@hergreenapples: Hooray for head down! I got really anxious about position for a while, but we've been sticking head down. Hopefully your babe will stick that way, too!
@AprilFool: I am really, really jealous that you are done with work. I need to work until at least 39 weeks if possible, and will try to just go up until I pop, I think. Every day is a struggle now though. I'm at least starting to transition my clients, but I still have sessions through the first week in April. I am a zombie, and being a total slacker!
@jaguar: We have a 36-week ultrasound scheduled for a week from Monday, and I can't wait. Our office has crappy machines though, so no cute 3d images for me. But it will be fun to see the babe again, and I'm excited to have them guess about the size!

@hergreenapples, yay for head down!!! And for hair for you and @Jag! Ours has hair, too (AMAZING what they can see in the scans) but not sure how much. DH thinks it'll be super blonde.
But yea, these last 2.5 weeks of work suuuuuck, haha. I'm trying to wrap everything up but it's hard to mentally be here!

@Silva: I think baby's sticking that way if only because there's now nowhere else for baby to go! As my midwife said yesterday, "There's a lot of baby in there. You're not going to have a small baby, you know." EEK!
@blackbird: It's crazy that they can see the hair, eh?! I'm still having a hard time grasping the concept that there's a real life human growing inside me. I don't think I'll be able to fully get it until baby is born.
I took the day off work yesterday to go to my ultrasound and midwife appointment (if we have multiple medical appointments in a day we're allowed to take a sick day). I also got my hair cut and gave into my Type A-ness by doing things like: purchasing bins to organize the baby's dresser, getting the baby's closet organized, writing all the thank you notes for my shower, and my personal favourite, completing the address labels for the birth announcements we'll send after baby arrives.
I'm off again tomorrow and my mum and I are going to finish up the freezer meals for postpartum.
I can't believe that April is only 2.5 weeks away. OMG!

I totally feel the same way. Like, i know there's a baby in there....but it's just surreal, I guess. I was thinking about it on the way to work this morning

I just want April to be here already!!!!
I'm starting to think more about what the baby will look like... all babies are so different, and I think she'll look just like her daddy.
I had another midwife visit today - blood pressure is creeping back up & slight traces of protein & ketones in urine sample. I'm supposed to keep on resting and have another visit booked with the OB next Friday.

Hey ladies! Doing a little check in.
I came home Tuesday. Have been trying to relax at home. With a 9 and 6yr old at home relaxing is easier said than done.
I am able to wear my wedding rings again and I have veins in my feet lol Yay for higher BP meds and rest making the swelling go down.
I get another NST Monday and then see my OB on Thursday. Need to make it another couple weeks and I'm thinking we are good if I can keep this up.

@jaguar: We saw these big pouty lips on our u/s the other day...those are definitely DH's! I hear you on wanting it to be April. Such a strong sense of anticipation at the moment.
@Pumpkinspice: Glad to hear you're back home and feeling better. Keep baking, Baby Pumpkinspice!
I'm off work again today for a day of cooking with my mum. We're making chicken and broccoli casserole, enchiladas, egg casserole, green smoothies and lactation cookies and adding them to my freezer stash.
DH is going away to a bachelor party this weekend (he's the best man in his best friend's wedding) and I have a close friend coming from out of town to stay with me. I'm not feeling super hostess-y at the moment, so our plans include take out, netflix, cupcakes and lots of chatting
Happy Friday/weekend!

@Jaguar & PumpkinSpice, I hope you girls can get some resting in and keep the babies baking! My BP is also up, but in the mid-130's, yet there's no protein in my urine and at 38 weeks, doc isn't concerned. But it's up from 118, so it's definitely up.
All your freezer food sounds great! And your girl weekend sounds fantastic! I also have a relatively low key weekend, but i have a short paper to write for school, yuck.

So- today is Match Day for med. students. We find out where my husband's residency will be sometime between noon and 1:00. We're both feeling pretty anxious. We hope to stay where we are- our second and third choices are great locations but require us moving away from all our family and friends (not to mention moving with a 5 week old). I'm most worried about my husband being disappointed if he doesn't match at his first choice. Ugh!
Can't wait until its over and we just know! Then we can start looking for apartments and packing, or we can finally start nesting!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Oh that's so exciting, Silva!!!!! I hope you get your first choice! What residency type program is he wanting to get into?
cantaloupe / 6017 posts
@blackbird: Thanks, he is going into pediatrics. We know he matched somewhere in a pediatric program- we just find out where today. Ahhh!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Oh that's so awesome!!!! I always thought it would be really hard to be matched into a program you didn't *really* want. Hopefully the location is the clincher!

Gah, 41ish days left! I can't believe it!!! I hope everyone is doing well!
@Silva: Congrats!!! My cousin was matched with his#1 choice too!

@hergreenapples: oh I need to add lactation cookies to my stash!!! Do you have a recipe to share?
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@sslm: Sure thing. I made these...they're in the oven right now! http://www.organicmamacafe.com/2012/07/flourless-lactation-cookies-monster-cookie-style/
ETA: Just ate one to test them out (along with a cup of red raspberry leaf tea) and it was delicious!

You're inspiring me - I might just make tomorrow my freezer baking day! We only just got our new fridge/freezer (the old one is empty in the garage now) so we have LOTS of space for meals.

35wks4d . t minus 17 days until maternity leave!
this week's not so good stuff:
- i am one of the 75% of pregnant women with hippo feet. UGH. i took a nice long epsom salt bath tonight and will keep legs elevated.
- I gained 6lbs since my last ob visit 2 wks ago....mostly water retention (hippo feet!)
- I desperately need a pedicure! Oof!!
i feel SO BIG.
this week's good stuff:
- napa (yountville) babymoon booked for easter weekend!
- little dude's laundry is done and put away
- nursery bookcase (oeuf mini library) arriving next week! Then the nursery will be all done
- I finally upgraded (bye bye android phone!) and got the iphone5 today.....it'll take lots of photos and videos this year of our little guy
- our newborn parenting class is this weekend!
- little guy is moving a lot every day and the hubs gets so excited/weirded out watching him move
what were your highlights this week, April ladies?
And let's see some new bump photos, mamas!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@sylvie_b: I have the hippo feet as well as cankles. Ugh. I think that upset me more than anything else body related!!!!
I had my 36 week appointment on Thursday which went well. Baby is very low in my pelvis, which my midwife said certainly couldn't hurt my chances of a speedier, not too late labor. Let's hope she's right because if I go 10 days late she won't be able to deliver my baby. That would be disappointing for sure!!!
My blood pressure was good and baby sounded great, and is apparently feeling like a pretty normal size. I was measuring right on 36 weeks so that's cool. Yet again I had a contraction while she was feeling around... I am hoping this also leads me to an on time and speedy labor... wishful thinking, I know!! haha.
My shower is today so I am pretty excited. I have been stalking my registry like mad, but so far only a couple of things have been bought, so I am kind of expecting a lot of clothes... oh well. We may try to return some of it because there is literally no more room in the nursery!!! The closet and the dresser are PACKED.
Happy weekend everyone!!

@sylvie_b: Sounds like you are doing awesome and staying on top of things! You look beautiful.
I was beside myself with exhaustion after yesterday's day of cooking. Bless my mother for cleaning my house while she was here too. By the time she left and DH got home from work I was in tears for no apparent reason other than just being so darn tired. Glad to have gotten so much done though, and to have gotten 10 hours of sleep...feeling much better this morning
Here I am yesterday at 36w3d (pre-marathon cooking session):
ETA: Damn you, sideways photo that refuses to turn upright!

@Silva: So exciting! Any chance to see the baby is fine by me.
@hergreenapples: I said I was going to start freezer meals today... but I'm planted on the couch instead. Slacker. You look great! Loving the stripes.
@blackbird: You make sure you rest too! xx
@sylvie_b: I hope your last days at work go by quickly. You're amazing for working so far up!
@sslm: Hope you had a lovely shower hon.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Oh yeah, i have a 3 hour spa day today!!!! Facial, foot massage, and whole body massage. I can't freaking wait.
pomegranate / 3398 posts
Well ladies I have yet another stress situation.....baby girl didn't pass her NST today so my BPP and Growth scan have been moved up to tomorrow instead of Thursday when they were originally scheduled. They told me the NST looked reassuring but wanted the other tests sooner. I'm sure it's fine because if not I would have been readmitted into L&D instead of sent home but seriously I'm getting stressed to the max with having one issue after another.
we are 34 weeks 2 days. Have to be 35 weeks to be able to deliver in our hospital and not the specialist hospital an hour away...I'm scared they are gonna wanna take her soon and I'm scared how she will do. It all boils down to being scared.

@jaguar: lovely as usual!
@sslm: hope you enjoyed your shower!
