@Anagram: I'm horrible at guessing, but that's a cute baby!! Do you have a feeling either way?
@Ms. RV: The office that does my ultrasounds (perinatologist) always schedules them at 17 weeks for some reason.

@Ms. RV: I got mind early too. I saw my doctor at 14 weeks, will see her again at 18 weeks and she gave me mine too. But at my first appointment at 8 weeks she gave me my paper work for many tests that were not to be done immediately, including my NT scan etc.. I think she just likes to get it checked off the list.

@buttermilk: We discussed names early on and then haven't gone back to it since! We have some good options for girls (many of the same from when we had DS) but, like last time, we are struggling with boys names!!

@kjpugs: gotcha. Our boy middle name is my dad's name (and my FIL's name too, coincidentally) so it was easy. My dad passed away 6 years ago, so I know about the sentimentality of things like that. Could you use the name as a middle name even if your sister uses it as a first name?

@Buttermilk yes, I'm peeing at least 3x every night! My boobs are not as sore either like they were earlier in the first tri. And I'm still feeling crummy with the nausea... I am PRAYING it goes away soon, I'm 12 weeks tomorrow.
Edited to add, I'm not 11 weeks tomorrow, I'm 12 WEEKS tomorrow!! Very important!!!

@Ms. RV: I also got a RX for anatomy scan after my 13 wk appt but she told me to schedule for 20 and that they fill up quickly which is why I should call now to schedule.

@MrsADS: WOOHOO! 12 Wks!
There are so many baby names I like, but these two have just kind of stuck with me, I'm almost ready to call it, I didn't think it would be so easy! DH and I have mostly agreed on names which helps. Middle names will take a bit more deciding. It's a long 6 more months tho, maybe I'll change my mind!

You guys! I went shopping at gap today for some maternity things. Don't really need them yet but I'm hating my wardrobe in general so eager to shop!
Anyway I got 2 pairs of skinny maternity jeans at Gap on sale. One pair was $40 and the same pair in a different wash was $8!! Score! Got a shirt, tank, and thin sweater too. Check out their sale rack if you get a chance. We bought our first onesie too!
Also omg my DH snapped a pic of me with the fake baby bump on in the dressing room and posted in on Instagram! I wanted to kill him!

@lilteacherbee: Thanks. I think girl, just based off of my horrible MS, which is exactly like last time. But my family all thinks boy, for no reason other than the fact that I already have a girl, haha.

@Mrs. Microscope: Yep, we could! It's just the only name we like so we would have to go back to the drawing board. Ps- yay 12 weeks! I am today!!!!

The nursery furniture is here! It's pretty cheap, so we have to put it together ourselves, and DH said we can do it tomorrow! We'll finish the painting in the nursery (just some touch ups to the walls, and then the baseboards), then put that together. And we got the closet organization system, so hopefully we can do that too. I'm so excited! We never did anything in the nursery last time, and it was something I had been looking forward to. I can't wait to work on it now!

@Torchwood: that's so exciting! You'll have so much fun putting it together tomorrow

@Torchwood: So exciting!! That was one of my favorite parts with LO! With this second kid, I figure since LO stayed in the RnP for 5 months and then the crib in our room until a year, we've got some time

@Anagram: Haha my family all said girl, I think because we already have a boy. But they were wrong and I was right!

So my BFF told me a couple weeks ago that she is pregnant!! I'm so excited I could burst! She hasn't been to the doctor yet, but she thinks she's due at the end of September, so we're about 6-7 weeks apart! We've known each other since kindergarten and were college roommates/bridesmaids/etc and now we live in the same neighborhood!

@lilteacherbee: that's awesome! My BFF is due in May! It was unexpected for her and her BF so we can't stop saying how crazy this is and we never thought it would happen. But we live in Fl and she's back home in NJ. Same neighborhood sounds AMAZING!!!!!

Ugh, you guys, I was so so sick last night from m/s. I thought I was gonna die. It's better this morning, just queasy, not horrible.
Ladies who are a little farther along (I'm about 12wks), WHEN did the m/s finally improve?!?! I need hope!
pear / 1930 posts
@MrsADS: Mine has started to clear up, as in I am still sick in the morning and only felt sick a few nights last week instead of every. (I'll be 14w tomorrow). In all fairness, even when I'm not KU I am sick in the morning this time of year from post nasal drip, so I'm a litle desensitized.
nectarine / 2262 posts
@Ms. RV thanks!! That is helpful. A lot of people have said it will start to taper off by 14-15 weeks, so I hope that is the case. My mom was super, super sick with me (sicker than I have been) and she said she felt good by 16w, so I am hoping that will be the case!

@MrsADS: I am 14 weeks and starting to feel good. Still exhausted though. With DS, around 15 weeks.
kiwi / 696 posts
@MrsADS: I'm 15 weeks, and around 13 weeks it was almost gone, just the random puking (like one time in a week) and the occasional blah feeling. Then 14.5 weeks arrived and I puked twice and the blah feeling returned more frequently, but nothing like weeks 7-12.

We had a successful shopping day yesterday, and now I have a bunch of baby gear to organize and store. We found a used Ergo carrier, a play gym, and some blankets and towels at a consignment sale. Then we went to Babies R Us and found our travel system on major clearance and a Rock n Play way marked down too. Having a stroller and a car seat in the house makes it feel so much more real. We looked at furniture too, but we're waiting on our tax return to make that purchase.

@krispi: nice finds!
@torchwood: are you still feeling baby movements? I can't wait for that!
nectarine / 2994 posts
@MrsADS: My ms started to clear up at 14 weeks and is even better at 15 weeks, I still puke once in the morning every few days but I feel good the rest of the day and have more energy finally
nectarine / 2994 posts
@krispi: Yay for a successful day!
We have all the furniture set up already since it's LO1's old set so I can't do anything more until we know the gender

We registered today at BRU! Just a few things to get started, stroller and car seat, swing, rock n play, bottles, baby carrier and a few odds and ends. We will flush it out online over the next few months. No furniture for us, we are just going to get a pack n play with a mattress and put it in our guest room. Our condo isn't our forever home, we have such limited space and it helps save money so I can splurge on other fun things!
kiwi / 641 posts
@Mrs. Microscope: so fun! I feel like registering starts to make things seem more real since this is our second we don't need a lot but I have started a private registry on Amazon for a few things I want to replace or that we need two of. Even that was fun!
pear / 1788 posts
@krispi: sounds like you got some steals! I hope I can find some deals if my big ticket items are not purchased on the registry! (Guessing I'll be using gift cards and coupons for those anyways!)
@abmamma: @MrsStar: @Torchwood: doesn't it feel more real now, actually getting physical items ready for a baby? So much fun! I feel more prepared now, even though I still have a ton to do!
grapefruit / 4862 posts
@MrsADS: I'm also in the throws of it. With DD I was on zofran til 32 weeks. Sooooo... I'm not holding out much hope for this one! I didn't have that magic 2nd tri that most people do.
eggplant / 11716 posts
@MrsADS: Last pregnancy, I think it started getting slightly better around 14 weeks, way better at 17 weeks, and by 20ish weeks I was totally, completely normal? It was a long fade, not a miraculous-in-on-day change.
I keep telling myself I just have to hang on till week 14. I'm on enough meds to tranquilize a horse and I still feel so.shitty.all.day.long.

Anyone else experiencing heart palpitations? This is my 3rd occurrence in the past week or so. Lasts for several minutes or more.
I'm sure it's harmless and just from the extra blood pumping but it's such an uncomfortable feeling!
pomelo / 5607 posts
@buttermilk: There was a thread about this recently. I believe the consensus was that it's normal but worth mentioning to the doctor.
persimmon / 1179 posts
@buttermilk: I had them tons with my first LO and I have them occasionally with this one too. I would mention to your doctor just so they are aware but it's normal!
