@winniebee: Yippee for a good GI appointment. And hurray for solids. Looks like several of us are heading that way soon-ish.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: that is a really good visit! And bonus that starting solids will help w/ spit up! I hope you will be able to include diary back into your diet soon!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: Glad R had a good GI visit today! I can't believe solids are happening so soon! I'm not ready!!
And I'm sorry!! I feel like an asshole complaining about sleep issues when I know you and some others have NEVER gotten the good stretches that I once enjoyed!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Just being honest, lol. I seriously flip flop about this issue all the time... So lately I'm in the "let nature takes its course as long as I'm not feeling too zombie like..."
eggplant / 11861 posts
@winniebee: that is great news! He is such a handsome little guy and I am glad he is doing well! Your doing a great job with the non dairy diet!
Ok, I think G plays me for a fool....lol DH has put her in her crib to nap all day and each time out! She usually fuses with me the minute I set her down!!!!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@FaithFertility: DH has some magic touch with K at night time. So I've relinquished my duties and I know put C to bed instead.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MamaG: Man I wish..he works night shift 4-5 days out of the week! But he definitely is in charge of nap time when he is home!!!!

@snowjewelz: It is so hard, I just keep saying one battle at a time......

Gah all this talk of sleeping in cribs & solids! Our babies are growing too quickly. I need to start getting M to sleep in his PnP so he'll be ready for his first vacation next month. Hopefully it's a smooth transition, he still wakes every 2 hrs or so to eat.
@winniebee: Glad the GI appt went well!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
My poor baby just cried and cried tonight. Thought I waited too long to feed her (but she can go up to 4 hrs and we were at 3.5), then thought boob didn't have enough (but schedule is exactly the same) so gave her bottle but she only drank 2 out of 3. Shouldn't be OT since she goes 2-3 before bed time.. So... Teething pain? I really hope this is not a sign of things to come tonight! Sleep dust to all!

@snowjewelz: ohhh poor K!!!!! Could be teeth!! Hopefully she sleeps it off!!!!

@winniebee: So glad your GI appointment went well! R's really packing on the pounds
J is watching us like a hawk when we're eating. He looks angry! We did mostly BLW-style table foods with M (purees while she was at her babysitter's). I had been wanting to do the same with J but, man, I'll do anything to reduce the spit up. The GI doc thought it would make a big difference?
I hope that you can enjoy some dairy soon! I'm trying to keep my cravings in check so I don't gain all the weight right back!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: You can complain! It's SO hard when you're used to good sleep and it gets taken away. J STTN almost every night for about 2 weeks. Now he hasn't done it in 2 months I hope better sleep is in the cards for us all!
@snowjewelz: Poor K It's so hard to see them cry and not be able to comfort them. I think I posted about 10 days ago that J had a totally out of character evening where he just cried and cried and wouldn't nurse or sleep. I had to trick him into nursing. Anyway - he woke up completely fine for his next feeding and was totally fine the next day. I hope it was just a momentary problem for K as well!

@MrsF: yeah he was pretty confident we would see a big difference. He actually suggested rice cereal in bottles as well which is sort of old school and not recommended from a developmental standpoint. But I did some research and it seems to be a widely known way to keep milk in belly versus on your couch. Ryan only gets one bottle a day but I did it tonight and he gobbles it up. We shall see.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: I remember and I said it was just random insanity lol! Her crying just sends me into panic mode! She already woke up once so far but jug needed me to hold her.

Logan is sleeping in his room tonight. I'm already sad knowing he won't just be right next to me!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@winniebee: It does seem so old-school but...ugh... my couch! My entire world is drenched.
@snowjewelz: Poor kiddo At least they won't remember any of this!
pomelo / 5298 posts
@winniebee: our pediatrician recommended the same, I didn't follow his advice though.

someone please tell me there is a 6 month growth spurt and that is the reason E has been cluster feeding every hour from 7-10 all week! It ends up not being terrible overnight bc she is so full she only wakes up once...and most of the feeding is before I go to bed anyways, but it's putting a cramp on my nighttime relaxing!! She just wakes up every hour and yells and hollers until I nurse her (assuming I try anything else like songs or rocking or pacifier). Grow baby grow!
We did start some solids tonight -- some banana. I'm doing BLW again but I forgot how unproductive it seems for the first couple of weeks. We did get some hilarious faces though, just not much actual consumption.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@KayKay: I think there IS a 6 month growth spurt!
Night 1 in the crib sucked. Up every hour until 3:00 when he finally gave us a three hour stretch. Hope tonight is better.

We didn't have great sleep. I guess all the fresh air wasn't helpful. Bummer.
pomegranate / 3973 posts
@Adira: sorry the first night in the crib didn't go so well!
@MamaG: Boo.
E did great last night with only one wakeup at 1, then awake at 6:15 for the day sitting quietly in his crib. I think that was the first time ever with only 1 MOTN wakeup. Too bad I still slept crappy!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@MamaG: I think in general formula is thicker so adding rice cereal probably is overkill? Our GI doctor suggested it at 2 months and I dismissed the idea. But ultimately I decided that we are seeing a specialist for a reason and that I should follow his lead.
Ryan had a great night *for him*. 7-1 then til 5 up for day at 715. He had some cereal this morning and didn't know what to make of it :). Ate some and did well but then was over it.
Now that I know he's feeling better he is going in the crib tonight. My goal is to have him in the crib and swaddle free by 5 months. One week!

@josina: that's amazing! I hope our rock n play transition is as good as yours
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@Adira: ugh! Do you think it's being out of your room? Do you think it's something else?
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@KayKay: I have no idea but it sounds like a growth spurt to me!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: he will do great! I think I will do crib and out of Merlin suit at 6 mo seeing that K is 5 mo on Mon and we are NOT ready!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: if it helps I think the first year is just a giant growth spurt lol! It sounds fun to see them explore food tho! I'm def interested in doing some BLW Along with purees!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: so glad to hear sleep training is doing him good! Your sleep will get better eventually!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
We did alright last night... I think there were extra wake ups, she just starts crying with tears (instead of usually mildly fussing) and I had o pick her up but as soon as I did she went back to sleep. More tears this morning while nursing... And she was gumming my nipples.. Poor baby! I hear teething for some babies are just super uncomfortable.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@winniebee: I'm thinking it's something else because he was waking up a bunch a couple night before we moved him too.
pear / 1961 posts
@winniebee: go Ryan! That is a good night!
@adira: most of the websites that know these things agree that there is a 6 month one, so I'm going with it. Even though she is only a week over 5 months by the MOTN wake up, I felt pretty empty but hopefully my body gets the message soon to up the milkies for that hungry bebe.
@snowjewelz: this is true. DH always says that when I tell him it's a grow spurt! It's just nice sometimes to have a somewhat plausible explanation for their craziness.
pear / 1961 posts
@josina: great night! It must feel so good to have the transition going well!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: G does too with food!! I hope some solids help in your spit up department!!!
@Adira: Aww man I'm sorry, hope the crib sleeps gets better soon!
@josina: That is amazing!!!! So glad this is working for you!!!!!
@winniebee: awww yay for cereal! Hope the crib treats you well!
@KayKay: ohhh man! G eats sometimes like crazy too! Is she a distracted nurser? I feel like some times G stops eating before she is full because she wants to play or chat or well.....anything else!
@snowjewelz: awww maybe those darn teeth are hurting her this stinks, you feel so bad for them and can't exactly figure out how to help!!!
