I'm off work with an upset tummy today.. got worried & broke out the doppler to have a listen for baby girl. I had a moment when I couldn't find the heartbeat down low, but she was up on my tummy - this is a big moment for me as a plus sized preggo - I heard her THROUGH my belly roll!!!

She also did a little somersault - so I think I felt my first official baby move. Wheee! (I just wish I could feel them more.) Soon, I hope.

@Pumpkinspice: It's definitely looking a lot pointier! Hopefully you'll get a bit of a break in growth soon so you're not too uncomfortable by the end. xx

We have our 19 week scan in a few days (Monday week) and I'm terrified... but excited at the same time.

@Pumpkinspice: I'm so glad. It's nice having buds in this whole thing. Especially since I'm a worry wart.

@Pumpkinspice: Thanks love. I appreciate it! I guess I'm worried since we got the high risk stuff from the bloodwork - baby's growth is always a concern, as are placental issues - and I'm also scared of them finding some other anatomy problem. I'm in a DIG (due in group) for other Australian mums, and LOTS have found problems.. I guess it's just making me nervous.

Pre Thanksgiving bump! 17 weeks!

@autumnlove: are you going to post a post thanksgiving meal bump?? I find I'm so much bigger after a meal, it's insane!!!

Hi gang! I finally got around to registering and joining the April mamas group! Our due date is April 27-ish, so I'll be a little behind most of you gals.

How far along? 17 weeks today

Do you know the gender? If not, when do you expect to find out? Not yet, and will find out in my 20-week US

Any thoughts on names? Aside from throwing around a few names, nothing serious. Have to get a baby name book.

Best/worst moments: Best - realizing how cool it is that I'm growing a little person! Worst - growing pains/achiness and heartburn

Any movement? Some butterfly-like flutters (can't tell if it's gas tho!)

How are you feeling? Generally pretty good although my belly is getting bigger now, and sitting straight makes it feel very crowded inside (need to lean back)

Nursery plans? Will put a crib in the guest room but other than that, no plans. Having the baby will be enough of a project for me. My big hope is to do some long-delayed clean-up of the study/office in hopes of making that room more usable.

Who have you told? Both families, my closest friends, and a few coworkers. I am still trying to figure out how to tell my extended friends. Will probably send out an email.

thank you for setting me straight. somehow i can never seem to remember which week i'm in. (in my pre-natal yoga class, we start by sharing our name & how far along we are, and i'm never quite sure!)

I am positive I have felt movement twice now! I had felt random flutters for a while that I wasn't sure about, but yesterday and today I felt a repetitive, light poking in the same spot. It happens maybe 4 times in a row. I have to be sitting still, and really focusing, but I definitely think its the baby- couldn't be much else (it doesn't resemble anything I've ever felt before- and feels like a little poke or bump from the inside). I am 18 and 1/2 weeks today. Really cool- I can't wait until my husband can feel it!
