-Do you have any older children? Nope!
-What is your baby's latest milestone? He's been so much more aware of his surroundings. He follows us with his eyes and has discovered his voice!
-What is your current favorite thing about LO? He's so sweet and cuddly. I love his coos and baby smiles!
-How has your family unit been adjusting to the new baby? It's been so much easier and better than I anticipated! I expected the hardest, worst adjustment, so I'm glad it isn't as hard as I expected!
-How are YOU doing? I'm feeling good overall. I'm at my pre pregnancy weight but things are definitely not the way they were before. We had a lot of trouble getting started with breastfeeding. He had his tongue and lip ties clipped, but weeks later we are still using a nipple shield to nurse. It's the only way we are able to have a nursing relationship though, so it's worth it!

She is normal. My son was tough...

-How has your family unit been adjusting to the new baby?
So far, so good. But we have had lots of help. Second week of June is our first time alone. Little boy absolutely loves her.

-How are YOU doing?
Okay. Working is hard, but I am loving both of my kids.

-What is your current favorite thing about LO? How smiley and talkative he is, he is just so sweet!
-How has your family unit been adjusting to the new baby? Dd is doing great, I actually find having 2 kids easier than one but I've been having some anxiety. Dh and my relationship could use some work
-How are YOU doing? Okay, I actually started some medication for post partum anxiety and it is helping I think. There's a lot going on right now but I'm having a really nice maternity leave atm.

@Anya: oh absolutely! She's been the center of attention and now she has to share that. We've been trying to really give her lots of one on one time.

@Anya: I think it was tougher for DH because it was a weekend and I was out of commission lol!

@blackbird: well thank goodness you got sick on the weekend so you had some extra help!

-How old is your LO? My LO is 5 weeks.

-Do you have any older children? I have an almost 2 year old.

-What is your baby's latest milestone? She's spending more time awake and engaged.

-What is your current favorite thing about LO? She is so sweet and easy-going.

-How has your family unit been adjusting to the new baby? I found it hard to adjust the first couple of weeks. My 2 year old is not adjusting that well - she is very whiney and clingy and baby-ish still. my husband seems happy, lol

-How are YOU doing? I was doing quite poorly after a difficult pregnancy and birth. Now I am better emotionally, but I still am having a lot of problems with healing from the birth. It's interesting that I have had a much tougher time with pain from a vaginal birth than from my first c-section.

@Anya: they are amazing! It's nice to finally get some sort of response from them!

-How old is your LO? 3 days!

-Do you have any older children? Nope - she is our first.

-What is your baby's latest milestone? Being born? We're not quite to milestone stages yet.

-What is your current favorite thing about LO? I just love to snuggle with her! I can hardly believe she is here.

-How has your family unit been adjusting to the new baby? So far, so good. We haven't gotten to introduce out dog to the new baby yet though.

-How are YOU doing? I am just so ready to leave the hospital and get home. We checked in Tuesday around lunch time and ended up being admitted and induced (severe pre-e). After a long and unsuccessful labor, I had a c-section on Thursday morning. I've been still fighting BP issues and now DD has to be under the bili lights. It is looking promising for us to go home tomorrow (Mon) but that is still getting to be almost a week since I checked in to the hospital!

@Anya: Just me and baby, thankfully. Though DS was hysterical this morning having to leave us

@SeptMomma12: newborn sleep deprivation is made soo much worse by having a toddler at home who is an early riser and then not being able to nap whenever!

Kicking his legs and moving his arms infrint of his face

-What is your current favorite thing about LO?
His smiling and laughing, especially when he sees me and his face lights up!

-How has your family unit been adjusting to the new baby?
Overall really well. DH has been really supportive and picked up any slack around the house. We're starting to have time to connect regularly without the baby around even if it's 10 minutes before falling asleep.

-How are YOU doing?
I could use more sleep. W is a big boy at almost 13 lbs, so I was really hoping he would drop down to one wake up, but no luck yet. otherwise I'm feeing pretty good. I'm more confident in my abilities than I expected and that has helped a lot!

-How old is your LO?

He will be 7 weeks tomorrow!

-Do you have any older children?

Nope, this sweetie is the first, but hopefully not the last!

-What is your baby's latest milestone?

Lots of smiling and talking to us and in response to his books and batting toys.

-What is your current favorite thing about LO?

Love the snuggles - he's asleep on me right now! Also amazing that he is responsive in terms of smiling at us and talking back when we coo and talk to him - so much fun!

-How has your family unit been adjusting to the new baby?

Pretty well - DH has been back to work for 5 weeks. We're still working on adjusting to each others parenting styles - I'm more hands on, wanting to interact, hold, sing, talk and read to him whereas DH does some of that but has him in his swing or on the playmat more than me. I'm also working on taking an hour or so a day for me once DH is home from work. He's a teacher and only has one more week until break, so we'll have 8 weeks off together before I go to work. I miss our connection time, but we're working on it and I think it'll be better this summer too!

-How are YOU doing?

Really well. The first 3 weeks we're really, really hard for me physically and emotionally, but I feel like myself again! Have lost more than half my pregnancy weight, so am happy about that and wanting to exercise regularly again too! Still working out daycare plans but the thought of not being with LO 24/7 is honestly breaking my heart - had a big cry about it today!

@Banana330: yes, totally feel this way too! I think LO is going through s growth spurt too, as he's verb eating every 1.5-2 hours the past couple days and he's normally like clockwork at 3 hours!

@Anya: thanks so much for starting this thread! I've missed all the pre-pregnancy chatter from our April moms thread!!

Sleep has been pretty consistent for the last few weeks. He goes between 7-8, has wakeup at 1 and another at 4, then is up for the day at 6. It's exhausting, but I think my body is starting to adjust!
