Just wanted to pop in and say HAPPY DUE MONTH to you April mamas! My birthday is tomorrow so I'm biased, it's one of my FAVE months! Hoping everyone has a healthy and quick L&D over the next few weeks!!!

@hergreenapples: I completely understand. I am a jumbled mix of emotions at this point, and when people say "you must be so excited!!!", I have the same reaction as you. I think it's normal, especially for a FTM

Ok, my mirror is dirty and my shirt is too small but here is week 35 + 4!

Officially April!! I'm a jumbled mix of emotions, enormous belly, and swollen feet at this point. Hopefully just a few more weeks and he will be here! Happy due date month

@sslm: Thanks for understanding, due date twin I agree that it's probably mostly due to the FTM thing....if this were a subsequent child I would at least have some idea of what was to come.

I think I'm going to try some journalling to help get all my thoughts on paper and work through them before baby's arrival

@hergreenapples & @Sslm, It drives me crazy when people are like, OMG YOU MUST BE SO EXCITED. I just tell them that mostly I am anxious. Which is true. I'm excited but i'm also mostly just....daunted by all that is to come. I have no idea what to expect but I am nervous and anxious. DH is really excited but he also is more of a kid person than I am (i generally am like...ugh, kids/babies, etc) but he also has it easy compared to us ladies

Oh and the people who keep saying stuff like, "your life is about to change in ways you've never imagined!"...like, thanks captain obvious

I think tomorrow will be my last day of working. i know i'm working from home, but I am soooooo over it. and my dr appt is tomorrow and she'll schedule me for an induction, so i will have a finite END DATE, which is crazy

  9. cheert16

    nectarine / 2631 posts

@blackbird: My appt to schedule induction is wednesday ANSI can't wait! Hopefully something has happened and I have progressed a bit, so we can actually set an induction date!!!

  10. heartonastring

    pomegranate / 3895 posts

    @blackbird: Yes! Exactly this!

Hope your doctor's appointment goes well today

I finally got some time to take photos of our (99%) completed nursery. The only thing left to do is hang one last component in the top left of the gallery wall above the dresser, but it's going to be baby's first initial and since we're Team Green we won't know what the initial is until baby is here

  11. blackbird

that room is gorgeous!!! The dark is really sophisticated!

Everybody has such LARGE nurseries! I feel like ours is so tiny!

@hergreenapples: Wow, the nursery is beautiful, I absolutely love it!!!!!

  13. heartonastring

@blackbird: @sslm: Thanks, ladies. Nurseries are so much fun to decorate, aren't they?!

  14. blackbird

    wonderful grape / 20453 posts

They are! I don't even care that it is more for 'me' than her, lol!

So i officially have an induction date! Things look good, but with my history and the way things look down there, the doc offered an induction for Thursday night and we're taking it! So the baby should be here Friday or Saturday at the latest (hopefully Friday!). She also stripped my membranes today (holy freaking hell, btw...) so if that's going to work, she said it'd be within 24 hours.

    So...yeah. WOOHOO!

@hergreenapples: sorry I was snooping your thread! I love your curtains. Where are they from? We are doing grey/yellow for our Team Green nursery and they would be perfect! Your nursery looks fantastic!

@blackbird: Holy moly! Baby Blackbird is going to be here so soon!!!

@delight: Thanks I made the curtains myself with fabric I bought from fabric.com (http://www.fabric.com/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=a6551a2f-69a2-41e5-ad1d-2e41160b8928). I can't sew, btw, so I made the curtains using this tutorial from YHL: http://www.younghouselove.com/2010/02/nursery-progress-getting-the-hang-of-it/.

@blackbird - thanks for the encouragement! good to know other ladies on here are somewhat dilated & effaced and have been walking around like that for a while! (and your cat photo is cracking me up)

and excited about your induction date!

@aprilfool - lol at "hippo feet have found me"! my feet/legs have held out up to now, but i'm 4 weeks behind you! and you look amazing at 39 weeks!

@mrsblue - LOVE the pics of your little guys! i can't believe they're here already! I esp love the last one, where they're lying next to each other. so sweet.

@silva - i'm with you! i'm due apr 25 and can't imagine waiting til the end of the month to deliver! on the one hand i still have so much to do & am not ready yet, and on the other, i can't wait to meet her! you look great in your 37-wk photo!

@cheert16 - welcome to the club! and good luck with your induction tomorrow!

@sylvie_b - excited to hear about your progress (physically & prep-wise). i'm so impressed you squeezed in a little trip before the baby - talk about organized! love the photo - you look so great!

@pumpkinspice - bump is looking great!

@hergreenapples - it's funny, i can't even put into words what i think it will be like. i think the ones who are parents understand the best. "excited" seems like such a pat phrase to think about what will be one of the most life-changing and unpredictable things that will ever happen to us. i guess we just need to nod and say - "yup, it'll be exciting!" otherwise we'll have to have a 30-min conversation about it. journaling sounds like a genius idea. it will be interesting afterwards to see what was going through your head.

um - and your nursery is so drool-worthy! i LOVE it. it's very calming - love the gray colors.

@autumnlove - your bump is precious!

You guys! I'm so sorry I haven't posted. Been busy, ya know, popping out a baby!

Baby Jag decided to come all on her own at 36+5. Long labour that I'll write more about later. She's beautiful! I can't seem to post a picture from my phone, but there are tonnes on my Instagram or blog if you know where to look!!!

Her name is Georgia Elizabeth & she was born March 30 - 3.5kg, huge for a 'premmie'. Unfortunately she has feeding issues and has been in the special care nursery since she was born. She can't suck, so struggling to feed without a tube. I hate not being able to breastfeeding her (although I still don't have milk, 4 days after her birth. Frustrating) but she is getting great care.

The sad moment will come tomorrow when I'm discharged & have to leave the hospital and go home without my baby girl.

I can't believe all the action, April moms! Seems like time went by very quickly (and yet, also very slowly!). Here we are!

I have enjoyed growing along side you all- and really look forward to continuing to get to "know" you as our babies come! The support is wonderful to have! Its nice to be able to talk babies all the time without others getting annoyed

The March board had a nice little running post w/ due dates, sex of baby, and then updated when babies arrived...should we try to do something similar?
I checked the old list, but it seems like a lot of info was missing & people's dates had changed...

I'm due April 20th, and we are team Green!

I've been bouncing on an exercise like crazy trying to bounce the baby right out of me. Lol.

@Silva: good idea!! I'm due April 9th with a girl.

  30. heartonastring

@nycbee: Yeah, "exciting" is a pat phrase for sure and I'm certain that I've been guilty of saying the same thing to pregnant women in the past...oops. But yeah, my feelings are far too complex to convey in one word whose connotations are entirely positive. If I were being honest (which would probably freak most people out!) I would say that I feel excited, anxious, scared of having the baby, scared of being a mother, scared of how having a baby will affect my marriage and just generally scared of the unknown!

You look fantastic! And baby looks adorable. I love how chubby they are now

@jaguar: Yay for baby Georgia! I hope she stay in hospital is a very, very short one

    @Pumpkinspice: Eek! Six days!!

@Silva: Great idea! I'm due April 9 and we're Team Green. I will honestly be SHOCKED if this baby isn't a boy though.

Any other Team Green moms have serious hunches about their baby's sex?

I just had my 39 week appointment and nothing new to report. Didn't get a cervical check. I've been having cramps, but they're not timeable at all, so I am just hoping it means things are getting ready to happen... Midwife said baby is in a good position, whatever that means.

@sslm: Good luck to you! I have my 39 week appointment tomorrow morning. I was having lunch with DH today and had a couple contractions (BH, I think, but stronger than others I've had). I came home and laid on the couch and none since then. I kind of freaked DH out though...he just called to make sure I wasn't in labour

@jaguar: Congrats! I had a look on your blog and she is beautiful. Hopefully she can come home soon.

@hergreenapples: Your nursery is just lovely! Love the colours

@nycbee: You look great and love the us pic. It's amazing how much you can see at this point. And thanks

Had out 40 wk appt on Tues, made our 41st - booked in for a strech and sweep and then we talk about induction. No real signs of labour aside from crampy belly so just waiting.

Anyone else unsure of names? After throwing out our name at 28 wks we finally decided on something at 38wks but now I am loving something else. My husband will kill me if I suggest something different. Haha. I think I just need to see what she looks like to be sure. Such a big responsibility naming a small person.

Adding myself and Bpaig to the list -

    Babies born!
Mrs Blue: Finn & Elliott born March 11
Jaguar: Georgia Elizabeth born March 30

    Waiting to meet...
