@mrs. 64: I can make you feel SO much better... .last night we were making homemade cookies and I ate the dough not even thinking. My husband looked at me and said "aren't you not supposed to eat raw eggs or something?" WHOOPS.

@mrs. 64: I was very conservative with the "no list" with M and plan to do the same with this one. I did have a cold cut sandwich last week but it was a OOPS! The ILS invited us over for dinner last night; roast beef sandwiches and chicken noodle soup. I just declined the rb sandwiches.
I'm crazy and will abstain from raw fish, raw eggs, not well done meats, cold cuts, soft serve ice cream, alcohol, full caff coffee (only one cup of caffeinated tea a day). It's a pain for the 9 months but totally worth it for my piece of mind.

I was really strict about what I shouldn't eat the first time around. I still avoid most things on the "no list" but I've had deli meat and a soft serve cone once. I am having major food aversions along with my morning sickness so I guess that helps. The thought of coffee or alcohol is not a pleasant one right now!

@mrs. 64: I'm not being crazy about it - i had a sub a week ago because i actually forgot i wasn't supposed to eat it but i didn't have a panic attack or anything. To be honest, nothing much sounds too good to me right now so i'm not having a problem avoiding some things, but i've also had eggs over easy. I've definitely cut back on caffeine, drinking green tea instead of coffee and obviously no alcohol or raw fish but i'm not being too overly crazy about it. I just can't take the stress.

I'm barely avoiding anything. I'm not a fan of coke, alcohol, or coffee, so that's easy. And I'm avoiding raw meat/fish and eggs. And DH wants me to limit peanuts
Other than that, bring on the cold cuts and (pasteurized) brie!

Hi August Mamas! I am due August 6th! Trying to combat morning sickness and fatigue and really just lack of wanting to do anything! Oh and I can't stand the site of vegetables... I used to be a healthy eater... Congratulations to everyone!

@T.H.O.U.: Yeaaa!! I am so glad to hear this. I have been struggling through these past few weeks, and we wanted to tell our families before announcing elsewhere. I'm so glad that there are some other 6+ monthers on here with me! Congrats everyone!

Had my first appt today and she's going to get me booked in for an ultrasound in the next couple weeks.
I've got nausea most of the day but snacking every couple hours seems to help the most. Haven't thrown up yet so hopefully that continues.

@Claire.Peonies: yayyyy so happy to see you here! i feel so comfy and nice on this board to see so many familiar names from the 6+ thread!!! sorry you aren't feeling well - i totally feel ya! I am usually a pretty healthy eater and i have been eating like crap because i am just eating whatever doesn't make my stomach turn. for example, tonight's dinner was a bowl of cinnamon toast crunch cereal. Hope this passes for the both of us!
I threw up tonight. yay......

@Claire.Peonies: Welcome and congratulations! Vegetables and I are temporarily no longer friends either. My husband asked if he should buy brocolli (he normally doesn't do the grocery shopping, but my food aversions are keeping me away) and the mention of it made me sick! This happened during my first pregnancy and once I reached 20 weeks it mostly went away....hoping for the same this time.

@xInfinity: hope your u/s is soon! i'm getting antsy now that its next wed! and hope the nausea goes away.
looks like next week will be a busy one as far as first appts/us! i'm definitely getting more anxious the closer it gets. i don't have many symptoms at all besides spotting/bleeding and occasional nausea. it was similar to my first so i'm hoping that this is all normal. can't wait for next wed!!

@locavore_mama: either that or i'm having the worst case of a stomach virus!!
@kodybear: ugh i am SO nervous for my appointment i have nightmares about it!!!!

@locavore_mama: I totally busted out the rubber band for my pants this week! need to find the belly band over the weekend.... only 2 people know at work and I feel like my weight gain is going to become pretty obvious very quickly!

Is anyone planning on doing bump pics? Are you wearing the same thing every time or just whatever you happen to have on? Where are you taking them?
I just tried to do some as a baseline and they look terrible. They are definitely not like the cute stuff you see on pinterest.
pomegranate / 3604 posts
@locavore_mama: nope! Thank goodness for extra fluff. Last time I didn't Show until he dropped around 35 (?) weeks. (I have a lot of extra fluff, mmmkay?)
pomelo / 5228 posts
@mrs. 64: Definitely not yet! I think its going to depend on how I look with a bump I'm starting out with a bit of a belly, so it may take a while...
pear / 1616 posts
@mrs. 64: yep! i did it with my first and vowed to not slack for the second (being a middle child and all.. :-)). i'll prob start at 9 weeks if all goes well next week. last time i wore the same thing... i think i'll probably wear the same thing this time around, just gotta figure out what. i'll probably either do it in my bedroom or the future nursery. the wall color is the same so it won't make much of a diff

@Claire.Peonies: Popping over from the July board to say congrats! So excited for you! Love to see all the 6+ month mamas on here
nectarine / 2936 posts
@Mrs.Someone: I hear ya. I decided I needed a shot of what I look like before I start to show. Unfortunately I already look like I have a bump and it's definitely not baby! I decided to suck it in a bit for the pic. I probably won't do another one for a few weeks, but I feel like I will show early since I already have pudge.
@kodybear: So far I'm going with black shirt in front of the shower curtain. Our "nursery" is a junk room right now and I couldn't find anywhere else in the house that had enough lighting to serve as a good backdrop.
