@AprilFool: Love all the pics! You look great!!
@hergreenapples: Thanks!!
Had a growth scan, bio physical profile and NST today. Baby girl never does what she's supposed to on the NST so we had to rely on the BPP to give us good results or we were off to the birth center for monitoring. She passed with the BPP so all was well.
She's measuring 36 weeks and 6LBS!!! I'm supposedly only 32 and a half weeks!

@blackbird: lol Yeah! I told them I'm only 30 and would like to be able to use my lady parts again so they need to get her out before she's so big that she tears me apart lol

@Pumpkinspice: How is your GD? I have been slipping up with my diet and I need to get back on track!

hahaha, @pumpkinspice. EXACTLY! Hopefully their measurement is off! I know it's not uncommon!

@autumnlove: I'm on insulin 4 times a day and I forget a lot to actually take my readings but all in all it's been well controlled on the insulin.
They said bigger babies is just the way it goes with GD no matter how controlled it is.
I've never really monitored exactly what I ate. All in moderation. I've only gained 8lbs now so they are ok with what all I'm doing lol

@blackbird: lol My DH was like OMG did you really just say that??? Umm hells yeah I did. I'm too young for that nonsense. lol
LOL Yeah if she's that big I'm not upset about gaining 8lbs.

How's everyone feeling now that due dates are starting to loom closer?
I'm 33 weeks + 2 days, and REALLY feeling this home stretch hitting me now. Back sore, ribs still burning, pelvic aching & a sore, tight belly that is SO heavy.
A friend of mine just had her bub at 38 weeks & now I'm crossing fingers and toes that we might get lucky & go a teeny bit early too. I'm exhausted!

Okay, I'm so behind, but all of the pics on the previous page look amazing! We have some lovely April mamas and some really cute nurseries! Love it!
As for hospital bag, mine has been packed for a couple weeks "just in case." For clothes, I tried to keep everything super loose in case we end up with a c-section. I did put in a pair of nursing pajamas and then a couple of nursing tanks and some super baggy sweatpants.
I had my regular OB appt today. I'm not dilated yet, but my cervix was soft and 50% effaced, so at least there is some sign that my body is starting to prepare. We have our final ultrasound Friday and meet with our high-risk doctor to decide whether to do a c-section or a vaginal breech delivery. I just can't decide what I think is best, so I'm anxious to talk to him more about our choices. After that appointment, they will schedule us for NEXT WEEK!!! Holy moly, I'm going to be a mom next week!
I finished work last week, and this week has been positively glorious in comparison. I wish I could have done this the whole time!

@Pumpkinspice: my bubba weighs the same but we are 35 wks so i am not concerned. lol Hopefully she has done most of her growing or comes early for your sake.
@jaguar: im with you on the the pains. work is especially hard. just standing gets difficult! and oh the heavy belly. I used to weigh this before losing a heap of weight and it feels so different. While it would be nice if she came early I am counting on her coming late. A friend of mine was so convinced she was going to go early that when it came to due date she was more than over it. She's still waiting
@sslm: so glad your placenta moved and you don't have to have a c section
@hergreenapples: fingers crossed you're right and baby has flipped.

@jaguar: I'm starting to feel time slow down a lot. My work days are so boring and slow! It feels like the next 4-5 weeks are going to feel like an eternity. I have all of the same pains too! I really need to be done working...
@Mrs. Blue: wow I can't believe it's going to happen next week!!! I am so excited for you
@AprilFool: thanks! It's such a relief!!!
This weekend we're having my car detailed and then attempting to install the carseat. Our city is pretty lame and the police/fire department no longer check them. There is only one place to have it inspected, it's a non-profit and they hold clinics once a month and space is apparently limited, and that's next weekend!! Hopefully we get in, otherwise I guess we'll just try to make sure the seat is good and tight!!
Our neighbors have graciously lent us a ton of baby girl clothes, 6 bins!!! So we need to sort through that and pick out what we want. Also up this weekend, packing the hospital bag!!
@hergreenapples: since you have a mw and hope to go home after 3 hours, what are you packing in your bag? Are you packing as if you'd stay longer? I'm just not sure what to do.
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@AprilFool: I think about the aches and pains ans heaviness from a weight loss perspective. I gained some weight back after we got married, and this has made me think so many times about how much better I would probably feel in non-pregnant life if I weren't carrying around a bunch of extra pounds. Not that all of the aches and pains of pregnancy are solely from the extra weight, but still interesting to think about!
@sslm: I LOVE getting bins of baby clothes! It's like Christmas! I wish we knew more people that had little boys.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@sslm: I plan to pack enough for a 24 hour postpartum stay. I'd like to stay for only three-ish hours after the birth, but who knows if that will work out, so I'll be prepared to stay longer. And, if something were to happen that would require us to stay even longer, then DH or my mum could go home and bring me more stuff, as needed.

@mrsblue, WOOHOO NEXT WEEK! I can't believe it's already here!!!!!
So i was really feeling all these aches and pains a couple weeks ago and suddenly, it seems like week 36+ has been very kind to me. I was hurting more in month 8 than I am in month 9! A bunch of people have commented that I've dropped, which, I would think, would mean more pelvic pain? My 36 week cervical check shows absolutely nothing going on, though. She's cozy in there, that's for sure.
The swelling is nuts at this point, though.

So, I've always heard women say that you get to a point in your pregnancy where you're just done. Since getting pregnant, I haven't really understood that, as I've been blessed with an easy pregnancy. Never understood it until yesterday, that is. Last night, while laying on the couch like a beached whale, I said to DH, "OK, I get it! I'm done now!"
I've still been feeling pretty well. Not too tired, no lower back pain, no swelling, but it seems to be going downhill. I felt fine for most of the day yesterday (but knew I'd overdone it a little at the gym the night before). After work I got changed for the gym and then attempted to walk to my car and with each step felt a nasty pinching pain in my cervix. I called off my trip to the gym and spent the rest of the evening dealing with this "lightning crotch," a baby who would NOT STOP MOVING, and then proceeded to get the most uncomfortable sleep. I swear that my belly is lower this morning...so maybe something was really happening in there.
Anyhow, I'm waving the white flag: I'm ready whenever you are, baby!

@Mrs. Blue: OMG Next week!!!!1 Eeeeeekkkkkk
@blackbird: Yep swelling is crazy town for me too!
@hergreenapples: I feel you on the being done part. 33 weeks tomorrow and I think with all the high risk crap I've dealt with and now how uncomfortable I am I've just had it. As soon as it's safe for her to come she can exit and I'll be ok with that!
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Hergreenapples, oh I hear you on the crotch pain. I had that for so long, I think I just got used to it! I took a lot of hot baths and that helped a lot!
I'm not near as miserable as I thought I'd be by now! I find myself getting more anxious and excited though! And the closer I get to the end, the less concerned I get about childbirth and labor. Meh, bring it.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@hergreenapples: @blackbird: Oh the crotch pain!!! It feels like I was kicked in the crotch, or have been riding a bike way. too. long.
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@sslm: Speaking of riding bikes, I had a really good laugh today when I got an invite to DH's best friend's fiancee's bachelorette party. It's going to be in late April and will consist of a bicycle tour through Niagara wine country. Sounds lovely, but I can't stop laughing trying to picture myself riding a bike mere days after delivering a baby. Obviously I declined
blogger / pomelo / 5361 posts
@blackbird: I was feeling that way about labor, too, until we scheduled it. Now, I'm nervous again!
@hergreenapples: Totally with you on being over it. Ready for the boys to be here.
So, today we scheduled our induction! We'll go in Monday at 7 a.m. and see if we can convince my body to pop these little ones out. If not or if there are any complications with our delivery (we're going to try a breech-transverse vaginal delivery), then they will switch to a c-section. Either way, by sometime on Monday or Tuesday, we should have babies!!!! I am both thrilled and absolutely, completely terrified. Eek!

@Mrs. Blue: OMG! So exciting! Can't wait for the first babies of the April 2013 thread to make their appearance. Wishing you so much luck. Please keep us posted!

Omg mrs blue!!!!!!
What are you doing this last free childfree weekend?!?!
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Mrs. Blue: DAYS AWAY! Oy, I am so excited for you! I will be keeping everything crossed that things go well - it'll be perfect regardless, since you'll have your little men!
@AprilFool: I'm with you; counting on baby being late, so I don't get my hopes up in those last few weeks. If she comes early/on time, it'll be a nice surprise! (Doubt it, though.)
@sslm: YES! The next few weeks feel like an eternity.
@blackbird: I'm glad you're feeling well. Enjoy it, lady! x
@hergreenapples: Oy, lightening crotch. I feel you. It's awful!

I had a bit of a scary weekend! Had my 33+4 OB visit on Friday morning...
I mentioned to my doctor that the bub's movements had slowed down a lot in the last few days. He had a feel & noticed that the heartbeat was also a little slower than usual. My blood pressure had also crept up (150/90!) ... so he was worried. He ended up sending me straight upstairs and admitting me to the maternity ward for 24 hours of monitoring. I had to collect pee in a jar for 24 hours & have regular checks for blood pressure & baby's heartbeat/movements.
(Oh... And fundal height today was 38 weeks. (!!!!) I'm 34 on Monday. Hoo boy.)
Anyway, had several CTG scans for baby and she was fine, movements picked up several times but just being stubborn (as usual). My blood pressure dropped to the healthiest it's ever been too - last reading this morning before discharge was 110/70. Amazeballs! The OB came to see me before we left, told me I'm looking good - blood work came back normal, pressure was pleasing, so just to have some rest and slow down. I'm staying close to home this week until some more monitoring next week, but hopefully the crisis is over.
Talk about excitement! I saw SO many newborns today/yesterday - can't believe that the next time I'm there (hopefully) I'll have one of my own.

@jaguar: Omg, scary!!! I'm so glad everything worked out okay! Take it easy and rest up. I sympathize about measuring ahead. It kinda sucks when you're measuring over 40 and you have a few more weeks to go because it's just so hard to move around and you know the end is not quite in sight. However, our LOs are oh so worth it!
@blackbird: I feel like we should have big, fantastic plans, but at this point, I think lots of resting, staying hydrated, and doing a last minute quick cleaning of the house are pretty much what's on the agenda. We are going to go to dinner on Saturday for our "Last Supper" though.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@hergreenapples: hahaha!! Yeah I wouldn't think that would be a great idea...
@Mrs. Blue: Holy cow! Monday!!!!! That's so exciting
@jaguar: Yikes! That sounds scary. Sorry you had to go through that but I am so glad it all turned out ok.
wonderful grape / 20453 posts
Jaguar, so scary! But glad everything is ok in the end. Your baby must've decided to take a vacation or something in there
I think relaxing and a nice dinner out sounds great mrs blue! Have you had a lot of people ask if you're carrying twins? There was a twin mama at our class Thursday night and it was SO obvious to me she was NOT carrying just one! Not that I would ever ask-she told us all.

@jaguar: so scary! I'm really glad that everything is still going well. I would have been a complete mess. Your BP sounds good, too. Keep resting!

I felt so weird yesterday. Like i was going to start my period or something. Crampy and just...off. It went away while I slept, but I dreamt that I was bleeding and labor was starting!

Thanks everyone. I'm feeling LOTS better now and rested up from the weekend at home. Still planning on taking it easy. Good news is that we have a growth ultrasound booked for Thursday this week, so I DO get to see baby girl again soon. Yay!
34 weeks today.

@jaguar: yay for 34 weeks!
I've been having really bad pelvic pain- I'm not sure how to describe it, but it feels like tired muscles and lots of pressure in my pelvic area. When I was on my walks this weekend it felt like the baby's head was grinding against my pelvis. Ouch!
Just feeling heavier in general, I guess. I was surprised by how suddenly that changed- I'd been feeling pretty good physically up until Thursday and then bam! heavy, pain, trouble moving. Oy- it could be a long 6 weeks!
Here I am at 34:

Y'all, I am NERVOUS. Whoa. I've been waiting for this for what seems like forever, and now my tummy is just churning with anxiety! I hope I can get at least a little bit of sleep tonight. I'll try to update when I can. See you on the other side!
One last bump picture.

@Mrs. Blue: Can't wait to see you and the boys on the other side. Lots of love coming from Sydney town honey. xxxx
