@littleblessings: Nothing yet, but I'm keeping an eye on Black Friday deals for a double stroller!

@JennyPenny: I'm waiting for Black Friday for possibly the car seats and the baby's bassinet. They usually have great deals around that time for those. I'll know the baby's sex by then so I might get a coming home outfit as well

@JennyPenny: Omg, I totally get this. Watching DS1 and 2 play together is the greatest thing ever. So cute!!
@littleblessings: We've bought way too many clothes and hair bows already We already have most of the stuff we would need (double stroller, gear, etc). I did buy a changer the other day off of a fb swap that I'm going to paint to match the room. Still need to get the crib, but have it picked out!

@littleblessings: nothing yet! It's another boy so I don't feel as motivated... but the seasons will be opposite. We still need to figure out what we are doing about sharing a room/not sharing and if DS1 will still be in a crib or in a bed.

@psw27: I'm not sure what we will do with rooms either. DD and DS currently have their own rooms. Both will be in school next autumn so a baby in their rooms could disrupt their sleep. Not enough room in my room for a crib. DDs room isn't even big enough for a crib to be added if it's a girl. We won't know the sex until the 22nd

@bubblegum: Congratulations!
@littleblessings: pregnancy makes me so indecisive! I don't really think that a crib will fit in my DS room right now, but my husband thinks it will. I don't get why we need to cram them together when we have another room (and infrequent guests.)

@bubblegum: Yay, congrats!!!
@littleblessings: I have so much stuff from both of my boys, so the major baby gear is taken care of. We'll probably end up getting a new infant car seat because ours is too wide to fit with the boys' convertible seats in my car.
@ValentineMommy: Haha right there with you
with the clothes! We've known she's a girl for less than 2 weeks and I've already been shopping multiple times

@bubblegum: congratulations!!!!!
@psw27: if you have an extra room I'd use that too. Lol
@lilteacherbee: at least you have most of what you need. I've sold almost everything I had the last two years so I get to start over

We find out the sex two weeks from today, woo hoo!
I've already purchased quite a bit of stuff whenever I see a good sale. So far we have:
Mamaroo
Britax Agile Stroller
Britax infant car seat
Additional car seat base
Baby Brezza Formula Maker
Keekaroo Diaper Changing Pad
Ubbi
Some gender neutral onesies & socks
Looking forward to seeing what else we can get off of our to-buy list during Black Friday. We plan to purchase all of our big items and will leave the small stuff for our registries.

@bubblegum: Congrats!! What is your LO1 again?
@mrswilson2012: Wow, that's quite impressive! We're looking at the Britax Agile Double since we had the Britax system for #1 and it served us well.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@littleblessings: That's true. LO1 will be 3.5 when she's born so between him and LO2, I've kept mostly everything. Trying to figure out what to do with the tons of boy clothes I have now...
pomelo / 5791 posts
@lilteacherbee: we found out just in time to hit all the clearance super sales of summer stuff leftover from last year. I got so many dresses from babygap for $3-5, I couldn't resist!!! I am also torn on what to do with all the boy clothes I have left! There are so many!
@mrswilson2012: major formula maker fan over here!! We had one for ds2 (sold it after we were done using it) and will definitely be buying again!!

@ValentineMommy: @psw27: so glad to hear! We're just waiting on a settlement now. Thank goodness for uninsured motorist insurance!

We found a used (year old) Bob single for $120, it's like new! That's all we've bought so far! We'll find out gender Thanksgiving day so Black Friday is going to be crazy shopping!
Anyone looking at daycares yet? We've viewed two. The cost is like a mortgage! One was $1200 (home based) and the other $1824 (center). We're looking for full time outside Seattle

@mrsmacSLP: Luckily for us, my mom retired a few years ago to watch DS1....and then DS2.....and now she'll be adding DD to the list. I'm not sure she had planned on having this many grandchildren or being this tired....but she wouldn't have it any other way.

@mrsmacSLP: That's a great deal on a Bob! We love ours for the beach and snow days!
As for daycares, I put us on the waitlist at our prior daycare where my LO used to go. I also just put future LO on the waitlist at my son's current daycare even though they don't take kids until 1 so April 2018 waitlist. Waitlists in Boston are intense, to say the least. I'll probably add future LO to 1-2 other waitlists as well. The costs are also exorbitant, so I feel your pain. We currently pay $1820 per month for a toddler. An infant will be more - probably $2000 per month.

@mrsmacSLP: @psw27: Omg, I thought daycare here was expensive but wow I used to be a teacher, but there would be no way for me to make it worth it to teach and put three kids in daycare (even two would be pushing it). After my second was born, I decided to seriously pursue my photography business, so I'm basically a PT WA(mostly)HM. I schedule sessions for when my mom or husband can keep the kids and do everything else when they're in bed.
@ValentineMommy: You are SO lucky! My mom watched LO1 for us when he was a baby, but then I quit teaching after LO2 was born. She now refuses to watch them (I briefly considered going back to teaching this year). My MIL would
keep them both in a heartbeat, but she's still working (my mom never worked).

@lilteacherbee: yeah it's quite painful to spend about $50k on daycare. If we have a third, it won't be worth it for me to work - especially if LO #1 goes to private school (aka the tuition continues). It's hard because I"m working towards vesting a pension, so I have 6 years until that happens. I can come back to state service at any time to finish out the 6 years but my job is super low stress and very low hours for an attorney so it would be hard to get it back. I just wish it could be a part time gig for a little while.

@mrsmacSLP: @psw27: Yikes! It hurts my heart to see the cost of child care, especially in large cities. I'm extremely lucky to work at an amazing company that has heavily subsidized, high-quality daycare. When I was looking for DS it was going to be $1500 for him if I couldn't get into the on site center, but thankfully he got in and it's just $500. And its awesome having him so close
pomelo / 5220 posts
@JennyPenny: It hurts. Trust me. I could do a lot with $25k a year right now... pay off my student loans, pay down our huge city sized mortgage, save more for the future.... The $5,000 dependent care tax credit does nothing for us!

Who's already gotten their registry going?! Any fun new items that are must haves?
nectarine / 2460 posts
@bubblegum: I've started my registry but don't have anything interesting on it yet. My office chipped in and got this: https://www.guavafamily.com/products/lotus-everywhere-travel-crib for my work bff who is due soon. I was so impressed that it can be a backpack!!
pomelo / 5791 posts
@lilteacherbee: I would love to SAH, more than anything! I am the breadwinner of the family, and sadly, have no option. If we had to send the kids to daycare, it would cost more than DH makes, so he would be staying at home. I totally admit that I would be super resentful of DH if this happened, so I consider myself super duper lucky that I have my mom (I'm super lucky to have her regardless!)!! And unfortunately, I wouldn't let MIL near my kids without me there. Lol

@JennyPenny: That is so cool!!! Perfect for when visiting the parents/in laws

Congrats to you ladies finding out the gender of your little babies!! So exciting!
@bubblegum: I went to Buy Buy Baby this past weekend to start a registry and got so tired I stayed in bed the rest of the day! It was pretty overwhelming but good to see some of the bigger items I've been researching in person.
pomelo / 5791 posts
@Cordie: Ahhh! Registering is so fun! We also registered at buybuybaby!

@bubblegum: @ValentineMommy: It is fun! I am focused on the essentials at this point - wanted to see car seats and cribs/bassinets in person so that was good. However, my husband made the mistake of leaving me in the infant clothing section with the scanner, and somehow all these little baby clothes ended up in our registry! When I looked at our registry online later that night I couldn't remember scanning half of it haha!

@Cordie: Hahaha baby clothes are always fun!! Clothes that small are just too cute to turn away

Pregnancy insomnia is real. I cannot sleep for anything. I've tried all tricks and all suggested medications from the OB and nothing has helped. Will I ever truly sleep like a normal again? Lol
nectarine / 2460 posts
@littleblessings: I too had insomnia last night. I stupidly checked election results after getting up for my regularly scheduled middle-of-the-night pregnant pee and couldn't fall back asleep for hours. But, for regular pregnancy insomnia, I remember last time I felt that way and then baby was born and I magically slept again. I was the odd one that felt more rested with a newborn because even though I was waking up several times a night, I was able to easily fall back asleep, while that was not true when pregnant.
In other news, I have my 16 week check up today. Should get my anatomy scan scheduled so that will be a nice bright spot
pear / 1739 posts
@JennyPenny: I've gotten the insomnia with the last two also but never this early. At this point with the other two I was still sleeping soundly and sort of narcoleptic. Lol. I'm also coming down with a cold so that doesn't help. I can't wait to hear when your anatomy scan is! I have mine for just before Thanksgiving.
