@littleblessings: Ugh I'm so sorry. I have no advice, but I am not sleeping well either/if at all sometimes.
I didn't sleep last night. I had a horrible day yesterday due to my insurance denying my claim for progesterone injections to help reduce my risk of going into labor early. The pharmaceutical company wants $900 per shot, and I need 20 of them. Not surprisingly, I don't have $18,000 to spare right now. So I was basically crying at my desk and my doctor didn't call me back (and still hasn't) even though I'm supposed to start today. I can't even deal right now.

@psw27: ugh! That's insane! Hopefully it works out to not be so exorbitant.
My appt went well today. They wanted to schedule my anatomy scan for 2 weeks out, but of course that's thanksgiving week and the US tech isn't working all week. So Dec 1 it is...

@psw27: Omg, that's horrible! Hope it somehow works out for you.
@JennyPenny: Glad you had a good appointment! My anatomy scan is Dec 2nd- I do them at MFM and they schedule them at 17 weeks.

@JennyPenny: @lilteacherbee: Thanks. I'm really not a fan of my maternal fetal medicine doctor, her office is disorganized and non-responsive. ugh. I'm trying to not stress since that doesn't help me or the baby....

@psw27: What?! That's terrible! I hope it works out and you don't have to shell out that much money!!
@JennyPenny: Yay for a good appointment!
@bubblegum: Congratulations!! Daughters are wonderful (said the mom with two toddler girls)
Feeling definite kicks and rolls here. Baby was moving non-stop on the first ultrasound weeks ago. Seems like it's still very active with all the movement I've been feeling. I love it.

@MapleMoose: Aww thank you! I'm very excited!
Awww yay for baby kicks! Can't want for them to begin for me!

@MapleMoose: yay for baby movement! I've got some definitive movement finally, but nothing regular yet

@littleblessings: Ugh I'm so sorry, that sounds awful! Hopefully it ends soon and you can get some sleep!
@JennyPenny: Mine's Dec 2! I'm so nervous/excited!! Since we didn't have the NT scan (cause we did the DNA blood test), I haven't seen her since I was like 7 weeks pregnant! The anticipation is killing me.
@MapleMoose: Ahhh! I can't wait to feel those kicks!! So exciting!

@ValentineMommy: I hope it resolves too. With my other LOs it didn't resolve until 3rd trimester.
Is there a honey moon phase in the middle of the 2nd trimester? I feel fantastic, like mood and all.
I'm also super excited for the weeks coming up where those of us that want to know the sex of our babies will get to find out. I'm so psyched! Bring on pink and blue!
pomelo / 5791 posts
@littleblessings: Yes, I think there is supposed to be a sweet spot in the 2nd trimester! I never had it with either previous pregnancy though....I hope I do this time!

Anyone still throwing up occasionally? I feel like I've been sick forever! I'm 16 weeks today and I'm just not loving this pregnancy thing yet. It was so much easier with my first!

@abbydabbydoodlebug: My nausea seems to have finally calmed down (and no more throwing up). I was sick with DS2 until 32 weeks though I feel your pain.....and hopefully yours goes away soon!
pomelo / 5220 posts
@abbydabbydoodlebug: me! I threw up on Sunday and almost did this morning. It only happens if I get hungry, but that is pretty much every 2 hours at this point. Good times.... I feel your pain! I was not like this with LO#1.

@MapleMoose: Thank you. Still no progress and now I'm a day late starting my shots. insurance is a pain in the butt!

@bubblegum: @JennyPenny: @ValentineMommy: Let me know when you feel regular movements and kicks! It's such a special little moment when you are going about your day and baby is like "hey mom, I'm doing fine, just saying hi"
@littleblessings: The second trimester is always the easiest on me, with all my pregnancies. I have more energy and I'm not waddling yet, hah.
@abbydabbydoodlebug: So sorry to hear that you still have morning sickness. I hope it doesn't last much longer.
@psw27: Ugh, insurance companies fight you on everything it seems. I'd be pestering my OB too but it sounds like you already have issues on that end as well. Sorry you have to go through this.

How are you or did you tell friends/family what the sex of your baby is going to be?
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@abbydabbydoodlebug: Ugh, sorry you still have morning sickness I got lucky and only had moderate nausea and it's pretty much gone now. Hope it gets better for you soon! Oh, and I agree- with my first, pregnancy was a breeze. This time (#3), it's a bit harder, especially chasing after two kids all day.

@lilteacherbee: awwww that's so cute! I'm thinking my kids will get to do something super special and then friends and family will get a cupcake with colored frosting in the center. Not sure what to have the kids do yet. I'm thinking about filling eggs with glitter or colored confetti and having balloons in the back of the vehicle so they will break the eggs for a video and then get balloons to enjoy.

@lilteacherbee: so cute!
@littleblessings: Next week is our anatomy scan (we're waiting until Thanksgiving to find out though) but all my kids (45+) at school are going to be voting boy/girl for the full next week as something fun. I'll bring cupcakes in to announce to the kids, my best friend offered to bake some mini cupcake with frosting colored pink or blue!

@MapleMoose: yessss that's exactly what it's like. It's gives your peace of mind getting those kicks!

@littleblessings: for our family we made cupcakes with pink frosting in the middle. Their reactions were great!!! My baby brother is driving down from college this weekend to find out. Not sure what I'll do for him and we haven't announced the gender to social media just yet. Maybe have LO pose with a pink balloon.

@lilteacherbee: aww so cute!
For whatever reason we were pressured into doing a gender reveal party for LO1 and are feeling some pressure to do it again. I have no idea how to make this work since we'll find out Dec 1 and the weeks before Christmas are already packed. I wonder if I can do something "big" without hosting a party...

@ValentineMommy: @psw27: @lilteacherbee: It's not even nasuea really. It's like I have gunk in the back of my throat that won't go away and it just makes me want to yak all the time. I threw up 3x last week because I didn't eat breakfast fast enough. Thing is, I have meds I need to take in the morning on an empty stomach and I'm not supposed to eat for an hour after. It sucks.
This pregnancy is just so much more difficult overall. Probably because I have a toddler I'm running after all day, every day. Blah. I just don't like it. Maybe I'll feel better once I start feeling the baby move.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I hope you feel better soon. Totally agree that having a toddler while pregnant is a totally different ball game.
Anyone else have any BH yet? I started having some tonight. It seems early, but then I don't think I would have recognized this feeling with my first pregnancy to know that it is a contraction.
grapefruit / 4213 posts
@littleblessings: We are going to announce the gender at Thanksgiving. Not sure how yet.
@JennyPenny: I've had a few BH over the past weeks. My OB warned me that I'd get them sooner than with previous pregnancies and it's true.

Just a small rant: my husband ate the last chocolate chip cookie. I was saving it for tonight with some milk, I again explained he should not eat the last of anything in the house!
pear / 1739 posts
@mrsmacSLP: ugh! I would be sooooo mad. SO always offers me the last of anything. The kids however devour things before I get a chance to blink. I have cried over the last cookie being gone too.
apricot / 308 posts
@littleblessings: This is the first time I actually cried over it (OMG!) and he felt so bad he offered to go buy some. I said no and I would make some tomorrow but I'm bagging mine separately this time!
pear / 1739 posts
@mrsmacSLP: it also helps to have an extra little stashed somewhere else in case a craving hits when yours are all gone
pomelo / 5220 posts
@abbydabbydoodlebug: oh yeah most of my throwing up lately has been on days I don't eat fast enough and I'm congested. If I blow my nose in the morning, odds are good I puke. Good times. This has been a rough one so far. I hope you feel better soon
@JennyPenny: I definitely was the other day. I was really stressed out about my medicine issue with insurance and could feel them coming on.
@mrsmacSLP: hahah husbands need to learn not to eat anything without asking!!

@littleblessings: that's so cool! I think I'm feeling baby now, could just be muscle spasms

@littleblessings: So jealous!! I felt both of mine around 17 weeks. I'm only 14 weeks now and anxiously waiting!
pear / 1739 posts
@lilteacherbee: I felt the first real kick at 16 weeks. I'm 18 weeks tomorrow. You're going to blink and be feeling movement all the time.

Anyone else find that the baby's movements make them nauseated? I was enjoying the nausea-free ride so far into the 2nd trimester.
pear / 1739 posts
@yellowbeach: not yet but my baby is really low. I have peed myself a couple times! Lol
I've been going through all of my baby clothes and pulled out all the preemie, nb and 0-3 month clothing. I wanted to make sure that I don't have to dig it all out later considering we have to pull out our Christmas decorations anyways. Lol.
nectarine / 2460 posts
@yellowbeach: I'm pretty sure this is me. I'm still not 100% its baby movement, more like 95, but it basically feels like my stomach is super unsettled which then makes me feel like i'm going to be sick. With DS it felt like small little tickles early on and the unsettled movements came much later, so its very different for me.
