Merry belated Holidays ladies! How was everyone's holidays?
We had a great time at a holiday party for work, my LO has been moving around quite a bit. But he is terrified (or curious?) of the hub's voice. LOL he'll stop moving whenever he hears his dad.

@autumnlove: You look wonderful!! Such a cute bump!
@anniegurumi: Happy Holidays to you too! So exciting you've been able to feel LO move around. I've felt our LO a little bit, but not where you can feel from the outside. Hopefully in the next week or two!
We had our A/S last Friday and found out we're having a GIRL! I'm so thrilled!!! Now that we know, EVERYONE has been asking names, but I think we're going to keep it to ourselves until she's born. Anyone else doing this and running into very curious people? I'm not sure how to politely and quickly say we're not telling without hurting feelings, but we'll figure it out.
I also tried to explain to DH that we might get a LOT of clothes for our shower. His solution is to just add a ton of stuff to our registry so people think we need a ton. I'm not sure that will work though it people truly just want to buy clothes.

@Mrs. Lovejoy: congrats! We're going to keep LO's name a secret (once we decide). I have just been telling people we haven't decided, and probably won't until he's here. They seem to get it.
In other news I felt Baby kick (on the outside) on Monday! And DH felt it on Christmas! I loved the look on his face when he finally felt him! It was the best Christmas present!

Hi guys! I've been sort of MIA on this thread We had our anatomy scan Friday at 18 weeks, everything looked perfect! Still Team Green though. Now down to business with starting to sort out gear.. DH is a little delusional about how much storage/closet space we are going to need in the nursery so I'm expecting that will be no fun. First stop: crib.
cherry / 174 posts
@Mrs. Lovejoy: Congrats on your little girl!!!!!!!! We actually went back to NY (from Shanghai) and our friends threw us a shower. We had things on our registry and for the most part people bought it for us but a lot of others didn't. I hope you get everything you want and need!!!
We already have a name picked out for our LO. His name is Oliver.
@autumnlove: Congrats!!!!! I'm almost 20 weeks Can you believe we are all almost halfway/are halfway???
@JoJoGirl: Yay for your anatomy scan! We have our level two ultrasound next saturday. I'm really excited but they said it could last a couple hours. I can't wait to see our baby again!
How is everyone doing with MS? Is it mostly gone? Mine is mostly gone and my belly is starting to grow. I feel LO moving around, sometimes my uterus POPS out and if I poke it, he moves back in. LOL It's really cute and strange to me.
hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts
@anniegurumi: I love the name Oliver!!!
My MS started at 13 weeks and is mostly gone now...whew!

@autumnlove: Thank you!!!
I am so glad your MS is almost gone!!!! I only had nauseous feelings/gagging but that all went away a month ago. (lucky me)
apricot / 495 posts
@anniegurumi: love Oliver! I'm not nauseous ever anymore, but once in a while I will lose my breakfast half way through. Like Xmas morning. It hadn't happened in 4ish weeks.
Baby boy is super active in the am, and right after dinner. It's crazy to actually feel him in there now!
I'm super lazy about taking bump shots. Anyone else stink at keeping it up?
cherry / 174 posts
@Cupcake: Awww!!! I'm so sorry about your xmas breakfast! I hope it never happens again. *HUGS*
I was SO good about it in the beginning but now I'm taking it once a month. I was doing it weekly but it mostly looked the same lol. I do put my bump pictures on my instagram. If you girls are on it, I'd love to add you. (Mine is the same, anniegurumi)

Hope everyone is doing well! This is my 23 + 3 day bump during jean shopping!

@anniegurumi: @Cupcake: Thanks! Do you have any bump or nesting updates? I think I am leaning towards a pale blue for my daughter's nursery! Ice blue and pink decor!

@autumnlove: we just bought a crib from ikea, the sundvik. we live in shanghai so we didn't want to buy a local brand and stick with something international. the price wasn't bad, it converts to a toddler bed. i feel like it's a win.
as far as the nursery, we aren't doing much because we live as expats here and we're not allowed to paint/nail/etc the walls. (since we're not paying for it) but i did make a few crocheted items to decorate!

@autumnlove: Look at that bump!! You look darling! @anniegurumi: Those are adorable!! You are so good at that!
Hope you guys are doing well! I've just started feeling baby girl kick and it is AWESOME! Nothing that I can feel from the outside yet, but I hope that comes soon!
We are just starting to think about the nursery. Here's our inspiration board right now. We have a lot to do (removing popcorn from ceiling, painting, making things, etc..) but I'm so excited! We're going with grey walls, a high gloss light pink ceiling with gold metallic stars, and then white/pearl, natural wood, gold and pink accents throughout the room.
We also just started our registry. Anyone else starting theirs soon?
I feel like time is flying now that we're in 2013! so surreal!

Popping in to say that we're having a girl! GAH! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pretty excited. Passed our anatomy scan yesterday and finally feeling a fair amount of movement (I'm almost 22 weeks) and my husband has felt kicks once, too! The technician at our scan yesterday said, "Now you can enjoy your pregnancy," and I'm hoping to take that to heart. I've been kinda anxious and am hoping being solidly in the 2nd tri will help me chill out a little bit.
I've been having middle back pain on my left side--it's gone this week, but was killer during the holidays. Sitting and standing were the worst... only lying down helped! I stopped going to my acupuncturist b/c it didn't seem to help, and my midwife has recommended a chiropractor. Anyone tried this or learned any amazing (read: practically effortless :)) tricks for helping back pain? Please tell me I'm not the only one whose muscles are not equipped to handle the extra weight?

@mjane: Congratulations! We're having a girl too and are so excited!!
As far as the back pain goes, I've been seeing a chiropractor and it helps tremendously!! I couldn't recommend it enough

@autumnlove: Thank you!!! If you gals lived closer (like.. China haha) I would make you all one!
@Mrs. Lovejoy: Oooh I love your inspiration board! It's so elegant and lovely. We actually had our shower already because we went back home to nyc in december (we live in shanghai). Our friends threw us one since that's the last time we'll be home before our son is due.
@mjane: A GIRL! Congratulations!!!!! I'm so sorry to hear about your back pains, I know for me... putting a pillow between my legs when lying down helps. And sitting, putting a small sofa pillow behind me helped a lot. I hope you get relief soon, back pain hurts so much!

My est. due date is 5/20 and I just found out that I'm expecting a boy! This is my first and I'm both super excited and a bit nervous. Today was a good mail day! The Graham Glider we ordered from West Elm arrived today, along with a care package of newborn clothes from my aunt and my Kate Spade Stevie diaper bag off ebay! I am totally in love with both the glider and the bag already! And I'm excited to start my son's clothing collection too - finally feeling more prepared!

Hi everyone!
Quick update from me: Almost 21 weeks now. We had our anatomy scan a couple of weeks ago and things looked good except that baby had bright bowels-- (echogenic bowels). We have another ultrasound at the end of the month to see how that goes.... wish us luck. We also found out the gender-- actually, I went to an elective ultrasound and found out the gender. Then hubs got a box made with balloons inside-- and we had a mini gender reveal at our house before Christmas. We did google hangout with his siblings and had a couple of friends over. For our parents, we had cakepops made and told them during Christmas dinner. We are so thankful and excited!

@anniegurumi: thank you!! And how fun that you've already had your shower! I had a dream last night about my shower so I'm obviously anticipating it!
@karma: welcome!!! We love exclamation points on this board, so you'll be just fine
@mauri: love that glider and bag - what an exciting day! We've been ordering small things here and there and I love when they come!
@mssally: hooray!! A girl! Congratulations!! There seems to be a good mix of girls, boys and team green on this thread!
We'll have to start up some sort of questionnaire so we can start tracking everyone!

@mauri: Ooooh Kate Spade has CUTE diaper bags!!! My good friend is the head designer there I'm not sure if she designed that one, but she has designed a lot of them!
@autumnlove: Hahaha I would if I lived in America but since I live in Shanghai (and shipping is crazy expensive to America), I doubt anyone would buy. But I have been selling to friends and that has been good!
@mssally: What an adorable reveal! Love it!!! And good luck with the ultrasound at the end of the month. I'll cross my fingers for you.

OK ladies~ found this survey from a different month's board.
How far along? 21W4D
Gender: Girl!
Total weight gain? 5 lbs (though my appetite is picking up steam, so we'll see!)
Maternity clothes? Not a ton yet, but the be band isn't quite cutting it, so I definitely need some more pants.
Stretch marks? So far, none
Belly button (innie/outie)? No change, innie all the way
Sleep? Starting to get better. Sleeping through the night every so often. Lots of pillows are helping.
Best moment this week? Hearing the heartbeat at last week's appointment!
Worst moment this week? Can't say I have one!
Miss anything? Sleeping on my stomach!
Cravings? Ugh.. KFC mashed potatoes.
Most worried about? Figuring out childcare! I really want to go down to part-time after the baby, but I'm scared to broach the topic at work. If I was full-time, we'd probably need to do daycare, but if I only need 2 - 3 days, we could probably swing a nanny/babysitter. Many decisions!
Most excited about? DH being able to feel her kick!
Struggles? Nothing too bad, I'm feeling pretty good. I was struggling with feeling "fat", but now that it is starting to look like a bump, I'm getting more comfortable with it.
Movement? Yes!! Flutters and kicks, but only that I can feel so far.
Nursery progress? We've bought a few things, but still need to paint the walls before we can really start putting things together.
Names picked? Not yet!
Feel free to add anything else you want to this survey!

Worst moment this week? Sciatic is starting to really bother me
Miss anything? A good nights sleep!
Cravings? Chocolate cake with vanilla frosting, or cinnamon buns.
Most worried about? Nothing at the moment
Most excited about? Baby in general! We also have a follow up anatomy scan this Wednesday to peek at things they couldn't see last time.
Struggles? Struggling with unsolicited advice from strangers! Haha
Movement? Yes!! I like watching my belly while he's having a kicking fit. he also makes my iPad move, when it's propped up with my belly.

Names picked? Not yet! But we have some ideas
