@Pumuckl: Congrats! Hope that you are all doing well. That is awesome that you did it with no drugs.

Last nights sleep was great, but he did have a nap today, he was just too tired.

    Thanks everyone for the wellwishes!

@ALV91711: hope I. is feeling better and the fever is gone.

@QueensBee: Really happy so see you around. How is Pete doing?

For us things are going okayish, since I am still in the hospital with the twins (F is jaundiced and F & J2 can't regulate their body temp yet) both B and J1 are starting to get antsy when we all get to go home. Definitely won't be happening before Saturday though 😟

@Pumuckl: Awww, I'm sorry to hear that! Although I think extended stays are pretty normal for twins, so hopefully you get to all go home sooner than you think!

@Pumuckl: I hope that they improve and get to go home soon. Are you still in the hospital too?

    @QueensBee: How is P?

I know it is early but is anyone thinking birthday parties yet?

@ALV91711: She has been talking about her party for 6 months now. She wanted Anna & Elsa to come to her house for a long time. But I really don't want to spend that much and have all those kids and germs in the house. She also has said gymnastic or painting. But I suggested bowling like our neighbor had and now she says that. They bowl, eat pizza, and then play video games in the arcade. Plus the adults can get drinks at the bar, so win win in my book.

@ALV91711: @Smurfette: B has been talking about whom he'll invite to his party for months now too. We'll just have some friends over and let them destroy our livingroom 😉. Since quite a few friends have baby siblings too it's easiest that way.

@Pumuckl: Sorry to hear babies are still in hospital. I hope you guys can all get home soon. It's been a long journey for you three!

@ALV91711: @Pumuckl: Pete is doing great, thanks! I think we are finally ending the threenager stage and he's been really sweet and fun recently.

We are having his party on March 11 in the auditorium of our church. There's a company that holds parties there on Saturdays and they lay down all these mats and balls and bounce equipment. Basically, Pete just wants to run around as fast as he can with his friends. This space will give him more room to do that than our house!

He is SO excited for his birthday. Most of his friends have turned four already. He tells everybody, "I'm three and THREE QUARTERS," because he wouldn't want anyone to think he's only 3 years old (gasp!)!

@Smurfette: Bowling sounds like a lot of fun. And not having the germs/mess in your house is great.

@Pumuckl: We are having a party at our house too. We are going to invite some of his daycare friends along with a couple other people. We don't really have the room but we will make it work for a couple hours.

@QueensBee: That will be a fun party. That is so cute that he is so specific about his age.

Isaac has been talking about his birthday since he went to his friends party in September. He was even telling me what each friend will bring as a gift, which I had to explain he couldn't control. He is going to have a Spider Man party and wants them to all have a mask. Hopefully this year a few kids come. Last year I think we invited 8 and 2 came. I really wish we would have nice weather so they could run around outside, but most likely there will be snow on the ground.

Xander's party is on Feb. 26th. It'll be Paw Patrol themed because that's his latest obsession! Just a house party with family though. Nothing too massive.

  18. ALV91711

@Adira: That will be fun. Paw Patrol is huge in our house too.

Last night Isaac told me he wanted a Spider Man, Paw Patrol, Super Hero, Super Why party. He wants to mix all the things up he said. So I told him after Valentines we would go to the store and he could pick what decorations he wanted.

@ALV91711: Oh wow! That'll be a fun and interesting theme!!

@Adira: I think I have plates, cups & napkins left from last year in solid colours, so his mixed up theme will make it easy to re use these and just get some decorations.

@Pumuckl: Hope you and the babies are doing good.

Tonight when I was tucking Isaac in he told me he wished he had a real baby of his own. Broke my heart. He also said he wished he was 5 so he could go to kindergarten.

@QueensBee: @ALV91711: sorry ladies only saw your questions now. Babies have been home since Sunday. Both B and J are totally enamored with them. They are so sad that they still sleep so much. The longer hospital stay had some positives like they are on a 6 feed a day schedule and they put themselves to sleep. So far nursing has worked out really well, lets hope it stays that way.

@ALV91711: Isaac will be an amazing big brother one day!

@Pumuckl: The twins being on a set schedule when they came home was the BEST thing about NICU. My next kiddo after them never got on an awesome schedule like that. It was so nice that first time. Sounds like you guys are doing pretty well!

@Pumuckl: I'm so jealous your two babies can put themselves to sleep. We are working on trying to get one to do that. Glad that things are going good.

@Pumuckl: Glad you are home and it sounds like things are going good. How awesome that they are on a schedule already. Hope you are able to get a bit of rest. Does your husband have some time off work to help out? Are the big kids still going to daycare?

  28. Pumuckl

    pomegranate / 3601 posts

@Adira: thank you. We supplemented a little in the hospital since they didn't want them trying too hard because they were quite low in weight and they had issues with regulating their body temperature which also takes lots of energy. So currently they actually do take both which might turn out to be a good thing one day. They still get one combo feed a day due to F's ( ) jaundice. But other than that it's been surprisingly easy to nurse them although I think it very much helps that I have done it before. It was a little weird to use formula at first though.

@Mrs. Blue: yeah it really helps that they somehow learned patience there too. I just hope that despite the current schedule we'll get them to do longer stretches at night.

@Smurfette: it really is a god sent, they just happily lay in their crib and wait to fall asleep. They were pretty good at that from the get go though. I do believe it has to do with them being twins though because they always have each other and we currently let them crib share.

@ALV91711: my husband is self employed so he isn't really able to take off work completely but my mom is here and helping tons with household chores like cooking and laundry and is doing daycare drop off and pick up for B and J1. And to be quite frank they are currently being really easy on us since they still sleep a lot and need little attention but for the hour it takes to feed, diaper and burp both of them.

@Pumuckl: That is awesome that you have your mom there. An extra set of hands is always good. Sounds like you guys are getting in the groove of things. I just love twins snuggled up in a crib together.

@Adira: yes. I just get bored home alone all day holding a sleeping baby. So I snack. It doesn't help DH is gone four days/three nights. So I am cooking easy stuff, which isn't the healthiest. I have to lose weight before I go back to work or I won't have clothes to wear.

  39. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@Smurfette: I didn't have the away husband, but definitely staying home with the baby, I snacked all day. I ended up having to buy all new clothes when I returned to work because I hadn't lost any of the baby weight.

@Adira: I kept all my clothes from before I lost a lot of weight. They don't fit. My hips and thighs are huge. What did you do lose? No carbs?
