Oh ladies- had a rough night last night. DD threw up not once but twice during the night last night which meant a lot of changing sheets and not much sleep. I think I got maybe 3 good hours and 2 crappy ones (since I ended up sleeping with her for part of the time). She seems better this morning and I'm staying home with her so we will see how the day goes. Also my mom called last night to say my dad is in the hospital (he has some serious chronic conditions) so there's that. I'm feeling physically and emotionally spent today!! This is one day I'm hoping I don't go in to labor! Good vibes much appreciated....

@buttermilk: I've sort of just resigned myself to the fact that I'm really going to be pregnant forever.

Started having contractions every 15 mins or so last night, lasting a minute each for over an hour. Real painful ones too, had to stop moving/breathe through them. Took a warm bath and they went away so I went to sleep and only had one over night.

They recently came back and look to be about 20 mins apart right now. Hoping this is the real thing and not some cruel joke.

@abmamma: I'm sorry to hear about your dad and the rough night. I hope things start getting better for you.

@getjazzy: That's exciting! Keep us updated. I think I might be feeling something similar. I've had some painful contractions since this morning, but they are very irregular and probably around 15 minutes apart. I'm not timing them yet, because I don't want to get my hopes up.

@buttermilk: I pee all the time too! I have probably gone 10 times today. It's crazy!

@Buttermilk you look low! Hopefully soon. I feel you on the peeing. It's just constant for me. And pretty much every hour at night too, I think. Ugggh.

@Getjazzy hope it's the real deal!!!

I guess losing my mucus plug was a big get excited for nothing since nothing has happened. Went on a long walk last night which also did nothing. I think I am going to blow off work this afternoon (I am working from home) and go to the pool and just lay in the water like a huge manatee. We are getting our car seat inspected tomorrow morning at the fire station. Thought about hitting the beach tomorrow but I don't think I can handle the heat.

@MrsADS: We are getting our car seat checked tomorrow, too! So exciting to be at 37 weeks... Hope the pool helps! That sounds really nice. DH and I are planning to paint all the new doors DH installed on the lower-level of our house this weekend. They are already primed, just need to be painted. Will be nice to nest nest nest!

@buttermilk: Ughhhh the last few days were the worst for having to pee. Everytime I stood up, it felt like I really needed to go, even if I had just went 10 minutes before.

Sitting at the hospital, waiting for them to let us go. We thought we could go, but we have to wait until LO is 48 hrs old (I only got one round of GBS antibiotics before he was born).

I want some more August babes!!!

@getjazzy: @aprild: come on babies!!! hope this is it for y'all!!

@buttermilk: 11 times!? that stinks. I was up so much last time with peeing but definitely not that much... I feel exhausted, though. Hoping to take lots of naps over the weekend in between house projects to make up for this.

@Mrs. J: That's exciting that you'll get to leave soon! Yay!

I've started timing my contractions. They are about every 10 minutes and have lasted for the last couple hours. I wish they would get closer together, so I would know for sure I'm in labor. I have an appointment at 3 today, so I guess I'll go. I'm not sure what to say - "Umm, I think I'm in labor?" Or what if in the middle of my appointment they get crazy intense? Can I say I need to leave? Seems like bad timing for an appointment lol

  22. Mrs. J

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@aprild: haha I would tell them about them. I had contactiona during my appt on Wed, and then she checked me, which is when I was at a 9!

@Mrs. J: That's encouraging! I think I'm worried that I'll get there, and they will say that absolutely nothing is happening. How close were your contractions during your appointment?

  24. abmamma

    kiwi / 641 posts

@buttermilk: @Mrs. J: @aprild: @LauraBear: thanks ladies! DD seems better- threw up this morning after trying to eat some toast but has managed to keep some crackers and water down since then. She won't drink the pedialyte though so I'm still worried about her getting dehydrated. Hopefully my dad will be discharged today too. I'm exhausted though!

@aprild: about 5 min. Mine never really get closer than 4-5 min apart, both pregnancies. I labor so weirdly!!

@abmamma: whew! Hang in there mama!

I took my cytotec this morning and then went grocery shopping. I've been having contractions all morning but they are so sporadic in duration and frequency. They are definitely more painful than other times and feel different than other times when they just felt like period cramps.
It's almost naptime here. I plan on resting with my son so we will see if that makes them go away.
I'm afraid my body has cried "wolf" so many times that I won't know when it's really go time!

  30. cat620

    pear / 1809 posts

@Ms. RV: my appointment time was at 3, but I'm still sitting here waiting on someone to see me. They are crazy behind today, and it's annoying. Anyway, my contractions have been about 10-15 minutes apart, but I feel like they are slowing down since I've been waiting here

  31. Ms. RV

@aprild: Do laps around the office! Maybe they'll get closer together. Sometimes I wish doctors had pagers like they do at restaurants so you could take a walk around the building and be buzzed when they are ready to see you.

@Ms. RV: I would, but I'm not wearing any pants haha. I've been in the exam room now for 40 minutes

@aprild: when I was in labor and they didn't let me walk because I had to be hooked up to the monitor, I at least stood and swayed side to side, trying to move things along. Maybe try that? Can't wait for your update!

Just got home from the doctor. I am 3cm and 80% effaced. She couldn't tell me when I would have the baby (of course), but said things looked favorable that it would be soon. I don't have another doctor's appointment scheduled, since they went ahead and scheduled me for a c-section. I'm a VBAC candidate, so they don't induce or let me go more than a couple days past my due date. The c-section is scheduled for the 11th at 9:30am.

@aprild: Had consistent, timeable contractions for 3 hours, 20 mins apart lasting a minute and then I decided to go to the store with DH to walk around and keep active and they died off. Decided to rest a bit since they were gone. Just brought out my breast pump to try and get things going again. Sadly it's looking like the start of my first labour which was insanely long.

@getjazzy: You never know! The labor could stall for a bit and then progress quickly after that! I'm hoping your baby comes quickly.

@buttermilk: @Mrs. Microscope: Thank you! I'll keep you updated if anything happens
