We had our car seats installed too! And I had my brother's wedding yesterday, so I am EXHAUSTED today. Look at my sweet hubs!

@autumnlove: I got the city touring one...in an orange print. Bit of an impulse buy, but I'm excited!

Swimming sounds amazing!
We're supposed to meet with our doula today--the snow is definitely sticking. All we have going on is a little light cleaning, assemble the PnP....and I want DH to install our car seats. I'm 39 weeks, that shit needs to happen NOW

@blackbird: We installed our seats this morning! Due date twin!! Are you ready? I am

Here's the 36 week shot, which I sneakily took two days early while I was actually out of my pj's!

I wish people would stop telling me exactly how much longer I have left. 1) Trust me.... I am aware!! and 2) This baby will be here when she gets here and counting down the last 7 days is going to kill me when we get to 0 and she is not here. I am so irritable and done being pregnant.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@cheert16, I am except for the seats lol! We got 10+" of snow today so we couldn't pull the cars out! Yikes. But otherwise, we are ready!

@jaguar: you look so pretty!!!!
@AprilFool: I hear ya. That's very annoying. I'm getting really tired of the "any day now!" Comments. I'm only 38 weeks tomorrow!!!
It's my last 3 days of work! I am so excited to be done. Taking the bus is wearing on me.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@jaguar: You and your DH are adorable and you look super glowy!
@sslm: I have four days of work and it seems like forever. I kind of want to put a bounceback on my work email saying, "I'm going on leave at the end of the week, so don't send me anymore work." Hahahaha!
DH's three sisters threw me a really lovely shower yesterday. They even coordinated it around the nursery colour scheme. Here are the gorgeous cookies my SIL's super talented friend made as favours:

@hergreenapples: those cookies are adorable!!
I am working till LO is born.... so hopefully he comes this weekend, becasue I cant deal with work anymore- i am just over it!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@hergreenapples: Haha, yeah, I SO wanted to do something like that too! Luckily no one has really been giving me anything. I'm riding the wave at this point...
I had my 38 week appointment today! Yesterday I called concerned that my water had possibly broken, SPOILER alert, it hasn't! Haha. My midwife did check to make sure and it looks like I am just really "dischargey"... gross. I also had my GBS test done, and since she was "up there anyways" she checked me and I am not at all dilated or anything. She totally burst my bubble since I have been cramping and feeling like baby is super low. This is why I didn't want any checks!!!!!
Anyways, I have my next 3 weekly appointments booked now. Please god don't let me need that last one!!!
Here's my bump this week!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Omg those cookies!!!! Precious!!!
Sslm, you are soooooo close!!!!!
Seriously if I wasn't working from home, I'd be done. I'm going to work the rest of this week (40 weeks Saturday) and maybe Monday through wedn next week from home (I hope I don't go that long), then I'm done. I have another check tomorrow, so hopefully there is some progress. I hope I have, max, a week left! My dr let DH know that if I go overdue into April, I need some diamonds lol.
39 and some change days over here! Nothing but yoga pants, ladies.
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@blackbird: haha- I hear you on the yoga pants. I put on jeans for my appointment yesterday..I was in them for like 3 hours tops, and regretted it the whole time! Fortunately I can wear leggings and dresses to work
@sslm: I was tempted to have them check this week, but I resisted. You are so close...and don't forget you can go from 0 to 4 I just a few hours!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@AprilFool: I hear you! I think people mean well, but it drives me crazy too. I KNOW I'M HUGE, but I'm only 36 weeks! Still time for bubba to cook, if she wants to.
@sslm: Thanks hon! You must be stoked to almost be finished with work. You look amazing! I'm avoiding internals as long as possible...
@hergreenapples: Ah, makeup is a beautiful thing! Those cookies are heavenly, I would love to snack on them right now!!!
@blackbird: Rock those yoga pants. You are SO close!!!

Whew - it's been SOooo long since I've been back here. Have missed you, my Apr 2013 ladies!!
It's been a lot of stuff going on - out of town visitor one weekend, then, sadly, hubby's grandmother passed away another, and this past weekend just recovering. We flew out to SF for part of a week (my OB said no more traveling past 3/22, and we got back just before then). The flight actually went better than I expected. My feet got pretty swollen but I opted for the "even more legroom" seats on Jetblue, which saved me.
I've been feeling ok lately - just passed the 35-week mark. It's funny, in my pre-natal yoga class, there are ladies in there at week 20 and it seems SO long ago and just yesterday at the same time. I feel really heavy lately.
My coworkers tell me NOW I really look pregnant. I was offered up a subway seat for the 3rd time today. So exciting!! I'm attaching a 35-wk photo.
In my visit to the OB on Friday, he gave me a vaginal exam & told me I was 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced, which sounded exciting b/c I could 'go" at any time, but I guess I could stay like this for a while, too?? After that, I was having mild cramps all weekend and wondering what was going on! I have my 36-week ultrasound tomorrow AM so will get more info then - exciting!
Baby is elbowing and kicking the heck out of me and hurting my uterus! She's certainly strong! Plus I've got so much lightning crotch, as you ladies have described. I'm so thankful for getting all these "what to expect" tips.
We had to postpone the family shower b/c of DH's grandma, and it's scheduled now for Apr 13. Talk about cutting it close!
A few weeks ago, I reported to my OB that I was feeling really ill in the AM. I didn't realize, but apparently I was eating too many carbs. I was starting to feel really shaky, dizzy, weak, head-pounding. I guess the cereal caused my blood sugar to shoot up, then I was over-producing insulin which was making my body all crazy! Protein for breakfast is the name of the game now. (I miss cereal!) I don't have GD, thankfully, but I still have to watch what I eat.
We just had the Conversation with my rents about how they'll be involved at the birth. We didn't want them at the hospital and certainly not in the delivery room - they would stress me out plus I don't want them to be sitting in that depressing waiting room for hours and hours. We said we'd love for them to come and visit us at home after the birth. And for now, I don't need my mom staying with us here in NYC (they live in CT about 1.5 hrs away). My parents are pretty traditional so I was worried they'd have lots of expectations & being offended, but it went well, thankfully. We have to have the same conversation with my in-laws but they're more easy-going & will probably be cool with what we've decided.
I'm kinda "done" with work as well (although I want to work until the end). I can't believe I have possibly 4 more weeks. Ooog.
@blackbird - I'm so impressed you cooked so much stuff & put it in the freezer! Gosh. And LOVE the pics of your nursery (and cat!!).
I'm sorry to hear about DH's military training. What terrible timing! Sheesh.
@hergreenapples - I love that they can tell if a baby has hair in an ultrasound! And WHOA on the shower cookies! Those are really little works of art!
@silva - congrats on the matching! wow - what a stressful thing to be waiting for while you're pregnant!
@pumpkinspice - congrats on your baby passing the BPP!
@sylvie_b - um, your nursery is SO cute!! that stuffed whale is killing me.
@SSLM - so last week, I got a tiny bit of leakage on my bra! It was so weird & kind of cool at the same time.
@autumnlove - i don't think there's anything cuter than baby laundry! Everytime I do a load I have to show my DH and we crack up.
@jaguar - you and your hubby are so cute in that wedding pic! wow - you make a beautiful couple! (I can't even imagine getting dolled up for wedding at this late stage!)

Had our 36 weeks appt today and was told we will be induced on April 8th! We will be 37 weeks 2 days at that point. We are so excited to know when she will be here and to be able to plan. It's only 10 days til we meet our baby girl! So, excited!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
@nycbee, welcome back! You look fabulous and you have really popped. and yay for the talk going well with the parents. i'm still kind of avoiding having to tell mine that they are now going to have to wait at least a week+ to come visit us, no matter what they want to do. And i'm walking around at 1.5cm and 75% effaced, but no baby yet
@pumpkinspice, YAY for official dates! if i go overdue, my induction will be that week, too!
My due date's in two days and i'm like...ahhhh, how late will she be?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
Ladies, you are SO CLOSE. I feel like I'll be pregnant forever at this point.
Though I DO think I've been gradually losing my mucous plug this last week, so the doc thinks my cervix might be starting to wake up. Good sign? Hope so!
nectarine / 2591 posts
@jaguar: They really do mean well and I know they are just excited so I really should be less of grinch haha You and your husband are adorable.
@hergreenapples: Those are some amazing cookies!
@Pumpkinspice: Yay for a date. Am jealous!
@nycbee: we had that conversation about labour too. My parents were like 'whatever you want' his mum seemed a little taken aback that she couldn't wait at the hospital and we would be turning our phones off. I think parents forget how personal a thing to do this is.
@blackbird: I have 3 days to go and *know* this bubba will be late. My guess is a week but we shall see. Have been repeating this to everyone who says not long now. haha
AFM - Hippo feet have found me. Luckily I haven't needed to wear anything but flip flops since finishing work. My face has started to chunk up too At least I made it this far. Baby has started to engage.... no cervical check so no idea. Here is my 39 wk pic

Hey, April mamas! I just wanted to check in with all of you. Being a mommy is amazing! I'm obsessed with my boys. I can't wait for you all to join me on the other side. I'll be stalking this thread for updates during all my nighttime feeds when I start cruise the boards trying to stay awake! I'm so excited that it's almost April; good luck, everyone!
Here are some pics of our little men from the last day or two.

So gorgeous @Mrs. Blue!
@AprilFool: Looking AMAZING for 39 weeks!!!
As for me, after yesterday's mucousy discharge, I've had cramps ALL DAY today. Nothing consistent or anything, but I'm really hoping these are signs that my body is preparing for pre-labour over the coming weeks. Ouch!

They are SO CUTE, Mrs. Blue! I still cannot believe there are TWO of them

@Pumpkinspice: you get to meet that baby so soon! how exciting!
@jaguar: I'm 37 on Saturday- and it feels like I'm going to be pregnant for FOREVER. It will be hard to be one of the last April moms, I think! I'm trying to mentally prepare myself to go all the way to May, but still keep getting my hopes up that maybe things will be prompt (or even a bit early!).
@Mrs. Blue: such sweet babies! you will be the expert for us!
@jaguar: so what I'm gathering from your second post is that you, in fact, will have a baby soon. I will still be pregnant until at least the fourth of July.

Oh, insomnia. I have spent at least 2 hours wide awake every night this week. I wake up sweating, too! I'm trying to be positive and complain less because I still have several weeks to go, but man- these hormones are making it tough!

April mamas!! Looks like I am def going to be joining you- went to the dr yesterday and looks like my little man is playing hard to get and is going to be late. They think significantly late!! Yikes- hope you guys don't mind me joining you!!

Hey mamas! Hope everyone is feeling good....the bump photos are so lovely (even though we feel so swollen and THIS BIG).
We started having our non stress tests at the hospital this week, since I had a slightly low PAPP-A result during my 2nd NT scan. The little dude looks healthier than ever and passed with flying colors....but we have to go 2x a week until he arrives, just in case. Ooof! And at yesterday's weekly OB checkup, she announced that I'm 1cm dilated, cervix is nice and soft and the little dude has gotten lower.
We've ordered and received everything else from our registry/baby list this week, including all the breastfeeding and post partum recovery stuff (thank goodness for those HB guides or I would've never known about all that stuff!!!). Diapers, baby toiletries, bottles, pump, cloth wipes and everything else is washed and put away.
We're in napa/yountville this weekend for our babymoon and it's been so relaxing so far. The food and wine have been heaven!
What's everyone up to this Easter weekend????
@cheert16: welcome, my dear!!! Hope your Lil one arrives soon
@Mrs. Blue: your little men are more handsome than ever! Can't wait to share PP experiences/ life in a few weeks!
@Silva: hang in there, mama. I've been up at night too....reading on my iPad has helped me fall back asleep. But at least this is our bodies' way of getting us ready for motherhood.
@AprilFool: you look amazing! Hope your LO arrives soon!
@hergreenapples: hope your shower was perfect....those cookies are the cutest!!
@blackbird: you look SO awesome, mama. You're SO close!!
@nycbee: you and your adorable bump look great, my dear! Glad to hear you're feeling better and am excited for your upcoming ultrasound....share some sweet photos if you can!
@Pumpkinspice: yay! Baby girl will be arriving soon!!! So excited for you, mama!
@sslm: I feel you on the water breaking anxiety....I was positive something weird was happening down there but nope! Love your bump photo, lady!!!

@sylvie_b: You look fantastic! I had so much fun getting my completion orders from our registry. I'm sure it will get old, but right now doing baby laundry is the best thing ever

EEK! It's April!
Hope everyone had a nice Easter weekend.
I finished work on Thursday and just wanted to have the weekend to relax. Now I just get to sit around and wait for baby. It all seems very surreal.
Everyone keeps saying to me, "You must be SO excited!" and I must admit that while I am 100% looking forward to meeting this babe, I'm not sure that what I'm feeling is excitement. It's more a whole jumble of emotions including excitement, anticipation, and fear of the unknown.
I feel kind of terrible even admitting this, but at the same time, for me it's very difficult to get excited about something for which I have no point of reference. I know the coming weeks are going to bring incredible highs and lows and I think I'm afraid of letting myself get too excited and then being let down. Sorry if I'm a downer.
