time terrified about how I’ll manage #3

No contractions to speak of but I do get crampy and the belly gets hard and tight when I walk more than 2 minutes. Third tri exhaustion is hitting me hard and it’s tough to keep up. Am in western Canada and no heat wave here, it’s been a very mild summer so far. Forever thankful to Mother Nature for that gift.

What are you doing to keep cool? A/c? Pool,?

  39. IRunForFun

    pomelo / 5509 posts

@SouthernGothamCityMama: I'm about the same dilation but more effaced, although I had preterm labor stopped in the hospital and have been on modified bed rest for almost 6 weeks. I have had a few long bouts of real, regular contractions but in between I'm always crampy and having lots of BH. I am sorry you're feeling so miserable with that many weeks to go. Maybe baby will come a bit early?

Thank goodness the heat finally broke here, I basically just stayed in the a/c for days!

@Autumnmama79: Ugh the fatigue. It's awful. Are you able to sleep relatively OK at night?

I've been on modified bed rest for almost 6 weeks after preterm labor at 28 weeks and change. 34 weeks now and I might be allowed off bed rest if a scan next week at 35+2 shows everything is OK. MFM specialist is talking about potential induction between 37 and 38 weeks but I'm not quite ready to make that decision yet.

  40. SouthernGothamCityMama

    coffee bean / 39 posts

@IRunForFun: Oh man what a hard go. I'm sorry and hope they let you off of bedrest next week!

@Autumnmama79: Glad you're escaping the heat! I'm in the city so we don't have very easy access to a pool so it's been mostly AC. I'm sorry to hear about the exhaustion.

Hope everyone else is hanging in there too! And we're getting close now!
