Aww, DH told me I was getting surprise in the mail today, and it just showed up! We're planning to call this LO Daisy, since we don't like to tell/use the real name until after she's born, and he sent me a bouquet of daisies!

@lilteacherbee: Yay congrats!
Slightly jealous of those of you finding out gender this early!

@Ms. RV: Wow, how rude of that woman to react that way! Totally not her business.
@Mrs. J: I think I've possibly felt a little bit of movement the last three days as well. I know I might be imagining it, but it feels like the same popcorn popping feeling that I got with my first. They do say that veteran moms tend to feel movement earlier so maybe?

How far along are you? 13 weeks today
How are you feeling? Any symptoms? I've been feeling pretty crappy overall lately, but most of it is due to the fact that I had a cold that then turned into a horrible sinus infection about a week and a half ago. Also super tired but it's hard to know how much of that is due to being sick and having a 12m old and how much is due to the pregnancy.
Best reaction to your BFP news? We haven't told a whole lot of people yet but probably my best friend, who always gets really over-the-top excited about things.
Worst reaction to your BFP news? Another close friend who basically just said "oh." and then a few days later when I was whining about being sick asked why we decided to have a baby again so soon since I was just getting adjusted to having one child. I thought it was kind of a rude question.
Any appointments coming up? Feb 17, anatomy scan March 17
Anything else? Still trying to hide my bump at work which is becoming more difficult every day. I recently interviewed for a new job and it's kind of complicated why, but I don't want to tell my current boss about being pregnant until I know whether or not I will get the new job. Hoping I will hear either way about that this week so that I can finally come out of hiding!

@MrsADS: get your doctor to give you reglan! It only helps the nausea a tad, but it makes your tomach empty faster and it's make me poop more often. On zofran, I was going 6-7 days without going, and now I'm going every other day or so.
Actually with the unisom and reglan, I rarely have to take zofran now. I have to be off zofran for a good 3 days before I start going again. =(

@kjpugs: no better, but thanks for asking. Last time, my nausea wasn't totally gone till 17 weeks, so I'm in it for the long haul I think. I know I'm lucky that it does (hopefully) go away eventually but I don't feel lucky right now. Ugh

@Mrs. J: I think I've felt movement too, but then I think I'm insane because I didn't feel anything until 21 weeks last time!!

Just saw this and all this talk of being backed up made me feel like it's very relevant during pregnancy.

@Torchwood: @autumnlove: @OhCaptain: @MrsStar: @kjpugs: @Mrs. J: Thanks everyone!! We're very excited! Now the hard part is finalizing a name! We had LO's name picked out before I got pregnant, so I'm not used to having this hard of a time.
@Torchwood: That is so sweet!! And they're pretty!!

@OhCaptain: same here, exactly! Also now that we know what movement feels like more that may play into it.
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Mrs. J: I've felt a couple things that made me go "maybeee?" but then again, I had phantom kicks for a loooong time after giving birth. So basically, I have no idea lol
nectarine / 2262 posts
@lilteacherbee ohhh I feel you on that. I have some medical issues too and took the Miralax pre-preg but this is waaay worse!
@anagram I have thought about Reglan. For my past (pre-preg) GI issues, I took domperidone (essentially the same med as Reglan but not FDA approved for various reasons). I think it would help me but I am nervous about taking Reglan due to side effects issues - my GI prefers me not to take it.
@torchwood OMG that is so perfect. I am totally guilty for bringing the TMI poop talk, haha. I knew I was backed up but too backed up to see anything on the ultrasound?! OMG.
I have taken 3 doses of Miralax today

@Mrs. J: So exciting!
@Torchwood: Yes! I hate being constipated, so I can totally relate to that.

My cold is pretty much gone, which I'm so happy about, but I think my cold was masking my nausea. I really thought my morning sickness was pretty much gone, but today I felt nauseous all day long. I threw up twice as soon as I woke up this morning. I could barely eat anything all day - just half a bagel and one piece of fruit. When DH came home from work, he brought a pizza and told me to eat something. I ate one slice and had a breadstick. I knew I felt queasy, but I really wanted to try to eat. Then an hour later, I threw everything up! It's so frustrating, because I know I need to eat, but I have no appetite and I'm struggling to keep food down.

Ok so if you guys are ok with poop talk (love it) what are you taking for the constipation? My rare poops are basically childbirth but instead of a baby it's a rock studded with broken glass. I need to make this better AND I'm pretty sure I have hemmrhoids going on too and have NO clue what to do.

@kjpugs: I try to drink lots of water, and take metamucil but what seems to help me the most is milk of magnesia. After 2 days of no poop I take it and it flushes my system and then it takes another day before everything stops again, and the cycles continues. Not great by any means, but at least I 'empty the tank' once every 4 days or so!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@Mrs. Microscope: does that make you have diarrhea? LOL like so zero to 60? Or just make it easier ?
pomelo / 5607 posts
@kjpugs: I take magnesium pills daily, and have yet to have any major backups. I'm feeling like it's not working as well lately though, so I'm thinking of upping the amount a bit. It will definitely cause some major discomfort if I overdo it though. I've been taking it for years, and it's supposed to be good for you for other reasons too. Also, I've read that it prevents morning sickness, and I've never had any with any of my pregnancies. No way to know if it's related, but I have noticed that what little nausea I've had is much, much worse when I'm constipated, so at the very least it's prevented that.
pear / 1930 posts
@kjpugs: I've taken milk of magnesia before, and things were just looser and smoother, but not diarrhea-ish. Drink plenty of water immediately after you take it or else you'll get bad pains. Some people do get borderline diarrhea so take it before you go to bed so it works in the morning.

@Torchwood: The flowers are sweet. I also got a good chuckle from tbe cupcake sign!
nectarine / 2262 posts
@kjpugs milk of mag is good. If I'm blocked up already fiber supplements (i.e. Metamucil) makes it worse. I'm all aboard the Miralax train. It's very gentle and you can adjust the dose based on what you need.

@kjpugs I take Colace morning and night with plenty of water. Every time I do go, I do a goofy celebration dance with a cheesy smile on my face. DH finds it hilarious. When did the highlight of my day become poop?? Ah, the joys of pregnancy!
pomelo / 5607 posts
@Ms. RV: Ha ha, thanks! I just got it with a Christmas gift card, and I love it! My kitchen has a sort of baking/cupcake theme. Though the weird part is that I don't actually like cupcakes. I love to make them, and I think they're cute, but no desire whatsoever to eat them. I'll take cookies or brownies anyday.
pear / 1788 posts
@kjpugs: hahaha, zero to 60! Nope, just like @Ms. RV said, looser and easier. Once I took a dose and a half and that was bad. Easy to adjust dosage too.
@MrsADS: I have heard good things about miralax and will have to look into trying it soon!

Are any of you ladies thinking about taking a prenatal yoga class? If so, have you done regular yoga classes before, and do you think someone who hasn't would be able to? How far along in your pregnancy did/will you start taking them?
I did kickboxing before I was KU, but all of the kicking has been getting more uncomfortable lately, so I'd like to take it down a notch. I've never done yoga before though, so I'm a little nervous about.
pear / 1788 posts
@raspberries: I started prenatal yoga at 5 weeks! I hadn't done any yoga since college. I find it really relaxing and the ladies who are farther along say it helps with all the aches and pains. The teachers at my studio are all doulas as well and they know a lot! I try to go 2-3 times a week!
cherry / 211 posts
@raspberries: Do it! With my first pregnancy I did prenatal yoga twice a week from about 20 weeks up to when I gave birth. It was my relaxing, happy time and it definitely kept me feeling good as I got bigger and bigger. You absolutely don't need to have practiced yoga in the past. I would like to start doing it again this pregnancy but I'm just not sure I will have the time anymore between juggling full-time work and a 12 month old. I might be able to go on Saturdays.

NT scan today went great!!! Besides the fact s/he refused to cooperate and get into proper position. After lots of changing positions and a bit of a sugar high from a cough drop, we got the shots we needed. So fun to watch Baby waving at us and doing what looked like Riverdance! Baby is still measuring a bit ahead, so they changed my due date to August 13. Feeling so relieved that everything so far is going well!

How far along? 14 weeks 2 days.
How are you feeling? Awful. Major nausea issues and now a stomach virus. I called off work today and tomorrow. I'm on Zofran and I'm ha in the constipation issues until the stomach bug temporarily took care of it.
Appointments I had my NT scan yesterday. Everything looks good. I also had the Harmony yest which is simliar to the Maternity 21 or Panorama. I get results in 10 days. Next OB appt is Feb 4th and my anatomy scan is March 17th.

I had an ultrasound today at my perinatologist appointment. I heard the heartbeat again and saw the baby move a lot!
@kayakgirl73: I'm sorry you feel so sick right now!
nectarine / 2994 posts
@Mrs. Microscope: Yay for a good NT scan! My lo didn't want to be in the right positions either so lots of position movements from me were needed to get the right shots.
@autumnlove: Yay! How many weeks are you now?
@kayakgirl73: I hope you feel better soon!
