@pwnstar: I have one and like it a lot. But it's cut kind of high. it shows under anything with a vneck.
Maybe I'm just going to have to get over my polyester prejudice.

@Silva: @Zbug: @coopsmama: @agold: @pwnstar: @MrsSCB: thanks for the reassurance, ladies. especially nice to hear that normal pregnant people get sick and don't totally freak out I was worried about listeria/toxoplasmosis, but I don't think I ate anything that wasn't really thoroughly heated. Just going to take some tylenol and ride it out. I feel like I've been hit by a truck.
@agold: hemorrhaging blood?! jeez. glad everyone was okay.
@pwnstar: great to hear the CVS went well
is anyone here not finding out gender besides @Silva? seems like this time next month just about everyone who wants to know will know? we are finding out at the NT in a week, I'm starting to let myself get a little excited.
@Pirouette: @Silva: I'm not showing at all yet (11w tomorrow, first timer here) but I'm starting to bloat out of my pants enough to give this some thought. I just ordered some Ingrid & Isabel leggings and a cute striped dress that was like $27 on Amazon:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B010UO6T82?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Also have heard that Asos.com and TopShop (they sell it through Nordstrom) have cute maternity stuff. I doubt the quality is any good, but it's cheap and they both have free shipping.
ETA: my husband just texted me that he's getting sick and is nauseated, too, and my reaction is relief that it's a contagious virus and not listeria. I am merciless

@LCTBQE: eek, sorry about the stomach bug going through your house, but yay not listeria?! That dress is cute! I'm only 10 weeks so I'm not showing yet either, and don't expect to be in maternity clothes for a while, but I did buy some shirts and dresses a size up from my normal size so I'm prepared for the in between phase

@Silva: I'm having the same problem! My local Gap and Old Navy removed their maternity sections (Gap just last week). The other Old Navy has a teeny tiny maternity section that's a mess. I don't remember it being so hard to find stuff last time. I keep seeing a lot of really blousy tops or just solids or horizontal stripes. I remember feeling kind of frumpy when I wore loose tops last time, so I really only want to buy more fitted stuff this time. And online shopping is annoying when you have to return stuff that doesn't fit. So, yeah, I'm super helpful, ha! Maybe LOFT maternity will work? A lot of the tops are flowy, so I don't know.....

@LCTBQE: If you back up to look at the most recent due date board, anyone with a is not planning to find out. Only 3 of us, I believe.

Hi ladies! Sorry I've been MIA for so long. Life has been very hectic, but things have settled down some, and morning sickness is easing up - yay! I hope everyone and their babies are doing well!
DH is doing great - he has a non life threatening heart condition and has had to make some dietary changes. Baby is doing well and we finally got to see the heartbeat last week. It's feeling more real now
Is anyone planning on throwing a gender reveal party? I've been playing with the idea a lot!

@Glitter: Hi again! Glad it wasn't anything TOO serious going on with your husband, and that all is well with the baby! I don't think we'll be doing any gender reveal party -- we don't live near family, so we'll probably just skype with them to tell them. I would love to go to one, though, I think it sounds fun
So this morning, I thought I saw a little bump while I was lying down and felt a little excited. Then I burped and it went away... stupid bloating! hahaha

@Glitter: Hi!
I dont think we will do a reveal party, this is baby #3 and we have one of each.
pomelo / 5257 posts
@T.H.O.U.: Glad I'm not the only one! I was totally about to point it out to my husband, too, like, "Look, a tiny bump!" lol
wonderful clementine / 24134 posts
@MrsSCB: No, I think as your stomach and intestines are pushed around, you feel general stomach stuff differently.
pear / 1718 posts
@T.H.O.U.: @MrsSCB: I get more bloated as the day wears on . . . by about 9 p.m., I look a bit pregnant. Then, once the gas/bloating goes away, I'm back to looking pretty much normal (well, except for the weight I have already gained . . . that won't go away for a while!)
@Glitter: So glad to hear your DH and LO are doing well! We didn't do a gender/sex reveal for our first, and I don't plan to for this one (although I think they're cute!). But we will know the sex soon, and will announce the sex when we announce the pregnancy (we haven't announced yet . . . only a few close friends know).
@Silva: @LCTBQE: @Pirouette: 12 weeks here (and a second-timer) and still no bump either. Except for the gas/bloat belly that appears every evening as I slowly inflate during the day! I feel like Violet (you're turning Violet Violet!) in Willy Wonka . . . !

@Glitter: so glad to hear that everything is OK! we're not doing any kind of gender reveal - i think they are so much fun but I can't really get my act together to plan anything
@T.H.O.U.: I feel like the stomach being pushed around thing is affecting me much more this time than it did last time! I don't remember having so much gas/bloating/discomfort!

@LCTBQE: we won't be finding out the gender either!
Everything's going good here. I'll be retaking the Panorama at 15 or 16 weeks so hopefully it goes better this time My birth mother is coming to visit this weekend whom I haven't seen in 12 years (long story but she pretty much didn't want my sister or I and my dad ended up with full custody shortly after I was born) and I'm not sure how I feel about it. She's just one of those people that wasn't meant to have children I guess and our relationship has been rocky my whole life because I carry resentment. I do find it funny that she decides to come for a visit after she found out about the pregnancy
She did the same to my sister 12 years ago when she had her first. She didn't even come to my wedding a couple years ago. Argh,I dunno. I'm sure it will be fine and we are on decent terms now, it's just going to be strange and new I suppose. I'm glad DH will finally get to meet her though.

@mrschickpea: Wow she didn't even come to your wedding. It sounds like you have great reason to have some concerns but I'm sure it will be fine. How far apart do you guys live?

OMG YOU GUYS MY PANORAMA TEST IS BACK!

@JoJoGirl: Ahhhh, congrats!!!
@mrschickpea: I hope the visit goes well, that sounds like a difficult situation

@mrschickpea: Wow. That must be really challenging. I hope the visit goes as well as possible.

@JoJoGirl: OMG!!!!!!! YAY!!!! in a totally unscientific manner (meaning based on nothing), I'm expecting that this one will be a girl too. I was just thinking yesterday how awesome it would be to give LO a sister - a lifelong best friend! my brother and I aren't very close, and I always wanted a sister growing up. EEEK so excited for you!!!! your husband will be excited one he gets used to the idea, just like i'm sure he was about your first!

@Pirouette: THANKS!! For some reason I got immediately nervous because most of the people I know with sisters have SO MUCH DRAMA. I've always loved having brothers and it's made me much better at relating to men. So I love any positive stories of sisters
pomegranate / 3331 posts
@mrschickpea: ugh, i'm so sorry. I can't believe she didn't come to your wedding. I don't blame you for harboring some resentment there. I hope the visit is short and sweet

Wow I've missed a lot! Just now catching my breath as my trip lasted an extra half a day. I had such a great time out west with my girls but am so happy to be home! I was originally supposed to depart Denver at 4ish and arrive on Tuesday evening at 9:30 pm but plane issues on earlier flights in the day delayed us from departing until 12:30 am! This got me home at 5:15 am on Wednesday. while it was quite unfortunate, the airline did a lovely job of keeping the passengers informed and up to date on what was happening and what we could expect. They brought in pizza, snacks and water and did what they could to get us out of there as quickly as possible. I have never been so glad to have worn a big coat with a hood and packed extra healthy snacks and a huge scarf that ended up doubling as a blanket when I decided to take a nap.
Other highlights of the trip were eating dinner at work & class (go here if you visit Denver, such a unique concept with totally approachable but FANCY food). Checking out First Draft where they had Kombucha on tap, and subsequently where I shared with my friends that we were expecting. This place was another really cool concept that was like a Froyo shop for beer. Two HUGE days of skiing and eating in Vail where we got a little over 2 feet of snow. I was in heaven, baby loves powder turns!! Wishing you all a great rest of your week and hope to be caught up soon!

@JoJoGirl: haha I've always related to men better too...but always thought that would've been different if i had a sister I just think a sister is an amazing gift to give your LO!
pear / 1718 posts
@mrschickpea: Fwiw, I hope you don't feel obligated to let her (or anyone, for that matter) be any more a part of your family's life than you're comfortable with. It's not anyone's *right* to be a grandparent. I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Family can be so, so stressful. Just remember it's okay to say no and to set boundaries. I have had to do that with a few close family members myself.
@JoJoGirl: Congratulations!
@MrsKerch: Sounds like an awesome trip, even with the delays coming home!

@mrschickpea: it'll go better next time! are you getting an NT, or just the repeat blood test? hang in there
and major woof about the mom visit... if it helps, you might try building in a couple of short activities for yourself while she's there to break it up a bit, like maybe you could go to an exercise class one morning or make a trip (by yourself) to Central Market? And you can claim pregnancy exhaustion and go to bed at 9pm, and just read and relax for a while it'll be over before you know it. ETA: yep, everything @pwnstar said.

@T.H.O.U.: I haven't heard of stitch fix maternity! Thanks for mentioning it.
@LCTBQE: I'm starting to feel some bloat too. Meh.
@Glitter: I'm so glad to hear from you and that your husband and baby are doing well. I didn't plan to do a gender reveal, or even any sort of "announcement". But my husband thinks it would be fun to bring a cake or something over to my mom's house to do a little "reveal" soon with a handful of family. Although, our ultrasound yesterday may have already revealed the gender to us!
@mrschickpea: So interesting about your mom. At least you are happy that your husband will get to meet her. I hope that it all goes well! And for the record, I second @pwnstar: 's advice.
@JoJoGirl: Hooray for sisters!! That's so sweet. Bummer for your husband. But sisters are the best! I had a lot of drama with my sister growing up, but we are now the closest ever! I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. Its definitely worth teen drama.
