Yay! We need to get chatty on this board

    How far along? 21w2d

    Gender: Team Green!

Total weight gain? I am scared to weigh myself, but think I'm up around 12-13 lbs

Maternity clothes? I'm still squeezing into my bellaband, and got 4 pairs of maternity pants shortened this weekend so once those are back, I'll be rockin' them

    Stretch marks? Not yet!

Belly button (innie/outie)? Innie but losing depth

Sleep? I've been blessed with sleeping super well since my BFP. I was always a horrible sleeper and somehow this is helping...

Best moment this week? Hearing my crossfit coach told my husband I'm his hero. That may have been the best moment of the month.

Worst moment this week? DH woke up at 3am last night because his back hurt and neither of us could get back to sleep

    Miss anything? Wine

Cravings? Still carbs. And frozen burritos.

    Most worried about? Finances.

Most excited about? DH being able to feel a kick!

Struggles? Starting to slow down but overall it's been easy!

Movement? Yes, finally! Feeling some kicks!

Nursery progress? Last weekend we went to town! Got a crib, 2 dressers (one for changing table), and glider. That's probably all we'll do.. we aren't big decorators.

    Names picked? Not yet!

    Gender: boy
Total weight gain? 4lbs (it was 6 and recently lost 2)
Maternity clothes? some shirts and jeans but mostly wearing same clothes from before
    Stretch marks? Nope
    Belly button (innie/outie)? innie
Sleep? I've been waking up to pee so much.
Best moment this week? Felt our son kick from the outside at 3am this morning! Then the hubs felts the kick around 9:30. LOVE
Worst moment this week? The getting up to pee thing is so annoying. I also had some stomach issues this week too.
    Cravings? No cravings so far.
Most worried about? If I want a natural birth or the epidural. Can't decide.
Most excited about? Meeting our baby!
Struggles? Mostly that I'm living in a foreign country and all my friends are back in NYC. I miss having a support system in person.
Movement? YES! Like I said above.. I feel him moving on the outside of my tummy now. Makes me soooooo happy!
Nursery progress? I have some crocheted things that I hung up. I have a post about it! (http://www.anniegurumi.com/2013/01/14/crochet-madness/)
    Names picked? Oliver!

Also. This may be TMI but has anyone else had dry nipple/aureolas? My right boob is so dry and I've been putting on jojoba oil and the dryness seem to go away. I have some weird skin tag looking things on my boob too. Pregnancy really does bring out weird stuff huh?

    How far along? 21W4D
    Gender: Boy!
Total weight gain? 8 lbs or so
Maternity clothes? A mix of maternity and regular with some cardis/tops a size up from Target clearance
    Stretch marks? So far, none
Belly button (innie/outie)?Still an innie, but it is getting wider and flatter as belly expands.
Sleep? DH got my the snoogle and I sleep like a baby!
Best moment this week? DH felt him kick for the first time last night. It was amazing!
Worst moment this week? Mmm the constant battle with my sweet tooth?
Miss anything? Wine, being more active.
Cravings? Carbs, sweets, meats. Everything. Hungry all the time!
Most worried about? Job situation for the fall. I do not plan to come back to my current job (working at a museum part time while I finish grad school). Will be looking for a brand new job and that seems kind of a crazy project for "maternity leave"
Most excited about? Interviewing doulas in the coming weeks
Struggles? I know my family is excited, but they don't know how to express it. I feel like talking about it is difficult with them, I wish they were more open to it.
Nursery progress? We need to swap our current bedroom with our guest/office. In the meantime, we have the area rug picked out and the dresser that will be the changing table. Also have rocker and ottoman.
Names picked? We pick a new name every week to try out, and when we talk to or about the baby we call him by that week's name. Last week he was Charlie (for Charles) and this week he is Jack for Jackson.

@anniegurumi: I had a skin tag ON my nipple around 13 weeks. It drove me crazy, and my nips were so sensitive. I started putting lanolin on and it got better. Eventually the tag fell off on its own.

@anniegurumi: haha my whole body has been itching lately and I'm a bit terrified that I may be developing a skin tag on my FACE. Ugh.. I really hope it's not though!

    clementine / 972 posts

@JoJoGirl: I know! I think for me personally it just means I'm really going to pile it on at the end of this tri and 3rd tri!

  12. anniegurumi

    cherry / 174 posts

@Cupcake: OH man! I want cocoa butter! They don't sell it in Shanghai. Jojoba has been helping me A TON!

@maybebaby: It is comforting that I'm not the only one! (Phew) I fully look forward to it going away now. lol and thank you! Oliver kicks hello!

@Mrs. Lovejoy: I hope not too! I've had a skin tag on my neck before and it fell off pretty quickly. So i hope that if it is for you that it also goes away quick.

@JoJoGirl: I think my weight gain (or lack of) is mostly because I was already a bigger girl and also I can't stand sweets since I got pregnant. I've been eating mostly whole foods, raw or almost raw foods. It's crazy. I weight less than I did pre pregnancy. :X As long as baby is healthy, little or lot of weight gain doesn't matter. And I agree with @Mrs. Lovejoy: that we'll probably gain it all at the end of this or 3rd tri.

    Gender: girl
    Total weight gain? 10lb
Maternity clothes? Yes-- some jeans.. usually wear leggings and my regular tops but they are tight.
    Stretch marks? None
Belly button (innie/outie)? innie - but my belly button looks like it's expanded.
Sleep? I have a snoogle which has helped but I get up so often to go pee in the middle of the night!
Best moment this week? feeling some rumblings/twinges in my stomach-- which I'm assuming is baby girl..
Worst moment this week? My car battery died on Monday morning which freaked me out (I'm a teacher) but luckily my sister in law is staying with us so she took me to work.
    Miss anything? sushi, oysters, beer
    Cravings? fruity flavors
    Most worried about? labor
Most excited about? having the baby... we've had 2 miscarriages prior to this so we are very thankful and excited to be this far a long. each week is a blessing!
Struggles? I sometimes feel light headed/faint when I've been on my feet or walking for too long (especially when I feel warm.) I felt like that while shopping at the mall and had to step out to get some fresh air.
Movement? some rumblings and what feels like kicks but not strong yet.
    Nursery progress? not yet!
Names picked? we have some names rolling around in our heads but nothing picked out yet. I really like the name Ava but it might be too short.

    How far along? 25w1d

    Gender: boy

Total weight gain? -14lbs (up from -25 at the end of the first trimester!)

Maternity clothes? Yup, wearing all maternity at this point

Stretch marks? A few small ones on my belly

    Belly button (innie/outie)? innie

Sleep? I love my snoogle! I've been waking up really early in the morning, unable to fall back asleep though

Best moment this week? My husband feeling the baby move! And him playing the guitar for the baby.

Worst moment this week? Having a major freakout this morning about feeling like we have sooo much still to do before baby gets here. My freakout got us to clean out our closets to make more room for incoming baby stuff at least.

    Miss anything? beer, deli meat

    Cravings? clementines, greek yogurt

Most worried about? having a shunt malfunction during pregnancy or labor (I was born with hydrocephalus and have a shunt in my brain to control it)

Most excited about? Meeting our son!

Struggles? Getting up and down the stairs to the subway

Movement? I can feel him swimming and fluttering around in there

Nursery progress? We live in a studio, so poor kid doesn't get a dedicated nursery. Have his stroller/bassinet, but nothing else major yet. In the process of cleaning out my closet and dresser, so that all my clothes fit in my closet and I can use the dresser for baby stuff. We did buy an awesome new glider from West Elm recently that I absolutely love, and plan on using for feedings/rocking to sleep.

Names picked? We're leaning towards William Aidan or James Aidan, but nothing finalized yet.

@JoJoGirl: I think I lost so much because I was overweight to begin with, then spent most of the first trimester puking or battling nausea. And my eating habits have also gotten much healthier. I totally lost my sweet tooth!

@anniegurumi: I have skin tags on my boobs too! Hoping they go away!

How are you ladies doing?? My bump is getting much more noticeable and I feel my son kicking so much! The hubs feels his kicks if it's strong but not too often. It's the best feeling in the world.

Just hit the 24th week and can't believe May isn't too far away!

How far along? 25 weeks 1 day
    Gender: Boy
Total weight gain? Oy… I am definitely at about 20 pounds now, but I don’t go on the scale at home anymore. You gals are lucky!
Maternity clothes? I am having bra-fitting issues. Every time I buy a new bra, I end up growing again...
Stretch marks? No, I don’t think so… but this reminds me to go put on some lotion after posting!
    Belly button (innie/outie)? Innie -ish.
Sleep? I wake up every 2 hours to pee.
Best moment this week? Feeling the baby kicking
Worst moment this week? Meh.. it’s a Monday. I’m tired and not getting enough sleep and I’d rather day-dream about my baby than work.
Miss anything? Wine, sushi, sleeping through the night, working out hard.
Cravings? cereal/milk and toast with jam and cream cheese.
Most worried about? I have a feeling my DH won’t be taking any time off of work. I picture me in labor and him taking breaks to pick up client phone calls.
Most excited about? Meeting our son!
Struggles? I had a cold and was miserable without any meds. And my cough/pee fits were pretty bad…
    Movement? Yes, lots!
Nursery progress? We have a crib, sitting in a box, waiting for us to assemble it.
Names picked? No… I keep thinking we have lots of time for names and the nursery and all that, but then again, time has been flying by so I really need to get going on this stuff!

Hmm.. I think I just figured out what "subscribe" means, so hopefully that will help me keep track of this board better.

@anniegurumi: your skin tag went away?? I didn't know what it was and tried to pick mine off... wow, big mistake. that was painful. i'll have to try the jojoba oil.

  27. anniegurumi

    cherry / 174 posts

@karma: I think we might be EDD twins!!! Are you due May 20?

Yes!!! Mine went away, I keep using jojoba and it's been working for me. I have no idea if it's ok to use or not but I figure since it's natural and it mimics the oils in our skin, it should be ok.

  28. yppah

@anniegurumi: Yup, May 20 is the big day! I can't believe it - it seemed so far away before but gosh... it's really just around the corner now!

whoa, baby boy just started punching/kicking really hard... kinda making me feel nauseous (just ate dinner). but, it's still the best feeling in the world.

Hi May mommies! I'm not a May mommy this year, but I was last year. I'm looking forward to welcoming all of your little guys and gals to the hive. Good luck in the next few months!

  30. maybebaby

    nectarine / 2177 posts

    @Weagle: Thank you!!

How is everyone doing these days? I feel like we are such a quiet board compared to other months. Maybe we should do a due date/gender/etc list to get to know where everyone is in one place?

Things are going well with me and baby boy. Loving feeling him rolling around morning and night. Finding it very hard to focus on my last grad semester and work, I'd rather day dream about him and plan the nursery!!

  31. anniegurumi

    cherry / 174 posts

@karma: Yay! We're EDD twins! hahaha yes I would have to agree the kicking is the best feeling in the world!!!

@Weagle: Awww thanks so much! You are so sweet!

@maybebaby: We do have a quieter board! For me it's because I'm in Shanghai and sadly HB is blocked here. I have to use a VPN to access the site so it's sometimes a hassle for me to check every day.

Things are going well here for me too! I see baby boy kicking through my stomach now and it's so exciting! I'm finding myself putting my hand on my stomach all day long in hopes that I can feel him.

Hope you guys are doing well! Thinking about all you lovely ladies this morning

I know this isn't a definite predictor, but my mom was telling me this past weekend that she had both my sis and I 2 weeks early. This means LO could come in ~ 12 weeks!!! That just seems so soon. Where is the time going?! Anyone else feeling like things are really flying?

What are y'all doing for childcare/work/etc. after baby? We're still trying to figure it out and I think if I don't soon, it will start causing me a little bit of anxiety...

    Hello!

My semester is just getting under way too, right as this baby business is starting to seem real... And not so far away!

I'm stressing a little about gear... We have a small apt and will be moving overseas for 9 months in September so I'm really trying to focus on keeping baby stuff to a minimum and making sure the majority of what we buy or register for is portable... Not easy in the world of many-page lists of baby items you can't possibly do without. Eek! Any gear thoughts much appreciated!

Has anyone tried calling their insurance to see about an Obama-sponsored pump??? Meaning to do that soon...

Baby girl is moving tons so that's fun... And I've started regular prenatal yoga, which I'm loving.

Unfortunately now is the moment, I guess, when strangers feel the need to share their birth horror stories with me. Thanks, guys... Inspirational!

I'm 28 weeks along now. Crazy to think our son could be here in about 11 weeks!

Anyone having a shower soon? My mom and mil are hosting one for us the 2nd weekend in March. I've been bad and have been stalking the registries. So fun seeing the things bought for us so far!

I also splurged on a maternity/newborn/6 month/12 month photo package, so we're taking maternity pictures next month. Looking forward to them since I love how I look with a bump. I'm attaching a bump picture from about a week ago.

@mjane: I'm currently only working part time, so we've decided that I'll just be a stay at home mom after our son gets here. I don't make that much money at my current job, so it doesn't make sense for us to pay just as much for childcare as I make.

  36. autumnlove

    hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts

I'm checking in at 28 weeks and 2 days! I am soooo tired these days...I'm normally a night owl but I have trouble staying awake past 10.

I feel like my pregnancy is flying by...my scheduled C-section will be around 39 weeks.

I am planning to work FT after maternity leave and we will have daycare expenses for two children.

I hope everyone is doing well!

    @mauri: cute bump!

  37. mjane

@Mrs. Lovejoy: I'm taking a year off from grad school, in part to take care of the babe and also since we'll be living abroad. I work on a very part time basis now, from home, so I'll be keeping that up. When we return and I begin my last year of grad school, my husband will be working part time and caring for baby part time. I think we'll do a nanny share to cover the three days/week he won't be with her... She'll be around 16 mos by then, so we'll see... Maybe part-time daycare will look like a better option by then?

  38. yppah

    coffee bean / 35 posts

    @anniegurumi: VPN access = yuck!

@mrs. lovejoy: I work from home anyway, so hopefully I'll be able to continue that not too long after the baby's born (but maybe that's wishful thinking). And yes, time is totally just flying by these days!

@mjane: I have Aetna and they told me that I have to wait until after the baby is born (but within 30 days after) to order a pump... so I have that to look forward to right after the birth - great.

    @mauri: great bump!

@autumnlove: I normally like to get some work done after dinner but have been finding it SO hard to keep my eyes open. Of course, I'm wide awake now at 11:30PM, while browsing through this site

Thankfully we found a nice daycare just a mile or so from our house. DH was pretty adamant that LO not go downtown every day through rush hour traffic. Looking at day area was pretty rough, it made me really have to confront the fact that I would be leaving my baby with someone else

Oh my goodness, it took me forever to get back on HB!

I'm checking in the middle of my 26th week. I've been SOOOOO tired! AHHHH, so tired. I also have some breast pains, does anyone else have that? I don't know what it is.

    @mauri: Cute bump!!!!!!
We actually had our baby shower back in December because we went back home to NYC (from Shanghai) and our friends threw it for us VERY early. Luckily the day of our flight, we had a doc appointment and found out we are having a boy. So everyone knew before we came!

We also just booked a maternity and newborn session! I can't wait!!!! Any tips on how to do makeup, hair and what clothes? We never had proper engagement/wedding pics cuz our wedding photog took our money and bailed on us. So I have no idea what to expect or how to look our best in it!
