@everbee: biggest hugs and I am so sorry for all you are going through. What a difficult decision you are being faced with and I am sorry you are getting negative comments about your situation. We are all thinking about you.
@delight: checking in to see how you're doing. I've been thinking a lot about you. Big hugs to you too.

I am just checking to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Like everyone else I've been caught up in all the things that come along with the holidays. I have been reading everyone's updates regularly, but hope to be back a bit more in the new year! I hope everyone enjoys time with loved ones over the next few days!

How did everyone's Christmas go? Ours was awesome!!!
I can't remember if I shared here or not (sorry, I probably did) but my sister and my 2 sister in laws are all pregnant and due within 12 weeks. Well I'm at the end of the 12 weeks. Anyways I'm probably not explaining it well enough. But my sister is being induced tuesday!!! So it all of a sudden is starting to feel so freaking close. Awwwww!!! I know it's not close, but just the timeline, idk.
Oh and hello back pain!

@anonysquire: it was great!! LO was only 3 months last Christmas so this year was way totally exciting and great. We really just had a great time this week overall but I'm about 5 start throwing away junk food. We were gifted way too much crap! So glad yours was good!

I'd like to say that I'll post more now that the holidays are over but now we will be beginning to purge, organize and divide toys (big girl toys and baby baby toys), cleaning out closets, painting Jessie's new room then moving her! It sounds like a lot of work but I'm actually excited, especially because I was gifted an awesome new vacuum which will be awesome during all of this!

@anonysquire: I agree that it's starting to feel very close, especially since I'll deliver by 38 weeks. Our Christmas went really well. We were very busy and I opened all of J's presents (he just wanted to play with them). I always love Christmas.
@mrs.sunshine: We need to do toy purging as well. J is very spoiled and we should at least put some of the toys he rarely plays with away until the twins get here.

@anonysquire: yes it's getting close! It's almost 2015 after all!
@Mrs. Sunshine: I also feel like the next couple of months are going to be very busy! We are on the home stretch now, lots to get organized! DH and I plan to relocate our home-office into an "office nook" in the living room room in the coming weeks so that we can turn the room into a nursery... so lots of purging here too!
@Mrs. Sunshine: you will have to post some pics of Jessie's new room... exciting!
We had a nice, quiet Christmas and have just been relaxing and indulging these past few days. We were very lucky to be gifted a lot of baby gear from family for Christmas so I am feeling a little more at ease now I know we have all the major things we need.

@lulu22: that's awesome that your family gifted you so much baby stuff! We were happy to get a $50 BRU card lol.
cantaloupe / 6923 posts
@Mrs. Sunshine: our neighbors stopped doing neighbor gifts (junk food) and we all donate to a charity instead. So we have nada!!
@lulu22: don't remind me!!!
@marionberry: ya I opened all zumas gifts too haha. So when is 38 weeks for you?
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@lulu22: totally! It may not have much hanging on the walls as I'm trying to save money and just get her moved in before April so decor mmy come later but we should have paint and my dad is making us some wall decals that I'm excited about so I'll totally show you!
@anonysquire: lucky! Both of our grandmother's and DH'S mom gave us so. much. crap. DH gets upset anytime I mention throwing it out (i usually don't keep it in the house because I have a hard time not eating AT LEAST one junk food item daily) but he goes back to work tomorrow and I will definitely be weeding out at least half of it to help get rid of the temptation!!!

We had a good holiday. My parents are buying us our fancy rocker for Christmas! Which is so exciting. We also went to test out car seats on Boxing Day. Turns out only one of them would fit completely on our back seat, and leave a reasonable amount of room for a passenger. The lady in the shop said people sometimes buy a new car, my DH laugh and said no chance of that! We ended up with a Chico key fit 30, for our Mazda 3, but got it on sale!
We got a ton of junk food over the holidays too! A friend works for a chocolate company and gave us a case! We just keep repackaging it as gifts for people!

Holidays went well. This was my son's first one that he kinda understood it all. It took about 6 hours to open all of the presents (open one and play type thing). But he loved it. My family sent a few small gifts (swaddlers, wet bag, hair bows) for the baby so we opened those too. We don't need to much since we saved everything from my son. And my sister is giving us all of her clothes to use. I bought a huge box of diapers already so we are all set I think.

@Banana330: We have two keyfits from our first son that we're using for the twins. I totally recommend them!

@marionberry: good to know! It wasn't the first one I would have picked but you have to go with what's most practical in your car!

@marionberry: Ooo! That kinda makes us due date twins? Ha
@Mrs. Sunshine: We really need to get started on Reagan's big girl room. Less than 3 months to go for me, and I have a feeling it will fly by. I feel like there isn't really much that needs to be done for the new baby, just lots of stuff to do for Reagan. I think that is part of what is making this whole "there will be another baby" thing not quite real.
Christmas was good. Reagan was totally spoiled. We didn't get her much except for a puppy (because we are insane). But everyone else really spoiled her. She got an awesome table and chair set with her and Ryan's names on the chairs, a PB anywhere chair (loves it so much), a new carseat, a play kitchen, a rocking lamb, an entire play house (we haven't even shown it to her yet or set it up), and then more toys and clothes...it was ridic. But she loved it all and had a good time. We took the Christmas tree down yesterday just so that we could rearrange the family room to make room for all her new stuff.
nectarine / 2317 posts
@NeekieRose: holy Cow! A puppy! you are insane! what kind?
We're babysitting a pug right now and she's so cute and loves to snuggle. I totally want one but luckily my DH is pretty level headed and keeping my whims at bay.
persimmon / 1386 posts
@Banana330: So we get to say that it is for Reagan, but it is really more for DH. She is a yellow lab. DH hunts waterfowl so she will be a hunting dog. Of course DH plans on teaching Reagan to hunt as soon as it is appropriate, so still a present for her, right? Ha.
I posted a picture of her in my bump pic yesterday, but here is one of Reagan getting her Christmas morning. Her name is Daisy!
nectarine / 2317 posts
@NeekieRose: She's adorable! You're a brave woman taking on a puppy right before a newborn!
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@NeekieRose: oh wow, a puppy, she's cute! We got Jessie a play kitchen a puzzle and a book. Both our parents got her plenty enough otherwise, not like she needed anything to begin with lol will Daisy be an indoor dog?
persimmon / 1386 posts
@Banana330: She is primarily DH's responsibility. And let me tell you how glorious it is to be able to stay in our warm bed when she whimpers in the middle of the night and has to go out! I know it will be my turn soon enough when the baby comes, but for now it's great that taking care of the crying (dog) baby in the middle of the night isn't my responsibility!
persimmon / 1386 posts
@Mrs. Sunshine: Does Jessie love the kitchen? Reagan loves hers! I put her new play kitchen in our kitchen in hopes that Reagan will play with her kitchen instead of emptying all the cabinets. It's kinda working.
And yeah, Daisy will be primarily indoors. Growing up (in CA and CO), our dogs were always primarily outdoor dogs but that seems to be foreign concept now days. We do have a fenced backyard so hopefully as soon as she is house broke she can spend a decent amount of time outside. DH cannot fathom leaving a dog in the backyard when we are not home though.
hostess / cantaloupe / 6486 posts
@NeekieRose: yes she loves it! She will play with it while I make breakfast and while I cook dinner and it's so much better than having her under my feet. It's the first toy she goes to every morning; on Christmas morning we had it all set up when she woke up and she didn't eat for 2.5 hours because she was so busy playing with it! And I only paid 50 bucks!! It was totally a Christmas win lol

@anonysquire: Ours was great. Lots of fun time with family at my parents house, as well as extended family visiting from Canada. I'm back to work today and tomorrow then off until the 5th!
@NeekieRose: congrats on the new puppy! Such a cutie! One of our dogs growing up was a Jack Russell named Daisy. She was the sweetest thing ever! I love your matching Christmas jammies!
@Mrs. Sunshine: I'm with you on the organizing and purging! DH is planning to clear his stuff out of the baby room this week. I'm planning to order the crib and start (and finish!) our registry. Can't believe we're all getting closer!!!
The rib/back pain and round ligament pain is in full effect over here. Lots of fun! I got a fitbit for Christmas so am having fun tracking my steps. That's the extent to my exercise these days!
apricot / 306 posts
@NeekieRose: oh Daisy is adorable! love that pic too what a special moment! The name Daisy was actually on my girls name list before I found out we were having a boy... along with Rose and Poppy (ALL the flower names!! haha)
@SunshineMcC: I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one counting steps as my only form of exercise.. I was so good about walking and swimming etc in the first half of pregnancy but that has all gone out the window now that it's cold out.... I hate winter and I hate being cold so I just have no desire to do anything other than snuggle on the sofa under a blanket!

It is a lot of fun reading about how Christmas went for those of you who already have LOs. It seems so far away but I know it will be no time at all before us first-time moms are experiencing that. So sweet.
Our LO is going to be the first grandchild in both my and DH's families, so needless to say Christmas was an avalanche of baby stuff. So many cute clothes! Plus some newborn necessities, and my Skip Hop diaper bag that I was really excited about. We live far away from our families so it was really nice for our family members to feel the baby kicking, which is getting stronger and stronger all the time. It's crazy. Lately I feel a lot of movement on both sides at the same time, so she must be doing jumping jacks in there.
Coming up this weekend, now that it will be 2015, DH is going to get started converting our guest room into the home office, and then the (current) home office will become the nursery. Lots of painting and moving furniture. I'm looking forward to supervising.

I had my GD blood draw this morning. Man how I had forgotten how bad that drink is! Hoping my results come in before tomorrow at noon. Otherwise I have to wait to find out until Friday. I'm super nervous since twin mamas are twice as likely to get GD.
pear / 1548 posts
@marionberry: ick! Mine is this Friday. I don't even know what to expect with the drink. I hope you get good results!
Our first baby shower went well, we got a lot of smaller stuff off our registry which is great. We also got a lot of gift cards and money. We decided to splurge and get the reclining glider that we want with the shower and Christmas money we received. I'm pretty excited! I also ordered the crib today so things should start looking like an actual nursery soon!
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Boopers: We ordered a reclining glider as well. You spend a lot of time there so it's worth the splurge! We set up our cribs last weekend and are just waiting on mattresses now. As far as the glucose drink there are multiple flavors I think but I always get orange. It's like a super sugary, thicker orange soda.
pear / 1548 posts
@marionberry: which reclining glider did you get? We are deciding between two Best chairs. I have coupons for both that I hope I can use, but we haven't picked one out yet. I want to take DH sit in both before we decide.
nectarine / 2317 posts
@Boopers: First baby shower already! that's exciting.
@marionberry: hmm mines still a month away, but I'm wondering if they offer other flavours here....
pomelo / 5041 posts
@Boopers: we ordered the best chairs Biliana. It wasn't my favorite from a looks perspective but it was the widest and we need room for two babies. I was also happy it had a high back. Our last best chair didn't.
pear / 1548 posts
@marionberry: That is one of the ones we are looking at getting. We found it at Buy Buy Baby. Where did you get yours? We are also looking at the Best Kersey at Babies R Us.

We are probably crazy but we aren't doing a glider for our nursery. We have a nice-looking super-comfortable daybed that can recline flat on one or both ends, or stay folded up in a semi-reclined position, with a lot of little pillows on it that I could rearrange for support if needed. I have a Brest Friend pillow as well, so it seems like it's going to be a comfortable spot for nursing. We have no space for a glider and I don't want to spend all that money! Anybody else skipping the glider?

Hey Everyone! Hope everyone's Christmas was wonderful:) I had quite a scare a couple days ago. I was getting ready for work and out of nowhere started bleeding bright red blood. I was shaking I was so scared. I called the doctor on call and it had stopped after a few wipes of blood and turned into just spotting. Since I wasn't having any cramping, baby was moving she just had me take it easy and call back and go in if it continues. It never had bright red blood again, just minimal spotting the next day and is completely gone now. I am thinking it was a broken blood vessel which I have read can happen. So thankful everything is ok but now I am back in the always worrying mode that I finally grew out of.
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@Mrs.Pinecone316: That is scary! Glad everything seems to be okay.
pomegranate / 3314 posts
@PawPrints: I didn't get a glider with my first, but we did purchase one this time around. However, it is not nursery-specific and fits in nicely with our living room furnishings for use post-baby.
