Love all the sweet u/s pictures!

Going to tell my library people that I'm pregnant today. Super nervous! I don't even know how to say it. Like, do I sound excited? Or matter of fact? And I'll almost certainly get a "is this your first?" And I'm not sure how to answer. With strangers it's easy, but these are people that I could see getting to know quite well, so it seems disingenuous to just say yes, plus part of me hates to pretend R didn't exist. Gah, I hate this. Someone come do it for me?

    @MrsStar: week 9, day 4!

@Torchwood: I think that when it's someone you'll interact with lots (or if you want to!) you can ALWAYS say "no, we lost our daughter S very late in the pregnancy" as the answer to the question if it's your first. Obviously everyone reacts differently and some may make comments or say questions that make you sad, but I think it's always good to have it out there.

@Torchwood: I agree with @kjpugs. Don't ever feel ashamed to acknowledge R! Another way to answer might be to say 'yes, this will be my first live birth, we unfortunately lost our daughter R preterm'

Best of luck! Do what your heart tells you! And remember, you always have us ladies here for unconditional support.

@Mrs.Scientist: @Mrs. Microscope: Thanks ladies! I think I'm going to sign up for the Saturday prenatal yoga class and see how it goes!

@Torchwood: Good luck telling - I built it up and made it much more awkward in my head than it actually turned out to be!

@Torchwood: I definitely think you should mention R if you want to. I know, for myself, it would be hard to not acknowledge her somehow. Good luck!! I'm sure everyone will be excited for you!

Hi! I've been following along...I hope it's not too late to join in! Twice bitten, forever shy, I guess...

    Location: Arkansas

    EDD: 8/13

    How far along: 12 weeks!

    First child? Yep.

First doctor appointment: 6 weeks-ish? Last was yesterday.

Any symptoms so far? Pretty mild...although I'm starting to have a little more gas/bloating. Breasts are very firm. And my sleep is currently a wreck!

Who have you told? A few coworkers, DH's and my best friends...we're announcing to our families tomorrow!

Other things: our early cell-free DNA testing all came back "low risk"...and we found out yesterday that we're having a boy!!!

Feeling bummed. My NT scan is in a week and I was hoping to be "out" then. But I'm in a bit of a salary dispute with my boss (long story short my job responsibilities changed, more on my plate, got a raise, but they stopped paying for my car which negated the raise so now I do more work for the same pay as before.) I don't want to share at work until it's solved and I am out of hope that it will be before then. All my old coworkers from when I worked at corporate (before I moved to FL are my FB friends now and while they aren't on my team they interact with us sometimes. So I can't go "public" til this is solved. Anyone who knows me knows I like to lay it all out there on social media! So this is bumming me out!!! I just don't want it to factor into this financial discussion.

@kjpugs: I can sympathize. I'm also waiting to go public until I sort out some work stuff. I was hoping of get it figured out this week but as tomorrow is already Friday I'm not sure it's going to happen. I'm going to be 14 weeks on Tuesday and I'm not sure how much longer I can keep it under wraps (literally with this bump and figuratively). It's driving me nuts!

@FliegepilzHut: Welcome! Yay for another boy-mama-to-be!

@Torchwood: Did you get a chance to tell yesterday? How did it go?

@kjpugs: Ah, that sucks! I hope you get it resolved - that seems kind of underhanded, to raise your pay but take away the payment for your company car.

  24. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@raspberries: It seems like they're trying to play it off, "it wasn't pay it was for your car, you no longer travel" - well it's not like my car payment also went away!!! It's making me feel way less valued so I hope it can be resolved favorably so I can continue to work hard and feel good about it!!!!

  26. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@FliegepilzHut: Yay for joining us! I've been kind of confused, since I knew you were due really close to me, but I couldn't remember seeing you on here. But I understand waiting!

@raspberries: I did tell the "boss" (head librarian?) and it went well, thanks for asking! His response was "congratulations! Wait, it is congratulations, right? Then congratulations!" And then he rambled for a bit because that's what he does. The lady who I think will ask questions was out this week, so I got a reprieve.

Kind of annoyed. I'm supposed to be meeting with a doula today, but unless she looks nothing like her picture, she's not here. Unfortunately I don't have her number. I emailed her, but I don't know if it goes to her phone so that might not help. And their website is suddenly down so I can't even go check her picture again to be sure. No one is alone here anyway though.

  31. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@Mrs. J: Yeah, this is the perfect one. Aside from this, she pretty much could not be more perfect. She said she had some meetings this morning, so I'm going to assume something ran long. As long as it doesn't happen again, and she's apologetic, I'll be more than willing to overlook it. Though the fact that their website is also suddenly down has me randomly thinking worst case stuff like something happened to her, or maybe they suddenly shut down, or who knows. Overthinking!

ETA- Also, I'll be honest, I have so much social anxiety that a big part of me is relieved. I think I'm going to do more prep for another meeting, come up with a list of questions, etc. Planning always makes things less scary.

Those of you who are already feeling movement, or have before, what does really early baby stuff feel like to you? Last time I had an anterior placenta, so by the time I felt anything, it was very solid thumps and bumps. I'm 12w5d now, and keep feeling what I can only describe as little tickles like a bug is crawling on me, except inside. The location is right, based on what I can feel of my uterus. It's just so different from last time.

  33. kayakgirl73

    clementine / 750 posts

@Torchwood: I had an anterior placenta last time as well and I didn't feel a lot. This time it's posterior and I think I might have felt something yesterday.

  34. MrsStar

    nectarine / 2994 posts

@Torchwood: I *think* I've felt movement but I'm not 100% convinced yet. Early movements with LO1 (which I think I've felt with this pregnancy) have felt like bubbles popping in my belly or like a goldfish swimming around. That's the best way I can describe it!

  35. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Torchwood: I felt early movement like popping and saw it described as goldfish swimming or popcorn. Kind of like tapping almost. But I had anterior too so I barely had that last time. Going to ask on Friday where my placenta is this time! Wonder if the movements I maybe feel now are in my head or not.

I feel like I've been such a negative bummer on this board since day one! So I thought I should share what I'm most excited about this pregnancy and challenge you all to, too!

Since I probably shouldn't say "it being over!" Haha, I'm most excited to find out gender!!! Especially since we may wait til then to announce if work takes forever to resolve. It makes it so real!!!! And looking forward to seeing baby next week. And yay, only about 20 more weeks of nausea if last pregnancy is any indication! Haha!

    What about all of you!!!

  37. autumnlove

    hostess / wonderful watermelon / 39513 posts

@kjpugs: I am excited about gender/sex toooooo! My blood draw is on the 5th and I should know the following week. I feel a little nervous about the blood test and I hope the baby is healthy! FX!

  38. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@kayakgirl73: @MrsStar: @kjpugs: Thanks for the input. I just don't know! I guess if it continues and gets more noticeable, it's real?

@kjpugs: Hey, that's what we're here for! Gotta vent to someone! But I like the idea of sharing what we're excited about. I think, aside from the obvious, having a baby! I'm most excited about feeling strong movement again. I just loved that feeling! And while I'm sure I'll feel different when the time comes, I'm really looking forward to (hopefully) actually carrying to term and being all crazy huge and people telling me I look like I'm about to pop! I was reasonably big by the end (33 weeks) last time, but not huge. I have attention issues (hate feeling ignored!) so I like the attention from being pregnant.

Oh, and I'm super excited about hosting a baby celebration (shower but not?) this time! I loooove doing parties, and I was a little sad that you don't get to throw your own showers last time. But this time it actually makes sense to! I'm already pinning decoration and theme ideas (possibly some variation on "sweet" with candy and cupcake decor), and looking at invites.

I guess I'm excited about a lot of things! But focusing on what I'm excited about really helps me to not sit around worrying.

  39. kjpugs

    grapefruit / 4862 posts

@Torchwood: Throwing a party sounds so fun!!! I agree it helps so much to stop and focus on those things. I think we will do an early gender ultrasound again this time to give ourselves a "treat!"

  40. Torchwood

    pomelo / 5607 posts

@kjpugs: I just have to figure out how to spread the cost over a good amount of time so DH doesn't realize just how much I plan to spend on it. Or I have to really get him on board. With my Star Wars birthday last year, he actually picked out the prizes for the games, and it was over $40 for all of them. I was gonna go for about $10 total.

I hope you do find out early! I love finding out what ya'll are having!
