@Mrs. Blue: I hear ya. My u/s appointment is on August 21, and I know I will just be a ball of nerves.

I just try to remember that as long as I am eating and sleeping, there is literally nothing I can do, either way.

@hergreenapples: Have you mentioned wonky cycles? that's how I got my early u/s the first time,!

@sslm: Hahaha..nope, because that would be a lie in my case! I've been wondering if I'm just really honest about this anxiety (which is so odd, I am not an anxious person usually) if she'll take pity on me and see an u/s as a way of reducing the stress I'm experiencing.

I also have an appointment with my naturopath on Monday and am going to mention the anxiety to her and see if she can recommend anything (maybe acupuncture) to help me relax.

@hergreenapples: I would think if you talk about your anxiety it would be fine! Lots of people go for dating u/s worth a shot!!

I went to my therapist today and it went well. She was so positive about everything!

@sslm: So glad to hear that your therapist helped ease your mind. That is great news

@hergreenapples: Thanks, it was good. She works out of the fertility centre, so knows the whole deal. I probably won't be going back to see her again unless something bad happens... she's a bit pricey, haha.

@sslm: We'll be your replacement therapists! I seriously cannot say enough times how thankful I am to have ladies to go through this with who are right where I am in the process. It makes me feel less crazy!

@Mrs. Blue: Yes - thanks goodness for all of the HB ladies!

I did have one real-life friend who had been through all this before and got her BFP the day before me - she was wonderful to talk to. Unfortunately, she miscarried last weekend (which obviously has not been good for my state of mind and anxiety), and while she insists she still wants to hear all about my pregnancy, I would feel like an ass bringing it up. So thankful for the Hellobee community!

@sslm glad the sore boobs are back!

For me the anxiety really lifted when I hit 6 wks. And with the symptoms hitting full force it was easier to have faith. Wk 5 with no symptoms made me a ball of nerves!! I think it is perfectly normal to worry.... this is something we want so badly but have no control over.

Well ladies... we had our ultrasound today!!!! I teared up when he showed me the little heart beat. Was amazing..... the baby is so tiny!!! And there is only one *phew*. They dated me at 6w3 but since i was charting I think i will go with my dates! (6w5d) lol We tell our parents tomorrow!!

@AprilFool: Yay! It must have been such a relief to see your little bean on the u/s. Glad to hear all is well.

Yes, I am devastated for my friend. This was her third m/c and fourth pregnancy (she has an awesome little guy at home). So unfair

Hello my fellow April ladies! How is everyone feeling today?

4wks, 4 days and I've only had cramping and crazy baby bloat....but today, it looks like the BBs  have gotten bigger and feel tender. I keep peeing on sticks and temping bc I still can't believe it!

I've continued to go to the gym and take dance classes (hip hop!), but have been making sure I don't get too hot...and drink water every 5 minutes! And this weekend we'll be going o the outside lands music festival, so the lil peanut will have lots of music to grow along to!

And, we scheduled our first dr's appt! September 6th @ 11:30am for our first ultrasound (I'll be 8wks by then)

How are those symptoms, ladies? Do you keep POAS too?  And what are you, the hubs and the lil peanut doing this weekend?

@hergreenapples: sorry about your friend, that's really hard

@Mrs. Blue: Thanks!! I need all the therapy I can get, I'm a basket case.

    @AprilFool: Heartbeat! Yay!!

We are taking it easy this weekend. Just getting ready to go out to lunch after bathing the dog! We'll probably go to the in laws tomorrow for supper as per our usual Sunday routine

I'm feeling maybe slightly nauseous today. We'll see if that turns into anything as I am approaching the 6 week mark (5w5d). I feel weird hoping for sickness but I feel like it'll make me feel more secure...

How's everyone doing today? I've started feeling a bit nauseous. Hoping that's a good sign!

@sslm: I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow. I'm feeling pretty good. Sore boobs (MIL hugged me last night and I just about screamed), tired, got up to pee FOUR times last night. I feel like I've had a few tiny waves of nausea, but no real m/s yet (I would feel a lot less anxious if I had m/s!).

hey april baby mamas! i'm officially 5 weeks and am bracing my self for the M/S and fatigue...so far the girls have gotten uber sore. oooof.

i'm so excited for our first doctor's visit...sept 6th couldn't come soon enough!

in other news, i'm compulsively adding to our amazon baby registry/wish list. yes, i'm baby crazy.

how are you ladies feeling today?? is anyone else checking out baby stuff already? or struggling to keep their mouth shut about this incredible news??

Hey, ladies! I'm definitely have some icky morning/all day sickness. Mostly, I just feel queasy all day long, but every now and than I lose my cookies. I ordered a breakfast taco this evening, and they put bacon in it. I was sooo hungry and so I ate it anyway. Definitely threw up within 10 minutes. Grossssss. Other symptoms are frequent urination and very tender breasts that are already outgrowing my bras.

I'm going to do a post soon about doctor stuff, but in summary, I switched to the doctor I wanted to go to originally (yay!!) and we're scheduled for our first ultrasound a week from Friday! I'm dying for it to get here!

    Hey girls

7 weeks yesterday. Still feeling the m/s and oh so hungry! Cant. stop. eating! We spilled the beans to our families on Sunday. Everyone was *so* excited! We gave my dad an early fathers day gift with the card signed by us and the peanut. Took a min but they got it

@sylvie_b what are you adding to your registry? I created one but haven't added anything yet. Not sure where to start and waiting to see what family hand me downs we get.

@mrs blue yay for ultrasound! The throwing up doesn't sound like much fun. Soooo glad I haven't done that yet!!

  19. sslm

    cantaloupe / 6397 posts

@sylvie_b: we are still so cautious. It's kind of sad really, I have no desire to tell anyone!!!

@Mrs. Blue: Yay for an ultrasound!!!! I'm glad you've switched doctors

@AprilFool: I'm hungry too. It's weird bc I'm also queasy all the time...

@Mrs. Blue: So glad you're going to get an u/s sooner rather than later. Yay for your new doctor!

@AprilFool: I'm also super hungry, and if I don't eat the nausea kicks in. Thankfully it's been mild so far, but I definitely have to eat every 2.5-3 hours.

I'm officially 6 weeks today. I had an appointment with my naturopath last night and it eased some of my fears. I had been worried that I had low progesterone, so my naturopath had me do some saliva hormone testing during my last luteal phase (i.e. the one during which I got pregnant) and I got the results yesterday: all within normal range! That helped relieve some of my anxiety.

But then, last night, I woke up in the middle of the night and noticed by boobs weren't nearly as sore as they have been and I kind of freaked out (even though I know @sslm: started a thread about this very thing last week and was assured it's totally normal for breast soreness to come and go). I then proceeded to have a dream in which I miscarried, so today I feel anxious again. *sigh*

    Hi, you guys!

I'm still not feeling much of anything. Bloated and crampy, but boobs feel normal and no nausea. A bit scared things aren't progressing. I'm only 4 weeks + 2 days.

@jaguar: Some of my symptoms have waned over the past couple days, but I did a bunch of googling (bad, I know!) and saw that it seems to be very typical at this early stage of pregnancy. Hang in there and keep thinking positive thoughts. We are all rooting for you and Baby Jaguar!

  23. Mrs. Blue

    blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts

@jaguar: So excited to have you join us! I didn't have a lot of symptoms, other than being tired, at that point. Also, I second what @hergreenapples: said about symptoms coming and going sometimes. I'm in my 7th week now, and unfortunately, my symptoms are much more constant! Just enjoy right now and the fresh thrill of being knocked up! Maybe you'll feel good the whole time and be one of the lucky ones!

@jaguar: I forgot to say I was really crampy off and on for the first couple of weeks while my uterus tried to figure out what the hay was happening to it!

I'm joining the April group. Had my second ultrasound today and was at 6 weeks 6 days, so my new due date is April 4th. Had a heartbeat and everything looks good so far.

Still super nervous because this is my third pregnancy this year, so the first heartbeat really isn't this big "hooray" like it should be. But I'm going back in 2 weeks for another u/s.

    Hey, guys!

    How is everyone feeling?

I had my first OB/GYN appointment today, and I think it went okay. I know I shouldn't say just okay in part because I got to see Baby M (the initial of our last name) on an ultrasound, hear his/her heartbeat and got little picture of him/her. My approximate due date is 3/31, so I'm going to still hang out with you guys, if that's okay.

This appointment was actually not with my usual doctor since she was booked solid, but I liked this new doctor. She was cool.

The things she brought up that could be problems are actually things that I've known about before, namely my fibroids. I have HUMUNGOUS ones, but they're not on my uterus. They're hanging off ovaries and such. Since I'm Black, I'm actually more likely to get them, for them to be larger, etc. The crazy thing is if you saw me in person you probably wouldn't know. All of my friends ask me how to get a flatter stomach. Anyway, there's the possibility of lots of pain and/or other scary stuff like pre-term labor. Great.

While I've read enough scary stories online about this, it didn't make it much fun to hear it. It's put me in a bad mood. It just frustrates me that I can eat well, exercise, maintain a healthy weight and be otherwise healthy, and there's still something wrong. I've been telling myself that just because there are risks doesn't mean that anything will necessarily happen, .

Oh, yeah, and I'm old. Although not old by NYC standards :), just old universally (I'll be 35 next month). I get to go to a genetic counselor. Yay.

Sorry for sarcasm and the long post. I am happy that everything seems to be going ok so far. I just feel a little defective.

@blackbird: @BKCaribBaby: Well, congrats on good ultrasounds! I'm so sorry you're both having to deal with other factors! Sending you both lots of good thoughts!

@blackbird: I'll be with you in the "extra ultrasound in a few weeks" camp as I go back in a few weeks for one. I'm sure you're not defective and neither am I. Let us know how it goes.

    @Mrs. Blue: Thanks!

Lol actually i have a genetic mutation, a hormonal defect, and an inability to absorb folic acid, so i'm a liiiiittle bit broken. But not *too* broken to get pregnant, apparently And keep my chin up, ha.

Good luck to you, jaguar! You'll get the test results tomorrow, right?

  33. sslm

@jaguar: I guess the only thing you can do is wait to cross that bridge when you get to it, right? My therapist says the sooner I accept I have absolutely no control over any of this, the better. Try not to worry before you have to. I say that, but I realize it's nearly impossible. When will you get the results?

  34. jaguar

    pomegranate / 3764 posts

@sslm: they said hopefully this afternoon. Same day would be good for my sanity.

Does anyone have a good beta range for 17dpo?
