Okay ladies. I thought it would be fun to start a name thread since most of us are finding out the baby's sex! I can't wait to hear what everyone comes up with!

We only have one boy name we can agree on and I get the feeling DH doesn't even really love that one. We have soooo many girl names we love that it is hard to choose but have a top three I think. So far we have....
Noah for a boy.
Hattie, Beatrice, Norah, and Eloise for a girl.

We are pretty set on Matthew for LO. I'm pretty set on a middle name, too, but it needs to set in a little longer before I commit, lol.

@luckypenny: thanks for making this! Love all your names! I work have a hard time choosing between those too!
@Dandelion: love!
I have noooo clue for a boy. I really like Cruz, but my husband says it's a last name.

@luckypenny: I love your name choices!! Norah was one of our favorite girl names for a long time, but a close friend named his baby Nora so it's out for us. I'm still pretty bitter about it, haha!
Our girl is going to be named Rosalie!
Are you all sharing your names IRL? I really want to but dh is really adamant about not sharing, and I don't know why! It's not a superstitious thing, and it's not really about caring about other people's opinions either.

@luckypenny: Cute names!
@Dandelion: Matthew is a great name!
@nana87: Rosalie is so pretty!

We don't have names yet. We've hardly talked about it! I wanted to wait until the AS - which is next Monday!!! We have a really complicated, hard to pronounce in English, Dutch last name so I know I want the first and middle to be short/simple!
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@nana87: We are just sharing names with close family. Luckily everyone likes the names we've picked out. I also couldn't care less if they didn't. AND I love Rosalie!! So pretty
@PEAPIE: Oh man! How have you held out so long?? I feel like the day after I got pregnant I looked over at DH and said, "What do you think of the name _____ ?" lol

@luckypenny: love your name choices! i think beatrice is my fave. maybe it's b/c i loved the ramona books!
@PEAPIE: we haven't gotten serious about names yet either.
@Dandelion: i love matthew!
@nana87: rosalie is such a pretty name!

@luckypenny: Haha... Well I have a secret list of names on my iPhone I started like, a year ago.... But I haven't busted it out yet.

@PEAPIE: haha glad I'm not the only one who started one pre-baby lol

@PEAPIE: I have had a list on a microsoft word document for a few years now lol. It is getting deleted after this kid lol.

I have had my name for my first born since I was 9 years old. Poor husband had no choice in the matter, luckily he loves the name. So boy or girl, it was always going to be Campbell Mackenzie. Campbell is my mom's maiden name and Mackenzie is my sister so both are very significant and super Scottish which was very important to me since my mother is from Scotland. So my little boy will be Campbell Mackenzie.

I love everyone's names! We don't have names picked out yet. Hopefully we can talk about it soon.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@NY_Smiles: oh I love that name and the significance! I also love how unisex it is
pea / 11 posts
@LuckyPenny: Thanks! People are giving us a hard time about it and saying its too feminine for a boy. I think Campbell is a very masculine name. And they say Mackenzie is a girl name but Mackenzie actually means "Son of a ruler" so it literally means boy. Oh well, I love it and am it means so much to me to use it. I am keeping a promise I made to my grandfather when I was 9 to use that exact name. My Grandda has been gone for 10 years but I know he is dancing a Scottish jib in heaven knowing I finally kept my promise to him.

@Dandelion: Love Matthew!
@NY_Smiles: Love your meaningful name. Really wish I had one, but all of the surnames in my family don't work.
We are really struggling with our name choice! I have Hollyn in mind, but not entirely sold on it. My son's name is Harrison and not sure if its cute that they are similar or annoying. I met a girl named Hollyn when I was a teenager and I always really liked the name. I like that its unique. I want to be set on a name before we share in real life so that others opinions don't sway me, but I sort of want opinions too!
eggplant / 11408 posts
@Amelieisme: I like Hollyn a lot! What would you use as a middle name?
coconut / 8079 posts
@NY_Smiles: Love the name! My parents are both from Scotland. I believe my grandpa had a cousin named Campbell.

@luckypenny: aw that's what we're naming our baby Noah and I love it that was the only name DH liked out of the millions of boys name I threw out there we had it picked out before we even knew it was a boy

I'm new to this group, but I'm due April 23, 2014! We find out on December 2nd if it's a boy or girl.
If it's a boy, his name will be Alexander Lock (middle name is a family name that dates back to the Revolutionary war).
If it's a girl, it will be Annemarie Kathryn.
apricot / 344 posts
@CastleGirl: I just now saw this! Welcome! So who's in there? Alexander or Annemarie!?
I still have no names! Not in a rush, but I'm worried I will put off decision making until he's born... maybe that's best though?
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@CastleGirl: welcome! How am I just now seeing this? Come over to the due date thread board! can't wait to find out if you're having a little boy or girl!
persimmon / 1273 posts
@PEAPIE: We're waiting till he's born to decide. Right now we have Samuel, Henry and Patrick as front runners, but the list fluctuates a little. We're also thinking of using Patrick as a middle name.
Our girl's name (which we will not need this time) is Nora Margaret...both are family names, and we've had it in mind since before we were married
watermelon / 14206 posts
@Honeygold89: @luckypenny: My cousin, who is due a week before me is naming her boy Noah. I relieved that she shared the name on FB, because I was really worried that we would pick the same name, lol.
We're still going with Matthew. We think William for a middle name, because it's DH's grandfather's name and my dad's first name. I haven't told my dad, yet, because I have to make absolute sure we're using it before I tell my dad. I'd hate to have to un-tell him, lol.
nectarine / 2527 posts
@Dandelion: lol aw but that's a good thing you found out before hand. We were trying to make sure we didn't give him a name that anyone in either fam had but I bet your dad will be over joyed but make sure first it would be bad to un tell him lol
apricot / 344 posts
@gilmoregirl: Yeah, we'll probably wait to finalize after he's born, but I'd at least like a shortlist! And Samuel is on our list too- probably for the middle name! It's hubs middle name, only his has two dots above the E for the Dutch spelling. It's a really cute first name too though!
coffee bean / 40 posts
@Peapie, @luckypenny: It's a boy! So we have a little Alexander Lock on his way.
apricot / 344 posts
@CastleGirl: Another boy for April! I love that name because I was secretly obsessed with Lost. Lock is a cool name!
coffee bean / 40 posts
@Peapie: haha I know! It's actually a family name -- it's my dad's name and it dates back to a family member who was in the revolutionary war. Hence why there's no "E' on the end like in Lost

What do y'all think about Rowen... I love the name but I have issues with the fact that it's a unisex name- so I'm not sure if it's "manly" enough. Am I being silly though?! I also just like Owen, too.
grapefruit / 4582 posts
@PEAPIE: love it! What about spelling in Rowan? Something about the "a" makes it seem more masculine (though I'm not sure why lol )
apricot / 344 posts
@luckypenny: Yeah I've been going back and forth on spelling. I know of a baby girl Rowan, with an A... So maybe that's why I'm thinking E. I dunno!
coconut / 8079 posts
@PEAPIE: I know a Rowan (boy). I think I prefer Owen , but I like both names.
