Well, our kid has inherited my stubborness! S/he spent 45 minutes crouched down with legs crossed! The tech thinks boy, but told us not to do any major shopping yet. I have a follow up anatomy scan on Dec 17, but I also have a regular ob appt on Dec. 6, so I'm hoping I can get my ob to do another scan!

IT'S A BOY!! Full story here, but I didn't think we'd find out until 18 weeks, instead we got to find out at 15! http://boards.hellobee.com/topic/maybebaby-is-having-a

I had my 18 week checkup yesterdayand everything looked good. The blood work from the second part of my nt scan came back and things look normal. Baby girl's heartbeat was strong!

Hi lovely May ladies! Just popping in to give an update and see how y'all are doing.
I have an appointment with a new midwife tomorrow. DH got a new job and so we had to switch insurances, which means switching midwife practices. I hope I love her because she has really terrible hours (T/W 10 - 3). If I don't I'll find another one, but I tried calling a different place last week and got denied because they are "delivering too many babies already in May". I had no idea that was possible.
We are 16W tomorrow and I still haven't told many people. It's the oddest thing to be walking around with this huge secret for so long. But, it also feels like just mine since I haven't really told anyone yet. Does everyone know about you guys already? Has anyone not told work yet?
How are you guys doing / feeling? Any new gender appts. soon?!

@Mrs. Lovejoy: we told everyone at 13 weeks. I could keep it any longer. I told my boss around 7w because I was really sick, and we are all really close at work. I told all my coworkers at 9w after our ultrasound.
Tomorrow is our anatomy scan! Can't wait to see our little man again

@Cupcake: Such a cute bump!! I'm excited for mine to look like a real bump and not like I just had too many donuts!! Congrats on the little man

@maybebaby: I have my anatomy scan today! Nervous!
apricot / 495 posts
@autumnlove: how did it go? We had ours last Wednesday. They couldn't get a few shots, so I'll have another scan in 4 weeks. Still a boy!
How's everyone doing? I came down with a nasty 24 hour bug on Sunday. It was like the first trimester packed into 24 hours. It was terrible!
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@Cupcake: Still a girl! My tech wasn't very chatty and I almost fell asleep a few times since it took soooo long...one hour and 15 minutes!
She said my placenta is anterior and the baby looks good but didn't elaborate!

@septemberlove: congratulations!! So exciting!
How's everyone doing? Can't believe most of us our well on our way through the second trimester already! I've just lately started to truly "feel" pregnant, where I'm cognizant that there's actually something more than normal in my tummy and there's more pressure/weight.
Have you guys been feeling baby move at all? I think I started feeling something this week, but from the inside not the outside. DH is waiting (un)patiently to feel it - he's so excited!

@Cupcake: Sorry to hear about your 24hr bug! Ugh, I can't imagine that on top of being pregnant. I'm hoping the typical winter sicknesses bypass me this year (but we'll see if I could get that lucky!)

@septemberlove: Congrats, welcome to team blue!
@Cupcake: Feel better
@autumnlove: wow, that's a long time! i have my anatomy scan on friday, not sure what to expect.
@Mrs. Lovejoy: remind me how far along you are? i haven't felt anything yet (16w5d) that is for SURE baby, but there have been some movements where i'm like maybe this ISN'T gas?
clementine / 972 posts
@maybebaby: I'm just 17W today. I literally just started feeling them 2 days ago, when I was really full after lunch and bending over in my chair. It was definitely something abnormal, but pretty awesome!
How exciting that you have your scan this Friday!!! Mine's next Friday and I literally cannot wait.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: I can't feel from the outside yet. Dh was pouting last night because he can't feel baby. It was kind of cute.
clementine / 972 posts
@maybebaby: Yes until next week. I was talking to DH about possibly sealing it in an envelope until we go to dinner that night and maybe doing some sort of private reveal, but he doesn't know if he can wait that long once we have it in our possession! I was laughing because we'll have waited 18 weeks and he can't wait 2 hours.
@Cupcake: haha so was my DH. He tried so hard, but that babe was not strong enough to let daddy feel it yet!

@Mrs. Lovejoy: Aww! We had the early elective scan and we had the tech put it in an envelope and opened it at our favorite lunch spot, soon after. We went to lunch straight away but agreed to wait to order so we could have some privacy. LONGEST ORDERING TIME EVER! Haha. I really loved finding out as just the two of us though Any hunches!?
clementine / 972 posts
@maybebaby: I think I'll want to wait until its just the two of us too :)... We've always thought we'd have a girl first and still thought that up until this week, now I don't know why but I'm starting to feel boy! I'm conflicted. But, I want both, so we'll be really happy either way

@Mrs. Lovejoy: That was another reason I liked finding out privately--I had really wanted a girl (DH too) and it is a boy. So I could be surprised and get used to it in our safe little bubble. That being said, now that I've gotten used to our baby boy I can't imagine this little human inside me as anything but!

Has anyone started on their nursery? We are converting our home office into Junior's room. We painted it about a year ago and love the colors, so it's staying tan with brown shelves. The backs of the built-in shelves are dark teal and it's just super calm. We decided on classic pooh years ago and I found the cutest wallpaper border! It's got a lot of sky blue in it, so he'll have some boy blue in there! We are using it to create a chair rail. I found four classic pooh prints on etsy that have cute pooh quotes, my favorite is "the moment I saw you, I knew an adventure was going to happen" adorable so I'm framing those today and hanging them in his room. We have the crib set up and he has a dresser (only half-full...haha I may have gone on a small shopping spree when we found out the gender...) and then my mom bought us a changing table for Christmas and gave us the rocking chair she used in my nursery
we just need diapers, wipes, bath stuff, and a couple pieces of gear and we'll be all set! I'm holding off on car seat, high chair, stroller, etc. until the shower. But we're feeling pretty prepared!

@septemberlove: we started ours! installing board and batten this weekend! Walls/ceiling have already been painted. We did gray for the walls. The molding is going to be white. My parents bought us our crib. I picked out the majority of the fabrics for the room, I'm diying it all. I'm really excited I feel like we are in pretty good shape.

@Cupcake: like a slate grey? I bet it's awesome! Are you having a boy or girl? Or team green?

Hi all! I just felt the baby kick for the first time...21 weeks on Thursday! I started feeling flutters around 17 weeks!
Hope everyone is doing well!!!
@mauri: congrats on Team Blue!!!!
cherry / 174 posts
@septemberlove: We aren't really doing a full out nursery but we are slowly buying things that we need.
@Cupcake: @mauri: Team BLUE! WAHOO!
@autumnlove: I was thinking I felt the baby with some little popping feelings but I can't tell if it's gas or baby. I'm about 18 weeks now. I can't wait to feel a kick! You must be overjoyed.
