@whenoceansrise: huh I don't know! Kara had a bit of rash and it's red
@FaithFertility: there is a 5 mo check up.. No shots for once!
I really should be sleeping in case of another bad night but I'm wide awake!

@Adira: good glad to hear!
@FaithFertility: that is soooo creepy!!
@whenoceansrise: hope you feel better!!!

It's official. Ryan's going to be in his rock n play swaddled forever. I got him down easily Unswaddled in the crib. But then he woke 2.5 hours later at 1030 and wouldn't go stay back asleep Unswaddled. Found his thumb recently and sucks it occasionally and did that. Rocked him back to sleep finally but that didn't stick. Finally swaddled him and put him in the rock n play. I'm going to stick with getting him in the crib first I guess. Then proceeded to wake to eat at 2, 445 and pees through his diaper and was up for the day at 550. I can't believe he's almost 5m and still needs a swaddle.

@winniebee: Ugh, sorry for another rough night. I don't know how you take care of him and a toddler on such crappy sleep.

@snowjewelz: Nice, I love going...lol we only do 4,6,8...now
@winniebee: awww I'm sorry......your a rock star and I am sure he will figure it out soon!!!!

G hasn't rolled over in like 6 days?? Normal? She is just too into chewing on whatever to do so I think!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
I made another post on R's sleep - weigh in if you can!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@winniebee: Can you swaddle in crib first? Maybe it was too much everything at once. OR it does take a few painful days for him to get used to it but it'll get better?
@FaithFertility: I think they just become obsessed with one thing or another and just focus on one ability for a few days!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
K's sleep is like bad permanently too (I don't even want the STTN anymore just the initial 6 hr stretch back?!). Yesterday I was pretty zombie like but I'm still not desperate enough to sleep train haha.

@FaithFertility: E hasn't rolled over in awhile either, but I haven't been putting him on his tummy as much since he's always sitting now.
@winniebee: @snowjewelz: Agreed, maybe swaddle in the crib first, or no swaddle in the r&p so he can get used to one at a time?
E didn't do so good last night either, but I think its cuz he didn't eat as much. He was fussy at 8:30 but wouldn't nurse so I put him to bed, (I think he actually WANTS to be in his crib now) He went to sleep on his own but then up at 11:30, 2 and 4 and he would only nurse one side each time. I shouldn't have nursed each time but kept thinking he was hungry since he didn't finish! And we had tstorms last night so didn't want to let him cry either.

@josina: my thing is if I hear her swallowing and is eating then I let her eat......it's hard not to!
Proud of him going to bed like a big boy!!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@josina: he is so good at sitting! I think once they sit, rolling around isn't that fun anymore haha!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: I'm sorry! Hopefully she is working a milestone out and will be STTN shortly
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: Then she'll never STTN since she is working on something daily lol. I'm honestly totally okay with not STTN but I prefer the two wake up's versus like 3-4 (or more on a really bad night). I really just want her to magically learn to self soothe, esp for naps!

We have a tooth! E was being uncharacteristically grumpy yesterday, and finally I decided to check her mouth, just in case -- and yep, there's a little bubble! Gave some tylenol before bed, and that seemed to get her back to normal sleeping schedule. She's happy today, although I think I'll dose her before I leave her with the babysitter for a couple hours. Hopefully it cuts soon!

@josina: @faithfertility: E hasn't rolled in a week or two. She has never done it that often anyways (maybe 10x total in the last 6 weeks?)...I think she's just on to bigger and better things
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: Like a white ish bubble in the gum? Or a for real tooth sticking out? I can never see her bottom b/c she sticks out her tongue lol!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@KayKay: so crazy! I don't know where the time went that our kids are growing teeth, sitting up, eating solids, etc!

Just checking in after a weekend at work. So crazy to hear about all of the big kid stuff our little babies are doing!
J seems a little behind in some ways (not sitting up yet and only rolls occasionally) but obviously they all have their own schedules
In other news - no sign of the measles yet for my BIL. He could still come down with it, but he wouldn't have passed it on to my kids because we haven't seen him in a week. Phew!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: Nice, BIL stay away.....lol
We are with you on sitting up, I don't see that in our near future at all
honeydew / 7283 posts
@FaithFertility: Yeah - we definitely won't be seeing him until his quarantine period is over. Glad to hear J's not the only one not sitting. It's such a fun milestone though - I'm looking forward to it!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: Oh that is so good to hear! I'm sure it's a huge relief for you. K can't sit up unsupported either, though she keeps curling up to sit all the time.
She is 5 mo today!
15 lbs 1 oz
25"
Apparently she has a big head... She is avg sized but head is at 87% lol! Dr said not to be concerned with her arm thing since he did some tests and feel that her muscle strength are good/equal in both. I guess as parents we just read into everything!
honeydew / 7283 posts
@snowjewelz: Happy 5 months to K! Glad that your appointment went well and that the doc wasn't worried about the arm. We don't have a 5 month check up and I sort of wish we did!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@MrsF: @FaithFertility: I'm guessing some place skip it since there are no shots needed! I think I would've been like ummm.. Can I bring her in just to check stats? Even now I'm always worried about her growing lol. My mom was with me today and she was surprised she is growing well b/c she doesn't eat all that much so I was like hah! See I was right! (cause everyone keeps saying she needs to eat more)
eggplant / 11861 posts
@snowjewelz: My mom must say go nurse her every hour....bahahhah mothers!!!
eggplant / 11861 posts
@MrsF: I am too, she wants to sit up all the time I'm trying to help, but down she will go....lol
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@FaithFertility: I keep telling her how breastmilk changes content so babies don't need to eat more as the grow... She was all 'too good to be true' haha. But honestly even if I had all the extra milk in the world, Kara has never voluntarily eaten more than 5 oz in 1 sitting so it's not like I starve her haha!
pear / 1961 posts
@mrsf: e is 5+ months now and hardly rolls, is ok at supported sitting but not on her own, and just laughed for the first time today. she's definitely more chill than her over-achiever big sister
pomelo / 5298 posts
We tried solids tonight. Started with some pureed pears since we have some constipation right now. She wasn't really a huge fan. I was a little surprised with the evil eye she's been giving us while eating. At best she got a couple of baby spoonfuls. Most of it seemed to be drooled back out.
honeydew / 7283 posts
@MamaG: ooh - fun! Did big sister get a kick out of it? I keep telling M that J will be eating soon but she thinks I'm joking.
pomelo / 5298 posts
@MrsF: Big sister was HUGELY excited. She wanted her to have a glass of milk too. When we talked about this last week and what the first food should be, C wanted her to have chocolate. Oy!

Sorry to hear about so many babies struggling with sleep! Logan is back to STTN...
honeydew / 7283 posts
@Adira: that's great news!
J is definitely trained to wake up a few times at night for food & comfort. M was consistently STTN by this age but she was FF. I bet we're going to end up doing some night weaning when he's older.
eggplant / 11861 posts
@Adira: That is great!!!!
G has been doing better as well 1 wake up and up again at 5:30-6;but I put her in bed with me and we crash for another hr
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@MrsF: @FaithFertility: Thanks ladies! Though now I feel like an asshole for even complaining about it, since it was only a week of MOTN wake-ups; nothing like what everyone else has been dealing with!
