Just curious April mommas, are you going to be team green? I think we would be able to find out the sex before Christmas if we wanted which would be fun.
Will you find out? Do you have a preference?

@HazelEyes: we were team green last time but maybe want to find out this time!

we definitely want to find out as soon as we can, I am much too impatient! not that I actually have a preference, and I would prefer gender neutral decor and gear anyway, I just want to know as much as possible as soon as possible.

We're planning to find out. I don't know exactly when but I think around Thanksgiving?
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@nana87: if we do find out I think we would keep it a secret between us and not tell anyone we found out.
clementine / 811 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Thats fun too. Not tell anyone until birth, or have a reveal later on in your pregnancy? I think it would be harder to not use pronouns if I knew!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@luckypenny - any thoughts what you will do? I already have a daughter too so knowing would be nice this time.

I will be team green whenever my times comes. Hopefully sooner than later!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@HazelEyes: we would probably keep it secret until the birth. I don't know, maybe I'm crazy, but I think we could pull it off without slippig. Plus we wouldn't tell people that we knew.

I wanna find out RIGHT NOW!! Haha DH and I are very impatient, i need to know!!!

I'm a March mum but my husband and I are not going to find out before the birth...I don't have any burning desire to know, and I DO NOT want to be overloaded with gender-specific clothes/toys before baby comes (I know it will happen after whether we like it or not!). I work at a girl's school and I know how ingrained gender roles become no matter what you do, so I'm going to try my damndest right from the start to not to think of my LO as girl or boy but as an individual who will have their own interests, likes and dislikes!

We're finding out. I have so much unused girl stuff, and if it's a boy, I need the time to sell the girl stuff and buy boy stuff.
I think we find out some time in November. Sounds so far away!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@ScarletBegonia: these are a lot of the reasons we were team green with our first. I like that everything we have is pretty neutral.
@Dandelion: I can totally see from a logistics perspective why you'd want to find out. November does seem so far away.

I know I'm not a April mommy but I'm feb mom but we are definitely find out I'm so ready for these next few weeks to flight by our appt is sept 17 I'll be 18 weeks then

@T.H.O.U.: this is a fun question! it's our first and we're big planners and list makers so I don't think we can hold out! Although I would love to be team green I don't have the discipline
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@cmbknyc: I am so curious, so I am getting excited about it. I have heard that your pregnancies will be different between genders so I am interested to see if I get hit with morning sickness this time (maybe a boy) or if its the same carry wide (maybe another girl)

I am finding out. I just can't bear the thought of not knowing. Plus I think it would be nice calling my unborn child by his/her name and I don't know. I just find it a way for me to better bond with him/her.

i think we'll opt to find out. how early can you find out?? 18-20 weeks? i feel like a lot more people these days are team green. i think that's so exciting, but i'm just too impatient!
watermelon / 14206 posts
@SupernovaJ: With S, I got one done at a boutique at 16+5 and learned she was a girl! I think Dr offices do an anatomy scan around 20 weeks, though. (I think...it's been a while!)
I'm SO looking forward to all the extra ultrasounds for this baby!

We are going to find out. My husband is already convinced its a girl. I'm too much of a planner to wait.

I just outed myself on another post, so might as well join the April 2014 boards full force...;)
We will find out- highly considering paying for the test to find out early.

Team Green!! Our name choices are a little unusual, so that's one reason. It's easier to keep the name to yourself if you don't know the gender. We're also hoping for more gender neutral stuff. And to be honest, it's gonna drive our families nuts, and we're contrary like that. ^_^
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Torchwood: I agree that being Team Green the first time helped avoid name "comments". If someone didnt like our boy name we could always just say "well maybe it will be a girl".

@chibee: I read your response and was like YESSSS!! That is how I feel!!
My mom didn't find out with any of us, and I just know that's not possible for me... I have a nursery to plan, and cute things to buy! lol

We're going to find out as soon as possible. I freely admit to wanting a girl (though I'll be thrilled with a boy, too!) I'm 'high risk', so my OB said we can find out as early as 12 weeks (due to the scanners they use for hr pregnancies), depending on Teeny's cooperation... heh.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@sweetkeight: 12 weeks?? That's crazy! It's amazing how early they can tell!
cherry / 202 posts
@Dandelion: I know - when she said that, I stopped her and said "Wait a minute, I thought it was 20 weeks?" And she responded that high risk pregnancies can have some nice perks and that when she was pregnant, she found out at 12 weeks, too. Wow. Meanwhile, trust my little Teeny to be one who will just stay all huddled and prevent us from seeing! I'm team impatient!

@T.H.O.U.: oh man! Just now saw that you tagged me earlier in this! We are going to be team green! I needed to know the first time but DH really wanted to be TG. I promised him that we would be 2nd pregnancy. Im so anxious though!
cherry / 166 posts
We've always been Team Green but now that I'm actually pregnant, I kind of want to to find out! DH is more firmly Team Green than I am so I don't know how we'll deal with it if I decide I really want to find out and he doesn't.
papaya / 10343 posts
Um... AS SOON AS POSSIBLE! haha. I'm so excited to find out. My husband I think might lean team green if he didn't know how much it would kill me not to know.
I'm not quite sure when I'll tell everyone else though. I'll be about 21ish weeks along at Christmas so I'm sort of hoping I find out before than and then can manage to keep a secret and announce it at Christmas.

We're finding out and we're doing a gender reveal party. Can't wait!
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@Dandelion: you must be close to finding out right?? We are still undecided.
watermelon / 14206 posts
@T.H.O.U.: I wish! I still have another 6-8 weeks! We're not paying for a boutique one early this time since we get one with the dr any ways. Waiting is hard lol
