This is our first time getting to do a nursery since LO1 shared with us in our 1 bedroom last time. We are covering our spare room and it is so about 1/2 full of stuff that will need to go to other rooms or get out completely. We have bought curtains and a rug, as well as a night stand and shelf set, and have the unassembled crib in there. Looks like we are doing a green, blue and grey color scheme.

Did anyone ever watch Christopher Lowell? He decorates a room in 7 layers. Layer 1: Paint & Architecture is already set. The room is a light gray and has white plantation shutters. Layer 2: Install Flooring is set too- it's a light hardwood. Skipping ahead to Layer 6: Accessories, we picked out three photos from The Animal Print Shop to use, which are pictured below. I the blue macaw and DH the cubs & bears.
I'm not yet sure on furniture (Layers 3 & 5) because I am trying to create a nursery for an older baby/ toddler that will allow the room to double as a play area not just changing & sleeping. I'd love a colored or semi-colored crib though. The room needs a decent rug (Layer 4: Accent Fabrics), but first I have to deside on a color scheme. Right now I waffle between a simple neutral nursery and something with neutrals & brights. Finally, I want to switch out the existing lighted fan for a more stylish one (Layer 7: Plants & Lighting). That's all I have for now.

I'm so excited that someone started this board!
I started going a bit crazy with my nursery after Thanksgiving. It is going to be very gender neutral and woodland themed. My Mom refinished an old dresser for us to use as a dresser/ changing table. My Mom and sister helped put up vinyl trees and we put up the crib and went to Ikea for a rocker one weekend. Now I'm working on a mobile and some decoration for above the changing table. I also am planning on redoing the decor on the wall that the bed is on.
The room is also being used for as a guest room, so we are a bit cramped for space! I'll post some pics in a separate post, they are all on my phone.
@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: Cool prints! That is interesting about the 7 layers.
@MaisyMay: Love the color scheme!

@auggiefrog: That's wonderful!
You've all seen mine, I'm sure, but here is anyway:

Everyone's nurseries are so cute! I've been debating on what to do. Do I change it for new baby boy or keep it the same? I was thinking some subtle changes but similar color theme but then I'm thinking why bother. Or maybe just change the crib bedding?
What do you think? Help me decide!

@auggiefrog: I had tree decals with my sons nursery and he's managed to tear half of them off yours are awesome!

@jh524: Oh, no! I hope mine stay up for a good, long while! I like your color scheme. I might change a couple things around. Maybe some new artwork or new linens to make it seam special for your new LO. But after spending a lot of time on my nursery, I don't plan on changing too much when time for LO2 arrives.

Love all the nurseries! My first son had a gender neutral nursery with the plan that we would move the second baby in, so I don't get to do any nursery decorating this time. However we do need to decorate his big boy room...I just need to find some time to do it first!

@jh524: @bloved: I am not changing our nursery except for switching the rocker with a glider (hopefully). We'll be working on LO1's big boy room - personalizing it more.

@MaisyMay: that color scheme is perfection for a baby boy! What kind of direction will you take it? My fav blue green color combo is bright (lime fruit) green and dark cobalt almost navy.
@auggiefrog: @jh524: those tree decals- peeling or not- are everything!
@Cherrybee: yep, still lovely! On your nursery thread you talked about a crib changer, can you share more details on it? Depending on the shelving unit we go with that may be the best solution for us too.
@bloved: @autumnleaves: don't deny us pics of the double duty nursery and the new big boy rooms.
Technically I bought this elephant with baby in mind to bring him good luck, but for now it's in the guest room. Looks like I may bring in color after all.

Room update: We are unloading the room, it was our guest bedroom (moving guest bedroom to basement) and DH took down current closet system. We are installing new ELFA system in closet next weekend. Furniture is already ordered and should be here end of February/early March.

What personalization or keepsake projects are you doing or buying for baby's room?

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: We are going to get something similar to this for C's room.

@BandDmommy: very cool! I'm thinking of doing something with just my LO's initial- either on an accent pillow or something I can put on a wall. How did his closet turn out? Pics?

Yay! We settled on a crib! Here's my Kalon Caravan dream crib inspiration & the Babyletto Hudson we will buy. Now I just have to pick out the paint color for the slats.

Any updates on the nursery front? Babes will be here in about 2 months!
Just yesterday DH asked if I wanted to hire someone to create an accent wall. Umm yeah!
This is a little kiddie, but kinda cute.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I need to get working on finishing ours. I have started a mobile, and started finishing up the wall that the bed is on, but nothing is really done. I'm sure that in March I'll go into crazy nesting mode I'll get a lot more done. We did get the topper for our changing table/ dresser. It looks amazing! It looks like we actually spent real money (besides paint and new hardware) on the dresser/ changing table!
