@NY_Smiles: welcome!!
@chibee: I don't know a lot of people that are glowy in the first tri. I think it just sucks more because I can't use pregnancy as an excuse because no one knows yet. At least DH has been through all this before so he knows the hunger and fatigue is normal.

@chibee: I am so right there with you, lady. I dread everything but bedtime. I fell over twice this morning while getting ready for school-not good. Eating is awful, and I am no fun. I really want to be one of those people who take to pregnancy naturally, but it os nit happening...not yet, anyways. Right now, it tests me and feeds on my anxiety. I really try, but this stuff is hard! Here is to hoping you turn a corner soon
@NY_Smiles: hi! Welcome! Congrats on your marriage, and congrats on baby!

@NY_Smiles: welcome!
I felt like a new person yesterday with zero nausea and vanishing fatigue after the worst week ever. I was fine today until my commute home. I was going to the gym when the fatigue and weird queasiness in my stomach returned. I think I'm going to bed in the next 5 mins...I'm SO sleepy! So tired.... I have not felt sexy or glowy at all so far. That must magically happen (for some) in the second trimester. I can barely look presentable at work. No heels and flats only, hair just air dried and frizzy. So hot.
ETA: Major respect to all the teacher mamas to be! I can't fathom interacting and teaching students all day and standing on my feet during the first trimester. I can barely keep it together slumped over at my desk in my office with no one to disturb me. You all must have some insane mental perseverance to push through all the physical side affects!

@luckypenny: @T.H.O.U.: @LovelyPlum: @SupernovaJ: i am so glad i'm not alone, i feel really ungrateful right now being miserable because i went through kind of a long period ttc'ing and this is all i ever wanted for so long but now that it's here, i'm like omg and i'm only 7 weeks - how will i get through 8 more months of this?? please tell me it gets better.... in the meantime, i'm super excited for my ultrasound on thursday, maybe that'll put things into perspective for me once i see the "proof"!

and honestly the ONLY thing that makes me feel better is cuddling my dogs so hard that i feel like i squeeze the life out of them. i put my face right in their fur and just breathe in their puppy scent and it really calms me and makes me feel better!! thank goodness for doggies

@chibee: I hear ya. I was really complaining last week because the fatigue and nausea were so bad. I literally had no energy and couldn't do anything and I remember thinking: "I can't go on like this". Imagine my worry when I suddenly had zero symptoms literally over night. I thought the worst had happened. Really, I got so down and suddenly wanted to feel miserable again (hate how pregnancy can really make you go nuts!). So, while it's hard to deal with some of the physical aspects of being preggers, it can also be very reassuring. I guess the good thing is that the symptoms come and go, so hopefully you will get some relief soon, and not go into panic mode like I did.

@chibee: I know what you mean...I don't want to seem ungrateful. I'm not!! I'm so grateful. I'm thrilled to be pregnant. I'm glad to have symptoms. But it is still hard! And yes, puppies are the very best. Mine won't leave me alone, and I love it
@SupernovaJ: that would way freak me out, too! I've had hours like that.

aaaah all this talk of puppies is making me miss mine like crazy!! I see them (and dh!) for the first time in a month tomorrow night and I. cannot. wait!! this being away from home while being pregnant has gotten really, really old.

@SupernovaJ: you're totally right, that would definitely freak me out!!
@nana87: wow!! I miss mine so much when i'm only at work i can only imagine how much you must miss your pups!!!
@LovelyPlum: one of mine has been especially clingy lately and i'm loving it haha

@LovelyPlum: I'm actually home now (yayyyY!), but home alone--dh and the pups are with his family about a 4 hour train ride away and I'm heading down there tomorrow! he took the dogs to them while he had a business trip last week, and we're going camping this weekend with friends who live closer to their house, so it made more sense for me to come to him rather than have him and the dogs go back and forth. but it's crazy--I am not so happy with having to deal with the in-laws while all I want to do celebrate with dh on our own, since this is the first time we'll be together since bfp! But oh well, at least we're FINALLY going to be together! I don't know if it's for good yet though, I think I might go back for a bit later this fall (maybe 3 or 4 weeks during the 2nd trimester), but I need to talk to my dr at our appointment tomorrow about timing for appointments etc.

@nana87: I'm so, so excited for you to be home!!! Enjoy that, and enjoy DH. Good luck tomorrow-let us know how it goes!!

@T.H.O.U.: I feel the same way. I'm going to be nervous anyways, but despite how I feel and already being confirmed at the DR, it won't feel real until I get an ultrasound.

@T.H.O.U.: Ok I understand now! I totally know how you feel about being symptomless. Last week I was nauseous, and now this week I have nothing. My boobs are even the least sore they have been in weeks. The only thing I am holding on to is the fact that I am still somehwhat tired and very emotional. Looking forward to seeing a baby today so I can feel better.

Man this thread moves fast! I've been a bit out of touch because I went home this weekend to tell my parents (which was amazing!) and I've been working a lot (wedding Saturday, newborn shoot yesterday, engagement shoot tonight!).
I am still feeling pretty good. I did notice at the wedding on Saturday I was a lot more tired after 5 hours of shooting than I normally am. Makes me a bit nervous for my 10 hour wedding in September at 7 weeks! And I've noticed I don't feel very good if I let my stomach get empty. But that's about it so far.
Mostly I'm just feeling really good since I officially crossed over the 4 week mark (I was kicking myself for testing at 10dpo and so scared I'd lose it before I hit 4) and since I told my parents. I don't quite know why but last week I felt like I was just terrified every day and this week I am feeling very at peace with things. I know it's still super early and bad things could happen, but I'm not really letting them weigh on me and it feels great. I hope that I can remain chill until my u/s on Sept 19!! So excited to see a heartbeat

@gilmoregirl: one down. I still don't have students yet, but I still went to bed at 8:30 last night because I was so beat!

@Mae: I have that problem with my stomach being empty. I have to graze all day, but I also can't eat too much. It's a catch 22, lol

@LovelyPlum: I don't know when to start either! DH and I were thinking 10 weeks... which is next week, I guess! Feels funny to take a pic of my bloat!
papaya / 10343 posts
@Dandelion: I think that may be the same for me. I just sort of naturally (generally) eat a somewhat substantial breakfast and then smaller meals the rest of the day. But Sunday night we went out to dinner at one of my favorite places and I got what I always get there (grilled chicken sandwich and split a side order of onion rings) and omg I was sooooo sick. I don't know if it was a coincidence? Or if it was because I ate more than I usually do? Or if something in that meal is on the list of things I'm no longer allowed to eat... but ugh that sucked.

@Dandelion: I had a colonoscopy a few years ago, and it was a breeze. I think the worst part for me was drinking the gallon drink thing the night before, and the anticipation. I had never been knocked out before--which I dont know if thats what will happen now that your preggers? I felt totally fine afterwards, it was not bad at all.

I posted in appts as well, but here is our "little putz" as my dad calls it. Heart is beating at 194 beats per minute. I was super nervous and needed to go bathroom really bad, but I made it through, and it was worth it. What an awesome sight!

@HazelEyes: Not a colonoscopy...a colposcopy. Looking at my cervix.

@jhd: haha, high school here as well, and every female teacher with kids is onto me. I have been carrying ginger ale with me all afternoon and I basically eat only crackers. The kids are so far oblivious, but they're high school kids so I expect that.

@chibee: I have felt like that a lot. I look gross, I feel gross, and I'm pretty miserable a lot of the time. I've been having a hard time being happy and grateful when I feel so terrible. It's been hard because I also feel really, really guilty that I cant just be glad I'm pregnant and appreciate it all. I don't. It sucks to feel this awful. If it helps, I'm 9 weeks and starting to feel more optimistic. I know I'm closer to feeling better, and there's a light at the end of the tunnel of first tri misery, and I'm doing better at dealing with it all. Hope you're feeling better soon, too.

@megz06: yay, so awesome! I was terrified I was going to pee during mine...haha seriously the worst part.

@gilmoregirl: @megz06: So how does that whole thing work? Is this the 8 or 12 week u/s? I have a tiny bladder already and I'm so nervous about this part haha. Like how much do they make you drink and how long do you have to hold it?!
