    @buttermilk: awesome ultrasound!

My symptoms have been better the last couple of days. Of course, I'm starting to get concerned that I don't feel as pregnant. Hopefully going to the doctor again on Monday will be reassuring.

@MrsStar: My breasts have grown a lot too and my face is a hot mess!! I never had acne with my first pregnancy but ever since this one, I haven't had a day of clear skin yet.

  4. MrsADS

    nectarine / 2262 posts

@MrsStar @getjazzy my boobs have blown up too. I need to get new bras actually but I have a feeling they will grow more so I'm trying to wait. They are getting kind of veiny too.

We had another u/s yesterday to check the status of my SCH - it's still there but getting smaller, so that's good. Baby looks good, measuring 7w4d. Heartbeat was 141, and last time (5 days earlier) it was 163 - that worried me a little but they said it was fine (??).

Last night and today I have been a lot less sick. I didn't take a Zofran today at all and I have had a few queasy spells but not bad. I have eaten more than I have in a LONG time. I had cereal and milk for breakfast (!!), leftover Chipotle for lunch and an ice cream cone for a snack. I'm really happy to be feeling better but honestly kind of worried that something is wrong with the baby. We just had the u/s yesterday so I am trying not to worry!

We go back for one more follow up u/s with the RE next Friday (also to check the SCH) and then he is graduating me to my OB!!

@MrsADS: they will probably grow more...with my first I went from a 32b to a 32DD! I bought a C but then waited for the DD. I'm waiting to grow more now! Yay about the graduation to OB!

@MrsADS: Glad the SCH is getting smaller. At my u/s at 7w3d, the heartbeat was 153 and this week when I've checked it on my home Doppler (by counting, the reading on the screen doesn't always catch it because it's still relatively quiet), it has been close to 180. My son's was usually in the 140's. I think it can fluctuate quite a bit, so try not to worry!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend! My first OB appointment still seems like it is years away...the 29th!

Well, starting last night, the m/s is back in full awful force, worse than before if possible ... I guess this is payback for having one good day.

Sorry I've been MIA around here ladies.
Do you guys think morning sickness vomiting and stomach flu vomiting feel different? I woke up at 2:00am with a horrible stomach ache, so I ate some crackers, which usually calms it. But it didn't go away. Eventually I threw up and it just seemed different, maybe more acidic? (Sorry if TMI). I'm hoping it was a one off and the toast I'm about to eat will stay down!

My MS has been much better lately - but ohhhh, the emotions! I cried while finishing a book yesterday, and then about 7 times during the Golden Globes.

@OhCaptain: I had a little bit of the flu over the holidays, and I think I puked once or twice from stomach issues (not MS.) The only reason I think it may have been different is because when I'm throwing up with MS, I usually feel better right afterwards - when it was from the flu, I still felt miserable. Not sure if that's the same in all cases - but I definitely hope you feel better soon!

We should get our screening results this week! I'm so nervous! Trying to focus on the finding out the sex aspect, to keep from freaking out worrying, but it's hard! Really hope we get them sooner than later!

  13. Mrs. J

    pomelo / 5132 posts

@OhCaptain: Did you feel better after you puked? Hope you're feeling better!

I'm feeling somewhat better today, so I'm hoping that's here to stay! No puking in a few days, so that's nice.

I feel like I'm showing at work though! I feel so bloated that I can barely suck it in.

  14. raspberries

    pear / 1955 posts

@Torchwood: Ahhh, that's so exciting - do you know what day you get the results?

  15. OhCaptain

    kiwi / 696 posts

@Mrs. J: no, I didn't get immediate relief after throwing up, and then after I posted this morning, I threw up the water I drank. But, I've been ok since then. I've only had a piece of dry toast, half a clif bar and some Gatorade today, and my tummy still hurts. I don't think it's morning sickness., but I don't have a fever either, so hopefully it passes soon.
    Ugh-I'm so over this trimester.

@raspberries: They just said 8-10 days and my blood draw was Tuesday. So I'm hoping for this week, but it could be next. There's a small chance it was too early too, so they might have to do it again if results are inconclusive. Really hoping that's not the case!

    nectarine / 2086 posts

@torchwood: can't wait for you to find out!! do you have a gut feeling?

@OhCaptain: so sorry you're feeling crummy. Hope it's not the flu!

Sooo, how many best friend types have you all told your pg so far? are you planning to let more know or just wait til 12 Wks at this point? I've told 3 besties, and have 3 more I want to tell but I can't seem to pull the trigger! I'm 10 Wks tomw.

  18. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@buttermilk: I'm leaving towards boy, but I think that's more because I really want a girl.

I've only got two best friends, and I already told them both weeks ago. One before I told DH! (He doesn't believe it until he sees a clear line, so I told her when I got a major squinter. I had to tell someone!)

Sorry I don't post on here too often! I'm still around, though. I've been having some crazy emotions lately. Last night I had a major breakdown because I couldn't find DS two matching socks. I don't understand where all his socks go! I've also blown up on DH a few times for virtually no reason, which I feel bad about. You'd think he would've learned from the first time around not to try rationalizing with me about anything when I'm being a crazy pregnant lady; it only makes it worse. We had a conversation about it last night and I think he understands now. My face has also broken out horribly. It's so depressing! And the fatigue...oh how tired I am all. the. time.

Just a lot of whining from me right now!

@OhCaptain: sounds like a stomach bug to me rather than ms. I hope you feel better soon!

@Torchwood: Hope you get your results back this week. How exciting!

@buttermilk: so far I've told 7 friends. My best friend where I currently live; my best friend from the last city I lived in; and then my best friends from college and high school. I've also told my birth month group from my first pregnancy that I still keep in regular touch with. I barely told anyone before 13 weeks with my first pregnancy...quite different than this time! I kind of wish I hadn't told so many people yet. I have my first trimester screening next week and for some reason I feel paranoid that I'm going to get bad news. Hopefully that's not the case.

  20. lilteacherbee

    cantaloupe / 6791 posts

@Torchwood: So exciting!! I remember being so impatient waiting for the results last time. They called me exactly one week later, so hopefully it's soon for you!

@OhCaptain: Oh no, hope you feel better soon! I don't ever throw up (like literally 3 times in the past 15 years), so when I get nauseous I get really bad anxiety. Not so fun when you're pregnant...

@buttermilk: I've told people as it comes up (other than my best friend, who knew the next day!) People at work and extended family still don't know. Having had a previous miscarriage, I tend to tell people who I know I'd want their support if I needed it.

Finally started going to the gym! It's such a joke though, with how bad of shape I'm in. People assume since I'm not overweight that I must be in decent shape. Ha ha ha, NO. I can't do the elliptical for more than about 5 minutes, if that gives you some idea. But I'm going with DH three times a week now. I'll do the elliptical as long as I can, then the treadmill. Starting with just a mile on that, but I think I'll up it a little each week until I reach a good distance, whatever that winds up being. I know that sounds like nothing, but for me it's real cardio! And I don't want to push myself super hard while pregnant. I'm not doing any weight type things now, but when I work at the library I do a lot of shelving, which is constant up and down. I'm more or less doing squats and stair steps (up on the stool for high shelves) for three hours straight. That's only once a week right now, but planning to go to at least two days soon. So, that seems like a good start, right? I know it's not much to someone who works out, but for someone who never, ever does, it seems decent.

@Torchwood: good for you! Don't measure what you do against someone else, you just do what you can do and be proud! The hardest step is just going to the gym in the first place!

I had my first official prenatal visit today. (I've had a confirmation visit and ultrasound so far.) It was fairly uneventful except they drew 5-6 vials of blood (!!!) and decided to go ahead and give me an early gestational diabetes test due to my family history. I wish I'd known they were going to do the glucose test early, because I'd just eaten lunch on my way to the doctor's office. Now I just have to sit back and wait for the results. I've been feeling queasier than usual since drinking the glucose drink too.

I go back for my next prenatal appointment in a month. In the meantime, they've put in a referral for me to get the genetic blood testing and ultrasound done. Those will be at the hospital instead of the doctor's office, so I'm still waiting on a date for an appointment. She said that it would be sometime before 14 weeks, and I'm 9 weeks now.

We have a midwife appt tomorrow, hoping to hear heartbeat.

Tights suck. I didn't remember having issues like this with DS, but when I was 11 weeks it was warm and spring!

When will y'all go public? I think we are waiting until 13 weeks, which is what we did last time. Seems like forever, but it's two more weeks for me!

I've told the important people (close family and close friends) every one else can find out through Facebook or through others. Not sure yet if I'm even going to announce on Facebook this time though.

Counting down to my ultrasound on Tuesday (the 20th)- keep getting thoughts in my head that baby hasn't grown etc so hopefully everything is good!

Had a dream about the baby last night - that it's a girl and is 7lbs 3oz when born so that was interesting!

@MrsStar: wow that a pretty specific dream haha!

@Mrs. J: I have my NT scan next week, so we'll probably start telling people at our school then (I'll be 11.5 weeks). I'm hoping they can keep it off FB for another week or so. I want to announce when we find out gender. We should get the blood test results when I'm around 13 weeks!

  30. MrsStar

    nectarine / 2994 posts

@lilteacherbee: only thing was the baby was born somehow through an ultrasound machine instead of labor and birth hahaha

  31. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@Mrs. J: Oh, I'm exhausted. I've been sleeping 12+ hours a night. But DH has started going and encouraging me to, so I figured with his support I can do it. I felt really guilty for not working out last time, but by the time we got around to researching gyms I had started getting BH's every few minutes if I was even on my feet too long, so I couldn't.

We've already told some parents, and we're going to officially announce once we have genetic screening results and have heard the heartbeat. If all goes well that means mid-late next week, when I'll be 11.5 weeks.

Congrats to the good appointments lately, and good luck to the upcoming ones!

I just realized, we may have to announce a bit sooner than we planned. I was interviewed a few months ago about my abortion by a reporter for Mother Jones. She wound up not running the story then (don't know why), but she contacted me today to see if she could use it for a different article that's coming out this week. I mentioned that I was pregnant again, so if she puts that in, she'll be announcing to the world for us! I didn't think about it when I told her. But it'll only really be a week early, so not a huge deal, right?

  35. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

Also, last thing and I'll quit posting so much. How many of you have had pelvic exams this pregnancy, or know they're planNing on giving you one? I never had one with any of my previous pregnancies, but they said at my 9 week appointment that I'd have one next time (14-15 weeks). I sent an email today asking if it was actually necessary and basically refusing it if they don't require it. Pelvic exams are always painful for me, and having to do the whole feet in stirrups thing would be very triggering for me. I was just surprised since I've never had that before. (And I was with the same midwives until around 24 weeks last time.)

  36. MrsStar

    nectarine / 2994 posts

@Torchwood: I won't have any pelvic exams until labor (to check dilatation) Didn't have any until labor last time either. But I know we tend to do things differently here

  37. Mrs.Scientist

    cherry / 211 posts

@Mrs. J: Other than close friends and our parents, we haven't told anyone yet. I'm hoping to keep it quiet to the rest of the world until mid-Feb (so like 15-16 weeks?) for career purposes. I may have a heck of a time hiding it physically for that long though so we'll see. We probably won't go public on Facebook until we learn the gender on March 17.

@Torchwood: I had a pelvic exam at my last appointment but I was due for a pap and have a history of a couple abnormal paps so didnt want to miss it. That'll probably be it.

  38. OhCaptain

    kiwi / 696 posts

@Torchwood: with my first I had one at my first appointment, around 8 weeks. They told me it was because my last Pap had been more than six months prior. No idea if I'll get one tomorrow.

  39. buttermilk

    nectarine / 2086 posts

@Mrs. J: our next appt is at 13 Wks so I think we will go public later that day! Just 3 more weeks.

@Mrs.Scientist: I too have been so irrational lately. I'm either crying or yelling at DH, tho it's gotten better since our ultrasound. I think a lot of it was anxiety. But it's like I just fly off the handlebars so much more quickly these days.

    @OhCaptain: good luck today!

@Torchwood: I had a pelvic exam at my first appt but i didn't mind at all. I was eager for her to give me any signs that I was actually pregnant! In fact that's the only sign I got. They didn't confirm my pregnancy in any way, basically just assumed I was pg!

  40. getjazzy

    persimmon / 1179 posts

@Torchwood: They only did pelvic at the end for me last pregnancy or if you were not up to date on your PAP/physical exam but I was up to date on mine both pregnancies so no exams until 39 weeks or so.

@Mrs. J: We will probably go public next week. We have our NT scan on monday and then I just need to suck it up and tell my boss and then we will be able to tell everyone. I think we will call family and friends that we want to know directly from us and then I'm sure just let it out on facebook. I don't think we'll do a huge announcement or anything though unless DH wants one. We haven't chatted about it. I'm feeling the same way I did about my last pregnancy though.. I was so anxious about being able to tell people and then when the time actually came, I dragged my heels for 3-4 days before I told people because for some reason I didn't feel ready to have everyone in on our secret haha

.@Mrs. J: @OhCaptain: Hope you have good appointments!
