Morning! Anyone else experienced this...
I wake up in the am with a super full bladder and go to the bathroom, but I've been finding it very hard to pee! Like I have to use so much effort and it comes out slowly. No pain or anything. I'm thinking it must be the uterus resting on my bladder or something? Idk, weird! I think it's only happened in the am but I'll have to pay attention the rest of the day.

@buttermilk: this happened to me a lot during my first pregnancy. Finally i read somewhere that if you lean forward, like waaaay forward while you are peeing it takes the pressure off your bladder, so it will actually empty. It worked for me!

@buttermilk: I second the leaning forward, and I also found that sitting up really, really straight helps. I don't remember having this problem until much later last time, but it's happened a few times lately.

@buttermilk: leaning forward definitely helps.
Ok, this week I am starting a bump thread because we are almost out of the first tri and I want to see those bumps!

@Mrs. J: yay for bump threads! I don't personally have one yet, but can't wait to see your all's!

I still don't have much of a bump looks-wise, but this weekend I went and bought a bunch of maternity clothes. I wore some of them yesterday, and they were so much more comfortable than my "real" clothes. My pants haven't buttoned well for several weeks, and it was getting really uncomfortable.

My first ultrasound is scheduled for Feb 6th but my sisters friend happens to be an overnight ultrasound tech so she snuck us in late last night for free! I finally saw the little nugget and its heart rate was 185! It measured exactly as far along as i thought i was (8w4d) and had tiny little arm and leg buds. DH couldn't come with me because this nurse was already sneaking in 3 preggos but i sent him the video and showed him the pics when i got home and he happy cried. it was so cute! haha

@MissLace: Awww, that's so awesome! And how cute that your hubby happy cried?!
@krispi: @Mrs. J: I just bought a bunch of maternity clothes too (thanks Old Navy/Gap sale!) I'm not sure if I have much a bump yet, but I'll be happy to add a pic of my bloat to the bump thread when it goes up.

@MissLace: that's so sweet!
@MissLace: @krispi: @raspberries: @buttermilk: I don't have much either, but it will be great to compare when we are further along!

I'm starting to feel a little better from my morning sickness. I'm 11 weeks, so hopefully it will be going away soon. I'm still vomiting in the morning and taking zofran, but I feel decent the rest of the day. DH has been gone on a business trip the last 5 days and gets home today! I'm so excited, not just because I missed him, but I really missed his help with our son. Toddlers are a handful!

@MissLace: so great! Glad you got a sneak peek... Must help calm the nerves of first trimester! My second one is in a little over a week, and I can hardly wait!

@MissLace: Thats adorable and super convenient that you could sneak in for a free scan!!
Had our NT scan today, everything went well. NT measured 0.7mm and baby measured 52mm for 11w5d. The tech didn't give all that much feedback because they can't but baby was moving around like crazy and all arms and legs were there and swinging! We are going to tell work and everyone else later this week!
Here's baby!

We had our NT scan today! Baby's measuring 2 days ahead with a heartbeat of 169 (looked it up and it's exactly the same as LO's at his NT scan). We did it at MFM and they did the blood draw for MaterniT21, so those results should be back sometime next week! Anatomy scan is scheduled for March 3rd!
Afterwards, I had an appt at the regular OB and they couldn't find the heartbeat with the Doppler, so I got another sneak peek at the baby! I'll have my early GD test in about a month, but in the meantime, they tested my A1C, so I'm curious about that.
Here's baby!

@autumnlove: @Anagram: @getjazzy: Thanks! I'm tempted to announce now, but I wanted to wait until we find out gender (next week!) and do it all at once! We'll definitely be telling the teachers at work tomorrow. DH wants to tell his third graders by putting up a picture of our LO with a speech bubble that says "I'm a big brother!" I teach 5 year olds so...not sure that I'll say anything quite yet lol
@buttermilk: 11.5 weeks!

@buttermilk: Shocked I haven't gotten a cold sore yet. I'm prone to them and on top of being pregnant, I'm sick right now too which should be recipe for disaster.

@Summerbebe: welcome!
Loving all these ultrasounds! I must say I'm feeling so much anxiety. 2.5 weeks til our NT scan and I am paranoid. I wish I had a Doppler or something (besides the MS!) to reassure me!

I told my dept chair and a coworker today. My principal was out of the building, so I'll probably tell her tomorrow. We are announcing publicly this weekend. My parents will call my aunts and uncles and we will post on FB. I'm 12 weeks tomorrow.
