    Can't believe I'm here!

    EDD: August 28

    When Did You Find Out?: December 17

    Child Number: 1!

    Where You Live: VA

    What kind of provider will you see?: obgyn

    When's Your First Appointment?: More betas at the RE on Monday (12/23). Haven't booked an appointment with the OB yet.

    What kind of birth do you want?: Healthy baby and mom

    What You're Most Excited For: A baby of course!

    What You're Most Scared About: Miscarriage and HG. My mom had terrible HG in both pregnancies and it tends to run in families so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

    Symptoms so far: I actually tested because I had NO symptoms and thought it was weird. I've had cramps yesterday and today. I know they say that is normal, but they still make me nervous.

    Ok, here is the official intro:

    EDD: August 18 although already measuring large and this is baby #2
    When Did You Find Out?: December 12, just over a week ago!
    Child Number: 2, my daughter was born August of 2011
    Where You Live: FL
    What kind of provider will you see?: obgyn
    When's Your First Appointment?: First ultrasound was yesterday 12/19. Measuring 5w6d with a 98 HR. OB also added progesterone.
    What kind of birth do you want?: Any, just make it home with a baby. I delivered vaginally with my daughter after an induction and was happy with that.
    What You're Most Excited For: Another August baby.
    What You're Most Scared About: Making it to the second tri.
    Symptoms so far: Nothing really which isn't too unusual.

    So, interesting fact, with my daughter, my LMP was 11/11 and obviously my due date was also originally set at 8/18. Based on size that date changed to 8/14 and she was delivered on 8/11 (induced on 8/9). This pregnancy has the same LMP date and same EDD based on that too. I wonder how close these pregnancies can get!

    @T.H.O.U.: congrats, welcome, and that is wild about your parallel pregnancies! I can't wait to hear more as you get farther along. That's amazing that you were already able to see the HB at your u/s....very cool!

    @mrs. 64: congrats and welcome to you too! ugh i really hope you don't have terrible morning sickness. best of luck with your betas on Monday. did you ever get the progesterone rx?

    Wow, it's exciting to see so many people join this board!

    I had a mini scare last night. I wasn't really worried, but DH was, so we went to the ER. Everything was fine, and got to see baby and heartbeat early

    EDD is now August 13, though

    Wow, hi everyone. This is my first post and I am so excited to be here. I joined hellobee because my husband and I were going to start ttc in 2014 and I have been stalking the POAS boards the last couple of months. However, we were NTNP starting in October and SURPRISE, baby is due August 23.

    So, here are my stats:
    EDD: August 23
    When Did You Find Out?: December 14 (Awkward as we had a family party that day and I had to find excuses to turn down wine all day)
    Child Number: 1
    Where You Live: CT
    What kind of provider will you see?: obgyn
    When's Your First Appointment?: First ultrasound is 1/8
    What kind of birth do you want?: Whatever keeps me and baby healthy.
    What You're Most Excited For: Being a mom...we were actually committed to being childfree by choice until I started feeling like I would really regret never experiencing being a mom. Luckily after many discussions my husband was on board with having a child.
    What You're Most Scared About: Making it to the second tri. I am older (36) so a little nervous.
    Symptoms so far: Nothing but feeling really bloated.

    @sharpie: Thank goodness everything is okay!

    @MRSKC: Ha! If one more person tells me I look tired I may scream! I want to reply, "That seems impossible, as I have done little other than sleep, eat, and work - as evidenced by my mess of a house."

    @Reese: Thinking about you today! Keep us updated. I know you are so excited for your ultrasound!

    @Mrs.64: I had cramps all last week (5th week) and talked to the nurse at my doctor's office. She said it was most likely gas and to start watching what I was eating. I quickly realized she was 100% right and it was gas pains caused by my sudden affinity for carrots (hard to digest). Either way, I figure a little bit of cramps is okay, it just means LO is getting really snug.

    @BakerBee: Thanks...

    Appointment didn't go well... too early to see anything but they did see a "mass" ... Beta tests came back "pretty low" (I didnt ask for the numbers) I need to go back next week to do another beta and another ultrasound. Doctor said there is a possibility that it could be ectopic but it doesn't look like a classic ectopic (what does that mean!?) ... so she thinks it might have been too early to do the tests..

    pretty discouraged :(My next ultrasound is booked for the 30th and my Beta is booked for Monday or Tuesday.

    @T.H.O.U.: im so glad you joined the thread

    @beckysue: i got my bfp on 12/14, my due date is 8/24, and my first ultrasound is also 1/8!!!!

    @Reese: i know how it feels to receive bad news at your first appointment - i'm so sorry for all the stress and i do hope it's just that it's way too early to see anything.

  27. kodybear

    pear / 1616 posts

    @Reese: i'm sorry it didn't go well. i wouldn't be discouraged yet though. my last pregnancy i went in for an early u/s for bleeding (around 5w which is where i think you are) and they could barely see anything. they saw what could be a sac but couldn't confirm. it was just too early. and as long as your betas double thats all that matters. anyway, hoping you get good news next week.

    @beckysue: welcome and congrats!!

    @mrs. 64: ahh i see, i hope you don't get it! is there anything they can do if they know it runs in the family? do regular morning sickness meds help? (sorry if these sound like dumb questions. i only heard about this term when kate middleton had it and i know she had to be hospitalized for it )

    @sharpie: glad everything was okay!! and happy you got to see your little bean!

    @Reese: sorry your appointment didn't go well. I'm thinking about you and hoping/praying it was just too early. Kodybear's story about not seeing anything at 5 weeks from her last pregnancy is reassuring

    @Mrs.Someone: Me too!

    @chibee: Ditto

    @kodybear: This is reassuring.. It is complicated because I don't know my dates... I wasn't tracking,temping,OPKing...Telling from my period tracker (that I am always off by on a few days) .. I might be around 4 weeks 3-4 days. Which means I would have been about 4 weeks exactly when I did my first BETA. Hoping thats all it is..

    @sharpie: Thank you

    @Reese: if you're actually 4w3-4d then i actually think its a good sign that they see something! hopefully this doesn't put a damper on your holidays... i think we all just need these next few weeks to fly by

    @Reese: I'm sorry it wasn't as expected, but you really may just be really early. Hopefully the betas will rise and that will put you at ease.

    @beckysue: Welcome!

    @sharpie: Yikes, glad everything was ok! And yay for the heartbeat! I'm in Norfolk.

    @BakerBee: It doesn't feel like gas, but maybe that's what it is. Hopefully it's normal.

    @Reese: I'm also in beta hell. Mine was 17 at 12 dpo. I go in again on Monday morning. I kind of wish I'd never had them done because I have been panicking the whole time since then. Hopefully you will have good news at your next appointment.

    @kodybear: With my mom, no drugs would touch it and she had to be hospitalized while pregnant with my sister. Obviously this was a long time ago. I know one person who had it a year or two ago and she was in pretty bad shape as well. So mostly I'm just hoping it doesn't come my way!

    @buffalove: Thanks. Between insurance, the weekend, and the holidays, I wouldn't be able to get crinone or injections before some time next week. They are calling in endometrin and I'm praying that I tolerate it well and that it's not too late.

    I have felt a tired and a tiny bit queasy today from about noon on. Maybe I feel queasy because we had early release and I ate lunch at 10:45. I don't know. Not that I want to feel bad, but I hope it's a good sign.

  36. Reese

    pomegranate / 3521 posts

    @BakerBee: @kodybear: @T.H.O.U.: Thanks ladies

    @mrs. 64: Argh! I totally agree. When I got my BFP I called my Dr's office and asked what I should do / when I should make an appointment and if I should wait a while since it was literally the day I was expecting AF. Receptionist told me to come in right away..etc..etc.. Since I wasn't CERTAIN when I should be getting AF (I am lazy with my period tracker but only by a day or so) the Dr sent me for the testing..... If I would have waited I would have been MUCH better off and not going nearly as crazy.

    Holy.Morning.Sickness.

    They don't tell you that it just hits unexpectedly. I was at a family Christmas breakfast and told my husband I thought I was going to get sick - I then proceeded to run to the bathroom. Luckily no one but my husband heard me -- not sure how I eould have explained that to the people who don't know I'm pregnant.

    @BakerBee: Oh no! I hope you feel better! Today I cleaned the house really well in the hopes that if I get morning sickness or start feeling bad soon that at least the house will have had a recent deep clean. I explained this to DH he was very confused. Come to find out he thought morning sickness was bad at the END of pregnancy!

    @BakerBee: ahhh i hate feeling nauseous - in a way i'm totally hoping for morning sickness to ensure me that i am in fact, growing a baby, but i really really hate feeling nauseous i'm so sorry!!

    I have no symptoms other than seriously sore boobs. I have to hold my tiny ones in the shower bc the water hitting them does not feel good. Also, i can't tell if my fatigue is from giving up my caffeine intake or this is a symptom? i have on idea, but every afternoon around 3-4 i just want my bed. I am just shy of 5 weeks (an hr away from being officially 5 weeks!) - too early for symptoms? am i making this up in my head so to reassure myself?

  40. T.H.O.U.

    wonderful clementine / 24134 posts

    @chibee: that sounds about right for 5 week symptoms.
